As a kid, I absolutely HATED tuberose/gardenia scents like Carolina Herrera original, Jungle Gardenia, Fracas, etc. So of course I hated Sand & Sable after sniffing the tester at Walgreens. Of course it didn’t occur to me that my beloved Giorgio and Poison were just fruitier version of the same! Or, later, that Marc Jacobs’ & Michael Kors’ millennial signature scents were just more aquatic versions of the ol’ gardenia & tuberose.
Now, I really wish I had a bottle of the S & S from the ‘80s, as I’m sure it smelled richer and better than the current version (which I pick up 1x/year when they sell those little Coty sprays for $5). I do like what’s available now, as it’s simple and easy to wear while still getting its point across: a beachy, clean, cheerful jasminey tuberose with a bit of peach and lilac. It’s what little girls think of as a “perfume” smell, which is not a bad thing. It’s accessible & likeable— and yes, it does remind me of green Prell shampoo. Yum!

Sand and Sable is a nice fragrance and deserves a better name. How anyone came up with that name is beyond me. There’s nothing particularly sandy and/or sabl-ey about it.
Anyway, SaS is soft and warm with a peachy note. This inexpensive scent manages to smell far better than one would expect. It’s definitely better than other Coty fragrances which tend to thin out and sour on me. I applied SaS after L’Effleur, and the difference couldn’t be greater.
Granted, L. is an old vintage and SaS is modern vintage.
I usually prefer the older frags but in this case the new frag on the block wins.

I love this. I will be buying more soon, it smells like the one I loved as a teen. I especially enjoy it layered with Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar spray perfume, it gives it the perfect boost and seems to amplify what I enjoy about it.

Like many gals who grew up in the 80’s, I had a bottle of Sand & Sable. I always loved this back then. To me, back then it made me feel/had a slight “sexiness” to it. Made me feel “grown up”. So, to humor myself, I would eye this up when in the big box store, but never bought the ‘new’ (can I say, the modern version now has a tacky cheap looking body-mist-looking bottle..?!?) Sand & Sable…until now. Sand & Sable now has a sharpness that I do not remember. Yes,it is white floral, and goodness knows I love white florals and clean scents, but something here is too “screeching” now to me..I have tried spritzing from far away and ‘walking into’ the fragrance, and also I have tried spritzing my clothes before wearing, and as a last resort, I spritzed a blouse washed in fragrance free laundry detergent and fragrance free fabric softener..and this still is screechy for me. Boo…perhaps this will mellow if I let it get a little older..? It is okay, I guess..just not the great love that I remember, unfortunately…
FWIW, I have Michael Kors Jennifer Aniston’s original perfume, and MK 24k Brilliant Gold, all mentioned here as ‘remind me of’..but none of those remind me of Sand & Sable..I can see maybe how it might for some, but Sand Sable is just too screechy for me..and this is from a gal who loves white florals..Sad..not only has the bottle changed for the worse, the fragrance itself is no longer a love for me..Feels like it is scrubbing my nose with a brillo pad..ouch!! :/ 🙁 Those who love this, I am jealous, I wish this was the love that I remember..:( :/

This starts out and remains a cringe-inducing gardenia bomb on me. I’ve learned that I am not a gardenia fan.

day 1 sprayed in the bathwater. lovely. dried off, applied with a q-tip to skin pulse points so as to not gas everybody else. really pretty. i don’t have the notes figured out yet.
this is an 80s powerhouse, so recommend the q-tip method. not a sprayer.
the name is so wrong for this fragrance.
Day 2 this is a one spray on the knees UNDER your jeans fragrance so as to not gas everybody else. Absolutely lovely. I still like it in the bath water the best. Or apply with a Q-tip.
I don’t get beachy from this. I get the Gardenia bush of my neighbor along with the greenery, stems, and leaves. Very Southern US.
I like this one better than Island gardenia. Island gardenia has a popcorn butter butyric acid? note that is nice, but I like sand and Sable better

After the overwhelming chemical opening (reminds me of chemical laundering), it is pure tropical beach Tuberose. There are occasional wafts of peach hours in. It sits close to the skin I can see this as being used like a body spray or great for layering. Safe for over spraying as long as you can take the first half hour. Spray before you leave the house and you will be beachy by the time you get to your destination.

