I had a sample of this and tried it a few times. In short, not for me. Top notes are a strong floral and citrus mix with some noticeable vanilla in the background. Bordering on cloyingly sweet. And to me, doesn’t say “masculine” the way I would expect a Ferrari-branded cologne to.
After it settles down it becomes a bit nicer, although still quite sweet and floral. Citrus/fruit notes rise more to the surface. Vanilla still there, subtly. Overall feels quite cheap, with little depth or sophistication. 3/10

Some say that we should not judge a book by its cover. But what nobody says is that we should not judge a perfume by its bottle. This statement is also true, especially in the case of this scent from Scuderia Ferrari, released in 2011.
In my opinion, it’s the ugliest bottle of all in the Scuderia collection. On the other hand, the fragrance is one of the most beautiful (if not the best) of the entire line. It’s composed by top notes of bergamot, lavender and blood-orange; in the heart, notes of watermelon, Green Apple and thyme. The base brings notes of vanilla, amber, musk and cedar. For some reason, once applied on the skin, I felt a huge similarity with Very Irrèsistible Summer, from 2006, although they do not have anything in common, generally speaking. Still, even knowing that the version Black Signature from Scuderia Ferrari (2013) was created as a tribute to the classic Scuderia Ferrari Black, I can see a bigger connection with this one, which is a reinterpretation of the same.
As I mentioned before, the output is sweetened and let me reminding of something with notes of hazelnut. I know that the blood-orange is the first to be noticed and I believe that the thyme plays part in this olfactory reaction which leaves me confused. Watermelon is something that I really don’t feel in this fragrance and the base notes make a link, at various times, with the base of the Scuderia Ferrari Black, since the notes are the same.
So, if you’re a fan of the Black and would like to meet a more modern and nighttime version (in the sense of ballads and dance floors) which, at least on my skin, presented a great sillage and a good lasting, so it’s worth try Black Shine. Come discover the bright side of the black.

smells nice but it doesn’t really attract me to keep buying this. Doesn’t last long too

Cheap citrus smell yet somewhat unique. The price is such a steal nowadays it might be worth it for some, along with the other Ferrari scents.
Beware the sum is minuscule relative to all the parts, I expected much more complexity based on the notes.

Ferrari Black Shine is very similar to Acqua di Gio – Giorgio Armani for men, just as Ferrari Black resembles Boss Bottled by Hugo Boss. Although longevity of the Ferrari scents may not be as lasting as Armani or Hugo, they are very affordable alternatives.
