    pure, unadulterated, perfect rose.
I have never found a perfume that is named so aptly.
this is the epitome of a good, solid, classic rose. It doesn’t even smell like a rose “garden”, it just smells like millions and trillions of perfectly shaped, perfectly fragrant rosebuds. it’s like you dived into an ocean of dewy rose petals! don’t ever worry about it smelling old fashioned, there is no grandma here to be seen, anywhere. it isn’t sour at all either.
you know how some perfumes make you “feel” beautiful? this is one of the best examples of that. it exudes beauty and elegance, it really makes you feel like the most beautiful woman in the world, bar none.
If I ever have a daughter, this is the first perfume I would give her. It is that precious and blindingly perfect!
highly, highly, HIGHLY recommended to all rose-lovers.

THIS is what YSL:s Paris should have smelled like! No, not really, but I feel that this is true rose with a violet aspect and without the super powderyness of Paris. But forget Paris. Rose Perfection is clearly stunningly made and to me, loving the loud scents of this world, slightly too demure. But wait a minute- things do happen here! From the slightly spicy tang of the opening rose hug this develops both in fruity, musky and creamy ways. Its demure, yes, and pure, but really way more interesting that this sounds. Actually, I have few words for it. Exceptional creamy, dreamy, slightly violet pastille like rose with more serious undercurrents.

I get a very lush rose scent for the first 25 minutes, then it slowly becomes a very expensive shampoo smell. A lovely scent but still too much shampoo like to pay the big price for a bottle. I envy those who retain the rose scent for longer time. I wonder if Ambroxan is the responsible of this change on my skin.

I love and adore roses in perfumes, my wardrobe would have been full of ‘fumes with roses in it if not for the scents that I love. They’re either way too expensive for a full bottle (the 3 malle rose fragrance), unavailable in the local market (arabian rose and oud scents), or are hard to find like this one.
This is rose, rose, and rose. I’m still new to the game and generally base my judgment on these imaginative notes but this really smells like the queen of flowers. Some few hours later and towards the end, yes there are some notes that I can definitely say as the not rose components of the fragrance but by then I was already hooked to it.
I only need two to three sprays of this one and it could last me the day. I could wear this in all four seasons but I need to be careful during summer since its a bit powerful for that season. Oh you will be smelled when you use this one so its a plus on that one. Only used this once for work, and my cubicle smelled like rose garden while I’m around. I see this more during events since it has the longevity and projection power for it. So far this, good old Fracas and Visa which I have made me a fan of Piguet’s fragrances and hope to explore more from the brand.

My kind of rose. I can never have too much of it and I love all its interpretations; fresh, oriental, realistic, romantic, vintage. This is the case of a sultry, lipstick rose with retro undertones, swathed in black silk very feminine and chic and, happily without ANY patch! Although it has a slight, green aspect its not fresh but creamy and aromatic. There is more to it than meets the note. Musk is prominent at first and a touch of aldehydes but soon they allow other notes to shine all around a medley of blooms. I detect a fruitiness that comes in the middle phase and adds a gorgeous sweetness without crossing into jammy territory. Soon it reaches a stage where a more spirited rose appears and fruitiness turns creamy and smooth. It certainly has an oriental touch and wouldn’t be surprised if there was also a good dose of sandalwood and incense but having so many scents from that category I find Rose Perfection to be more on the modern version of it. Price aside I find this is a great variation of rose for any wardrobe and it is certainty worth trying.

