Description

The story is a love story: it’s about a young woman visiting Rome. She falls madly in love with a local guy, but leaves within 24 hours so that the love story stays untouched.

The fragrance features notes of white flowers such as orange blossom, jasmine and lily of the valley, together with rose, iris and osmathus, warmed by Bourbon vanilla. Patchouli and vetiver give it the chypre character.

Romantina was launched in 2011.

If anyone wants an almost full bottle 50 ml – please pm me? Sprayed a few times and it’s not my cup of tea.. way to musky for me.

A flash of freshness at the top spray leaves way to sweet florals over a base of musk. The dominant flower is the rose, but none the less the jasmine is so pretty added next to a dose of muguet and powdery iris. The combination is clean, soapy, soft. The dry down is a combination of gentle musky/powdery flowers.
    7/10

Smells reallyyy similar to Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Martin Margiela except I detect notes of honey even though it”s not in the list of notes. A very pretty powdery musky scent.

Soft, beautiful musky floral. The orange blossom is at least as prominent as the rose in this one, and sometimes I smell it more than the rose. It’s responsible for the jasmine note some people claim to pick up in this.
Soft and clean but not soapy. What I like about Romantina is that despite its being a solution of aromachemicals, it manages to smell natural and sweet. On me, it smells almost like green bananas: very cool, vegetal, fresh. The patchouli is very subtle. Drydown is expensive baby powder – powdery but not abrasive and cheap like real baby powder. Imagine if Chanel marketed a baby powder that was $100/oz. Just cool and sweet. Iris comes out in the drydown, that’s why.
Downside: low sillage (could be an upside though, depending on where you are).
    {Sorry haters, I have never found a JHAG scent that I did not LOVE or that did not work absolute magic on me.}

I should know that almost everything that is voted similar to Narciso Rodriguez For Her (EDT or EDP) will most likely not work on my skin. But I had a sample of Romantina, so I tried it anyways.
Yes, this definitely shares same kind of sultry musk/patchouli main accord with the Narcisos in the tall bottles. In the beginning I feel it’s warmer, softer and a bit more animalic, but after a while, it turns sharp and sour on my skin, just like all fragrances with this kind of musk do. They smell sensual on the right person, but they don’t suit everybody. Romantina is not the worst offender though.
Maybe because it has strong rose and floral notes and an additional JHAG-aromachemical base (I guess it must be ambroxan, because it reminds me of their Not a Perfume, but I’m not very knowledgeable on this subject).
All I can really say is, if you’re not into these musk/patch scents, Romantina will likely not be an expection.

For me this is a very soft and pretty fragrance…a lot of people write it´s sexy.. I can agree, but it´s not loud sexy…it´s intimate sexy…very soft, clean, a bit sweet…my chemistry doesn´t react so good how I would like to – but I love it on my friend, it really fits to her and her chemistry spreads it all around…my chemistry eats it…nobody feels it from me 🙂 but it really depends on how your body works that moment…even my chemistry changes sometimes and scents that were not ok for me 3 years ago now fit perfectly…so maybe one day 🙂

Opens with a burst of soft, violet-y florals and very modern aldehydes. I have to say that it’s not as childish as one would expect from the name – it actually has some character and body – but, compared to other niche houses, this is still a very mild, moderate fragrance and very much in line with JHaGs that I’ve tried. Still, this is a nice soft floral over a woody, soapy base. One of the better ones from this house, I think.

Romantina is really pretty… it’s one of those scents that reminds you of something and makes you feel faintly nostalgic and slightly wistful. Rose powder and musk are notes that lately really appeal to me. If this wasn’t such a light skin scent I would definitly want a FB. This is one of those where the concept for me doesn’t match the price tag.