I’m not a fan of Sand And Sable. I mainly get gardenia from this, and I don’t like gardenia very well. I’m not offended by the fragrance, but I don’t find myself ever reaching for this scent. I’d recommend this to anyone who loves a gardenia fragrance, but that person is not me.

I agree with all the reviews that say “creamy”. When I spray this on my skin, I get this comforting feeling overtaking me. Imagine a suede blanket, fresh tuberose bouquet and a vanilla cupcake…relaxing on a day off from work.
That being said, if you over-spray and it lands on synthetic material – like polyester or the like – the sillage increases dramatically and it becomes overpowering and almost synthetic feeling. So beware – spray lightly and on the skin.
Also, I agree with other reviewers who say that this scent does not “develop over time”. The notes are blended in such a way that it stays the same from application to the wear-off point. I usually don’t like that in a fragrance, but because this is a cologne and a tuberose, I’m fine with it in this fragrance.

Gardenia and jasmine. Mostly jasmine. Very inoffensive, almost has a fresh shampoo smell. I like it for home because I wore it in 7th grade so it brings me back to simple times. It is a simple scent. On me it smells the same from start to finish but that’s what I like about it. Just a simple scent for all ages. Clean and simple.
    EDIT :
Layered with B&B At The Beach lotion. Really brought out the beach warm sand scent.

Sears had Holiday Mini stocking stuffers for $3.99 so I grabbed a bottle of this tonight.
Still packs a punch! Longevity is good ! It’s not quite a “cheapie” because it’s $28.00 …. for a full bottle at Wal*Mart no less!
One of the better “drug store classics” that’s still available.

I used to love this when I was a teen! I tried it recently a few times( even bought it) but its lost its appeal. Sadly I gave it away before i found Fragtantica. I have only so much tolerance for strong white florals…just too much tuberose, gardenia too sweet…and it fades to nothing in a few hours.
Don’t get me wrong if I was going to the beach or hanging out at a tiki bar this might be perfect. The reviewer who says it reminds her of dog shampoo might not remember, Prell shampoo is very similar to this scent! Its very 1980s and I font mean that in a bad way. Just not appealing to me currently.
Lady Stetson is my Coty of the moment 🙂

I used to wear this a lot as a teenager during the 80’s. I remember thinking it smelled just like the beach. I recently purchased a small bottle to revisit the fragrance. It is definitely a gardenia fragrance which I like, but the suntan lotion vibe is not quite the same. Either my memory is faulty or they have reformulated this. It’s still a nice fragrance, just not quite how I remembered.

This exceeded my expectations by far. Knocked it out of the park. I expected something very different. This smells like summer vacation to me. The peach is just right and keeps it from being too white floral. For the price, what more can you ask for?

Well this reminds me of one thing and that’s the only thing I smell in this and that smell is of my little Chihuahua after he has his bath. Seriously it reminds me of his dog shampoo smell, must be the animalic note in Sand & Sable lol. Don’t think I can wear this for that reason, it’s not unpleasant but it just puts me off a bit.

    Sand and sable.
Todays version of S&S opens very chemical. After about 15min it settles down and the peach, gardenia surface. Tuberose and rose eventually join in.
It reminded me of frederic malles gardenia room spray. The gardenias are very close. Im going to save buckets of $ and use S&S instead and spritz a bit on me. The vintage version was much more creamier, depth and body. Its still a solid buy for summertime cheapies..so oil up with your hawaiian tropic and wear this ontop with your cute bathing suit cover up and flip flops and head to the beach.