A Rose By Any Other Name Would Smell As Sweet
Roses are aesthetically visually beautiful and smell just as beautiful as they look.
They are treats for the sense of sight and smell. I also love the texture and feel of rose petals. For me this fragrance is a dreamy, sensual, velvety rose. It can come on as rather strong so don’t apply liberally. It is not powdery although when it’s soft it’s still very realistic and true to the scent of roses. I detected some fresh, green floral rosebush scent, along with the bloom of a rose, a red and pink rose. As with most roses the odor profile can be described as being citrusy, deep, romantic, feminine but in this case neither soapy nor powdery.
Rose Perfection is more of a lush deep Oriental mature rose. It smells like a Middle Eastern rose cologne not a European rose perfume. There are ambers, musks, incense, some creamy tones of perhaps tuberose (unlisted) and a touch of sandalwood. The luxurious rose can be quite the experience so this is suited to experienced rose fragrance fans.
As for what time of year to wear it, this is a spring and summer rose but it can also be worn in the fall and winter. It’s an any season rose. She is also an any time of day rose. Day wear. Evening wear. But make no mistake. This gorgeous epic rose is asking you to wear her with formal and glamorous clothing, not T Shirt and jeans. I wear this to the Opera, the Symphony, wedding receptions, dinner parties and other black tie galas. As a rose fan, this hits the spot. There are many rose fragrances out there that are of this caliber: Calligraphy Rose by Aramis, Sa Majeste La Rose by Serge Lutens and La Fille de Berlin. She is unapologetically fragrant, exotic, even. This is not as dainty or as typical a rose as some might think.
I really enjoy this fragrance oh and let me finish by stating that because it has those darker touches of deep amber, resins, musk and incense, it has a unisex air so it can be worn by men who enjoy rose scents in their colognes. This is a stylish and very beautiful perfect rose fragrance captured by the same house that gave me the most memorable perfumes of my entire life like my Fracas which was my wedding day perfume. If you love rose notes in your perfume, this is going to blow you away. So beautiful. Ravishing roses.
    Thank you Robert Piguet

Well, it certainly isn’t true that when you’ve smelt one rose you’ve smelt them all!! And I certainly have never heard that said!? It couldn’t be more inaccurate!! This is a sublime sublime sublime rose perfume!!! It’s roses. Roses are the most varied of smells you can get!! There are millions of different roses, and their scents are widely varied. This perfume has a perfect blend of a few different rose fragrances, made into one beautiful bouquet – or even a beautiful rose garden, crammed with all sorts of varieties, all in varying stages of bloom. It’s completely heavenly. It has a beautiful spicy edge to it, and is very very lush. Fabulous.
The sillage is superb; everyone can smell me a few feet away, and always say how gorgeous I smell, and my husband ADORES it!!!! It’s beautiful!!! And it lasts well.
    It is Rose Perfection!!!!

A single flower he sent me since we met
All tenderly his messenger he chose
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet
    One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the floweret
‘My fragile leaves,’ it said, ‘his heart enclose
Love long has taken for his amulet
    One perfect rose.
Why is it no one ever sent me yet
One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it’s always just my luck to get
    One perfect rose

    Roses
Deep velvet red roses, almost blood red, in a fragrant bouquet. This is a gorgeous masterpiece of rose fragrances. I have worn many rose perfumes and you know what they say “you’ve smelled one rose you’ve smelled them all” but that’s not true. This is a very unique rose perfume. I can’t get over how romantic and lush it is.
This opens with green notes and a little touch of citrus because bergamot orange and or any citrus note is evocative of rose scents. The green leaves and rose bush scent is also present in the beginning. It’s a very traditional rose fragrance; and by that I mean green floral, citrusy floral and pure rose. As such it does have an elegance but a simplicity to it that is quite lovely.
There’s an amber or ambroxan chemical note in this scent that recreates the warm amber which emerges after the rose scent has settled down. Before that amber shows up it’s one big rose.
Does it project? Yes. It’s a sillage bomb but you have to apply with a light touch in order to get that lovely scent in it’s most alluring stage. This is not a powdery floral but it is deep and heady like an old fashioned Victorian bouquet of red roses. It’s the kind of roses you associate with romance, weddings, Valentines Day and love.
If you get down to what it really smells like I suppose it’s rose absolute and therefore not a hybride of any other color but pink and red roses. To me this was such a revelation of roses. I didn’t think they could smell this good in a perfume.
A luxurious nocturnal rose, it matches up with deep red or pink evening gowns that I wear when I perform as a lounge singer. She is a rather theatrical rose that wants you to wear her with beautiful gowns and dresses. So I shall.
    Beautiful

