caramel, lotus, grass, freesia, patch; sweet but floral, green and very watery/aquatic in nature; unique and lovely; a floral gourmand

Funny everyone gets a grassy smell but my chemistry makes it into a kinda smoky caramel vanilla vibe. I really like it! Glad I gave this a chance before I swapped it. At first I hated it! And I only bought it for $4!!

If your a “coffe” type, than this is for you. The bottles are creative. If you hang around coffe houses, and like to drink good coffe, than you ll love this one.

I smell all the notes, even the nice fresh grass and water lily, which are lovely, but they disappear into rose and patchouli. Barely any chocolate or caramel. I was quite disappointed since I was hoping for a yummy caramel fragrance, but it’s not terrible. I’m just not really a fan of rose and patchouli on myself.

I won’t lie. I bought this because of the name and the ADORABLE bottle. This is by far the cutest perfume bottle I own. I didn’t read reviews as closely as I should’ve, and was fooled by the name. SHOWY TOFFEE is a misnomer. There is no toffee in this concoction. I was actually FRIGHTENED to wear this for my November challenge as it was nowhere near what my brain thought it should be. I saw a cupcake, read ‘toffee’ and my brain rebelled when it smelled grass and waterlilies.
But….then I decided to buckle down and really enjoy it for 2 days, and this is what I came up with:
Top notes on me are indeed fresh, wet, cut grass. It is green. It is not particularly pungent, but it is very very fresh. Did I mention green? Sweet green, not bitter green. Not lemon or citrus on me in the top notes, just sweet green grass.
Middle notes on me are water lilies, ozones and just a very pleasant sweetness that I attribute to the freesia (although, not overly freesia-like, really). So we’ve got sweet wet cut grass, and sweet wet waterlilies. Ok then.
The drydown fades into just a lightly sweet sort of patchouli-ness….not overly so, but a bit. I don’t get caramel really, unless it’s part of the underlying sweetness. What I do get is a lot of freshness, and I like that. I was pleasantly surprised, and am glad you can find these Alice & Peter scents much cheaper than retail now. Sillage was moderate, longevity—4+ hours with 2-3 sprays around my body. Not bad. This one is a keeper.

Cut grass, water lily, and caramel. A sweet and refreshing concoction. Why name this “Showy Toffee”? I’d buy it for a low price.

I guess this is more for teens. The first spray isn’t convincing. When it dries down, the toffee comes out. But to me there isn’t anything different from a usual drugstore scent – just the wrapping seeks for attention.

Instead of going full out and create a delicious chewy gourmand caramel floral, they opt for the heavy hand in citrus and stingy on the caramel (there was barely any chocolate).
It is quite a disappointment for anyone picking up the bottle expecting a full-on gourmand. Like any other fragrance from the line its fresh, sparkly and fruity.
Why they chose the decadent, rich, guilty-pleasure cupcake as their bottle beats me.. its completely the opposite.

The bottles are beautiful. Almost irresistable. The actual perfume is ‘grassy’ when you first put it on, then amber and patchouli.

the bottle reminds me of Decoden..I think i’ll be checking this out =D

I really have no idea what the scent of this perfume and the actual name of the perfume have in common… That being said this scent is not terrible. It is basically all amber. It has a touch of pachouli in the drydown, but not enough that you really even notice it. It is a nice amber scent if that is what you are looking for. It does sort of remind me a little of Kiehl’s Vanilla & Cedarwood, but less complex.

You can definitely smell the grass and lemon at the top; a bit refreshing, but the name showy toffee does not match the perfume at all. Drydown is all amber and patchouli.
