I smelled this today while shopping for leotards at Repetto. I walked out with a bottle of this instead of new leotards. Hahha! Truly the most unique and evocative fragrance I have ever encountered, thus far. For some strange reason, it has the power to enhance and intensify any emotion I am momentarily feeling. And that’s dangerous. When I smell this and I look out the window into the night; the night feels darker than usual! When I smell this and I laugh; my laugh feels happier than usual! It’s like a talisman fragrance that possesses the power to intensify any emotion or vision currently felt or seen. And that scares me! I have never experienced anything like that, before.
My friend was shopping with me and she pulled me to her nose to smell this fragrance at least 15 times after I sprayed it on! She said that every time she smells it, she thinks of some new memory or daydream or feeling. She said that the fragrance pulls her in, further and further, the more she smells it!
It’s sweet but not cheap. It’s sweet like the black licorice candies that were so mysterious to my eyes when I was a child; when I would stand there and stare up at them on the shelves of the grocery store, wondering why in the world they were black!! And yet they tasted sweet in a way that still tasted “black”!
It’s a full, whole scent that’s blackly sweet. To me, it smells nothing like its bottle. It’s mysteriously poisonous and intoxicating. Very deceiving little scent. Incredible!
UPDATE: A few days later and I am STILL falling for this perfume! Just like back when I was a little girl and I would keep a bottle of perfune hidden away from everyone and would go to put it on in secret and sniff it in secret to let it carry me away to other places… I thought I might never find a perfume that could do that again for me again, as an adult. This is the ONLY one that has done this for me again, since childhood! I sniff it from the bottle several times a day, I guess how an addict would sniff cocaine! Never expected to find this in such a humble, underrated perfume! I will have to buy 10 000 bottles of this stuff, lest they ever discontinue it!
It’s so warm and woody and blackly sweet… all at the same time!!

I’m never particularly convinced by the idea of “cherry blossom” in general. As a young weeb in the mid-00’s, I had a bottle of The Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT, and was determined to learn to love it. I wore it on and off, and thought perhaps Body Shop had a poor understanding of what cherry blossom was supposed to smell of. I’ve come to realise that I was hoping for cherry instead – a floral fruit perhaps, and I certainly do like cherry floral-fruit-gourmands like Lolita Lempicka Fleur Defendue.
So I’m more than a little ambivalent on that very high floral top note and I’ve decided instead to think of that sharp opening blast as ‘champagne’… or something. It’s sparkling and acid enough to be such. It’s not enough to sully the rest of the story for me; the round warmth of pear settles in so fast that you forget all about the cherry blossom, and roses and pears and vanilla are a year round joy as fragrance combos.
This isn’t the perfume a ballerina would wear. It’s too wide awake and floral. It certainly meets the accepted aesthetic of ballet, girly, lovely, light, etc. But actual dancers spend most of their time stuck inside doing all the hard work ballet actually entails – classes, rehearsals, physical therapy, work outs, sewing, then the marathon of performance – there’s not a lot of free time for walking down cherry blossom lined boulevards in Paris. If you want to smell like a ballerina I’d recommend giving Oriflame’s Pretty Swan or similar powder frags a try. This is a ballet perfume, perhaps for the Rose Adagio in The Sleeping Beauty. A ballerina perfume must be a little bit more knowing than this is.
As for the accusation of the drydown descending into manly or at the very least gender-neutral territory… I don’t smell it. It does dry into a substantial wood-musk, but that’s not inherently masculine.
Unrelated to the actual juice – the spray pump is pressurised so a single pump gives a long, deep blast of perfume, instead of tiny squirt – very easy to apply too much if you don’t anticipate it.

Lovely. Playful and girly fruity floral scent. A happy scent for all ages.

Smells better on paper than on my skin. The pear is definitely the star player, it is the same kind of pear that is featured in Jimmy Choo, La Vie Est Belle, J’Adore Dior, La Nuit Trésor etc. The problem is I am not a huge fan of pear in perfume… on my skin this one also develops a men’s shaving cream edge that is not present on paper, which is a bit unexpected, but yeah. I can’t say I dislike it though, so it’s a weak like.

This fragrance starts off strong and clean and feminine, but then you go to bed wearing this and you change into a man. Lol I mean really this smells like mens fragrance. Think perfume that changes gender, I have never had a fragrance do that to me before.
I won’t be buying or wearing this fragrance again on me. The bottle I got is a trial Suze tester.

