Light cinnamon/amber/patch/add vanilla…..mmmmm….
Just enough citrus floral in this to balance the other notes. Typical..???…yes. Does it smell good ..YES !!
A great underrated scent,IMHO. Nothing different or stand-out for these days…but a great buy and really nicely made scent.I don’t “get” the reviews about this being “strong”…???…But I will agree it has a Casmir family resemblance…(but not as strong). I find this easy to wear…common…but decently nice scent. A pleasant surprise blind-buy.

not particularly my kind of fragrance but if I put taste aside – really good. can’t believe this is sold for £9. What a steal!!!! definitely puts much more expensive frags to shame.

Wow, not at all what I expected, this smells like something that Al Rehab might create. The first spray was beautiful and sweet floral then BAM…. spice but still sweet, it’s very long lasting and absolutely unisex in my opinion. The spicy sweetness reminds me of Al Rehabs Africana, I can’t tolerate Africana but this isn’t as in your face as Africana, it’s mellow, spicy and sweet, and a bit heady. I’d wear this in Summer, I prefer heavier scents in warmer weather. Don’t know what took me so long to try this out, maybe because I found Controversial a bit generic so didn’t bother trying this, nothing generic here, Shh is quite unique and very well blended. Great stuff

So glad to see this on fragrantica. Thanks to Jade for creating a warm scent that will always be on my must-have list. I wore this for years only to realise how similar it was to tom ford. Let the record show that Jade Goody came out with this first. Shh launched in 2006. The notes are also similar to Tom ford. I recall watching Jade’s trip to Abu Dhabi, carefully selecting the notes, obviously with her perfumers. Some people do not get credit for their work. Let’s remember This lady left us with something beautiful. She was full of energy, she was hardworking, she managed a salon and was able to balance it with all that media exposure, she was a loving mum, a caring spouse and a devoted daughter. RIP

UPDATE: march 2018
I think a mixture of warmer weather and a more sensitised nose has me being more critical of this. Its too linear, and even in winter it works better layered with something more sweeter and sophisticated like Madam Gres. Its fine and good for the price point but sceeches on my nose now that I have been examining and studying scents more consciously and am getting seriously picky. Its a wonderful journey. But now this Shhh girl is strictly for layering to quiet her down because there is nothing Shhh about this heavy autumnal toned scent.

This is spice alright! Deep and strong initially, then a paler version of the same about 2 hrs later. Not much movement, but distinctly there in androgynous mix of woodsy sweet in yer face honey notes. Am prompted to lighten it as a layering exercise – with something sweeter, lighter, less dense. This perfume is huge hug with a winter blanket. For selective wearing, like a secret code for special sharing. Compared to its later sweeter sister perfume Controversial, this one screams Big Sister. Mixing/layering the two makes for a heady family affair. They work well together and a little of each goes a very long way so value wise, they are excellent. Thank you Jade.

I make my clever husband smell my perfume so often, he now is more discerning and clued-up than me. His first, unprompted, response to Shh was “When did you get a Tom Ford? Or is that a new Guerlain?” I was amazed at how much he had silently been absorbing all the perfume-related witter that I emit from morning til night. I just thought it was like background noise to him. Anyway, that was over a year ago and I’m now on the second big bottle of this. There are many neglected scents in my wardrobe, ousted from the top spot by something that came from the most unlikely source and costs a tenner. I wear this more than anything else, of course because I love it, but also because it serves as a reminder that no stone should be left unturned in a truly open-minded quest for excellence. Fantastic stuff.
The actual smell? I’m rubbish at describing, but it’s rich, warm, full, blended to perfection, durable, and ideal for the season of falling leaves. If you know and love the scent that surrounds Cercidiphyllum or Katsura trees on crisp autumn days, you’re in luck, because this is the closest thing in a bottle.