    A delicately perfumed rose talc.
Soft and musky, smooth and creamy.
Heaps of pink rose petals and tonka bean.
The opening is bright & white with a touch of fresh orange blossom, then sweet powdery rose, almond & musk lead to a luscious finale. A delectable melange of creamy vanilla, buttery iris, titillating tuberose & moreish musk.
I wish this was a touch stronger, leaned a little less on the talc/iris/tonka side and contained far more (dirty/sweaty/dewy) musky floral.
Sad and sorry state of affairs, though a lovely scent nonetheless. Very creamy and powdery – in an extremely gentle skin-close style.
    Edit:
I found that Vengeance Extreme gives me exactly what I was looking for, which is Narciso Rodriguez on steroids, on fire – as a thick lava that ravages all within twenty metres, with balls the size of mountains, with all of the alcohol/water taken out – a vat of NR For Her boiled down to its finest, sludgiest, densest essence.
So I can appreciate Romantina for being exactly the opposite. The Crisp, clean. The fluffy cloud and the clean cotton pyjama. (Though still slightly inclined to consider this as containing “too much tonka” upon closer inspection.) This is a beautifully gentle and powdery/creamy soft and smooth ice cream rose. A real beauty.
Also, the rose and musky vanilla combo in this creates a lovely, slightly salty edge, like a touch of perspiration resting in the dip of a collarbone or cupid’s bow.

There is a familiarity and nostalgia with this scent.
Reminds me of an old room where flowers have lived and died.
Reminds me of clean sheets that have been stored in the linen closet where remnants of our body scent and detergent have mingled.
Reminds me of my youth when we had no air conditioning. The smell of our freshly cleaned sweaty skin and laundered sheets would waft around us in the fan cooled air.
Purchased a sample and occasionally use it when feeling nostalgic. It is not one I wear often but time will tell.

Wearing this today and enjoying it very much. It’s a clean sexy musky perfume that reminds me very much of the pink NR EDP , it’s a white creamy floral with loads and loads of different musks , clean and animalistic at the same time ,it gives you a “right out of the shower feel” as well as a sexy musky slightly skin sour tangy dirty scent that also brings Kiehls musk to mind , mind you Romantina is much better and besides it resembling NR it also reminds me of my childhood and my mother but I am not sure why it transferee me to Austria to our summmer house in the mountains. Is it the blooming trees there? The fresher air ? The soaps we had there ? Could it be the sunscreen we used ? Or a combo of all of the above but it sure brings those memories back. Some of the best ones of my life.
In addition I love the name Romantina
    Nettoyants review is spot on.
    Went to top shelf !
Very sexy perfume. Absolute love for me. Lays between dirty skin and clean skin. Very slept in yet clean. Reminds me of the smell after sex. But better.
….so I googled the notes again and no wonder it reminds me of sex. It has casterum as one of the notes which is considered ; wild , animalistic, bodily, lustful and secretion like. Well, so there , I am not going crazy this scent is down right sexy to me.
Also the story about this perfume is about two strangers having a sexual encounter and then parting their ways going back to their cities and life ,,,

  12. :

    4 out of 5

It’s “nice,” pretty much just nice. Of the entire JHaG sampler set, it’s the only one that was a like for me; but that isn’t saying much. It opens with a burst of white flowers and a whiff of the castoreum that didn’t work for me in Mad Madame; it works here. This animal dirtiness brings an interesting facet to an otherwise bland floral/musk concoction. And yet it’s almost immediately tamed into non-existence, it fades into the plainer musks. The flowers powder up and it settles almost immediately into a very close to the skin scent. It’s nice and pretty, but nothing amazing on me.

  13. :

    5 out of 5

this starts off very strong with a synthetic white floral thing going on. i think it’s jasmine, which is listed in the notes but not the voting section (or whatever it’s called). or maybe my skin just highlights it? i don’t know, but i suspect jasmine because my skin amps it to 11 unless it’s done in a certain way. also, it has that musk (?) that i associate with modern masculine/unisex fragrances-kind of aquatic. it gets better after the drydown but it just smells kind of soapy on me at that point.

  14. :

    5 out of 5

By far my least favorite from the JHAG discovery kit.
I don’t know what’s going on with this one… It has a strong and weird plasticky tone that makes me nauseated. I’m not sure if that “toxic funk” is a reaction with my skin chemistry or if my sample is off. Whatever it is, it’s unbearable. Can’t really comment on the performance because I had to scrub it.
p.s. I tried spraying it on paper and in the air; that nasty nuance was always present. I suppose there’s something in it that just doesn’t agree with my nose.

