Oh I think the one I would compare this to more so than polo blue is Versace eau fraiche. It’s like a more artsy sophisticated natural Versace eau fraiche with this hint of guiac wood in the base which is a dark smoke wood tone, beautiful choice there. And a mintyness from rosemary sage herbal stuff

Ive been wearing this as a “daily freshy”, everyday this summer. I do love it. It goes on initially as mandarin and then the bergamot and flower scents gently come through. As others say, it has poor projection so I would recommend if you want to wear a subtle fresh fragrance to work but not overpower the colleagues or if its just too hot for the big woody bruisers in your collection.

I purchased a large bottle on clearance at TJ Maxx as a blind buy. I regret it. On paper, all of the notes are up my alley, but on my skin it has a rotten / sour note that mildly nauseates me. I will be giving this one away to the in-laws. Disliked even for the $30 that I paid.

I like Cartiers, but sadly, this one smells like monkey piss on my skin, like that air in monkey pavilions. Really sour, harsh, nasty and just way too animalic.
Definitely not a blind buy in my opinion.

Roadster Sport doesn’t remind me too much of the original other than for a a brief moment in the opening when I get a flash of something resembling mint. This is a much more subtle fragrance and for some, it may come across as bland. To me it is a grassy, mildly herbal scent mostly dominated by rosemary, lime, and orange flower. There’s also something of a cold, bitter edge to it, but not in any extreme, dominating way, just enough to give it a cool feeling. I think Roadster Sport is nice and pleasant, but it’s not anything that’s going to wow you or feel particularly special. The original Roadster makes much more of an immediate and lasting impact. At the same time, the original also suffers from a few awkward moments and missteps while this version does not. In that regard, Sport is well-composed and put together, achieving its mildly pleasing effect rather effortlessly. I’m sort of neutral toward this, but definitely neutral leaning in a positive direction. It seems like the kind of scent that I may appreciate more with time and several wears. As of now, it’s just kind of cool and grassy, slightly herbal and bitter while coming across nice and pleasant. Also, on the positive side, there’s nothing that screams “SPORT” about this. It doesn’t possess any of the sterotypical “sporty” blue and aquatic fresh qualities that often plague sport flankers, so kudos to Cartier for not going that route at least. Projection is on the reserved side of moderate and longevity is about an average 6 hours. Roadster Sport reminds me of the now discontinued Essenza de Zegna, dialed down a notch, but similar as far as its grassy, herbal quality is concerned.

    Balanced, High Quality, Green, Bitter
If you found Rosemary in Bleu D’issey too much,If the mint in Guerlain Homme was overpowering for you….Roadster Sport is their balanced relative.( It’s more of a herbal than a citrus dominant mix).
As for the projection, it’s an arm length, and it has 3-hour longevity on skin ( Over a day on cloth). I believe the transparent nature of this scent has made some people believe that it doesn’t project or fades out seconds after application, this hasn’t been so for me and I’ve received compliments 3 hours after applying. This is for those people who don’t want to push their fragrance forcefully into the nose of others from three feet away.
    Solid Like

I love this one. It is very similar to the original, which I also love, but toned down quite a bit with a lot more citrus. Even though I love the original it could very easily become cloying on me but this one, not at all. It is fresher and sweeter, although it does not last as long, but it still maintains the original DNA. All in all, this is exactly what I was looking for in a Roadster sport.

ONE OF THE BEST SUMMER CITRUCY SCENT THAT HAVE THE WORST SILAGE AND LONGEVITY. VERY CLEAN AND SOFT CITRUCES WITH LOW SPICE BUT POOOOOOOOR LAST LONGING. EVEN IF IT SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN, YOU EXPECTED STH HAVE AT LEAST 4 HOURS LASTING BEACAUSE YOU ARE PAYING MONEY NOT FREE. SO IT DOESN’T WORTH ANY PONEY. DISLIKEEEEE.3/10

This is a nice perfume and a rare exception to the rule that ‘sport’ = mediocre in fragrance. It’s a rather soft projector and it lasts about five hours before it’s all gone.
It opens with a blast of citrus notes – lemon and bergamot with orange and tangerine – and you think it’s going to be loud at first. But it isn’t. It starts to settle and you get the whiffs of patchouli and sage coming through. You hope for something else and a nice long development or a nice bit of staying power but, alas, neither emerge. It’s a shame because it is a nice smell and it is nice and fresh. But it just doesn’t last. And therefore, for me, at this point it becomes a question of value. I like the smell but I’m not paying department store prices for it. If I see a 100ml bottle of it for thirty quid then I’ll buy it again but I won’t pay designer prices to replenish my stock. However, if you’re comfortable with the price then I would suggest you give it a try.

