Blind bought this flanker due to positive reviews & cheap price. I also had the original with the blue juice way back and really loved it. The opening of samourai katana is thick, dense, old school barber shop that reminds me of my uncles pomade. I literally choked on the cough syrup opening. I waited for about 1 hour for the dry down. It has a powdery vibe, i could pick the rose note which reminds me of some expensive middle eastern scents. Sadly I cant detect vetiver, no hint at all. The dry down is beautiful & elegant but dated. Projection & longevity is a beast. This is best for winter or cold nights & might be offensive in the summer.
I cant see myself wearing this often. I do not recommend this for blind buy.
If you are into 80’s fragrances like lapidus, armani pour homme etc. this beautiful fragrance is for you.

A great alternative to the discontinued m7. Very woody and manly. Lasts a long time

Unusual male scent with awesome longevity (you can sniff it out after many days after application -on clothes of course) and good, balanced projection. Jasmine and rose mix with sandal wood with pinch of pink pepper. For me it is real-I don’t afraid use this word – masterpiece. It smells very manly in spite of it’s rich in floral chords. Very refined scent on special occasion. Hunt it!

Seconding Hadrian’s observation an amped up version would be an ’80s powerhouse… and its counterpart exists! To me, Samourai Katana by Alain Delon is a more complex, more wearable, and by far more affordable, take on the same story as told by Dior’s Eau Sauvage Parfum.
I am astonished at the quality of this fragrance at this price point. Quite possibly my new obsession.

A surprisingly good perfume! I blindly bought it, two days ago, in a modest and unexpected everything–you–need shop in the centre of Paris, at an incredible price: 10.90 euro!
Alain Delon’s Samouraï Katana is a well blended mixture of pepper and rose – basically, a sweet & quasi–erotic perfume in the dry–down, with a lot of spices distilled in a woody olfactory ambient. Is it entirely natural? Properly, no – by the book, and by the nose. But, still, it is a wonderful fragrance.
A breathtaking quality vs. price ratio. If stronger, AD’s SK will be a real 80’s powerhouse. It is destined for those who love masculine floral scents, in the very good tradition of Guerlain’s Heritage – plus a touch of pepper, as I said!
    Overall, a deserved 8,2 / 10

    Just amazing !
    From the first spitz,very woody/citrus.
    Then soft mellow woods.
    Dry-down:soft sweet woods.
    A very sensual/sexual fragrance,stays close to skin.
Amazing longevity,up to 6/7 hours on me.
    Sillage,ok but not amazing.
    Projection,worth the money.
    Longevity,excellent.

I received this fragrance today and from the first spritz I could tell that I will enjoy this one. It is not a loud scent on me it dies down to a skin scent after about 2 hours though I can detect it throughout the day- wafts of vetiver and a soft cedar .
In the opening I get soft citrus and well mixed pepper accord- not strong but blended smoothly. Not long before I detect vetiver running throughout the fragrance- this is nice as I find it gives it a nice masculine feel balancing the rose and jasmine.
This will be a fragrance I will have to spritz throughout the day to enjoy. My skin soaks up fragrances so on others it may well be different but I really enjoy this scent. It harks back to a bygone age, I feel. There is that familiar vetiver that is perfectly blended to give a creamy mix to the rest.
I like this. It is a nice change to find a new scent that doesn’t scream synthetic mess.