  15. :

This is a pretty scent. The rose really does not come through on me but the musk and orange blossom does. It came off very light and soft. I did not get any harsh smell from the dry down as others have commented. It just goes to show how different scents react with our individual chemistry. (I’m a firm believer in try before you buy!) This would be a nice daytime scent or something to wear to church on Sunday. I felt I had smelled it before or at least something very similar and I agree it smells like a Caress body wash. I like it but I don’t think I’d buy a full bottle of it just because it is not unique enough for me.

  16. :

    4 out of 5

The opening of this is a very interesting combination of rose and vetiver. This dies off very quickly, however, into a tame (but nice!) soapy orange blossom. I would have given this 4 out of 5, but I would dock it one star because of the less than impressive longevity. However, of the ones I’ve tried from this brand, I like this one the best so far. Smells like Caress Daily Silk body wash 🙂
3 out of 5 stars for me

  17. :

Beautiful rose, sensual musk, soft woods. Nothing new *cough cough NR for Her dupe cough cough* but pleasant nonetheless.

  18. :

Dead ringer for Valentina by Valentino. This is a bubblegum floral – the opening is pink, youthful, and innocent. A very fresh bouquet of flowers, a little soap, a little pepper. To me, this scent is very “pretty” and “safe” without being generic or overdone. But, it’s missing that curious edge. Perhaps if the “bourbon vanilla” played a larger role this would be the perfect intoxicating girly girl floral. It’s not until the dry down that I start to really enjoy this scent, and let’s be honest, no one should have to wait that long.

  19. :

    4 out of 5

A sweetened, musky rose, with a heavy dose of orange blossom. Very linear, and nothing complex to break down top to drydown wise. The notes list includes both bergamot and castoreum, but if either is present, it is in such small amounts as to be neutral to non existent.
This is a well behaved, pretty floral that would make a gorgeous dusting powder or drawer sachet, but fails to impress as an upwards of $100 niche fragrance.
About a half step above a skin scent, sillage wise, and vanishes without a trace in 3 hours or less.
A juice that plays it so safe ends up as bland as the vanilla used as the anchor of its creation. Not terrible, but certainly boring…..and that is arguably the worse of the two options.
A good option for starry eyed young ladies, people who work in professions where louder scents are frowned upon, and people who think choosing an ivory sweater (instead of their usual cream) is living dangerously.

I’m testing Romantina right now. Immediately after spraying I was punched by an incredibly strong soap note. It was really off putting to me, but I decided to ride on. About 5 mins later… Hey, wait…! It turned into an absolutely gorgeous summer skin scent. Such a clean musk, such an elegant bergamot, such a beautiful subtle rose -strange because my nose usually rejects rose, but I love this one… Yes, yes, yes!!! I bought this bottle for my mother, in an attempt to find a replacement for her beloved Narciso Rodriguez EDT, and found this even better. There’s a sillage issue, I agree with previous reviewers. But she’s an oversprayer, so it won’t be a problem here. Great frag.

When I was on birth control, this smelt glue on me. Now that I’m off it, it starts off with that “new shoes”, leathery smell, mixed with vanilla orange blossom. Then the musky cleanness begins – that skin-like, slightly soapy scent. The woodiness begins to be more appearant too. I’d characyerize it as a classy summer evening scent, at this point. From then on, it’s a mix of flowers and creamy powderiness… Like slik in texture, but a little sweeter. The drydoen on me is castorium-vanilla and vetiver. The only thing I don’t like about this fragrance is that it feels as if it’s going into my mouth when I breathe in… It’s hard to explain, but if you know how it feels when you eat a little bit of chapstick, and then you can’t feel the temperature change if you breathe through your mouth… It feels kinda like that when I breathe around this perfume. No clue what causes it

Usually, I find that “pretty” is a negative adjective when it comes to perfume. But, oh my, this takes pretty to a whole new level.
    Dirty, musky soap.
    Lush pink roses.
    White silk.
    Velvety tonka.
    Powdery iris dipped in honey.
A bit of castoreum to make it so addictive.
    Smokey vanilla.
    Dusk in Rome.
This is an impressive creation. It captures romance and mystery and both open skies and boudoirs. It’s both satin and velvet and I swear there’s some sandalwood in it, somewhere. Along with lily of the valley. I could easily love Romantina.
    But.
The longevity and the sillage are breaking my heart. It makes me genuinely sad how I can barely smell it after an hour. I’ve been trying hard to justify the price but it’s not working.

