This is supposed to be a white tea with floral and citrusy nuances. But I don’t get any of those things from this scent. It doesn’t smell like tea. At all. And there is nothing even slightly floral or citrusy about it.
On my skin this smells like a very classic, standard, average cologne for men from the 70’s or the 80’s. (It’s in the same vein as Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla) It’s a very masculine, slightly green, herbal and woodsy smell.
There are nuances of pine needles in here, and also something I interpret as some kind of herb. Maybe sage.
It’s not a bad fragrance. But it doesn’t fit the expectations.
Sillage is quite soft and longevity is 3-4 hours.

I just purchased this scent along with a few others in the Demeter scent line. I love tea and was interested to see what smelling like tea was like.
This scent has a decidedly split personality. When you first spray it on (I got it as the .5oz purse spray) it is very citrus and very green. It is a sharp scent. I’m not very fond of this part. As it develops over the course of about an hour, there’s a delightful earthy scent that appears and the sharp green/citrus fades. This part of the scent is gorgeous. Unfortunately as is true of almost all the Demeter scents I’ve tried as well as by report, the scent has a rather short life span and by 3 hours it is barely perceptible as a skin scent.
I’m rather torn about my overall rating for Silvery Tip Pekoe Tea because while I don’t like the first hour or so that last two are great…..and then it dies and you have to re-spray and get through that first awkward hour again.
This is a gender-neutral scent. It isn’t super girly nor is it terribly masculine. It is relatively light and inoffensive so it would probably work well in an office environment as long as you could re-apply fairly often. Given the price point, you can probably afford to use lots of it. I believe Demeter offers it in other products so maybe layering it with a lotion or bath gel would improve longevity.