Repetto is a light and sparkling perfume that is perfect for warm weather. It’s sweet but not overbearing and the pear and rose notes dance beautifully together. The bottle is so pretty, I especially love the pale pink ribbon and rose gold touch. The perfume embodies a ballerina who makes the dance look effortless, disguising the blood, sweat and tears that are behind the curtain.

Compared to the Repetto eau de parfum, I think this one lasts longer..
What I like about this perfume is the girly & soft aroma.. I never get tired sniffing my wrist a couple hours after sprayed this haha

This was an interesting scent. I sprayed some on my while at a department store. I was intrigued by the story behind this and I really liked the bottle. I would say that I enjoyed the smell of this once I sprayed it and on the paper and on my skin. When I picture how I would imagine a ballerina would smell, this was pretty accurate. However, as much as I enjoyed those aspects, it just wasn’t for me.

This one isn’t for me: my first thought was “if this is really what ballerinas wear, I hope they’re light sprayers, otherwise they’ll just distract each other from their dance!”. This negative reaction is mostly due to the initial blast of “cherry blossom”: isn’t that supposed to be summum of delicacy? Here it’s anything but, quite synthetic in its floral sweetness, and not very light at all.
After that it gets better: the cherry blossom calms down a lot, the pear emerges, and what remains is quite a pretty fruity floral: sweet, innocent, very girly. It’s a bit thirteen to the dozen, and longevity and sillage are average: certainly nothing to write home about in my opinion, but certainly nice. All in all I thinkthis falls in that dreaded category between “like” and “dislike” for me.

I bought it initially because this scent comes with an impressive story about the inspiration, the passion for the classic dance and it’s created to reflect all that magic. And it really shows – the box with a thin satin ribbon, the bottle with the same decoration and an exquisite little charm. I like the sound it makes when it lightly touches the glass. Simple and sophisticated. And the scent… On me the opening is a fresh, realistic, bittersweet cherry blossom bouquet which makes me think about what comes next – a juicy, ripe, sweet cherries. The sweetness isn’t annoying, cheap or too much, it’s just there to add some elegance. Then I get a beautiful rose -rather fresh and soft. The base on me is a nice, rosy sandalwood with a hint of vanilla ( but again – very soft, almost not there). I don’t smell here “La vie est belle” by Lancome. This scent is sparkling, transparent, juicier, but not just plain girly ( I sometimes even get some citrus (not listed) at the beginning). That’s why I understand the comparision with the Chanel perfumes. Indeed, there’s that sparkling, expensive vibe in a soft way, just to give an idea about that, so it’s not a clone of Chanel, it’s closer to Zen by Shiseido. And one more suprise -it’s an EdT, but it really lasts on me. A beautiful spring/ summer perfume which makes me dream about the sunrise and dance in the sunset.

I think its very floraly and sharp. You can definitely tell there are roses in there! On me it lasts long, for about 6-7 h. Its a spring or maybe even summery scent, due to the flowes. If you like creamy, sweet kind of fragrances, this is not your cup of tea for sure!

Liked it better on the scent strip than on my forearm, unfortunately.
The cherry blossom scent in the beginning was just not for me, it actually gave me a bit of a headache.
I liked the dry down a lot more, though – the rose and vanilla really came through with a noticeable hint of the woody notes.

I purchased the small vial of sample to try, the first time i sprayed i thought that this is the kind of smell which suits very young women like 18-23. But the more i used the more i got hooked on to it. I cannot get away from sweet stuffs, this kind of sweet is really what i call a perfume with character, not the kind that lacks imagination like VS’s range. However never go more than 3 sprays, it may just intoxicate you if you got it on your neck or hair. Haha!

With no disrespect intended, it smells like a Bath & Body Works fragrance, which is nothing to complain about unless that just isn’t your style.
It opens with a strong “cherry blossom” note (cherry blossoms don’t actually have a fragrance) that reminds me of a great lotion my Aunt bought me once from B&BW. In tandem is a strong pear note closely followed by orange blossom. It’s very sweet in the popular style but it also stays soft and delicate. It’s very feminine and likely to appeal to girly girls of all ages. It also has excellent longevity for an EDT.
That artificial cherry blossom note is too strong for me, personally, but I’d still consider this a people-pleaser.

