I have the ten piece set and have been trying out each scent in the set this, being the only white colored bottle caught my attention, I find this scent very much a rendition of the 90s musk! The Jovan musk type, really! Its inoffensive, a daytime scent and has good sillage. If you are looking for a white musk with a 90s vibe, this is it. Not outstanding but not so bad either. An average everyday scent.

Wow… I really love this one! I am in the process of sampling all 10 Crosby scents and this one is SOOO pretty and innocent! I agree with the reviewer who mentioned Johnsons Baby Shampoo. Of course, with this being a simple [white, implied] musk, it IS similar to those mentioned–but I think this one is much smoother and well done from BBW and Jovan. I would consider buying a larger bottle of this one. Minimalist scent, as another reviewer suggested, is a great description as well. In my opinion–a must-try for those who love a light musk!!!! Staying power is actually pretty good…I sprayed 3x under clothing and it has lasted at least 8 hours!

This particular musk is too sweet and too “clean.” It smells like cheap shampoo from the dollar store. I do not care for it at all.

I tried this twice and both times, thew the test strip away. Smells like a very watered down Jovan Musk. I like the bottle and the concept but the scent isn’t my type of musk. I should add that certain risks give me nausea and this is one I agree, if you like this just try Jovan and see if it’s close enough before you pay a lot more for this.

This made me wonder if I’m entirely clear on what “musk” is. Usually musk means “instant headache” for me, especially in cheaper perfumes, but I really like this. It’s as innocuous as can be, but still soapy salt-sweet–to me it’s the love child of Amazing Grace and Kierin’s Sunday Brunch. As mentioned in other reviews, it’s nothing earth-shattering… but I still find myself reaching for it constantly. Sometimes it gets a detergent soap overtone as it dries, but it softens into something a little cozier and sweeter.

Im confused. So does musk smell like talcum? Anyways silent St smells mostly like vodka. This is a far weaker dupe of bbw moonlit path

    Smells like Johnson’s baby shampoo.

It’s a soft refreshing salty aquatic. Like a light sea breeze.

Hmmm…I bought this on a whim. I like musk and I like boring, sheer, soapy/shampooey fragrances. I’m short on time, so I’ll make this quick. I should disclaim that I haven’t set foot in a Bath and Body Works or Body Shop in well over a decade, I have no idea what their equivalent perfumes smell like. But I’m wearing this tonight and it’s nicely settled on my skin now. I just smelled my wrist and my eyes rolled back into my head and I exclaimed. It’s just a really yummy, cozy, clean musk. Dry down is worth it. It is delightful, and I wasn’t even planning on giving this one much airplay or writing a review in the first place.
I’m trying not to get too bent out of shape about whether or not it smells “expensive”, because musk is a category whose price is always hard to justify. Very few people love the “cheap” musks, but the expensive ones always have virulent detractors as well. You just have to try them and decide for yourself. Some musk of some echelon is likely to be your HG, but it’s definitely more a matter of chemistry than taste. I don’t think this is overpriced if you like it. For $160 you get nearly 6 oz of juice. Six ounces. Six. That’s going to last you a nice long while. Also it’s very cheap on ebay right now.

I Purchased the Deluxe Set of the D.L. fragrances which had the a .25oz spray of Each of his 10 frags…Out Of All of them Only 2 are FULL Bottle purchase worthy for me…This is one of those two, Silent Street takes me back to the 90’s being in My 20’s and when fragrances started to be marketed as Unisex which back then I Unfortunately played by the fragrance gender rules and would JUMP On marketed Unisex Fragrances! One of them being The Body Shop’s WHITE MUSK, Goodness how I Loved That OIL back then and Silent Street reminds me so much of The GOOD Ole’ Days!!

