This is kind of a backward perfume if you think about classic structures: It opens with luscious blooms (mostly white flowers), then civet peaks out to make it truly distinctive (no synthetic “civet” can compare); hours later, you’re left with watery rose and the sum of other notes sitting on benzoin. I say it’s “backward” because civet only shows up in the middle stages while some of the more tenacious flowers didn’t last as long as others (or maybe they did, just showing different facets). Granted it’s very nice, but leaves me wanting more.
*The wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) note is supposed to be davana (Artemisia pallens), which are different species and smell quite different.