One spray and it lasted very long.
I tried this on the counter just yesterday evening and it lasted til morning.
It’s more powdery than I expected. It’s soft and delicate.
I do love the shoes more though 🙂

My impression: equal part pear and rose with a hint of balsam woods. I love Repetto flats and I so wanted to be besotted with this perfume. Alas, not to be. The florals, supposedly cherry blossoms but smells like clear rose (non-smoky or spicy) to me, make it different but it also is sharp to my nose. Within the first hour, I kept sniffing my wrist on the way home and sneezed from the sharp florals. If I sprayed on my decolette, I think I will get a headache. Pretty but this mix is not for me even if discounted. The bottle design perfectly embodies the ballet theme.
    One spray on me,
    Sillage: a foot
    Longevity: 3-4 hours
    Rating: 2/5 disappointing

My first impressions of this perfume are that it’s incredibly light and airy, pretty and feminine, yet I get this warmer feel for it as it wears longer. Now, about an hour after applying, Repetto has this soft, warm and luxurious scent that I am loving. Not too strong or overpowering, but still beautiful. Surprisingly, I have always hated rose (hello cheap bathroom potpourri), but this is definitely an exception. Vanilla always develops well on my skin, and it is definitely noticeable here, and the cherry blossom and pear make it more complex. I do agree with others here in comparing this to Jimmy Choo – Repetto is reminiscent of Jimmy Choo’s sweeter, more innocent little sister.

I know my husband loves heavy feminine perfumes like narcisso rodriguez, angel and hypnotic poision.. This perfume has a very good staying power and reminds me of narcisso rodriguez , yet narcisso to my taste is a finer perfume. This however does almost the same effect and at exactly half the price .

I was in Sephora store one day looking for latest perfume. The salesgirl approached me and offer help. So I tell her Im looking for some perfume that unique, non-cloying other perfume. Then she introduced me to Repetto and yes, its a unique, almost undescribeable. The opening is fresh and citrusy, followed by woody and flowery undertones. I keep the paper strip in my car and keep sniffing it. The drydown is more woody, a bit flowery with hint of citrus. Lovely. However, I have a bad habit – I like to think is there any perfume smell like this? I dont really like to wear a perfume that remind me of other perfume, its feels not alright. The next day I figure out one perfume that similar to this; Shiseido Zen -the one in golden bottle. Then I forget my intention to buy. Such a disappoinentment.

Sadly, 3 out of 3 friends that smelled this on me only had one word to say about this: “sweet.” They all independently gave that as their ONLY opinion of this scent.
I say sadly, because I fell in love with this fragrance because I find it far more complex than just “sweet.” The initial spray is sweet and spicy to me, and I can also smell something warm and milky, I’m guessing the amber and the woody notes.
For me, it’s the perfect fall fragrance. As the weather cools, the longevity on this extends to 7-8 hours on me, pretty impressive for an EDT this light.

Repetto is delicate and lovely…I’m quite surprised it’s not as savagely popular as Viva La Juicy. It doesn’t call to my nose Coco Mlle, or Chance, or La Vie Est Belle (3 of my favorites), in the least. Maybe if I knew of only these three fragrances in the entire world, I’d be forced to compare Repetto to them…but I don’t pick up the Polge- vanilla-patchouli-sweet in this on my skin. Repetto is very fruity, with prominent pear. I just can’t make myself like pear as a fragrance note, and I’ve never owned a perfume that has any discernable pear notes…Repetto is not going to change this.
If forced to compare Repetto to other fragrances with which I’m familiar, this smells like a muted blend of Especially Escada and Bath & Body Works Pink Chiffon. I like it, and I think it really suits the drastically feminine, delicate abstraction of Ballet marketed by Repetto. If you love pear you must have this one.

The opening of pear and cherry blossom smells lovely this very warm summer morning. I applied at 7:30 am and it’s still on my skin at 4pm. On me, it is a very long lasting EDT and I find this pretty typical of anything with amber in the base – at least on my skin. As it dries down I get this soft smokey pear note that is just wonderful. With a price point of $35 for a 1 oz bottle, I’m happy I added this to my wardrobe!

Love the way it smell. I don’t know many options for perfumes which starting with cherry blossom and ending with woody notes…It makes all the difference between cheap and luxury.
But although such a nice smell…EDT not last long. Actually less than I expected and comparing to other bottoles and smells this one not really staring on the rack.

I dont like this 🙁 It makes me sick since its.. too.. I cant describe it.. Its sweet and fruity but its too heavy and is not my type. And Im sure that this perfume is not appropriate for my age. Maybe Ill get to like this perfume when I get older but Im sure now isnt the time.