I have the cologne spray in the tubular bottle, going to track down some of the edt in the circular perfume bottle.
Rich, buttery, dare I say narcotic? Done in the same vein as my beloved Chloe Narcisse but with tubereuse in place of the narcissus. Fun and heavenly. My only issue is the drydown becomes that same chemical scent I find in the new Giorgio Beverly Hills.
I was going to buy a very expensive niche tubereuse until I smelled this. It has the exact vibe I was looking for at a ridiculously low price.
    Love for me.

Being in the mood for a new summer frag, and being crazy about white flowers (especially tuberose), I decided to give the famous Sand $ Sable a try since it comes to mind every time I think of white flowers.
I see why it’s a favorite. Very similar to my beloved original Michael Kors (THE tuberose scent, IMO) at a fraction of the price, this is a win-win for me.
I sprayed S&S on one wrist and MK on the other. At first spray S&S comes off as dirtier than MK. Say MK’s slutty sister. MK is definitely classier. But at the dry down they become almost exactly one and the same (on me). S&S is a bit creamier and MK is a bit greener. Considering the difference in price, I am over the moon with my purchase. I still adore MK, but since it’s so pricey I will wear that on special occasions and will wear S&S when I’m going through a tuberose withdrawal ( which can happen when I’m just sitting around at home).
So yes, chalk me up as another S&S cult follower.

You can read my first initial review of this one if you scroll down a bit, but since I wrote it I have come to love tuberose. Now that I have discovered many other wonderful white floral/tuberose scents I can come back to this one and really appreciate the amazing quality for the price. If you want a summery white floral that isn’t too timid or bland give this a go, it has a creamy quality that very slightly reminds of Monoi eau des vahines, but I found that one to be too ylang heavy for my liking.

This perfume has a very lush exotic smell. It smells woody and spicy with floral undertones. It reminds me of suntan lotion- a very good smelling suntan lotion!… I want to get my hands on a bottle!

Sand & Sable is enormous blooming white gardenia, creamy and clean and beachy, elegant and sweet and soapy and solar. It’s the euphoria of the first day walking into a beach condo, the anticipation of a glorious summer beach vacation spread out wide before you, all the endless possibilities, seemingly-endless opportunities for relaxation, not a thought yet of having to leave, just pure joy and ease and delight.
I really can’t even say enough good things about the high. My mom says it reminds her of her mom’s prized vintage Chanel No. 5 and that it’s classy; she gives it two thumbs up. Yet I can rarely bring myself to spray it on again because the first 20 minutes are near-misery. Watery eyes, stinging nose, fighting my way through what feels like a chemical cloud. Still, I’m glad I have it for if the mood ever strikes me. And it was revolutionary for its time! I love it and wish I didn’t get such a smack at the beginning.
Totally worth it for the next-to-nothing price, worth just trying for the price. A few notes on comparisons: Michael Kors is sweeter with a waft of smoky incense; Jennifer Aniston (Lolavie) is cleaner and a bit sharper but my favorite equivalent; Michael Kors 24K Brilliant Gold is richer and sharper with decidedly more jasmine; Jovan Island Gardenia is more fruity and banana-y. I haven’t tried White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum, even though it is said to have been worn by Princess Kate for the royal wedding – but it’s $150 and I think the bottle is ugly!
Sand & Sable is still the most elegant and euphoric to my tastes by far.

What memories this brings back for me, a teen of the 80’s. So I pulled out my vintage bottle from the collection. I am thinking this was from the 80’s and it’s preserved itself perfectly. The original is a silage bomb and very potent compared to todays fragrances. This is pure ocean beach! One of the most feminine scents out there. It’s just so damn good that Michael Kors and Jennifer Anniston had to copy it.
If you can locate a vintage bottle and you are cool with Gardenia then I think you might enjoy it. I have not smelled the current formulation and I am afraid to even try. Something about this vintage concoction seems to never render or turn but I am speaking from my bottle only. This one was not kept out of light or anything and it still smells perfect. A real head turner and the ultimate summer fragrance.