I have the sample set of all the fragrances. This is one of the fragrances in the set. It is one of the fragrances I prefer in the set. I don’t find that it smells like white musk from the Body Shop at all. It certainly doesn’t smell like Jovan Musk either. One main difference I notice is that it’s not anywhere near as sweet as White Musk or Jovan Musk. Does it smell “expensive”? Not really. It is rather linear and plain. But it is very ethereal. It is unique in its simplicity. I need to wear this more to decide whether or not I would ever want a full bottle. Many people trashed Blackout from this same line and I found that Blackout smells odd on paper but on my skin it’s very very good. There’s a big difference with all of these fragrances between the paper and on one’s skin. I do like this fragrance. I’m going to wear it more so I can better develop my opinion on it.
Edit: wore this for some time today. It dried down to a musk mixed with a note that was like the rice note in Creed love in White. This is NOT in
League with Creed love in white, say whatever about Creed’s batch differences and quality crisis, but Creed is not comparable to this. Creed is a superior product. I’m just saying there is a scent in there and maybe it is rice, I don’t know, but it also smells like Shiro. I have learned from experience that I love this note or accord or whatever it is but other people do not smell it the way I do. To me it smells clean and cool and fresh and like yummy rice milk. I know that sounds weird. But other people say it smells like chlorine or like some weird astringent soap. Which is too bad because I could walk around sniffing it all day, while at the same time repel others! Maybe this would be useful for my subway ride.

I could not wait to purchase this fragrance. Fell in love with the paper insert sample that came in an ad.
It does not smell as good as the paper sample at all. It reminds me of bug repellant. I wanted to love this, my husband and kids liked it, but I felt like it smelled more chemical than fragrant.

This is a very pretty, very basic white musk. Nothing earth shattering, but not necessarily boring either, because it is what it is meant to be. It smells clean and linear to my nose. During hour two on my skin, it went through a bit of an odd and off putting sour stage which gave me a headache.
When I smell white musk, I rarely have an image of snow come to mind. I find it intriguing that an image of clean snow is what the creator had in mind in his portrayal of the scent. Personally, white musk always makes me think of Spring time, clean skin and teenaged majorettes since so many of them wore Jovan white musk when I was in high school.
I personally can’t imagine forking over $85 plus USD for something that smells almost identical to a scent you can find at the drugstore for a mere $5-10 bucks. You are throwing money at marketing, a designer name and a (meh…kind of) cool/minimalistic bottle.
As with all scent, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to each their own!
    If you like:
Jovan White musk, Skin musk, The Body Shop White Musk, or Body Fantasies White Musk body spray, I feel it safe to say you would most likely enjoy this.
    ❤️

So soft, powdery and feminine. I was a big fan of Anais Anais when I was young and this is an even better version. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this fragrance.

  15. :

Soft cool musk with a hint of powdery florals. The user who says this smells like Moonlit Path is on to something. All the scents from this line have been very 90s/00s B&BW. I struggle to find more to say about them. Silent St. is better than most, but still not very interesting.

I used to hate white musk but have recently been craving it for some weird reason. As long as it doesn’t smell like a dryer sheet fresh out of the box. I was surprised by how much I like this one. I was looking for something inoffensive to wear on a very long flight so got this in a travel spray. The opening almost verges on that dryer sheet that I hate but it mellows out and becomes less sweet, settling to a clean, cool white musk with a hint of cucumber. Only a tad powdery. It’s a skin scent for sure and something that others probably wouldn’t identify as “perfume”. I tested a bunch of other white masks, niche and mainstream, and kept coming back to this one. My other favorites are Annick Goutal Musc Nomade and Serge Lutens Clair de Musc, all different enough from each other and I think this one sits in the middle of those 2. As the reviewer below said Silent St is the scent of a cloud.I also think icy cool water or snow might work. I’ve been wearing it a lot this summer but I think this would also smell great in winter.

  17. :

How is this only 2 notes and so amazing! Love this gentle scent. I don’t know why but I think this is what a cloud would smell like.