I really hoped to like this, but all I could smell on my skin was an overpowering scent of rose, for about 4 hours. After that, it smelled pretty good. I could smell the orange blossoms, vetiver, and maybe the bergamot, put then it was gone.

  24. :

    4 out of 5

I’m really not fond of the bergamot top not in JHAG perfumes. It smells unnaturally sharp, almost like pine or some other plant with weapons for leaves.
Thankfully, that’s over pretty quickly and I’m left with a pretty, shower clean scent. Truth be told, I have a heard time hearing any other individual notes over the loud, creamy voice of ambroxan. What I do get is mild, rosy musk. It stays very close to the skin.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

Very gentle floral at the beginning, so I’ve thought that it’s nothing special. However, base notes are really good, subtly teasing, mysterious and chic.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

My first perfume I have sampled from this brand. I find this soapy, a bit leathery, and overall a dry rose. What comes to mind is young innocent love, leather and lace. But this does not have enough weight, not enough excitement for me. I’ll pass.

  27. :

    4 out of 5

Musky, soft, subtly animalic scent with the spotlight on roses and orange blossom. It makes me think of a beautiful young woman on an early evening in Rome, her sandals pattering on a plaza’s cobblestones. This fragrance is a perfect representation of the name it bears.
Romantina is beautifully blended and one of my favourite Juliettes, smooth and elegant, flirty and fun and I must buy a full bottle as soon as possible! When I’m not wearing it, I crave it. It makes me feel uplifted. A perfect “summer dress” perfume.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

    An absolutely intoxicating beauty!
When I smell this perfume, I feel like I’m standing in an old school cigar shop with dark, wooden antique furniture that is adorned with vases of red roses.
On my skin, the vetiver emits a glorious bitter chocolate and smoke facet, like the leaves of an expensive, hand rolled cigar. The scent of the rose is ripe and aromatic. The musk accord is musty and vanillic. The aura of ROMANTINA is romantic and elusive; it perfectly captures the story behind the perfume.
I also love the presentation and how all of the JHAG fragrances have the same canister type bottle. I do spray this perfume liberally because the longevity is not very strong and I want it to last all day. With 6+ sprays, this fragrance will endure for around 7 hours but the sillage is very close to the body.

  29. :

    4 out of 5

This is totally my style, I adore this.  A great deal of rose to start, very rosy.  Don’t worry if roses aren’t your thing though, it’s really not a rose perfume like most JHAG scents.  On the dry down this is powdery and musky (amber, castoreum and musk whew, so hot) where tuberose, iris, vanilla and fresh citrus are far more noticable than rose.  This is not only romantic it’s downright sexy.  Out of the 9 samples of JHAG scents I have this is, hands down, my favourite.  It’s naughty but not raunchy, you aren’t knocked over the head with castoreum.  So masterful and lovely!
Just a note on the NR For Her comparisons. I own at least 4 versions of For Her. This is more dirty, less clean musk and while it’s not as rosey as Portrait of a Lady or Calligraphy Rose, it has far more rose than For Her.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Sample direct from JHAG discovery set.
This opens and dominates with musk and rose. I get mixed in a slight vetiver and cetalox. Even though cetalox is not mentioned, I know it well from JHAG It’s not a perfume. I only get a sampling of the white flowers and sweet patchouli notes. This is earthy and a light clean scent. The musk, rose and vetiver are your main players. In that order.