Like Whit below, I am not familiar with Jade Goody as I am in the USA. Decided to try this based on a youtube review from what I believe is from our own Fragrantica member Ouch! His review made me buy it… Ouch its all your fault. ;). I am so glad I did. Honestly I had no idea what to expect but it’s a pleasant surprise.
If you enjoy a spice fragrance this one is for you. It’s got an Autumn/Winter vibe. There is a very distant Jimmy Choo thing going on here but it does not really resemble Choo too much. It’s got somewhat of a dark vibe but it’s also sweet and feminine. I adore spice so I am in love with it. If your into floral’s you probably would not go for this one. The bottle is pretty darn cheap looking but who cares. The fragrance itself is amazing.
It seems to remain the same from start to finish. I will report later on the lasting power.

I stumbled upon this perfume on another site, and looked up the notes on here. I was intrigued because it sounded like something I would really enjoy. So, I blind bought it, having no idea what it smelled like and who the heck is Jade Goody?? Well, while I was waiting on it to arrive, I read more of the reviews and got on Wiki to read more about Jade Goody. A sad story reading about how she passed.
About the perfume, I got the giftset for a ridiculously low price and you know what, this is actually very good. This doesn’t smell celebrity at all (not that I have an issue with that), and it’s super long lasting and spicy. I agree that it’s rich and full bodied, kinda reminds me of Clinique’s Aromatics in a way. A very underrated gem and wonderful blind buy this is! I will update after I give a proper wearing. So far, I really like it.

I tend to shy away from celebrity scents, the only one I have genuinly enjoyed is Pharell Williams Girl which could easily pass as a niche fragrance and strangely enough this one was also a pleasant surprise. It’s certainly an oriental and could easily be pulled off by a man. It’s spicy with alot of amber and I can’t quite believe the quality for £9 for 50ml. I do love alot of niche offerings and yes alot of celebrity scents don’t quite hit the mark for me but every once in a while you find a hidden gem such as Shhh for a fantastic price and if it smells good I will wear it regardless of the price or any negative stigma surrounding it. Give it a whirl, you may well be surprised.
ZADROT #1 – :
Is this really for women? Because this has to be most masculine smelling woman’s fragrance I’ve tried. I’m sure on some peoples skin this is wonderful, sadly on mine it smells of amber, very, very strong amber.
nsm1 – :
I admit when I first bought this, I thought it’d be awful, but was probably the best celebrity frag around (not topping elizabeth taylor of course…), the spices are very prominent on my skin and works well with the citruses, I detect alot of orange in there.

After falling in love with her other perfume, i just had to try this, and i am honestly blown away, it’s gorgeous!! I have always steered away from spicy perfumes, but as the colder weather is drawing in, i find myself craving them, and this fits the bill perfectly!
It’s not too spicy thank goodness, and has sweetness in it from the fruits and vanilla. It’s warm, cozy, kinda reminds me of christmas due to the cinammon… i love it! I also love the soft powderiness about it, as i love powdery perfumes. I’m not too good at describing the notes i smell, so i won’t try, i’ll just say that she really knew what she was doing when she put this masterpiece together.
I just wish more people could try it as it is very underrated in my opinion. Can’t wait to wear it more!!
Аркаша – :
It’s a little bit sweet but I don’t know why (maybe the vanilla?) – not very sweet but it’s there and I get very little pepper or cumin. It’s different in a good way. I get the big citrus opening and florals then the amber, wood. patchouli and musk. It’s feminine and it’s great for the price and has an excellent longevity (10 hours easily), and sillage. Woody floral on me. It smells like it should be more expensive in a world of over priced scents that smell the same as each other – an underrated gem!
34GHY – :
Now I’ll admit I don’t like celebrities much as a rule and I tend to avoid their perfumes (mostly they seem to be sugary clones to me) but after seeing the reviews for this I figured I’d give it a go, you guys are rather persuasive!
Now it’s not as dark or as heavy as I’d hoped but it is pleasant and easy to like. For me, I stumbled upon it when looking for perfumes with a cumin note, I quite enjoy a hint of something a bit ‘dirty or erotic’ and I had hoped it would be more pronounced, sadly not.
Mostly I get amber, vanilla, cinnamon and pink pepper. It’s still quite sweet to me but not in such a sickly manner. It lasts well enough but no huge sillage on me, although I will see what happens in summer! Either way, for the price I have no complaints, even if I would be tempted to lie about the name!
Edit:
I take it back… It just seems more sickly each time I try it, I have both it and her other but now I just want rid of them!