I took a fragrance hiatus after amassing way too many scents (is that even possible?). Anyways, amusing myself in the mall the other day, out pops a neat set of new fragrances and a designer I had never heard. Cool designs, very eye-catching, and simple yet effective bottle shape. I sampled a few, and for some reason, this bottle captivated me and I have been quite entranced since. I don’t know how to attempt to describe this, but here goes: if someone took clean laundry, the pleasant scent of your mother holding you – or maybe just baby powder – and some unisex musk, then you’d end up with Silent Street. An odd blend that works great on my skin. Very intrigued. Thanks Derek Lam, I’m back in the fragrance business.

The initial blast was very hairspray,. Very fresh, clean, laundry sheet type scent. Crisp white shirt. This is truly unisex, leaning slightly masculine. I felt the need to overspray to smell this properly, and now my wrists are sticky.

  20. :

Eh, It’s OK. I prefer a funky musk. No funk here. Safe, soft, pretty, inoffensive. Also, as stated before, a little too pricey.

  21. :

    5 out of 5

Aquatic, cool, paper-like, synthetic. Most definitely unisex.
It’s a minimalistic linear and light scent but it is clearly present for 4~5 hours.
Some musks smell waxy and unpleasant to me, but this one doesn’t. It doesn’t even smell like the kind of musk I am familiar with.
My impression of it is boring and lacking by itself.
As someone mentioned below, it is good layering material.
It has brought an extra brightness to my springy floral scents. Silent St. is like the petticoat of perfumes.

  22. :

I was very surprised to see musk listed as the only note in this fragrance. I get a blast of aquatic (or “marine”) notes immediately, followed by a greenish floral scent. The musk is a base for it all, and it’s a soapy musk, not the animalic or buttery kind. I didn’t care for this at all.

  23. :

I was pleasantly surprised by Silent Street. I gave a paper strip a spray, and was honestly bored. I sprayed the back of my hand, and within minutes it warmed up and projected the prettiest, fluffiest, cold musk. On me it pulled slightly aldehydic with a super subtle coconut water undertone (I thankfully wasn’t getting that cucumber smell others experienced). And wow, this one has nice lasting power.
*I’m revisiting this one a few months later and I definitely do get a cucumber and sweet musk vibe. It’s quite nice!

Light and pretty. This came in a Sephora sample box, and I expected to hate it, because I usually am overwhelmed by musk. Silent Street is actually quote soft, and the breezy floral notes are balanced well with the musk. It smells watery and cool to me as well.
I often think the designers’ inspiration statements just sound like marketing nonsense, but this really does evoke the scent of fresh snowfall in the city. (brisk fresh air, sand, ice, pavement). I probably wouldn’t pay for a full-bottle, but am pleasantly surprised by my little sample nonetheless!

This fragrance is just amazing. It reminds me of clean sheets, fresh clouds, a warm embrace, pure heaven. I discovered this in my Sephora playbox and I have been in love ever since. I love it on its own, but one day I layered it with Maison Margiela’s Replica ‘Jazz club’ and it blew me away! Sure, $95 is a lot to spend on a linear fragrance but this is worth it. I own over 50 fragrances and this adds balance to my collection.

    MINIMALISTIC style,
Bottle simplistic as well , has magnetic snap top.
    Nice but simple.
Very pleasant white musk. Extremely clean musk , smells of laundry and cotton balls.
Nothing dirty or funky here , strait up clean musk , soapy and detergent like. Very nice to my nose and you can’t go wrong with this if you want a non perfume clean sort of smell , strait out of the shower ! Also one could think it’s a lotion or cream smell.
    MINIMALISTIC sort of skin scent.
The story is , first snowflakes falling ,,,

This perfume instantly reminded me of visiting my grandma on Easter Sunday. It smells VERY heavily of white florals, which I LOVE, but it is balanced out with a bit of musky smell. Very classy and elegant while still remaining simple and not overly complex.