    Unexpected Signature
How it ever came to be so, I do not know.
Romantina doesn’t WOW, not on the first spray, not on the fiftieth. It’s not polarizing in any way. I doubt you will find vehement lovers or haters. Originally I was neither. I thought Romantina VERY pretty, but….well, that’s it. I was wrong. She snuck up on me while I wasn’t looking, sat down and offered a lovely companionship throughout my day. Before I knew it, I had taken her up on her offer, reaching for Romantina more often than not.
I find the composition rather linear, subtle, a little bit of a wallflower actually. I’m not quite sure I would describe it as romantic, more of a dear friend. For me, Romantina is only four notes…vetiver, musk, cetalox and the X-factor found only in JHaG fragrances. The florals… rose, iris, tuberose, orange blossom, which are sprinkled throughout this beauty, are lost on me. ME, an admitted flower girl. I guess I didn’t need them. The vetiver and the musk in the casually feminine framework prove to be plenty.
It remains close. Not overwhelming in any way. It’s not a compliment getter. Romantina is for you.
What can I say to convince you to give Romantina a try? I’ve already said it won’t WOW you and that’s true. It will, however, remind you to smile throughout your day. It’ll remind you how beautiful the little things are, kind gestures, even the comfort of a routine.
This Juliette didn’t have a gun, she had a gift for me. An unexpected but much needed gift of simplicity.

It smells very fresh, clean and musky. Perfect for spring time. However, it feels as if I have smelled something like this many times before. I think it is lovely but not remarkable enough to buy a full bottle.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

Very romantic and soft opening of rose and bergamote. So fresh and pretty! Unfortunately, with time, the only thing I can smell is musk, musk and some vetyver. Gone the pretty romantic fragrance…

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Tried Citizen Queen, Miss Charming, Lady Vengeance and this. Musk and woods blended well with the rose. It was beautifully simple in the first hour. Afterwards, only the musk stayed and it was almost undetectable – so whisper soft. Both my daughter and husband didn’t find this remarkable and were anxious to move on to the next sample. For the C$145 asking price, that’s not good. Good thing I find this unremarkable too.
    One spray on me
    Sillage: nose to wrist
    Longevity: one hour
    Rating: 2/5 good but disappointing

  35. :

    5 out of 5

Smells a bit synthetic to me, like new leather furniture, but not in a bad way. Otherwise, the musk and wood are the most prominent notes after this dries down. The top notes remind me of Narcisco Rodriguez for her, which are some pretty yummy flowers, with kind of a waxy smell. Smells quite clean. The cetalox is very easily distinguishable too, like a milk-like, glue-like amber smell with some woody notes. I’d say: it’s much like “Not a Perfume”, with rose and other goodies thrown in, with the animalic notes, unfortunately, adding a little bit og wet dog/freshly very sweaty to it, which is how muck smells on me 90% of the time (which is why I prefer perfumes without a lot of it). I think you might like this perfume if you like NRfor her, Not a Perfume, or if you like quite gentle musk fragrances (unless you overspray this, that is).

  36. :

    5 out of 5

    Absolutely in love!
This is a very subtle musk, slightly floral, yet clean; all notes are well underplayed which makes it perfect for the office.
This scent always makes me feel as though I am in the English countryside, on a dewy and crisp early morning, walking through a flower garden, after a slight rain fall and the sun is just peeking out.
Anyone else feel a deja vu with this fragrance?

  37. :

    4 out of 5

Rose and rose and rose skilfully blended with musk. Dry down is exactly like NR For Her(edp). Longevity is the same as NR For Her . The only difference is that NR has a very chemical start where Romantina starts like a bouquet of flowers. They are both pricey but in my opinion there is no big originality in Romantina except for the start and thus it is not worth the price tag.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

Lots of turkish rose, ambroxan/blue amber/cetalox, bergamot, and a fairly feminine vetiver on my skin. Also very STRONG as most JHAGS! Soft sillage is not at all what I’m getting, I actually might have to go scrub 1/2 of it to make it more gentle…
It is pretty but a bit too sharp for me. I think the mix of vetiver here has made it so for my tastes; a bit too much peppery-bitterness with the turk rose and bergamot. But that’s just me 🙂 It is noticable, pretty, and a quite a bit heavier than I thought it’d be.
As others have said, MUSK + WOODSY are the most noticeable here.