When I was growing up, I somehow got a sniff of this at a store somewhere, and ever since then it has been THAT perfume. I didn’t know why I liked it so much. But I knew it was different from all the other “perfumey” smells and I just felt like it was so special and grown up- “off-limits” somehow.
The ironic thing is how utterly accessible this is. A drugstore beauty and so inexpensive.
Well guess what? Now I’m a grown up and I realize that I just love white florals. This gardenia is sweet, kind of buttery, a little shampooish as some have mentioned, but very smooth and fun. Feels like a creamy, relaxed kind of scent that hugs the wearer and whispers, “Come live at the beach. We have flowers. You don’t even need shoes.”

This had a lot of promise for me from all the good reviews and the sound of the notes and comparisons to the smell of suntan lotion. I purchased the gift set of a small and a large bottle, brand new on Amazon.
I like the smell of it from the spray nozzle. It’s somewhat buttery and creamy which I like a lot. But on me, one spray, it was so strong and gave me a headache. It was that kind of reaction you get when you become a little nervous and feel you have to wash it off. I tried to let it settle a while but it didn’t really get better. Disappointing because I do like the scent, but something in it does not agree with me. I also noticed a large piece of some kind of debris floating in the bigger bottle, which I hate to see in any perfume. It makes me wonder what got in there.

To anyone who grew-up in the 80’s and 90’s, you’ll know what I mean: This is a big memory scent, as many women wore this everywhere and it’s pretty much a doppelganger for the scent of “Prell” shampoo. This sort of soapy-sweet gardenia was as common a bath and body care scent in 80’s and 90’s shampoo and bath wash, as raspberry vanilla is today.
While those who dislike gardenia will very likely dislike “Sand and Sable”, it is a more accessible gardenia for those who are not big white, tropical floral lovers. It has all the notes you’d expect from a big, glamorous white floral scent but with none of the musky carnality and petal waxiness.
The gardenia in “Sand and Sable” is fairly spare, more like a note of generic sunscreen than like an imitation of Polynesian Tiare oil. Still, its creamy expansiveness makes it unmistakably gardenia. The other white florals are well blended and have a lush but distant character and it seems a solar musk mixed with sunscreen-on-sand note takes center stage and the white florals just dance in the background.
That crumbly-sweet sandalwood amber type of blend, mixed with a wash of white florals, is what sets “Sand and Sable” apart from other fleshy soliflore gardenia scents, like “Jungle Gardenia” and Jovan’s “Island Gardenia”.
There is something more accessibly polite and family oriented about this Gardenia blend and I can see why it became sort of THE scent of 80’s body products, while more formal versions of this type of scent, that required a commitment to white florals — like “Jessica McLintlock”, “Anais Anais” and “White Shoulders” — dominated an early – mid 80’s sensibility that was branded with Princess Diana’s puffed dress seen around the World and Laura Ashley’s Victoriana revival.
“Sand and Sable” is sort of the beachy, natural fibers dress and straw sunhat version of this type of scent. It will be satisfying to anyone who wants a casual version of that aesthetic.

This is one fragrance where I have to say that I loved and miss the original formulation. The old scent was very tropical, but not in a candy-sweet pina colada way or in a synthetic tanning-lotion way. It was just a beautiful scent that conjured images of the most perfect evening on the most pristine beach on the most secluded, yet all-inclusive island.
The new formulation is pleasant enough, but the white florals are front, center, and overpowering. The ultra-lush romance at the posh tropical resort is pretty much gone. Still a decent affordable summer scent, but it’s not the beautiful fragrance it was. I keep hoping they’ll remake it again, back to its original magic. Great scent memories attached to this one for me, in the vintage version. The new one is like some pleasant memory that you can’t quite fully recall… you know it was nice, but you can’t quite get back there in your mind– like when you wake up and know you had a great dream, but as hard as you try you can’t remember the dream itself.