Fragrance Review For Rose Perfection By Robert Piguet
Notes: Rose Rose Rose & More Roses
I’m a slut for roses. These days I receive roses when I’m celebrating at work and friends both male and female gift me with rose bouquets. I love red roses. It’s not my all time favorite flower as I’m crazy about heliotrope but rose takes 2nd place. The rose is a mystical, romantic, magical, and enchanted flower that when turned into rosewater or perfume casts a magic spell. I do love rose based perfumes. I have so many I’ve lost count: La Rose Jacqueminot, Tea Rose, Sa Majeste La Rose, La Fille de Berlin, Rose Essentielle China Rose and many others. Rose Perfection opens up like a rose in front of your eyes. It has all the ingredients that recreate the rose garden rosebush scent: green leaves, green notes, citrus, apple, and a touch of rose scented geranium. There is a bit of a mystery to this scent as it’s up to you to identify it’s chemical composition. There is no aldehydes but I felt as if there could be. There is something sparkling and fresh like aldehydes. It is fresh and then dries into what could be a base of musk and amber. The final phase of the scent is aromatic and very smoky so that makes me think there could be a note of incense. This is not a rose patchouli but it could feel like one. I also detected some tobacco. For whatever reason tobacco leaves and rose makes for a winning combination. It’s a dark night scented rose, very elegant, classy and sexy. I find that roses are sexy (as sexy as heliotrope and orchids). This is powerful stuff so all you need to do is apply with a light hand. It is a Piguet which means it has a vintage feel. This is the genius behind such sublime scents as Bandit and Fracas. Of the two I would say this wears more like Bandit with a huge dirty slutty rose note. It doesn’t remind me of Fracas as it’s not very floral other than that big rose. It’s beautiful. Wearing this tonight and already heard someone say “where are the roses?”. They’re in my perfume! This is a unisex frag as well so anyone can enjoy it. It’s a well made rose and if you like strong smoky roses like in Portrait of a Lady you should check this out. Such a great fragrance.

Yes, its all about the queen of flowers the rose. I soon detected the ambroxan and musk which I guess has been added to boost longevity. Very nice but the rose fades too quickly and then the ambroxan and musk take over. For the price of it I would expect more rose for longer. I might as well stick to my PW Tea Rose. Moderate sillage and longevity.

    3 out of 5

I agree with DaisyM, the musk/ambroxan note overwhelmes the rose after a while. So where is the so-called Rose Perfection? Nonetheless it is a nice fragrance, but not worth the hefty price tag.

  13. :

    3 out of 5

Ok, I think I am done with rose-themed perfume now. I can stop the searching one. It’s nice all right but just not the one I have been looking for. Maybe the so-called perfect rose perfume is only my imaginative product! But I do love the smell of the real rose! What’s wrong with me?!

Recently, I ordered a bottle of Robert Piguet’s Rose Perfection as a blind buy (since I’m in love with Piguet’s Fracas & Visa). This fragrance was considerably more complex than expected. The similarity between Rose Perfection and Joy by Jean Patou is unmistakable.
Rose Perfection opens with velvety Turkish rose and luscious apricot, followed by rich amber. Several hours later, tuberose mingles with soft musk and a hint of tobacco leaf. This is not your average rose. Rose Perfection is dark and sultry; evocative of a sensuous chanteuse in a smoky speakeasy. Would be perfect for evening wear. Sillage is good. Longevity is fair (about 3 hours). Definitely a keeper!

I’m really impressed by Rose Perfection. Not tea rose, not powdery, not green. This is all lush, creamy red & pink rose that doesn’t quit. The name pretty much nails it. Simple soliflore? Yes, but nothing boring here at all. I can’t stop loving this.

