my favorite office fragrance.

I know the fragrance community tends not to “big-up” the Ferrari house BEFORE the amazing Essence line came out (Chad from A Gentleman’s Journey on Youtube has done well to put the proper recognition on these more recent Ferrari releases).
However, to me, Ferrari was a budget-friendly house for the young-uns back in the day. Ferrari Black (now Scuderia Ferrari Black) was one of these cheapies.
I will tell you now, this fragrance reminds me of 2 that I’ve experienced:
1. Dolce & Gabbana’s The One
– not in smell but in how it performs and projects
– Ferrari Black has a warm, sweet-spicy and slight woody appeal to it like The One (I’m not saying it smells like The One, it just follows a similar pattern)
– and it shares the same RESERVED projection of The One; for me, I feel like I have to spray 8 times minimum for people to notice I’m wearing this. It follows that it then shares the same versatility as The One since it is never loud enough to outright offend others
2. Burberry London
– Ferrari Black, to my nose, does smell similar to this fragrance but it is missing the tobacco smell and obviously doesn’t project or last as long
– Also doesn’t have the more obvious leather smell from London
– however, other than that, to my nose they give that similar “warm and inviting, Christmas-Winter scent” smell
Overall – the smell of this fragrance is good but the projection and longevity keep it from being something you’d value more than the $20 you’d pay for it. For what it is, it’s a good all-year-round scent especially if you’re a young one starting out in the fragrance game.

Very similar to Boss Bottled, really too alike to be taken seriously… Very nice scent, weak performance and a totally safe blind buy, completly inoffensive.

Just tried it from my father’s tonight, the weather is cold enough.
The opening is a bit harsh, then it becomes sweeter.
Don’t know if it’s olfactory fatigue, bad skin chemistry, or something else, but for less than 15 minutes, the smell becomes very weak. Didn’t expect this since my other cheap fragrances can stand at least 1 hour under the similar circumstances.
EDIT: I was wrong, the scent reappears again though still weak, so the performance is not as bad as I thought.

Tried in store. It’s a nice warm and sweet scent (plum note is interesting), but it gets a little annoyingly sweet and synthetic after 30 min. However, for the money, it is a great scent and would recommend.

Tried it in a local perfume store. Got a wrist sample and a card sample. Once the initial alcohol scent passes the fruitiness comes through. After several minutes, the vanilla chimes in. Good? Not at all. It could just be the current formulation, but the vanilla added just enough to make the sweet fruit come on as a sickly sweet melange that quickly gave me a headache. No comment on performance or sillage as I washed it off after half an hour.

perfect value for money perfume, just right fragrance for every occasion, inoffensive yet compliment getter

Scuderia Ferrari Black is what Ferrari Black should have been. Scuderia Ferrari Black is more potent with the top notes being more prominent than the regular Ferrari Black is basically smells like alcohol when first applying and was not as strong. Forget Ferrari Black and get Scuderia Ferrari Black. This is a pleasant fragrance at a budget price!

how is this in 2013, I bought this and Uomo in 2009!

I recently received a sample of this fragrance from Beautyspin, I believe, and find it to be a pleasant-smelling lightly warm-spiced, fruity fragrance, with amber and vanilla pushing forward in the drydown. Other than detecting apple, the fruits have a generic quality as do the warm-spices. While you’re not likely to stand-out wearing this fragrance, you will smell good…and it is people pleaser.
Performance was moderate on my skin; 5-6 hours of longevity and an arms-length of projection for the first 90-minutes. Does this fragrance remind me of Hugo Boss Bottled? Absolutely…they share a similar vibe, but I wouldn’t say they are identical scents.
In the end, I have Boss Bottled so having this one in my scent armory is a bit redundant. But that’s just my opinion and your mileage may vary. A 1-thumb up like for me.

I also got this as a freebie from Beautyspin. Surprisingly better than I expected! Like others have mentioned, this has undeniable similarities with Boss Bottled. Warm, spiced apple/fruit with a touch of citrus and vanilla/woody/amber base is mostly what I’m picking up. Not really my thing, but a nice scent at a very nice price point nonetheless. Average longevity and projection on me.

Received as a sample freebie in a beauty spin order. Pretty good actually. Defiantly Boss Bottled with more cinnamon to my nose. Quite spicy! Really sweet but the cinnamon provides a distinct balance that I don’t get with Boss Bottled. Lasts 6 hrs on my skin with a soft projection and sillage. I used 8 sprays second wearing sprayed in different areas and it worked quite well. This type of scent isn’t in my wheelhouse per se, but I would buy this for everyday wear with the assumption I need double my usual 4 sprays. As far as comparison to Boss Bottled, I like this better with the added spice. A gem of a value.
BART639 – :
Smells like a slightly sweeter floral tinge of Boss bottled. That’s dead on, since I own full bottle of Boss I am going to pass on this. It also feels a little more synthetic or of less quality. Longevity projection about the same maybe a little less. It does go more towards the floral side on dry down. 6/10 overall.
otetzs – :
I did not like this one mainly it smelled like the basic mens shower wash(blue water rush or like ocean scented body washes) so i dont like it but im sure it would smell good at night time during winter or spring on a guy who fits the scent
Наталья Никитина – :
A little cinnamon makes Scuderia Black a spicier, budget-friendly version of Boss Bottled.
The projection is good & the longevity is decent but could’ve been better.
An instant like for me.
JaReD – :
Actually i ordered Ferrari black and got Scuderia black. Scuderia is a little bit more citrusy at the first minutes, and thats all. This is the same old (and good) smell.
gobs – :
So what’s the difference between this and the original Ferrari Black?
Ruigie18 – :
It smells very much like Hugo Boss Bottled.
fics4136 – :
With this one I get a Boss Bottled vibe but less longevity and sillage….Great scent though just lacks in above mentioned catergories.
