I first heard about this fragrance when the Mojo Magique range was presented on Fragrantica. Seer grabbed my attention as I love woody scents and I grew up near a forest. This review is for the rollerball, which I tried on two diffent occasions, once on a cool spring day with higher humidity and today, on a warmish summer day. Thankfully to my nose this is not a green, or even a wet green, type of scent. My skin highlights the warm wood and leather notes but without the bitterness that puts me off some leather fragrances. There is a sprinkling of pine needles and a hint of saffron but mainly this reminds me of the cosy warmth of a wooden sauna, without the intense heat of course. I do not detect any “green notes” as in “green grass” or wet dog like accords. For a unisex fragrance this is a tad more on the masculine side but it has nothing to do with those old fashioned pine needle leather moss kind of colognes. It is warm, dry and friendly, cosy, without being sweet. Definitely unlike any other wood fragrance I have tested yet inoffensive enough for most occasions.

Seer is one who walks alone at night. His footsteps echo, as his leather hiking boots crush pine needles, leaves, and leave imprints in the moist earth. His skin smells faintly of herbal soap from the evening shower. The silent walker slips through ancient trees, leaving behind his presence in scent. Saffron, the tin left open on the tabletop has left its essence imprinted upon his clothes, along with the aroma of an astringent Earl Grey tea, the last sip left to sit idly by in the cup. Somewhere in the night blooms Osmanthus flower, but this bloom is shy, and hidden from prying eyes. He enjoys the bracing chill in the night air.
Seer is bright a first, dryly herbal, ever so slightly soapy, giving way to a heart of woods, nips of pine, a beautiful, bergamot infused Earl Grey tea & saffron finish. Fans of Eau Campagne, Timbuktu, and Givenchy 3 may enjoy this. To my nose it runs on the masculine side, and I feel like I detect a gentle trace of a dry, green incense note. Ladies & gentlemen who love your greens, this is a contemporary spin on some classic aromas. I’m thoroughly enjoying my lovely 10ml’s of Seer and look forward to reviewing the rest of the line!
