Nothing from this line has blown me away, but again it’s a nicely constructed fragrance of real quality and substance but no wow factor at all. Rêve de cashmere starts out in a very minimalist way, the opening notes, milky, creamy and washed out with vanilla. However the accord starts to build and you get the warm cahmerean the vanilla and sandalwood creeping up on you in a slight but in the end very good performing fragrance. The over all feel is one of a delicate leather with some resinous, balmy qualities too. Very nice indeed but lacking that one note, or little spark and pop of spice or something unexpected to bring it all together and inject some life into the perfume. Otherwise solid and some of my favourites from the line.

This is my first impression for VC&A Reve d’Encens from the premioum line of VC&A. It’s not at the database.
This is slightly better than Van Cleef & Arpels Rêve de Cashmere a true unisex oriental scent full with spices (beautiful incense), floral (beautiful and thick oriental red rose) slightly semi-gourmand (saffron), safe and versatile for mild weather (spring-fall-summer and early winter, day and night). The only minus is the common (not really a minus..) but pleasant smell. Reve de Cashmere has a more uncommon smell imo.
Dominant notes are saffron, which gives to the blend slightly a semi-gourmand vibe, beautiful smoky rose, the churchy incense is very well blended with the thick red rose, intensive but creamy sandalwood and at the late dry down, a beautiful sensual white musk. Overall it feels very oriental and very pleasant. It you like ssffron/incense/rose combo on a woody base give it a try.
This is good and long lasting fragrance with high-moderate sillage and projection. I’ll try it again because it might worth a fb. It retails here 460 usd per 125 ml.

This is the best creation from VC&A house imo. A super-smooth and masterfully blended, soft but long lasting with rich body, pleasant and safe, with great versatility unisex scent. Suitable for year round use, day and night, except extreme temperatures.
Dominant notes are cashmirwood (tones of it at the opening and the first stage of its evollution) and leather. There is also intensive sandalwood, mild musk, mild patchouli, noticeable heliotrope. Vanilla has only aroma and not sweetness. Although there is a faint sub-sweet vibe in the blend. As time passes the leather bocomes the leader. This makes it unisex IMO.
Overall it feels velvety elegant and classy but it’s not something new. It is long lasting with moderate/average sillage. If you love leather and cashmirwood give it a try.
Update
OK, I don’t feel confortably wearing it. Longevity is awesome, sillage/projection are good but it feels strange. Very pleasant smell but I think it would fit better on a woman. The opening leans to feminine scents. The midfle stage is totally unisex because there is a smooth & dominant leather note. And the late drydown feels again like woman’s cosmetics or the pleasant smell that my Lego toys used to have. In fact it’s very close to that smell.
Verdict. I love it, it has everything, good smell, nice performance, but it’s not for me. Some day in future I may buy it but for now it’s a no for me.

The initial spray is ever-so mesmerising: a decadent elixir consisting of cashmere, cardamom (to my nose), tonka and vanilla. I was in HEAVEN. 20 minutes later, however, the scent evolved into a rather dull and headache inducing aroma consisting of tonka, vanilla, iris (to my nose) and patchouli. I wish the opening phase persisted because I would have bought it on the spot. The bottle is very beautiful though! Longevity is good, >6 hours on my skin.

It is a warm and excellent fragrance which smells so good on my skin. To me it smells a bit like precious oud but maybe it’s just a delusion since I smelt so many fragrances before smelling it. Besides I just tried it once quite a period ago so it may not be so accurate at all. Nevertheless, I can still remember the stunning moment it gave me and the warmness of cashmere it creates when I smelt it. I will definitely get one for winter.