When I put this on my first thought was “oh no, this can’t be right”. It was light, fresh and somewhat more sweet and jammy than I thought it would be. But I left it on and during the dry down the sweetness went away and this blossomed into a full, lush, beautiful rose. It is linear and all you get is rose, but oh, so creamy and wonderful.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

Not only rose perfection, but name perfection. What a romantic beauty! This comes very close to what I always imagined the fabled rose perfumes — Joy, Paris, Trésor, etc — to smell like before I tried them. It smells, as was said of Joy, costly; a sweet, joyful shower of pink petals deepened with a hint of voluptuous warmth that balances purity with sensuousness in a most alluring way. It is a little apricot-golden, a little violet-powdery. It’s probably too retro in its unabashed rosiness for most people to think of it as sexy, but it’s definitely not one of those primly demure tea roses. More like a Juliet of any age in the throes of love.
A full bottle would be a most extravagant treat, so I’ll sprinkle my decant on these cool, bright spring days and top it up as needed. 🙂

Wearing it feels like you been sleeping on bed from rose petals, for breakfast had cup of rose-tea and rosy-jam on rosy-toasts, that your dress is of rose colour and the whole air induced with rose essential oils. Sounds like too much, isnt it?..Its a right rose for mazohist!
The problem is that I like it, it clicks with my rose-cravings, but the price on this perfection is not that perfect at all.
Its very potent and very strong, last night I sprayed on sweater-sleeve, but when I took it off to be ready for bed, from my own skin the scent of the dark rose was rising around my head, and I smelled it on the morning. Yet I applied the leftovers of the sample, true mazohist!
    *sigh*
In my memory it will stay one of the most favourite roses, among Paestum, Luten’s Sa Majesty and Rose Anonyme.

I’m so glad I was able to buy a decant of Rose Perfection before splurging on a full bottle. As a rose lover, there are very few rose scents which I don’t like, and RP is one of them. There are more notes than just the rose listed, and notably I’m detecting peach and musk. While I normally don’t mind peach, this peachy musk is overshadowing the rose and not mixing with my chemistry in the right way. I’m envious of the people for whom RP is really perfection.
Edit: other sites mention musk and ambroxan/woody notes.

This is the smell of my childhood. We spent days stripping the neighbours roses of rose petals trying to replicate the gorgeous high summer scent of dewy pink roses. It never worked.Piguet have perfected this. Its aptly named and just sheer perfection.

When considering the price of this perfume is it really worth it? Well, I sprayed this fragrance on my wrist and it lasted eight hours. The opening has a full blown rose chocolate rich fragrance. Then it transforms gently into a sweet and jammy rose, then to a tea rose and tuberose theme. I get three distinct roses first the rich old rose, then a sweet tuberose and then a tea rose, which is quite similar to the tea rose the perfume workshop bottle. Would I get it, not at this stage because for a sweet rose, I have the Evelyn and Crabtree rose water which is delicious. It lasts for a long while on clothes, and it is a sweet well rounded tea rose with no rough edges. For this Piquet perfume is lovely, it would suit a mature age range, due to the complexity of the older traditional rose. Yet, the price is about $180 in David Jones, which I think is not justifiable, unless you wish to really pamper yourself. I think the original Fracas is still the best for longevity which lasts over 24hrs on clothes, sweet and well rounded and beautiful. This Rose Piquet fragrance is classy, but I have three different rose perfumes which are very lovely and are cheaper than this. I do also get the rose oil smell in this perfume which is nice. I suggest that you need to try this first, before just buying it, because it may be quite overpowering for some.

The rose in this reminds me of Keicho Mecheri’s Attar de Roses. In the beginning I love the opening of Rose Perfection but then it’s a complete disappointment. I must be in the minority from the positive reviews I have read. I cannot stand it both on my skin and on my paper.
There is this minty note and the rose is subtle. I definitively prefer Attar de Roses over this. If this works on your skin then great, it has good longevity with arms length sillage in the beginning.
There is a note in this that puts me off maybe it’s ambroxin….?
I love intense jammy roses without the green parts as a reference to my taste in rose perfumes.