This is one of the best celebrity perfumes out there. It might be hard to get your hands on but it is amazing !!!! This scent come from one of the best celebs of all time. The late Jade Goody. She was the most down to earth women ever !! When this women passed away I think 99% of the UK where moved to tears. Jade may have passed on but she left us with 2 amazing scents. This scent isn’t sweet or sticky. I can’t even describe it. You have to smell it to understand the power of this. When I wear it this lasts about 12-13 hours on my skin ! This gets a 10/10 from me x
emb361Unlogrere – :
This is amazing. Deep dark, heavy and mysterious. Great change from the usual sickly sweet celeb fragrances. Great lasting power too! Both jade goodys perfumes are fantastic, and I’m sure anyone who has, like me,ignored the name attached and gone for it will agree! Also nice to see a celeb fragrance labelled as EDP actually perform like an EDP rather than the watered down rubbish you get from others.

I always thought this was a ‘celeb’ scent of the worst kind from a famous for being foul-mouthed, ignorant and loathsome person and in it’s name I assumed the ‘it’ part was implied but I am shocked to find it’s a surprisingly interesting perfume. I reluctantly tried it on the advice of another perfumista and I was shocked to find it was so very different from my expectations, so dark, so rich – complex even. I think it might be even better on a man. I am going back to buy a bottle that I may – or may not share with my DH. But sshh….it’s a secret, don’t tell anyone else how good it is…
mwh373elipseskism – :
I remember when this fragrance came out, my auntie had it but I was too young to appreciate it. I believe it was one of the most popular fragrances of the year. I’m not sure why but this last year hundreds of giftset boxes of this have been popping up everywhere, after years of it being virtually impossible to find. I went ahead and bought one, without having tested it for many many years. I was very pleasantly surprised time round.
This is a rich oriental scent with whiffs of incense and amber resin. The spillage is very strong, however the lasting power is not amazing, but considering I paid about £9 for the 50ml giftset I’M not too bothered.
tuw950speagoessenda – :
Hands down one of my favourite cheapies EVER. This is better quality in terms of strength and longevity than most perfumes I smell and test today. I get 12+plus from this for a few sprays and it’s SO cheap! I think I may get a back up.
A very misunderstood, loud mouthed, obnoxious and controversial British celebrity released her first fragrance after her appearance on “Big Brother”. The whole process of her deciding to make and produce a perfume was documented so a lot of people knew about this one in the UK. We saw her gathering rose petals for distillation…choosing bottles etc. She died at the age of 27 on mother’s day leaving behind 2 children. It was very public and very sad to watch. She stupidly made racist remarks which sent the media into a frenzy. Silly silly girl But…I’m here to review the perfume.
I must say, the smell of it is quite baffling, but very different and beautiful. I really don’t know what I’m smelling. This has a somewhat vintage feel, but still remains modern. Like it’s stuck between times.
It is softly spicy, a very light powder, and I also get a very distinct peppery incense and some cinnamon. The floral tone of this I think is just beautiful. Rich and full bodied. It smells like neither rose or iris. The iris is an “accent” here as opposed to a shining note. But as I said..I really cannot put my finger on what I’m smelling here. It’s a real tough one!! gggrrrrr. I would say this is a spicy floral. More floral than spicy but really well balanced.
I hope some more people review this one to see their take on it. Maybe put me out of my misery.
🙂