  39. :

I havent been in a LUSH store for a while, but this perfume remind me alot of that beautiful but strong blast of perfume you get from visiting one!
It has a smooth and sweet scent, Romantina. Very lovely and fleeting. Yet it is very strong and you could easily overspray it. It does go from flower and musk to musk and wood on my skin. It last for maybe 4-6 hours and stays sweet and inviting until the very end. Yet somehow it reminds me of glue, which is not as romantic as the name suggest.
I’d say its a modern musk, maybe? Very nice and soft, and strong. It will probably work very well on people who like musk and flower, and who dont mind being a little bit inviting on an every day basis.

  40. :

Very interesting scent! Strong, confident and romantic at the same time.
    A little melancholic maybe.
This is the scent of an interesting and intriguing story.
Nice composition of white flowers and musk.
    Outstanding and elegant!

Yesterday I’ve got a sample of this perfume, so Today is the first day to wear it.
At first it did not take so much effect on me, I thought it’s nice but that was all.
    BUT! 1 hour later….I just can’t describe..it’s wonderful!
Many of you complained that it does not last long. Well, I’m wearing it since 7AM (now it’s 3PM) and I keep on getting compliments about it 🙂
The secret is – and in case of any perfume – to apply a perfume free body lotion/cream first and only after use the perfume.
No perfume will last long if you apply it on a dry skin.

This is my first Juliet, very intoxicating, teneder, Romantina is the right name, I smell rose and floral bouquet, it is light floral chypre, I just wish a longevity was better.

I see Romano likes roses. When I sprayed the Romantina I thinked this is Citizen Queen’s little sister: the rose is load with a smoky patchouli. And later the drydown is became a beautiful dry and warm woody-flowerly scent that is easy to wear. So I love Citizen Queen when I want to be a drama queen and I love Romantina when I want to be a beautiful, sophisticated woman. Recommented! Very 😉

But after few minutes u feel like leather musk and flowers.

I’m not into sweet candy like scents.
More likely I tend to choose a scent that makes a statement, you smell what it is, no more…no less..
But this time… with Romantina.. can’t help it.. I fell for it.
It smells like flowers indeed, it smells way too soft but next to this.. its just irresistible (for me).
It is just that little bit more.
But, indeed, this perfume does not last that long, unfortunately.
    Few hours and it’s gone.
But that’s just a reason to use it again is it?
If you like flowers and sweet scents, but with just that little bit more I would advice you to try it on!

One of the prettier and more delicate Juliette’s.
It really doesn’t last long and doesn’t project well. As if Juliette wore some delicate rose/iris/musk scent and her lover’s vetiver rubbed off on her scarf from all the kissing.Definitely interesting – the vetiver accord really keeps this scent grounded and stops it from becoming too sweet and girly. To me it smells like edible flowers.
A pretty scent and great introduction to perfume for younger customers. It would make a great gift for a 16 – 22 year old.

I absolutely adore this! It is so mysterious and beautiful. I have read that this doesnt last long on some, but for me it lasts hours. I sprayed it on my arm last night and can still smell it at 10am. Just Gorgeous!

I got my sample of this yesterday and I really love it. It’s a sweet, warm white floral, I am not so great at picking individual notes, it’s beautifully soft but long lasting and smells intoxicating! I think the floral notes are stronger than the musk notes. It’s on to my want list.

  49. :

I tried this interesting fragrance recently….mmm…smelt pleasant from opening to dry-down! A well balanced feminine scent that lasted for ages on the back of my hand – really held its strength. Romantina evokes images of stunning Juliette toting a milky rose coloured vintage ‘Toy’ pistol fully loaded with this intoxicating scent of which she randomly squirts into the atmosphere to her hearts content…
Edit: This is nowhere near as refined as Citizens Queen which I happen to love. It has that typical harsh smell that overpowers any interesting notes hence turned out to be a real scrubber!

This is a very beautiful scent. I don’t smell orange but I definitely smell rose mixed with musk, then later it burns down to a nice sweet patchouli, which I believe is the vanilla. I would buy… To me the name should be Romantica…

So much vetiver in here..and rose…again. Woody, light and earthy. It’s not bad to me, no, it’s just too calm, too modest. The more I receive JHAG perfumes the more I come to conclusion that all of them are so similar to each other. Not my cup of tea…but I will wear it just because it doesn’t look like me and I want to be stranger to myself sometimes.