Tried today in a niche corner at dept. store. I was waiting for it.
Wow. What a gentle and perfect rose! The name is so suitable. here is a perfume that does what it says: a gorgeous, bright yet gentle true rose smell.
There is other going on here, please, the note list is naif, but the final result is that of a beautiful rose on skin, especially after drydown. At first it is delicately juicy and fruity sweet, vaguely reminding Yves Rocher Rose Absolue, byt that lasts only until it settle. The sillage is average and lasting power is good.
I agree it reminds of KM Attar de Roses, very much in the same line, but Rose Perfection is more subtle and ethereal, while Attar de Roses is more glorious.
I also smell a similar vibe as Creed Fleurs de The Rose Bulgare, but more modern and less vintage nostalgic.
Beautiful for sure, if you are ready to shell out 168 euro. If you can’t don’t cry. There are other beautiful roses out there for a fraction of price.

Beautiful pink & red sweet roses! This is to my nose its initial opening is a sugared Rose, so it must be the ambroxan I’m picking up strongly, my skin however tends to play up the “sweet” notes, Its along the same vein of KM Attar de Roses, sugared sweet pink roses skirting along gourmand territory, but with the rosy rose of PW Tea Rose. As it develops its a real rose, mature rose! though Its linear, for Rose lovers who want “ROSE” with none of the other florals this is one to try. As it develops the sweetness quietens down, thankfully. If you are after A ROSE and you happen to love Attar de Rose, but find Tea Rose a little sharp, then this is a must try. It really is a perfect Rose.

A while ago I said that roses in perfumery are not old-fashioned, despite their popularity. I still think roses have many new stories to tell and can be interpreted with lots of creativity and I sustain my words by mentioning two good examples of this: Trance from J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin and La Fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens ( now I realize both involve not only good and original roses, but also the name of a great city).
Moving to Rose Perfection, I must add that for me it is not a big surprise, because it is produced by one of my favorite brands ever, Robert Piguet. Actually when I say Piguet you can imagine red little hearts in my eyes :)). So thank you, dear house for my signature scent Visa, for “the Fracas” classic and Petit, and now for this gorgeous rose which trully deserves it`s name.
It is a dark, natural but refined red rose, lush and strong. Not the type that grows or transforms itself very much on your skin, as it is big and mature right from the start, and it also does not seem to need any complementary notes around, because alone it`s perfect. Don`t be afraid, you will not get enough of this, as it is not boring to look at the photo of your loved one the whole day…

STUNNING fragrance! Not as spicy a rose as I would prefer, but oh–what gentle beauty. I feel like I am in a soft pink cloud wearing this–it makes me happy. I feel timeless–elegant, but not haughty. It does not last long on me–maybe due to dry skin–but it’s worth re-applying.

I had a possibility to test this beauty in one local boutique. Unfortunately just on the mouilletes, not on skin, neither I got a sample. But I wanted to share my joy with you, as this is THE BEST, really the best delicious, brilliant rose perfume I’ve ever smelled …
The SP told me that it’s all about rose and ambroxan (NB! Why it’s not listed in Fragrance notes?). I love ambroxan in Lady Vengeance – it amplifies the freshness of other notes. The same is here – it seems to smell hundreds of roses all together. If the rose could kiss you, this would be the most passionate, deep, long kiss that I can imagine…

It is the sole rose representative in my collection, so far (….). I find it soft, understated, elegant, and “pure”. Does NOT remind me of “old ladies’ scents”!
Basically, I love it, and am surprised there aren’t more reviews… is it a hidden gem?
Even in other perfume blogs, when they analyze rose fragrances, there is no mention of this beauty: weird!
