Description
The refined chypre fragrance by Jil Sander from 2014 – Simply Jil Sander – will receive three new versions, available for a limited time, which are called The Art of Layering, coming out in October 2016.
The Art of Layering collection includes three fragrances which represent the dominant notes of the top, middle and base of the original composition: Touch of Mandarin, Touch of Violet and Touch of Leather. The new editions are to be mixed with the original, so you get to choose which accord and mood to emphasize. All three new fragrances can also be used individually or mixed together without the original.
Touch of Mandarin intensifies the fresh and fruity character of the top notes of mandarin. Touch of Violet enhances the floral character of the heart with violet flower and leaf accords. Touch of Leather enhances the whole composition by emphasizing the leather from the base, making the scent intense and seductive.
The Art of Layering fragrances will be available in bottles of 40 ml Eau de Parfum each.

This one was another blind buy and I am so happy right now! I love Fahrenheit and when I saw Germany’s review, I knew that I have to have it.
The violets, leather and musk, so soft and so smooth. How come it’s so powerful at the same time?! All the notes are in perfect harmony, just beautiful!
I haven’t tried the original Jil Simply, and now I don’t think I need to, this is what I was looking for.
I think it would be wonderful in any season. The longevity is great, I sprayed it at noon, now 8 hours later it didn’t fade at all. My husband loves it too, what a relief!

Not the kind of violet I was expecting, this is more a purple grape sort of bubblegum violet slipped over the original. Of the three this is the most tender while not entirely floral it still takes out the more citrus/spicy facets. Again quite subtle compared with the original.

Really truly nice, this is all about the violet, not a sweet green one, rather a smooth velvety violet, the leather is very subtle, but it gives the scent a rather classy feel, this isn’t a youngish concoction,. The touch of violet, Mandarin and leather were created to layer with the original Jil,,,so they aren’t overall powerhouse scents, very feminine too..lovely! I personally don’t smell any similarity with Fahrentheit which is all gasoline and utterly masculine to my nose…
But we pick up different things for sure !! I want to get the mandarin now!!

I really enjoy this. It reminded me of a perfume I know well and it finally came to me. It’s very much like a female version of Fahrenheit. The violets , the leather and the ozonic feel is just like Fahrenheit. Geez I am now looking at the notes and it’s basically a simpler version of Fahrenheit. It has the identical notes but not as many. But all the notes that are in JS are in Fahrenheit. Right from the lime and mandarin ,violet leaves and violet flower ,leather patchouli and musk.
Great scent. Fresh violets with an ozonic feel and a musky leather patch base.
Very much enjoying this. Has a classic feel , it’s a touch lighter and sweeter than Fahrenheit and not as complex .
