Turn the bottle around, Hollie! The seashell is on the INSIDE! 🙂
I love this perfume, so fresh and clean. I wear it when I need to feel calm, happy, positive. It’s your go-to “have a good day” perfume. Its so much nicer than Marine Sel and the only one I can wear around my cousin who is severely allergic to flowers. It’s also good if you get car or bus sick as it won’t make you nauseated. I wore it all around Ireland, as it fit well with the sea atmosphere, but also the bus ride! Sadly being discontinued by Margot Elena. Boooooo! (:’(

The bottle I have doesn’t have the pretty seashell like the picture above. I may be wrong but I think the newer style bottles have the pictures. I say that because I’ve been stalking Tokyo Milk for years and have several from the original and dark collection in my own collection. I have the bottle with the plain, brown label.
The “notes” on the bottle say: Clean Coral (???), Mineral Salt, Watercress, Crushed Citrus.
I don’t see anything about Starfish and I’m not sure where that’s coming from. I picked up my bottle yesterday in a little boutique about 4 hours from my home….a place I only visit about every four or five years. Why does this matter? Well…because I’m home now but if I were still there, I’d see if I could exchange it for an altogether different perfume. Maybe I should have known better. Citrus perfumes are not usually my thing. They smell nice…in theory..and in the air….but on me they can end up smelling sharp and sour like men’s deoderant.
I have mixed feelings about Sea and Sky. Firstly, I LOVE the name. I imagined salt and ozone and wind and all that and it really does portray that to some degree but the citrus is too much for me…I think. It’s sharp and limey and similar to many men’s perfumes I’ve smelled. I keep trying to keep my head in the Tokyo Milk space and remember that it’s niche, the packaging is special and that..for some reason…this is more unique than those other fragrances I’m reminded of.
Alas…..I don’t know if it is. More important than those others,I mean. Think Gap-The Natural…or one of those zesty St. Bart’s bottles,Oscar’s Live in Love…..heck…my hubby walked out the door this morning wearing Bond no.9, Peace for Men……AND….that smelled similar to this. I know I’m not in love but it’s not the perfume’s fault. I was hasty in my choice in picking it out because, as husband’s often do, I was rushed during the choosing process. Drats! I’m going to keep wearing it though…..see if I can change my mind about it. Probably not gonna happen but fortunately, Margo Elena creates here lovlies to be affordable so I don’t have complete buyers remorse.
Oh….one last thing. I sprayed it on me in the car yesterday and my husband gasped, “Oh Gawd…..did you just spray bug spray in here?!” Thanks a lot! I can’t get that association out of my head now either. I think Sea and Sky could have been tempered with some woods ( perhaps, cedar or fir..they grow by the sea and their tops touch the sky??) and something just a little sweet ( did I mention that this is NOT sweet at all?) Something to warm it up…it’s a cold scent.
Definitely unisex if not completely leaning towards the male gender.

So this has some hints of oysters? No not the mushroom types. Fresh oysters
Hmm
Probably an intersting scent, oysters must represent salty sea scent

Notes: Coriander, White Sage, Birch Wood, Tundra Moss
I was so disappointed in this. I love Tokyo Milk’s Marine Sel fragrance and I was hoping this would be somewhat similar, but it’s not. Very generic smelling. It doesn’t smell BAD, but it’s nothing special. Almost like a knock off cologne. And I disagree with paper_roses, I think it’s more of a masculine scent than a unisex scent. It starts out almost like an axe body spray, but then cools down to a more pleasant, lightly citrus and salty ocean smell. Again, it’s not bad, but I think I’ll be sticking with Marine Sel.

This is a really nice, unisex fragrance. I get a good hit of citrus on my skin, along with the coral and salt.