I love this perfume soooo much! I was very picky with what I was looking for but this website has helped me find something that I love! Thank you to all who review perfumes to help us find something we can each individually enjoy!
This perfume reminds me of my mom because when I was little my mom owned a small hair salon and her customers bought her different perfume for Christmas. She put them all on her dresser and I would stare and sniff them and I remember thinking that sand and sable smelled the best!
years Later as an adult I asked a co-worker what perfume should I get because she always bought different ones and she said michael kors was a good one and so I went to the mall after work and bought it!
I loved that perfume but felt it was too expensive to buy over again.
Anyways I always was trying to find a perfume like the michael kors one but without the large price tag.
I have joy because this site helped me find sand and sable and yes it smells exactly like michael- michael kors!
so not only am I reliving my sweet childhood at Christmas time smelling my mom’s perfume on her dresser but I get to have the scent I have been looking for!!! I feel this perfume was always meant to be mine!!!
    Thanks All XOXO

I blind bought this having no idea what it smelled like. It was on sale for $5 for a 50 ML bottle at Walmart. It’s taken me a week to try it because when I got home and read the fragrantica notes I realized I had bought a tuberose scent. My least favorite note. Now that I’m wearing it I am happy to say it’s nowhere near as cloying as many tuberose/gardenia scents. I was also very careful to apply lightly, I just lightly spritzed a wrist and rubbed it along my arms. A dear fragrantica friend sent me a few tuberose scents to test awhile back and I can agree that this one IS very similar to Michael Kors which as it turns out was the one scent out of the samples she sent that I preferred the most. This is a warm, creamy fruity/tropical/banana tuberose. I don’t feel like running off to bathroom to scrub, like I said it’s not overwhelming or screechy at all. This one just may grow on me.

This was one of the first ‘grown up’ perfumes my mother bought me that wasn’t a hand-me-down from her collection. It was never her style (‘too sweet’) but the white floral notes were, in her eyes, acceptable for a 12 year old to wear on special occasions.
It’s sweet and summery, the gardenia and peach tempered beautifully by the green notes. It still remains one of the only compositions with those notes that I can wear with my chemistry.

The vintage of this is lovely. Jasmine, gardenia with a little fruity flavor from the peach. Strong and lasting.

A pretty, soft white floral scent with a lot of greenness and a fizzy, sparkling peachy note. I usually prefer an opulent, heady, creamy white floral but Sand and Sable is more fresh and casual, so if that’s more your thing then you may enjoy this fragrance. It has moderate sillage but slightly short longevity, as it is an EDC. It’s very inexpensive and smells lovely.

I’m not a fan of either gardenia or tuberose, yet somehow the green notes temper them beautifully in here. Very fresh and not at all heavy on the dry-down. It’s summer in a bottle!

