Ah, Selene is cool, bright and nocturnal, just like the moon. She is more of an oriental than anything, the spices blend with the roses,(yes lots of them) and creates a very romantic and sexy fragrance. Perhaps the clove accents the carnation, but it becomes appearent here. Carnation lovers take note!
Selene was the first Lord Jester I tried it immediately changed my impression on natural perfumery. Its not health food store aromatherapy. It is the way perfumes have been made for 1,000s of years. Now that commercial production has become cheapened with so many synthics, this is perhaps the next direction we may take. Indeed, we have come so far with this tried and true tradition, why stop now?

you can really smell the nutmeg and clove in this. this is so herblike and bursting with life. its spicy and creamy and then a light floral creeps in. this reminds me of something i can’t seem to put my finger on. the composition of this perfume is outstanding and lasting time on me is not too bad, about 4 -5 hours. thumbs up!

Ahhh, Selene-goddess daughter of Titans, who drove the Moon in a silver chariot across the sky, pulled by milk-white heifers, and whose soft moonbeams brought rest and dreams…lover of the shepherd Endymion and mother of dreams.
This scent shies away from the usual pale white lilies and night blooming flowers to show us another side of lunar energy…that which stimulates and brings mysteries and magick to life!
This begins sharply with petit grain and pink pepper, softened by orange blossom and rosewood’s gentle strength. A strange mix to introduce the moon; but it works, and keeps it unisex. The heart is resplendent with flowers (who reveal their stongest essence at night, after feeling Selene’s beams)-the cobination of two very gentle, lush roses and a hint of subtle jasmine makes it soft and floral, but the addition of cloves(warm), nutmeg(smooth) and clary sage(pungent & green) remind us nothing is all feminine or masculine, and these notes accent and bring out the full beauty of the flowers. The dry down is smooth and truly unique, as the violet leaf and orris combine in a lush green, earthy embrace and the cool energy of the iris itself is dark and smooth. Carnation adds a spicy dryness to this. The basest base notes of amber, styrax (one of my favorite woody notes) and vanilla make this cling to the skin forever, and I just cannot stop smelling my arms!
Later in literature Selene was eventually replaced by Artemis (Diana)but I am so glad to see someone remembers this titaness and all her dark majesty…
    Sillage: very good
    Longevity: excellent
    Overall: 4.5/5
This EDP is not what you’d expect at first, but becomes something floral, dark and smooth evoking aromas of night time flower gardens, dark forests and magickal concoctions…Blessed Be!
