Can someone please help me? Perhaps someone who owns this scent. If you spray Safanad on a tester and leave it for a day or two, what is that dry-down smell? What are the notes of the ultimate dry-down? I need to know because I need to favorite them and look for more fragrances with the same dry down. I’m not kidding. Who knows honestly? Not based on what you see in the pyramid but who really knows by nose? I’m obsessed and need to figure out how to afford this juice.
BTW, I find JPG Classique vile, so I don’t get all the comparisons.

Beautiful perfume unfortunately has pool longevity, on my skin approx 2hrs max.

And then, 30 minutes in, came the PEAR. Yesssss!
Very “smooth, sweet, fruity floral on a bed of warm, warm sandalwood”, but done so, so right. Creamy. I don’t find the orange blossom in Elie Saab particularly pleasing, but in Safanad it’s beautiful (and, along with the sandalwood, very dominant).
Occasionally i get the slightest whiff of something almost… toothpaste-y, like a very polite wake-up call to my sinuses. Ylang? Or orange? They both tend to trick my nose into believing they’re mint now and then
Longevity is very good. Sillage is just ok on me.

On me this is a mix of many other things I have worn, at different stages. It starts off as a dead ringer for jpg classique then the bitter orange note comes through. It settles down to one of the alien summery flankers with lots of orange blossom (or a number of elie saabs eg le parfum or white) before a brief hypnotic poison / alien essence absolu stage and then back to the orange blossom alien flanker. I do like it through all of its stages and it consistently smells good quality on my skin… And it lasts over 8 hours, with a couple of those having pretty good projection, which on my skin is amazing.

The comparisons with Classique are correct, but I find Safanad more enjoyable to wear. I get a lot of licorice from Classique; Safanad has licorice too, but it’s far more restrained here. I get wafts of syrupy rootbeer here and there, but the note doesn’t have a dominant place in this fragrance. Safanad is a lot brighter than Classique.
Safanad is mostly an orange blossom honey with a rich undercurrent of amber and sandalwood. I don’t get a creamy texture, mostly syrup and a touch of oil. The citrus is present but not sharp, which I like. Honey isn’t listed, but this is pure honey to me. It’s possible that the vanilla/amber/sandalwood combo makes me think ‘honey.’
This fragrance makes me think of an Arabian queen dressed in spun gold, hanging out in her budoir on a warm summer evening–a Gustav Klimt painting in a bottle. It’s heavy and oriental, a granddaughter of Chanel’s Coco. Beautiful, really. I plan on wearing it on chilly nights, in open spaces.
EDIT: Ah, how unfortunate that this fragrance doesn’t have the lasting power of others from this house. Lasts about three hours on me, so it isn’t dismal, but it transforms from sweet orange blossom to powdery iris and licorice in the final stages of its dry down. Smells a lot like a diluted Hypnotic Poison when it gets to this stage. Still pretty, but disappointing in this way.

For this few months I am quite obsessed with orange blossom due to its diversity of smell when blended with different notes. When it is blended with vanilla, like this one, it becomes a sweet, warm and sexy scent. Whereas blended with jasmine and other green notes, it becomes a plant-like scent which reminds me of mid-summer night or the summer time sitting or walking under the shade of trees when the temperature is hot enough to burn you. It is incredible that orange blossom can have such diversity and I am therefore deeply fascinated by it.
This is not the first perfume of the brand that I tried but definitely the favourite one. I got my first bottle of perfume of Parfums de Marly at the dutyfree of Dubai airport when I was flying back home during summer holiday. At first I was choosing among Creed’s when the staff recommended Delina, which was new and exclusive at that time, to me. It is a unique scent and the design of the bottle is beautiful. That made me buy it without second thought but I am not regretting it even today.
And this perfume, Safanad, seduced me when I first knew it by its warmness and voluptuousness. I don’t know if it is just me but the immediate thought when I smelled this fragrance is that ‘wow it is soooooooo sexy’. Sometimes a few fragrances can give me a concrete image or a kind of specific feeling when I catch the smell. Just like Chanel No5 was created under the demand of Gabrielle Chanel as ‘woman-like’ and the ‘falling-in’love’ feeling that Chloe Love Story edt gives me, this fragrance strike my chord of image and scent regarding sexiness. I have never smelled of a scent that is so good before.
Its orange blossom and vanilla are strong sine the very beginning. I literally cannot smell other notes as these two are really strong and prominent, or maybe it’s just that my nose is more sensitive to these notes? It lasts long and perform well on my skin. When I tried it on my skin, I could even smell it on the next day.
Its warmness, its creaminess, its sweetness, its floralness… All of them are blended so well to mark the success and completeness of the scent. If I could only own one perfume, the choice would undoubtedly be made between this one and Reve de Cashmere by Van Cleef and Arpels. Go try this one if you like warm scents. It will never disappoint you.