Very pretty, innocent, yet coquettish and undeniably sweet and tempting !
At first it smells like Jimmy Choo EDT. But it has more gourmand and at the same time aquatic aspects. Woody and amber notes give it a refreshing feel, making this fragrance acceptable to wide range of taste.
I think this is a very well composed, very well balanced fragrance. I bet it will be one of my fave frags !!

Ads describe this fragrance as ‘satine rose’ and I would say, it is correct, at least at the beginning. Later it is more and more soapy, even if it keeps floral notes. Delicate scent for ladylike women. Perfect for evenings, when you go out, but would like to use some moderate & elegant fragrance.

  28. :

Soo nice, pretty scent, a bit gourmand but not too much, it is rich yet delicate, not heavy, not heady, just very feminine with a classy vibe. The sweetness is light, it is very cozy, I won’t say it is real complex or offers a nice development, because it doesn’t. Polge is a great nose. His fragrances are crowd pleaders, always feminine, and modern. A lively mix of freshness, strength, and overall prettiness.
Very similar to Coach Love..and a bit of Coco Mademoiselle in there too..very French.

Beautiful notes that create a beautiful fragrance. Lovely freshness and a creamy wood base with just a hint of vanilla and amber. I like this a lot and I find it to go very well together with the ballerina theme. It’s airy and yet strong, just like a picture a professional dancer to be.

To me, this smells almost exactly like Jimmy Choo EDT but better, stronger, fresher, sweeter, spicier, more vibrant.
    Very pleasant, oh yes.

If you love Guerlain`s Aqua Allegoria Cherry Blossom, you love this one! (like me) It`s one of the purest cherry blossom smells in the market. It`s really soft and suits well on day wear. Not very original, but I still love it!

Repetto seems to be one of the last works of Olivier Polge before he becomes Chanel’s in-house perfumer. In this creation Olivier bears out that he is main hitmaker of the modern mass market. Repetto is the ideal 2013 fragrance: being unique, though basing on the popular ideas it has to please every woman on the planet. The eau de toilette smells like a cross between Lancome La Vie est Belle and Gueralin La Petite Robe Noir. They took the floral pear vanilla base of Lancome without oversweet praline and enriched it by juicy cherries. That way we get a fragrance that is floral, fruity and sweet simultaniously, and, furthermore, it is extremely contemporary.

I wanted to love this, but I think it is only appropriate for someone who is young age wise or very young at heart and loves cherry blossom notes. The topnotes held promise, with tremors of a sophisticated blend of rose, pear, with a bit of woods and vanilla. But after the first ten minutes on my my skin, the cherry blossom note took over, aided by the rose and jasmine and the scent morphed into a rather sickeningly sweet middle phase. It’s not heavy, fortunately, but still too much cherry going on for my taste. The final drydown is a much faded skin scent with leftover sniffs of woods and amber with a soupcon of rose. The bottle and box are lovely but this fragrance is just not for me.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

I love ballet and when I try to imagine the scent it has to be strong but feminine. This one smells fruity, sickly sweet like a perfume for a girl which is naively dreaming to be ballerina, not a strong athletic woman who can effortlessly enchant the audience. Maison Repetto has great reputation and this perfume isnt doing it any good in my opinion.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

I wanted to love it, honestly. As soon as it arrived I opened it and there it was. Coco. The original. I am saying far more by admitting I am old enough to have bought Coco when it was first launched (yes, it is true) But…I have morphed into something else so this is not something I wanted to see again. Hopefully this smells better on Dorothee than it does on me. Dommage!

  36. :

    4 out of 5

Fresh and light. Not very original but lovely, feminine and delicate. Citrusy at first, then pear, rose and vanilla become very present so it’s juicy, romantic and sweet. Makes me think of Jimmy Choo, in a sweetest way.
For young women. Correct lasting power.

    150) crushed to death
The theme of this fragrance evolves around small rats of the Opera. If you like Swan Lake you will be disappointed but if you like Dance of the Hours revisited in Fantasia with a horde of hippopotamus and elephants there is a clear link.
It seems that we can make classical dance with 40 pounds overweight today (X factor effect).
This creation of Olivier Polge is yet another victim of the development of the La Vie est Belle project, which is probably one of the first rejected trials. There is a big adequacy problem with the brand.
