Description

Austrian artist Nana de Bary launched her new fragrance line Liaison de Parfum, which consists of four poetically named perfumes: Stay With Me, I Dare You, Resist Me and No Matter What. The inspiration for these fragrances comes from love of life and its many faces – desire, intimacy, passion and friendship. The line was conceived in Vienna and produced in France, using old techniques of perfume making.

Resist Me contains notes of leather, cedar and lavender and embodies particularly alluring elegance. It is designed for a sophisticated woman who portrays experience, intelligence and daring confidence. Top notes are bergamot, lemon, tangerine, lavender and immortal. The heart is made of cedar, patchouli, iris and geranium. The base comprises of sandalwood, leather and musk.

The bottles are simple, clean and logo-free, inscribed with a quote that had inspired each of the perfumes.

Resist Me was launched in 2013.

This is more than reminiscent of Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier’s classic Parfum d’Habit. One might think of it as a contemporary version, this time containing a vibrant cedar note in replace of that exceptional retro geranium that Parfum d’Habit sports.
Comes out of the gates all guns blazing with a leather that is ever so nearly ‘vintage’ accompanied by an ephemeral spritz of a lovely juicy, yet delicate, tangerine that lasts seconds. If you go looking you’ll find nuances of smoke, ash, even bicycle inner tube. Strange, yet rewarding. Some will find this scary.
After 30mins a delicious cedar note emerges wrapped up with supporting cast of lavender and patchouli and a whisper of geranium. It brings a well needed depth and vibrancy to that vintage leather. Lavender works a treat here I must say, giving an air of serious, without running too masculine. Immortelle creeps in to a rather prominent position in the perfume, giving a touch of dry, herbaceous and rather textured spiciness. Its all pretty good, but remains rather ‘matt’. Nothing is going to jump out here. Its rounded and well behaved, and gets increasingly so. The kind of progression that reminds again of Parfum d’Habit.
Interesting stuff this. I feel some will love it, some will not.

This is sexy juice! “Resist Me”–it’s a dare, and I totally fail. This is a woods lover’s dream. The dark, leathery, smoky woods are bewitching. A touch of fresh geranium and a faint hint of sweet immortelle create balance. People are really crazy for sandalwood (I am too!) but I have smelled a lot of cedar essential oils lately, and I realize that I might even prefer cedar over sandalwood. Both can be very creamy. This perfume is loaded with gorgeous woods. There’s just a bit of an incense-like quality when it dries down.
I like the feeling of luxury that it gives me. I feel enrobed in warmth when I wear it.
Update: Finally bought a full bottle. I get much more leather than I got from the vial. It is like a rough brown leather, much like the leather icon above, not like smooth black leather. Still a beautiful fragrancee, but I wish I got more woods like I got from the sample vial.

Super lovely dark perfume, totally unisex, intellectual and spiritual. Perfect chiaroscuro fragrance – not a showstopper, but a source of inspiration and self-confidence.

THis one starts of Realy Dark Leathery on my skin ,i like leather but this is a bit to uch on the masculine side , also there is a Dark smokeyness in this scent , and somhing that smells a bit like burnedt rubber tiers not offensive but strong and woodsy . Somehow this reminds me og slumberhouse scents . Im not shure if it is the Norne or the Jeke im thinking about Rather th first one i think . They are not the same but have some of the same darkness and same trill to them . Not bad not bad , just not my style

If you like Naomi Goodsir’s Bois D’Ascese or Mad Et Len Black Afghan, you might want to give this a chance.
A dry and smoky, woody leather with a strident citrusy opening. Less meditative than the Goodsir and more centered around woody notes than the Mad Et Len but still pretty good if you like rough smoky stuff. Kind of a *go-to* interpretation of the main theme.
Perhaps not completely exciting but good nonetheless.
Edit: Ok, I changed my mind. This is completely good.

I had forgotten what notes were in this sample when I tried it on, and I got something woodsy, dry and slightly green. Now by looking at the description here, I see what it was; the leather, patchouli and cedar. I didn’t (and still don’t) smell any of the other notes. This makes a very nice masculine fragrance, and I would also recommend it for women who like woodsy scents (this one is a bit dry, which I appreciate, and there is no sweetness and no flowers in it). Not my preference, but I enjoyed trying it! I’ll try to get my husband to wear this. I would like to smell it on men. A nice, simple, dry woody fragrance, and it sits very close to the skin.

A truly surprising fragrance. It opens, a perfect replica of a greasy tire shop. It does sweeten a bit after an extended drydown, whereon the leather and immortelle notes come through. A strong masculine.

I don’t get fecal matter at all (like the reviewer before me), but I wouldn’t say that I am the person for this scent. There’s no citrus to speak of, I don’t notice lavender AT ALL, but I think the musk is used to good effect. It’s incredibly woodsy and there’s an initial dash of nag champa that is not my favorite aspect, but the musk mellows and softens what could have otherwise been “eau de campfire”. On the dry-down, there are hints of beeswax, which I like, and warm wood, it’s more like an upscale yoga studio than it is like a headshop. It’s pretty, but it’s not something that I think I’d need a full bottle of.

Ugh, I’m sorry. Did this turn in transit? This smell is so unbelievably fecal it’s making me sick. I don’t smell the citric top notes at all. I get nothing but an immediate dirty cedarwood with strong leather tones and maybe a barely there dash of patchouli or immortelle. Words cannot describe how pungent and horrible this cedar is, like an animal relieving itself on a cedar bed. So, so horribly bad. I need this off of me, now. Please let there be somthing wrong with this sample.
Edit: Everybody in my household agrees that that I’m not crazy. This is just bad.