This is quite a “nice and pretty” scent. I can see young girls wearing this rather romantic scent. The lasting power seemed bad to me. Also I feel too grown up for this kind of scent.

Where do I start? This fragrance house is new to me. I have read the reviews and the press hype – so I was hopeful. Well, my new crush is Romantina. I am not one to shy away from powerful scents and this fragrance is like a quiet, stealth assassin! It’s white floral, woody and rose notes blur to unexpected chords. I love it. I can’t stop sniffing my wrist. My husband is intoxicated by it. I want to wear it. I am excited by it. It begins with a burst of white floral and rose, slowly warming down to a woody, delicious scent. It’s going to be a fragrance that I will use as my secret weapon. To take people unawares, leaving them merciless in my wake!

This is a pretty scent. The composition is so beautiful, and that’s why the lasting power is frustrating all the more.

Even though “Romantina” is meant to be less brash than “Lady Vengeance”, it came across as much harsher on my skin. I got darker rose and sharp-edged jasmine lightly layered over iron (as opposed to copper, aluminum or steel) in the first fifteen minutes. After that, the scent was nearly all metal and smoke–and I don’t mean the sleek blue steel and gunpowder this series is meant to evoke. Gunsmoke isn’t necessarily a bad thing in a fragrance–“Lady Vengeance” twines it ’round her fingers like a ribbon and uses it to flirt–but in “Romantina” the scent was more sulphurus than smoky, nearly industrial in tone…with overt, nearly grinding iron at the borders. Based on others’ reviews, it may be simply bad skin chemistry, or possibly even a bad sample–but I’d say my experience isn’t necessarily unique.

Light creamy floral, soft close to the skin scent.
Pretty and feminine, the down side, 5 minutes later
all I am picking up is a hint of musk and citrus.
No lasting power what so ever, not different enough
    to hold my interest.

I love Romantina! It has a lot of slightly metallic rose in it which I adore! It is how my mums cosmetic drawer smelled. I can say it’s similar a bit to Citizen Queen and NR. Roses, musk, nice vetiver. I keep getting drawn back to the paper strip again and again. Though, it isn’t much original in my opinion.

Just received my sample pack in the mail! Gorgeously packaged and came super fast, cheers to JHAG on that! To be fair, I’m going to give each frag a few days before reviewing but at first sniff Romantina seems to be only truly wearable scent for me, hands down. The others seem strange, loud & synthetic. Maybe I’m biased because I love NR for Her and I can definitely smell a touch of Narciso in Romantina. Unlike NR for Her however, it’s light so if you love musky white florals, work in an office and its summertime you can definitely wear this without having to worry about gassing co-workers & fellow commuters away (which is more than I can say for the other JHAG’s..). The musk used here is more innocent smelling vs. ‘hot-sweaty-sex’ musk..which I do rather like, just not for work or hot days. Romantina is smooth, creamy, warm, musky, clean & “safe”. I like it. Didn’t rock my world or anything..but for a self professed one-nighter it’s pretty good…I’d even let her stay for breakfast.

very weird experience.. upon trying and smelling it the first time, the vetiver was quite prominent. Then later, at the 2nd and 3rd application, which had to happen fairly soon because of very short longevity, got nothing whatsoever! Not-a-perfume had been like 10x stronger.
Then after practically emptying the vial and letting it dribble over the left arm, there it was, the elusive orange blossom and the musky scent, but .. no more vetiver. Can it be possible to become anosmic to vetiver so rapidly?

I see that most people consider this as a white floral with musk. I love the orange blossom/musk combo! Nr EdT is a good example. Honestly while smelling Romantina from a tester I didn’t notice all that musk. It smelled like a rose, a tamed version of Lady Vengeance, one of my faves.
I wear Idylle which many people claim to be an overload of rose and I don’t smell rose as dominant in Idylle. And it’s not so similar to NR.
I definetely need to test Romantina again and also having on my skin alone without the test mixup! It may be simpler than other scents, but if it is about orange blossom/musk it’s exactly my cup of tea!