This is the fresher version of Roadster (as the title Sport suggests). I still prefer the original Roadster, which was mint done very well in a fragrance. This is definitely a bit zesty and fresh with the bursts of lemon throughout, but I find the original a bit more sophisticated and original, as well as long lasting.

I bought this one on accident, meaning to buy the regular Roadster cologne. Funny thing is, I prefer this one.
Roadster is a good, basic cologne, nothing to write home about. ..but i feel like this Sport version just cranks things up a notch.
This is a great “freshie”, one to keep in the backpack or your gym locker. I get a slight melon-like sweetness from this, i know melon isn’t listed but I get an almost cantaloupe-like smell from this. Maybe that’s why I like it more than the original, which tries to be minty-fresh but just ends up smelling “avon-racecar-generic” to me.
What a happy accident, purchasing this one. Cool bottle, good pleasing scent, decent longevity. I give this a 7.5/10, it’s nothing special but it gets an extra half-point for surprising me.

To my nose, this is R&G Jean Marie Farina EV with a big masculine kick. I was weaned on JMF but I always found it to be on the feminine side of unisex. Nonetheless, I always considered it to be almost the definition of a summer scent. Roadster Sport accomplishes this for me – in a sense it’s what I’ve been looking for for years.
The ‘Sport’ name is perhaps a misnomer. So many sport fragrances smell acquatic or cheap or both – think men’s locker room. This is neither – it is a very high quality EDT that I would put up there with offerings from Floris, Penhaligon’s and even Creed. Also, I think it has little resemblance to the original Roadster in scent – but is definitely of the same pedigree in theme. I would almost think of this as Roadster from a citrusy parallel universe. With Roadster I think of driving down an arid country road in the Mediterranean in the height of summer. With Roadster Sport I think of driving down a lush country road in the middle of France, with the top down, after a rain storm in the spring, with a box of bergamot oranges in the back seat. It’s citrusy, green, lush and woody. I can’t speak for silage but longevity is ok – about 4h at most. The same, once again, as any of the natural high quality offerings from Floris (like Santal) and Penhaligon’s.
I think it’s a perfectly balanced work of art and I love it.

I just got this one last night and tried on for work today.. I like the two Roadsters.. this is definitely awesome in a springy day.. the mandarin stays quite long to be on the opening notes, it’s been about 3 hrs since I sprayed is still standing out. I need to wait for the total dry down. So far is very nice.

  14. :

I don’t know if it’s just my skin, but it is so screechy. I don’t like the sharp metallic-ness (I don’t know how to better describe it, perhaps someone would help?) in it as in other fragrances like this one. This kind of scent is not for me. The only time I could accept it was with the complex scent of Chanel Allure Homme.

  15. :

    5 out of 5

Starts off super fresh with an orangy bang. Not bitter not sweet but right in the middle, good balance. The rosemary and sage come right after to give it a little fresh greenness. The dry down is soft and really a continuation of the top and middle notes. The patchouli, wood and pepper are barley there. Light, clean and expensive smelling and not as strong or metallic as the original. Overall very nice but its a shame how quickly it fades.

I asked a friend to buy me the original roadster, but he came back with this one. At first I got excited about trying it, but never managed to like it since then.
My nose was noticing something that’s killing the freshness of this sporty cologne, may be it’s the bitter sage. The designer having replaced the refreshing mint of the original roadster with the bitter sage was a turning off for me. I used one third, and gave away the bottle, not appealing nor pleasing to me.

This fragrance is mint and lemon done perfectly. However poor projection and weak longevity

To me this smells like the color green.
It opens with the citrus,a very natural mandarin orange, there is patchouli and woods but mostly i get sage.
Unlike most sport fragrances this one comes off all natural with none of the aquatic notes usually used in thie sport genre.i think the sage gives it the clean note without using the aquatic notes i find generic.
For this i was thankful and bought it.needed a good summer scent and it came with deodorant stick.
It is a light fragrance and yet has very good longevity.
Usually citrus fragrances do not last and the notes almost never do.
A few compliments and no complaints.
Overall very happy with this.Mathilde Laurent did a nice job here.
The bottle inspired by cars from the 1950s is cool too and solid.
Same one as Roadster which i also enjoy.
Obviously for summer but its so light you could wear it anywhere.