Second time I have worn Safanad, and I think it is one of the best from Parfums de Marly along with Habdan. Nice blend of vanilla, yang ylang, amber, sandlewood and orange blossom. I can’t pick up the pear or iris, but nevertheless I love it.
Initial blast reminds me of a root beer float, its fizzy opening is also reminiscent of the JP classique that I wore 20+ years ago as others have noted. But this time around all the notes are working better and it’s a couple of notches above my memory.
This has lasting power, about 5 hours then turning to a skin scent after the top notes wear off. On me there is light projection during the first two hours. I’m not a fan of this brands retail price tag, but full bottle worthy when I picked it for a song on eBay.

Wow, this scent is delicious! Charismatic and modern, this fragrance gives a fantastic sex-appeal orange blossoms that harmonize with the pear and the iris while the ylang peeks a little at a time …. a sensual and cozy scent, i would like to try it on cold days In the winter. I love this noble perfume, i really like!! ❤
    Sillage: 8./10

I love Safanad. I think it’s a beautiful, soft, gentle, feminine perfume, which is creamy, soothing, and very easy to wear, and always makes me feel loved and cared for. It’s very smooth and well-balanced, with lovely citrus smells, flowers and the pear and ylang-ylang are deliciously sweet and comforting. The sandalwood is very beautiful, and the amber.
I wear it often. It’s very lovely. I feel very happy in it.

As I sprayed safanad for the first time,it reminded me a familiar fragrance, which I used to love and I still love it,it was even my signature scent for couple of months,Jean paul Gautier classique..I own and love edp version of classique,a boozy, powdery, creamy vanillic fragrance with dominant rose, rum, vanilla and orange blossom..ofcourse there is no rose here and this is the biggest difference for me,there is not also rum listed as a note.though I can detect it..the other difference is about safanads cozy, deep warmness which I find really pleasant
Safanad opens somehow fruity,boozy..I can smell sweet orange, ripe pear and some rum..soon orange blossom and vanilla become dominant, very powdery..there is not much changes in drydown,it becomes warmer and creamier
Longevity and sillage are very good for me,and I received lots of great comments on it,people find it sexy, smooth and delicious..JPG classique is very love/hate kind of perfume..safanad seems to be more appealing to majority and more wearable but still not a safe gift or an office friendly scent
I love vanilla dominant scents, specially when they are powdery, not candyish sweet and have some orangey citrus notes, boozy notes or spices blended with vanilla,so I looove safanad..if you love orange blossom and powdered vanilla ,don’t miss it
Longevity and sillage are both very good
    ❤❤❤❤

Gents: do NOT let the marketing and packaging fool you! This is easily a mens fragrance. It is on the floral side but there is an amazing boozy vibe I get off of this like Grand Marnier with the orange blossom and amber and sandalwood. It’s sweet, yes.
I fond myself very critical of Marly’s offerings goven their price and how poorly they perform on my skin (though I know I am in the minority here with performance). But of the entire line’s samples I picked up: this one so far inspired an immediate purhase. Didn’t even care that it was full retail at the time. Thats how damn good this juice is.
    Yes, it’s a touch powdery.
Yes, it’s a bit floral and sweet.
    Yes, it’s marketed as a women’s fragrance.
On me, it smells like Grand Marnier or Cointreau noir with a fresh sprig of some kind of herb while sitting near a nice flower garden at dusk.
    Gorgeous just gorgeous.
    Scent: 9/10
Projection: 6/10 (my skin eats scent so this is still pretty good for me)
Sillage: 5/10 it doesn’t leave a big trail but I did walk shoulder to shoulder with someone and they told me they could still smell it for a moment after I passed.
Longevity: 7/10 it does not last as long as some Tom Fords but it does become a beautiful skin scent after a few hours-however I still am catching whifs of it 6 hours after application.

