This was my first try out of my Xerjoff Shooting Stars discovery set. I absolutely LOVE IT! It reminds me HIGHLY of Annick Goutal Mon Parfum Cheri. That is a high compliment for Annick Goutal because this house is usually too light and skin scent oriented for my tastes. However, they are both plummy and delicious and has phenomenally grand in the both the longevity and projection departments. A must buy…..either/or!

First impression – strongly reminiscent of masculine aerosol shaving cream. Pleasant but medicinal.

Iris ambrato, polveroso, potente.
Mi ricorda Tango Masque e Narciso Rodriguez for him Intense ma molto più persistente.
Opulento e sensuale.
Prezzo stellare, purtroppo.

I discovered this company at the fair Fragranze 2012 in Florence Italy. It wasn’t easy to find then the store that sells fragrances to the regular customer like me, but in the end I was able to buy the whole line from the site ausliebezumduft.de
I must say that there is a system to buy perfumes Xerjoff paying the relatively low price (the normal price of the bottle of 50 ml is up to US$ 260-325).
Since the Shooting Stars line and the Oud Stars line are the masterpieces of artistic perfumery, it is worth to buy the Shooting Stars – Discovery Sets – Part One and Part Two and Oud Stars Collection – Discovery Set that cost US$ 208 for each of the first two sets and US$ 254 for the Oud collection set. Of course there are the Discovery Sets for
XJ17/17 Collection (US$ 331) and XJ Casamorati 1888 Vintage Collection (US$ 182), but personaly I do not like the last two lines, so I didn’t order them.
In each set there are 6 fragrances of 15ml each and therefore the price for a volume of 50 ml drops to US$116 for Shooting Stars collection and to US$142 for Oud Stars collection instead of USD$ 260 and US$ 325 for full version bottles.

Smells like an amber-based plummy oriental on me. I get none of the listed notes, sadly. It’s a classically styled oriental, with the fruited amber. Pass.

This was another vial with a malfunctioning sprayer! #8c%! However, the crammed spray top on this one was actually loose and falling off so that it was possible to get to what was left of the perfume after leakage. Luckyscent, you might want to rethink those spray vials. The first thing that I smell is an incredibly strong, dry, peppery iris note, so strong that nothing else could possibly make its way through. If there’s bergamot or anise in there, it’s completely stomped on by the bloated elephant of an iris. It’s wonderful if you like iris, but if you don’t, then watch out! After an hour or so, the iris becomes creamy as well as powdery and a little boozy – custard and rum flavored, to be exact, and it’s at this point that the scent really comes into its own.
With time, Shingl mellows into a sensual, comfortable, leathery-ambery-fruity-musky scent that reminds me a little bit of the original Rochas Femme. Once this transformation happens, I can enjoy it for hours. It’s not really the same set of notes as Femme, but it’s the same genre, if that makes sense. At that point it’s one of those perfumes that provides an example of how I wish my skin smelled, but it was quite a journey to get there.