This is an absolute fail in my book. Very generic and cheap smelling if you ask me. There are many other Cartier house brand fragrances to try and this ain’t one of them. Two thumbs down.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

Love the Brand but do not have much nice emotions with the fragrances i own by Cartier. Got master pieces like Must de Cartier & Declaration Essence in collection but these are rarely chosen to be a prime choice for an occasion (mostly due to my living in Hot region). Latest purchase is this Roadster Sport (for me quite resembled with Antonio’s Antonio, lots of pachouli for me). No energy to be a sporty fragrance at least… just a safe choice to be used at work and formal events. Lasting and silage both are not very remarkable, heavy sprays gives a max of 2-3 hours of longevity and silage is more closed to skin. Just a Fragrance IMO not The Fragrance! Similarities are for sure there in the market.

Very high-quality, sweet, citrusy, fresh scent arsenal! Have to say that personally reminds me of a very old-fashioned perfume scent ……….. This was also the category for sports! Take the Trussardi Action – Sports.
But until an Italian citrus bomb, while it is a Cartier ……. French, silky and yet grandiose phenomenon I think 80% is obtained in the same mood as the 90s T. Action – from sports just a different tone …….. like a super Italian pizza eat in Paris Eiffel – Tower ……. all in a half-foot of an elegant yet sporty outfit that comes with the odor associated with an absolute energetic , fun-loving, relaxed, however tempting Italian – lends a masculine appearance …………
The reason behind that is a fashion house that we suffice it to say that Cartier.

  25. :

    4 out of 5

Beautiful beautiful sport fragrance, its quality without a doubt. Longevity is the only problem with this one I get 3-4 hours max. Buy if it you don’t mind re-applying, you won’t regret it.

  26. :

Understatement and balance are the key things here. I’m sure there’s many a similar fragrances I wouldn’t like because of overuse of certain aspects. For example like too white floral, or too much of a particular spice like ginger or cardamom or the citrus notes seeming cheap, Roadster sport doesn’t suffer from any of these.
Roadster sport opens with a gorgeous citrus combo with orange in there too. Then a distinct white floral which in this toned down context is absolutely perfectly balanced and doesn’t detract anything from the fragrance. You can definitely smell the herby nature of sage and the patchouli is not dirty at all but clean and green with some nondescript woods in the base to round off a lovely dry down. I really like the smell of this fragrance it’s incredibly well done, more classy stuff from Cartier.

i get here a fresh cut grass/leaves vibe with some mint. dries down to a soothing woody scent. i saw on youtube how this could be a longevity monster, the reviewer saying he could smell it 12-14 hours after application. lucky him. i couldn’t get this to last more than 5 hours on my skin. the smell, however, is really unique. there is the evident richness and quality which the cartier name could be proud of.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Fresh fresh fresh nice summer scent… smell so unique and good longevity too..

First of all I’d like to say that on my skin it got a very good projection, and in my point of viewing there aren’t so many fragrances that smells the same.
I see roadster sport as a polite fragrance, very good one for daily use, to go to the office or a date or when you do not want to get people bored on your aggressive fragrance projection. It smells very green and fresh. I see as everything on it were well dosed and architected.
If you want a fragrance that smells fresh, green but not citrusy as Dior Homme Sport or Guerlain Homme in example, you should try this one. Give it a chance and you will not regret. Trust me, I did and now it’s one of my favorites.

This pefume did not stand out as something remerkable to me. It has the quality of Cartier products though but i think there are so many other frangrances out there with similar quality and aroma.I think sport editions are worse than original editions,so the same here and i consider that original roadster is by far better and has better longevity and projection as well.
    Not for me again,next!

A casual, unusual frag which is close to skin and does not last too long…
    I applied 6 heavy sprays
0 – 1.25 hours – 1.5 foot projection though it is quite timid. This feels related to Cartier Roadstar, but a lighter more subtle version. It borders on being a dated 90’s barber shop frag, but a green loveable herbal twist balances it and makes it quite fresh, and I always go back to smelling my skin
    1.25 hours – 2.25 hours – 3 inch projection
2.25 hours – 4 .5 hours – Close to skin. Such a shame as it is a lovely scent. Please release an intense/extreme version and I will purchase!
Lovely scent IMHO, though I think many may not like it as it is quite unusual,
Maybe not a safe blind buy
In terms of sport – this is more “so called” classy sport, perhaps squash in a posh country club, than your donwtown boxing club
I get little to no citrus in this