Safanad is one of the few real orange blossom-vanilla fragrances on the market. It resembles to Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classic but without the chemicals. Safanad smells so natural and creamy,so well made. On my skin it’s pure orange blossom, vanilla and honey. It’s a sensual, well crafted perfume that in the end makes me craving for orange pie. I am not into sweet perfumes as they make me crave for sweets. Safanad is gourmand ,warm and very long lasting. If you can have your mind stuck on orange cakes all day or if you like sweet orange blossom scents then it’s a must try. Very good lasting power and sillage that lingers all day long.

This is a lovely, creamy and slightly tropical smelling floral fragrance with a honey-like sweetness.
Notes are blended really well. The opening welcomes me with orange blossom and light fruity notes of pear, already sweetened by vanilla.
Ylang Ylang works really well with the orange blossom, sweet & exotic.
Iris makes it slightly powdery, very subtle so the overall scent stays creamy.
It’s definitely reminiscent of JPG Classique.
Unfortunately on my skin Safanad has poor longevity and stays really close to the skin and therefore is not worth it’s price tag in my opinion.

    „Mysterious organic Pear….”
Pear and Orange…opening notes. No mystery here…it’s been done lots of times. But this fragrance has a sort to double mystery. First, let me thank my dear friend, and member Pipette for sending me a very generous decant from her precious bottle, so I could try, and understand this unusual, and lovely fragrance. This is a Perfume House I have not heard of, nor have I seen people on other forums recommending it. I went on to their very fancy website, and looked at the other fragrances they have for offer. First of all, most of the fragrances are for men, or classed as unisex. There is one other fragrance for ladies. And ,this one as well. There seems to be some sort of connection with horses, or the names of certain breeds of horses.I won’t elaborate on this part of the fragrance..as that is Co. logo or intention). Now, on to the actual fragrance. First of all, the Pear….I am not a fan of fruity fruit orientated perfumes…so was really impressed with this pear note. I didn’t detect orange…not at first, just the pear..and it was like a burst of real..organic fresh dewy pear…just opened whilst testing the freshness at an open air market. This was just an introduction to the perfume…It sparkled for the first five minutes with the pear, then I recognized the Orange Blossom..also completely natural..like walking in an orchard in bloom. It lists Iris as a note, but very briefly got that leather handbag note, which Pipette mentioned…we all have different perceptions of notes..which is wonderful! The dry down is soft, and lovely…I pick up the Amber the most…The sandalwood and vanilla are not prominent here…but might be to another wearer. I believe this is a quite expensive perfume. I would say the ingredients are very high quality. I applied this fragrance fully, as I would as if going out…and sat and read a book. The mystery of this fragrance came in waves..weaving in and out. I was very impressed with the the whole concept. If you ever have the chance to test this…please do…it will be a chance to experience an original organic fruit scent..without that jarring fruity vibe) blending into a wonderful soft, interesting and elegant fragrance. I have a generous decant of this fragrance, but tend to save it for special occasions, at it is quite a “different, but lovely fragrance……

On me this is a orange blossem explosion and it has quite some stillage.
I hoped for more vanilla but I can hardly detect it on my skin.
It is a lovely perfume it is good in balance but just not for me.

What a nice name, reminds me of Bob Marley and the design of the bottle reminds me somehow of a car brand. So I tried and – I believe the top notes are orange and pear, but the whole impression for me was somehow more about honey with a dash oud. With the time the oud is getting stronger. As I am absolutely not a fan of oud wood, because of its masculine smell, it is not for me. Beautiful transparent bottle, reminds me of Thierry Mugler bottles (Alien Essence Liquer)

a soft and pleasant aura of citrus, white flowers, and tender vanilla.
reminds me by DIOR – NEW LOOK.
If you are looking for a tender and light vanilla scent give it a try.
    soft projection.
