Description
Rouge Royal fragrance was launched in 2002. For the season of 2011, the house of Princesse Marina De Bourbon presented a new, limited edition under the name Rouge Royal Elite. The new perfume is described as a rich, sophisticated and sensual floral – fruity – woody, “a much more present, powered and sensual fragrance”.
Fruity notes of raspberry, wild strawberry and black currant open the composition with their juicy and sweet tones. The heart of the fragrance is rich with floral notes of Centifolia rose, Indian jasmine and ylang-ylang from Madagascar (rose replaced lily of the valley of the original). The base features intensive woody notes of Mysore sandalwood, Indonesian patchouli and vetiver, along with warm amber and vanilla.
Rouge Royal Elite comes in a gold bottle and red box, retaining the original design. This limited edition is available as Eau de Parfum in bottles of 50 ml and 100 ml.

I purchased the fragrance based on the strawberry note and the reviews. I really wanted to like this by I don’t like it. I don’t detect any strawberry. I think it has a masculine scent. I wanted to try the original one in the red bottle but I’m afraid I won’t like it too.

This is a very monotonous fragrance in the sense that it does not change much from the start to end. It is a raw fruit fragrance, in this case a natural strawberry with its leaves and stem. It does sweet but in a natural way, not an artificially sweet sugar bomb. The biggest disappointment with this fragrance is that it has no sillage whatsoever and cannot be smelt if you do not pressure your nose on the sprayed area.

Tart and fruity, with a warm sweet heart, kinda like yours truly. This has a pleasing sharpness to it, I absolutely adore it. It lasts forever and has a tart realism to the fruits that more sugary fruity scents lack. On first spray it might almost be a little too tart, a little too sharp, but give it a second, it’s just getting started.
The vetiver and patch make a really lovely earthy backdrop to the tart fresh fruit smells, like eating strawberries during summer rain, and the amber binds everything together with its cozy sweetness, and really all in all it’s a lovely strawberry/raspberry bundle of delicious cheap joy.
Yum, red and juicy and just yum.

My girlfriend has this one. Delicious fruity fragrance. Opens very sweet but, in only 5-10 min. this sweetness fades and reveals an adorable feminine scent. In my girlfriends skin the longevity easy surpasses 12h. Very delicate and pleasant.

I smelled this one at fragrance Outlet in mall…well the red bottle smells way better like in the Nina Ricci family of scents…but has it own persona…but yeah the gold bottle here is different with the more deeper scent…I perfer the Red Rouge Royal compare to this one…but body chemisty and oils on natural skin make things smell better on others if you know what I mean…and I have the skin that works well with most fragrances… but what smells on me, might smell fantastic on you and via versa…but yeah the red bottle from this fragrance house i feel works with more people…I had three girls with me and it smell excellent…depends…

Initially when I sprayed this on, I found it to be rather bitter to my nose. Drying down it seems to mellow out, a little bit. If you can bear the first 20 mins, maybe it could be worn. The strawberry notes are definately there, but it smells more like crushed strawberry seeds and leafs, rather than sweet, plump, juicy, sugar soaked strawberrys. The flacon has a plastic, sharp pointy lid, which I don’t like. It could be used for self defense….lol..
I bought this blind, as I do, based upon the notes listed, so I think my bottle will just have to sit there and I can try to find a more appropriate lid, or maybe it actually represents the juice inside, which is sharp and clings to your taste buds, is really not my thing at all. Alas, I so hoped I could warm to this fume, but I’ve tried three times now and I get the same result…