    Aroma/Fragancia : 10/10
    Fixação/Longevidade : 6/10
    Projeção/Silage : 7,5/10

Blind-buy because cheap price and without info of negative feedback.
This one is rich of Guaiac wood and Patchuli, that’s so luxuly and stay strong. In my opp Roadster Sport done better in the hot rainy day (or after the rainfall) I can feel Patchuli and Rosemary breezy with cool rainy-wind (when im wrote this review the rain starting to fall haha)
I think this one is not too bad as other reviews, just nothing special. And remind me to Le Baiser du Dragon from the same house.

  34. :

There is one fragrance I hate, and that’s CK Eternity, unfortunately, this is very similar, save your money.

  35. :

    5 out of 5

I enjoy using this fragrance, the orange blossom and bergamot gives it a clean and fresh aroma. The base note of black pepper and patchouli gives it a touch of spice and sweetness to it with a woodsy base from Guaiac wood.
I prefer using it during the summer time as well during the daytime then evening. The longevity is well past 6 hour’s which is hard to find in a summer fragrance.
Overall, I haven’t seen a similar frag come out during the summer and this cologne isn’t too sweet nor too citrusy either. It has a touch more of warm spicy aroma then most other summer cologne’s. 8/10

  36. :

    3 out of 5

To be honest I got good projection and longevity on this. Smells fresh, citrusy, green, I enjoyed it. Compliment getter, although not my favorite scent. Try it.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

Projection seem to be an issue in some Cartiers, Roadster original and Les Eaux as well. so much that I really thought my Roadster was a fake, I couldn’t beleive it could be so weak. Perhaps it meant to be like that because just as I thought it had all gone for good a little sweat/heat was enough to make it to come alive again. That’s why I think of them as transparent scent, you don’t notice, don’t smell but it’s there and perhaps that’s where quality counts for it’s been there all the time. Even with all these “problems” now that I’ve read some of the reviwe for the Sport version, I might as well get it. As I said before, besides all the issues I still love Cartiers scents.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

ITS NICE FRESH THE ONLY PROBLEM IS PROJECTION IS WEAK THAT MEAN U NEED TO PUT MORE THANE ONCE SO U CAN SMEEL IT ON UR SELF .

  39. :

    5 out of 5

I was sent a sample of this by a friend on the same day that I rediscovered my long lost bottle of Joop! What about Adam? and, bizarrely enough, I’d always said I’d never smelled anything like What About Adam… until now!
Foolhardily perhaps, I’m reviewing this very soon after spraying it so I can only really comment on the first impression that this scent creates. Despite not listing them among its notes, I detect the same grapefuity-tomato leaf accord that I find so prominent in WAA? but here, somehow, it is softened and enriched by herbs and wood with a touch of floral from the orange blossom perhaps?
It’s nothing ground-breaking and it seems to be fading all too quickly into the heart/base of fresh, green patchouli. I’ll happily wear this until my sample is spent but I won’t be rushing out for the bottle.

  40. :

    5 out of 5

Very weak but refined. Refreshing ? Maybe… but it’s more soft and discrete than zingy, which it hardly is at all. Since Roadster Sport is as discrete as it gets you have to own plenty of stuff that actually smells something to like it.

  41. :

    4 out of 5

fragancia verdeada e fresca…bosque meio floral, maravilhosamente produzida. pena nao fixar tanto e projetar perto da pele, mas é um digno Cartier. elegancia em um sport,só a Cartier pode fazer.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

Mandarin orange instead of lemon, green vibe instead of aquatic blue. So this is not the typical sport scent. Different than the original Roadster (no mint, no vanilla), but there are also some similarities, mainly from the patchouli. Projection and longevity are below average. Bought it because i got it dirt cheap. 20€ for 50ml. I enjoy it, it’s nice, refreshing, but wouldn’t pay full price for it. But if you are a Cartier fan and you are looking for a spring, summer fragrance, give it a try.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

Just got a bottle of this after taking home a sample. I gotta say I disagree with most here who say its a common scent. While some of the notes may be similar to other fragrances this one stands out to me as much more sophisticated in its subtlety. No screaming projection which I like. The citrus, wood, and pepper balance well with citrus being the most prominent. For me I would put the longevity of this scent at moderate to long lasting on my skin. The bottle is very nice looking as a bonus. Great stuff all around.

had a chance to get sniff at this one on a card for a friend and i thought it was dreamy and it had this beautiful waternote not listed, so i don’t know what notes create this illusion myabe its a trade secret anyhow i loved this one ,its for men but i dont care, i personally found it more interesting than aqua di gio but thats just my taste it made me think of an ocean beach with a forest near by , its beautiful

  45. :

This turned out really nicely. Of all the like-minded fresh citrus masculines, this one offers a more classic and satisfying cologne zest than many others at this price point. It stands its ground on individuality as it evolves. It turns into something that is neither the original Roadster nor a copy of some other scent labeled “Sport.”