When I first sprayed it at around 7 AM this morning it smelled like Moonlight Path for a good hour or two which isn’t bad to me at all. Although, I was surprised that scent lasted so long. It is now 1 PM exactly, and I can still smell the perfume, but it has transformed to something lighter and much more intimate. It reminds me of one of my best friends growing up because she smelled similar. She wore Dior Addict 2 though, so I guess that’s what it’s reminding me of right now. I really like this perfume. I don’t think I’ll but it, but it is a nice fragrance.

Depressing. Cold. Aquatic…musk. Maybe I’m anosmic to whatever makes it smell good.

Silent St is 24% EDP, so it is way more concentrated than most EDPs (8%). It is perfect for a person who cannot get fragrances to last on their skin. I love layering Silent St as a base scent with other fragrances in the 10 Crosby line. On its own, it’s pure and soft. Its a Fall winter scent for me and I cant wait to begin wearing it again!

  32. :

    3 out of 5

It really -is- just a stronger version of Moonlight Path!
Save your money and just get the Bath and Body Works fragrance mist. It smells fantastic to me, but 95 is outrageous when the small bottle of the Bath and Body Works fragrance mist is only 6 or 7 dollars. That’s about a 13 fold difference for a formula where the only difference is the scent concentration. That being said, the scent concentration does affect the way it develops on the skin, but otherwise they’re pretty much the same scent.
I mean if you want a longer lasting and stronger version of Moonlight Path and are willing to pay almost 100 dollars, go for it. It doesn’t smell bad, just a lot of money for what it is.

  33. :

On me it’s light, soft, floral, innocent, soapy, pleasant. I got a sample of this and I like it, enough to use my sample, but probably not enough to buy the full size.

I was excited to try this new perfume so I got sample at Sephora. I tested on my skin and after few minutes got headache. I run to the bathroom to wash my hand. I am not a huge fan of mask in perfumes. This smells on my skin so strong and and not pleasant, even after I washed my hand. Sorry, not for me.

I’ve received a lot of compliments while wearing this scent. It reminds me a lot of Chanel Beige or Chanel N*5. Very powdery soft and understated. It’s competing for signature scent status in my collection! I enjoy being a seductress at times and it has gotten a GOOD response from the guys…. But not as good as my Jimmy Choo… So I’ll keep testing I guess 😉

Clean & classy musk; it’s pretty & soft, safe inoffensive great everyday scent; a comforting floral musk that you’ll enjoy just as much on a rainy day as you would a sunny. Not revolutionary, but a scent most musk lovers I’m sure would enjoy. Mr. Lam did a great job on all 10, being a person who likes a nice musk this one stood out to me. Price is a lil steep, but the quality is there. Very nice, I likey. 🙂

  37. :

Very nice floral musk, not that it hasn’t been done, like Aerin Lauder Amber Musk, pretty similar, but more sweet…Silent Street is pretty, I agree it is stylish, poised, enveloping, I could enjoy it tremendously.. I do raise the question of the high price …not sure I would shell over$100 , but if you are looking for an interesting pretty musk, try it…if money is no objection, buy it!!

  38. :

    5 out of 5

This is a beautiful, soft and cozy floral musk. It’s pretty basic I suppose, but I find it is elegant and refined. It does remind me of the Body Shop musk products, I’d need to test to be sure which one. It does have the ‘I can’t stop smelling myself’ quality. This would be appropriate for the office I believe, but also alluring for a night out with your special someone.
Tested against Jovan Musk Oil and I’d say they are close enough as to be a match so I’ll stick with Jovan since it’s so much more affordable. This is nice for spraying though.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

If you want a good quality basic musk scent, here you go. Not much to the floral part, and easily unisex. I love the name, but honestly there are so many musk scents they become redundant. I won’t say it’s not worth trying if you’re a musk fan, because this collection definitely smells of high quality ingredients. It’s a good musk, and I’m not a huge musk fan.