Fragrance Review For Sand & Sable By Coty
Notes: Peach Green Notes Rose Gardenia Jasmine Tuberose
Enchanting and easy to wear fragrance of white flowers, very similar to the fragrance Island Gardenia by Jovan. Island Gardenia is decidedly more tropical, more floral and turns into a distinct plumeria or tiare form of gardenia. Sand & Sable is fruitier, sweeter, and more youthful. I used to wear it in high school, at a time when fruity body mists were not that popular and teen girls wore “their mother’s perfume” or frags that would be considered “mature” by today’s standards. I’m not one to put a label on a person much less a fragrance. For me there’s no mature/young fragrances as they are just smells and don’t have an age or pair of genitals. I wear whatever I like as far as my clothes and fragrances and everyone is free to make up their own mind as to what fragrances suit them best. I’m also very fortunate my skin chemistry can handle anything. Sand & Sable takes me back. I’m walking in high school hallways and I never sprayed liberally but the scent was always there for me.
This is a sweet perfume. It opens with delicious peach which is one of my favorite fruit scents. The peach I remember smelling would pass for synthetic and even cheap today but I always thought Coty was a tad superior in quality than Avon frags. I’ve since learned that both Coty & Avon make high quality amazing fragrances which are affordable luxuries. This is one of them. The peach note suddenly combines with a vanilla scented powder. This is also the gardenia giving off a sweet aroma of vanilla. It’s a definite gardenia scent. The tuberose it’s paired up with is fragrant and creamy, buttery, sweet. There’s also a white rose scent and a jasmine. So bottom line if you like florals and especially white flowers like gardenia, tuberose jasmine and white roses, this fragrance will be white flower heaven for you. Unlike hardcore white flower power scents like White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor or Giorgio Beverly Hills, this is more delicate, sweeter and really doesn’t wear like a common or typical white floral fragrance.
The fragrance is still selling on ebay and Fragrance X internet sites for a ridiculously low price of about 9 bucks. Get it while you can if you’re a fan of affordable floral fragrances. It used to be one of my favorite fragrances until I discovered Coty’s Lady Stetson which I wore to my Senior Prom! This one however will always remind me of carefree days, sleepovers, school dances, first kisses, summer holidays on Long Island and girlfriends sharing secrets in pajamas. The scent is still exactly the same as I remember it. I’ve bought it recently and was impressed at how it’s the same fragrance from my youth. If you are still interested in buying it after reading this review, this frag is also in the same category of white florals as celebrity perfumes like Truth or Dare Madonna Tease by Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.

mmmm…have been wearing this for the past week since i rediscovered a small bottle i bought at Christmas time a few years ago when the older Coty Classics were special edition for 3 dollars. I used to wear this quite a bit long ago and liked it a lot back then. Now after trying so many gourmands, body sprays and beach scents I find this refreshing and real. It is a little harsh at the top but that disappears within minutes and it becomes a fresh but creamy white floral. Light but slightly heady and addicting! I get mostly the tuberose and gardenia, but the green notes are there, along with the jasmine to me. Every now and again I pick up almost some sweet honeysuckle… It is a mostly linear fragrance for sure, but this is actually part of what I like. I don’t enjoy my florals going to musk. This doesn’t happen here with Sand & Sable. It stays true to its white flowers and slight fruitiness. I also like the name because I find it a very casual fragrance that would be totally appropriate for evening if desired. It is

I blind bought thus one based on the good reviews here, without high hopes because it was so cheap and “old”. Wow, I got a big surprise when I sprayed this on, settled I to watch some tv and smelled what I thought was Michael Kors. It was amazing how similar this perfume smelled to MK. I have both, sprayed sand and sable on one hand and Michael Kors on the other and I seriously could not tell the scents apart. Great dupe for MK and a this one has clearly stood the test of time. Its sillage is great too. It seems to last forever( all day)on me.

There is one review that calls it a comfy blanket. I have learned it has that power. I shied away from it because my daughter does not like tuberose. I sprayed some on my “toes” one night after showering, thinking the alcohol will kill off any thing still hanging on the toes. I also wanted the tuberose to not be directly up my nose. I crawled into bed and this wonderful experience happened. The gardenia and the tuberose came over me like a sensual Midsummer’s Night Dream. Hmmm? what goes on in the power of the mind? When I was a teen, I would sit outside in a lawn chair in Corpus Christi, TX,and the gardenia(from a neighbor’s house?) and the sea air would make me sleepy. Thank God I have found that comfy scent. In spite of other reviews, I find the smell stays on me, the night clothes and sheets quite well. In short, I have found a wonderful smell that helps me sleep and smells like heaven. I have worn it to work, but I love this private affair I have at home at night in my boudoir. I will be buying more of it now. Enjoy! and btw, my toes look healthy, too!

Ahhh Sand & Sable! Probably my all time favorite fragrance. I fell in love with this delicious scent in the late 80’s & wore it every day! Sadly, you get what you pay for… It just doesn’t last. I found myself spraying & spraying 5-6 times a day! On me, it lasts about an hour, like a body spray. Sprays on fresh & aromatic then in an hour POOF- Gone. Very disappointing as I would absolutely wear this every day of my life if someone would formulate it in a perfume!
The first initial spray though, Ahhhhh intoxicating!

