a real rose just cut from the stem….

+1 for the layering.
This is a true rose whose major benefit lies in it’s ability to get along with just about anything. Works particularity well with ambroxin. As far as I can tell it has no off-notes at all – it does not sour on the skin, nor does it turn to powder.
The scent itself is a lovely soliflore with a powerful opening that fades to the elegant ghost of a rose.
A must-have for anyone who likes rosy scents, or likes playing with the idea of “a rose” in conjunction with other fragrances.

It is what it is, a rose. It’s great to mix with an amber fragrance, to warm this one up a bit, or to femme up any unisex scent. I like having this options because they can make a scent a little more specific for the day you are wearing it. Having a solo-floral scent in your closet is a great investment, and I personally like rose and orchid scents for this particular task. I picked them because they are already present in enough of my fragrances that I wouldn’t be totally disrupting the scents, and they blend well.
This particular brand is very good because it’s very subtle after an hour and settles nicely for that reason. If you find you need a little more, you can reapply and are usually given enough room so that you never feel it was too much. It’s a really good product for one who is in to niche perfuming.
