this is a green fig with honey, labdanum and some cypress. it’s not a super green fig, due to the honey, but it isn’t super sweet either, even though it has honey. something in this, for lack of a better word, smells a bit dusty to me. dusty fig and honey with hints of cypress, haha. i like it, it just tends to get swallowed up by my skin, i can hardly smell it after about 10 minutes.

I must have lucked out with my body chemistry on this one. I don’t get any urine or anything unpleasant.
It’s just a nice slightly sweet green scent.
Strangely enough, it reminds me of the smell of a pea pod that just been broken open, green and sweet. I really like it and find it fresh, relaxing and transparent
*additional note: It was pointed out to me that this has a likeness to Philosykos by Diptyque, but without the Fig Fruit. It smells like the very dry down of Philosykos, the part that smells the way your skin smells when you come in from a walk in to outdoors on a brisk, slightly cold day.

Tested Revelation this evening. I think reviewer huiyt jumped to his conclusion a bit fast BUT there is absolutely something off-putting in the juice – some note that I wouldn’t rush to call “urine” but is something “not desirable” in most situations. My gut says maybe it’s a by-product of some chemical interaction – that maybe it’s not intentional. But my gut is not a chemist, alas, so WTF do I know!
I do know that this is a distinctive and thought-provoking scent. My net-net is that I’m not a fan of it. I’m a major CB booster, and this is his fist concoction that I have to say I will not wear again. That’s not a strike against CB though – you can’t please everybody with every scent, and I give him big kudos for continuously trying innovative things. Please keep it up, dude!
The honey feels on the “overwhelming” side to me. Assuming the source is natural and not synthetic, perhaps the off-note is a by-product of the honey source? Honeys can vary SO much based on the geography they were produced in.

REVELATION is definitely a woody fragrance in the beginning and in the end with honeyed like fig in the middle. It has an interesting composition and strong character but it is smooth enough not to knock me down. I do not have many woody scents but this one might make it into my collection. It is pleasant to wear and I find the scent’s development to be quite lovely on my skin.
The cypress is listed in the base but I definitely detect it in the opening. In fact, the cypress note is very lovely mixed with the light fig scent. It has very Mediterranean vibe to it, aromatic, fresh and lovely. The scent changes significantly in the heart notes when the honeyed, ripe fig takes the stage. The scent is still layered on a woody tone, which I find quite appealing. In the dry down, the woods come forward again with the cedar leading the way. The composition finally develops into woody scent with a bit of amber.
I was looking for a fig fragrance but I might have found my cypress fragrance. I do like this interpretation of the fig with a strong woody accent but if you are looking for a fragrance that represents the fig at its best, this would not be my first choice. My overall rating is 7/10.