Great Gardenia scent, a bit more complicated and complex than Jovan’s Island Gardenia but in the same vein. Lasts well, great versatile scent. White floral lovers should at least give it a sniff!

  40. :

A fresh, light gardenia fragrance. Very light for a white floral; the rose and fruit softens the floral notes appealingly. I accidentally sprayed a bit too much on myself but not headache inducing at all, which is amazing for a white floral. Soft and creamy, almost edible. Clean, friendly, and laid back. I can understand the beach references but I get more of a sunny day in late May vibe. Feminine but unpretentious, happy and easy going; a very pretty fragrance that still manages to be grown up.
Edit: I just put this on again today – it’s a busy day and I don’t have time to think about what I’m wearing – and my coworker raved about how much she liked it. I think I have a new convert, lol!

I love the sensuality of white flowers, but I have a very hard time wearing them with my skin chemistry. This fragrance is excellent-it seems to melt into my skin rather than sitting on top of it. The scent in rich but light, very creamy, and warm but bright. There is a definite coconutty creaminess which makes the scent very reminiscent of summer. It may not be appropriate for all seasons, but I think I will be spraying this on all year because it makes me feel happy!

I’m not sure why I’d overlooked this one for so long, but I’m glad to have found it now. SAND & SABLE is a straightforward, uncomplicated gardenia scent and for me, that’s the long and short of it. The scent might not be subtle or multi-faceted or transcendent or any other adjectives of this nature, but it smells like gardenias and not room spray. Plus, it manages to do this inexpensively.
For me, it’s a casual, day scent. Although I often prefer to wear floral fragrances in the spring and summer, I find that the spiciness of the gardenias makes SAND & SABLE more versatile for year-round wear. One spray is enough as it starts out strong, but overall sillage is moderate. Longevity on me is 4-6 hours.

Received this today, it is absolutely beautiful. I do not find it similar to Jovan’s Gardenia, this is even better. The peach is light and fresh, not overly sweet, I also get cherries from this. It’s a real shame this isn’t more well known because it is so much better than many modern white florals. It makes me feel romantic.

This perfume sounds wonderful..i don’t know how I’ve gone this long without knowing about it. It has all my favorite notes ,considering I love heavy white flower perfumes. Tuberose, Gardenia, and jasmine. To me, of it smells like this, I like it heavy and when I do find it and buy one ,ill probably spray it on all day! Can’t wait to try this!!!

I had just bought a back-up-bottle of Jovan’s Island Gardenia (my fave drug store scent of all time) and just today a flea market vendor had a table of COTY gift sets for a mere $4.00 each!
I was shocked at how much this smells like Island Gardenia! I mean almost exactly! The main difference is that Island Gardenia has a faint touch of coconut. Sand & Sable has a faint touch of peach (albeit a synthetic peach). This….seems like the only difference between the two.
Both are “drug store gems” ! Heady & narcotic.
I really like this so much and for all the snobs out there; YES there are some gem frags at Wal*Mart and CVS worth seeking out.
Again: my highest rating of PNDT (please never discontinue this)
I have 2 back-up-bottles of Sand & Sable in my dresser drawer!
Like another person on here said “Slap a Dior label on the bottle– call it ‘Dior Narcotique Blanc’ and these would fly off the shelves @ $59.99 a pop”. LOL

I don’t get the name of this perfume at all. There is nothing to remind me of Sand or Sable. Which is probably good, who wants to smell like a wet furry animal that has spent all day splashing in the ocean and is covered in sand??
Gorgeous overload of creamy white floral which dizzies the senses when first applied.
Fortunately it dries down quite quickly and there is just a gorgeous bouquet of Gardenia.
I can still smell this 12 hours later pleasantly wafting up with the warmt