  46. :

    5 out of 5

I Don’t know why anyone else here hasnt put it out to light yet the close it gets to the Allure Homme Edition Blanche, not in the opening so if you sniff it at store youre not gonna get it it starts 30 to 45 min after it begins to dry down
i own the Edition Blanche and its very similar just starts different
allure is linear always with lemon creamy feel
roadster open with mint herbal or something green and then citrus lemony starts and keep going till the base
    super duper

    The fresh take on roadster.
While the original is more of a minty vanilla ambery vetiver scent , this is a little citrusy with ” the mint “, the real naturel fresh crisp cooling appealing mint , not a dark one !!
I have really enjoyed the smell , it’s very much easy to wear in spring and summer.
Longevity is below average with good projection.
Far better then the synthetic aquatic “sport” current vibe.

Cartier Roadster Sport is a beautiful and very well blended scent – it got very uplifting notes, that makes you feel really comfortable. It starts very fresh and pleasant with nice bunch of green notes. Exactly the start is my favorite part about that smell.
I was about to fall in love with Roadster Sport, when I realized it doesn’t stay long on my skin – maybe 3-4 hours and it’s gone! What a pity!
If Roadster Sport had better longevity and silage it would be definitely one of my all time favorite scents…

  49. :

    5 out of 5

I love the spices in the fragrance. But I’m a little dissapointed with the fact it does’nt last that long.

  50. :

    3 out of 5

This would otherwise be a classic citrus blast and it’s true, after 10 minutes it dissapear and left with just a very light trace of wood. Perhaps this isn’t for tropical humid country like what we have here. I wish something like this would last much longer but I guess the basic ingredients wouldn’t react to tropical weather, what a pity!
I better stick to declaration, santos and must and for its price there’s always better option out there so beware, some products are not for blind buy and far better if you try it on and at least for 2-3 hours on your skin before thinking of purchase.
Maybe the roadster black is better? who knows…anyway the original one is not my taste.

I wouldn’t call the scent bad but the whole “sport” market that everybody seems to capitalize on and they all seem generic. Starting with, in my opinion, the Dior Sport, Gucci Sport, and Chanel Allure Sport. They seem to do well. That isn’t the case for this Cartier, Burberry, Lanvin, and perhaps Lacoste; Essential Sport in particular. They don’t seem to be as successful. If the price isn’t so expensive, I don’t think people would be disappointed as much in all of these Not-So-Special “Sport” fragrances. I still would consider acquiring one when the price is right or just for the heck of it. Definitely not because it smells better than anything else out there.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

I bought this fragrance yesterday and my opinion? Well the longevity in the skin is not as good as the other cartier fragrances (first), not special at all (second) and last althought I like the smell is not my favorite…

  54. :

    4 out of 5

I can’t agree with those said Roadster Sport has no common with the original Roadster. It has, but the character of Roadster here is conveyed by other notes – citruses. That’s why Roadster Sport has become rather similar to classical colognes (AdP Colonia Assoluta, for example, etc). Unfortunately, longevity is poor.
I’m not a fan of Roadster, and I don’t like Roadster Sport, but it is not so agressive, and more wearable to my opinion. It is sporty not in the “trendy” way of Dior Homme Sport/Azzaro Chrome Sport/ Burberry Sport, but in more traditional way.

  55. :

    3 out of 5

Everything is fine with this cologne except perhaps the longivity,it lasts barely 2 hrs on me whereas original Roadster lasts the whole day,a bit disappointed but if u can use it like an after bath cologne during summer it would be quite ok.

  56. :

    4 out of 5

Woody aromatic! Mandarin, bergamot, orange blossom, patchouli, oh my! Alas, a disappointment. Had all the right ingredients for me but it was not to be.
Don’t spend the money. Not typical but not special. Too many better options out there to spend your $ on. Next!
