I have been searching for the “perfect rose” for over 2 years, have gone through over 100 samples and have finally found it! I believe this is the rose that Ava Luxe describes on their website as “Roses” and if it is, then this is the best rose on my skin that I have even experienced. It is soft but develops beautifully and stays forever. My clothes smell great even 2-3 days later! It is fresh, but not green, it is soft but not powdery and old smelling, and it makes me feel feminine and happy. I loooove this frag and only wish that AvaLuxe sold samples so I could try all her perfumes. This one I bought from Posh Peasant and am very happy I did.

How do I love this rose? Madly. While there is some green in the top and more green in the base, this is the best rose “soliflore” I own. But soliflore does not do it justice as so many roses went into the creation of this scent that it is a heady rose bouquet, so it is a “grandiflore” of a rose and luxurious and deep not light and lilting or springy like the YSL Paris bouquets.
De la Luz is similar in inspiration to the Creed Bulgarie scent but does not carry the boozy weightiness of the Creed (at least on me) and the orris and vetiver keep it from smelling heavy.
It is way more expensive than most of the AL line, but it was worth the cost for this rose lover. I also own Bohemian Rose which is light, Rasa which is very animalic and Queen Bess which is a spicy winter rose composition.
