Im testing my bottle (a new formula) and it reminded me of my beloved Fiorilu by Pupa…but maybe this one is more on the woody/earthy solid side, and Pupa’s is more airy/etherial and delicate. It is best suited to be sprayed on fabric, in this way you will be able to smell the childish/waxy/honeyed notes…

Sold at Walmart but does nor smell cheap. Prominent honey/bees wax note. Sweet. Reminded me a smell of a Soviet (USSR) paint for kids art. 🙂 Maybe because that paint was also made with honey. I wont buy a full size bottle but I rather like it. Cheapie worth trying. At certain point reminded me Venecia by Laura Biagiotti.

Lovely powdery-rose, honey-beeswax concoction. Unfortunately it smells a bit dated like a bowl of rose potpourri on my skin, but I can imagine its a very beautiful scent if it suits your skin chemistry.
Reminds me a lot of the reformulated Rumba – maybe if you like that one give this a try – it’s a cheap thrill.

Powdery, beeswaxy rose, incense smokey and honey but the plastic doll note kills it for and just gives me a headache. Cool bottle!

I’ve been shopping for a perfume that smells similar to Krizia Teatro Alla Scala. These two are very close with my chemistry. VERY close. It must be the honeycomb, musk, rose, and patchouli, which both formulations share. Compared to the prohibitive prices for Teatro, I can still find affordable bottles of Regine’s on eBay. It’s less potent than Teatro, but I’ll just reapply. I think I can wear it this coming spring and summer.

Buy it again on Amazon today. The colour is too dark and smell like old perfume. So disappointed. The first one is from my friend and it’s really good but the second one is a disaster. If you want to buy this don’t buy on Amazon.com.

I wasn’t sure what to make of this on first application. But when it dries down it is wonderful.
If you like perfumes in the style of Molinard Musc or Joop, this would be right up your alley.
That said, if you have either of those, you might not need this one…unless you are craving a bit of a beeswax untertone.

I stumbled upon Regine last week while perusing a well loved perfume buying site. I have NEVER heard of it before….seems that so many are familiar with it. I was immediately intrigued by the bottle so I hopped on over here to check out the notes. Sounded delicious! I received my package today ( I know you all know that feeling of suspense and delight in waiting for your packages!!) I had ordered a couple others but opened this one first. I even love the packaging…reminds me of metallic wallpaper from the seventies! So…I gave it a spritz….and…..ahhhh…..ohhhh….mmmmm!! What a deliciously smoky little treat this one is! I see that the notes list beeswax, not honey…yet I see a lot of mention of honey. I don’t smell honey……sweet? Yes…but not honey sweet. Beeswax is a different smell from honey and I totally love it…..I sadly don’t smell it here either…at least not as a stand out note. What I do smell is tobacco…tobacco…tobacco! A sweet, smooth, smokey stogie that’s been steeping in thick amber and vanilla with just a hint of rasberry. Reminds me of my Grandpa! Maybe the new formulation ( which I suspect I have) is that much different….I would have liked to have been able to smell the beeswax but I’m happy with whatever this has evolved into…especially since I am unfamiliar with the vintage version. It seems to have really lovely sillage ( I’m in a cloud of yumminess right now that is jussssst right…not too loud…not too soft). It’s good….reminds me a bit of Lalique Le Parfum.

$11/bottle. Holy hell. It is really soft with no projection at all but at that price you can bathe in it. It goes on like the scent of an unlit cigarette, that sweet tobacco smell. Then, as it dried down the honey notes come forward. I don’t usually like sweet, soft or gourmand but this is a YES for me on a blind buy.

Totally bewitching! Honey, Amber and tonka create the most harmonious concoction I have smelled recently! At first it bursts with something very animalic, almost civet like and develops into a resinous, soft, sweet beauty. I just couldn’t keep my wrist away from my nose, totally intoxicating. There is a Smoky element beneath that goes well with the rest of the notes, I usually don’t care for raspberry but here is masterly used to moderate the sirupy animalic sweetness of beeswax. Very good sillage and longevity, for me it’s a cold weather scent, but it can depend on the skin. So glad I got it and I have to thank my dear Fragranticans for this beautiful juice as their reviews helped a great deal. A great addition to any wardrobe.

Where East meets West or the fragrance of the Queen Bee.
Dear passionata20, because of your passionate review I went for a blind buy and..put it among my favourites.
What a structure with micro-layers and nuances. I feel like I live in hive and fed by royal jelly.
It is incredible juice, natural, dense, 24-hours lasting, with each few hours smelling more and more beautiful. Every ingredient knows it’s role and impresses here, within the most natural beeswax lives deep, sweetened by raspberry Rose, it breathes out amazing type of an amber. To me it is like ancient candle-warmth of Dana Tabu meets modern medicinal amber in Gaultier 2, that creates warm, erotic sweetness. Also boozy loud start of vintage Rumba by Balenciaga. But the fact is that Regine does hers own thing, this juice is so consistent and full of life – that it does not require our comparisons with any others. I Am chuffed, what a great find indeed!

    Fixa bem e deixa rastro.
Não gostei da saída, mas simpatizei com a evolução.

Beeswax/honey and amber with spices – there is nothing fresh and nothing sexy about this, but plenty of cloying and sticky. It might be better in cold weather – but I like to smell either fresh or sexy or delicious even in winter, so I’ll pass.

i don’t see the masculine version, REGINE´S POUR HOMME, I use it, wonderful woodly, masculine and pungent fragrance

This is a nice, old, yet lovely fragrance. I wasn’t sure of what to expect ordering Regine’s parfum after reading the reviews.
I resigned myself to fate, whatever would be would be.
But then it arrived today and I’m loving it. It’s a rich perfume, very sweet and ambery and for older women. So I’ll be gifting this to my mum. And I’m sure she’ll love.
Gosh the dry down is so lovely I keep smelling my wrist. Need I add that I have Regine’s on my right wrist and Toni Gard for women by Toni Gard on my left. I can’t tell where the one ends and the other begins. I could perfectly use the two together.

I couldn’t resist the very cheap price and good reviews on this one. It arrived today.
The packaging is huge, and very lovely, it reminds me of a peacock. Looking at the box makes me feel cheerful and happy, it is very decorative.
The bottle is pretty cool as well.
The juice is old school in the best meaning of the word.
It reminds me to Samsara. A bit sweeter (never gets too sweet, stays in good balance) and boozier and less woody but very similar on my skin, to my nose. Hard to believe because Samsara is such an amazing quality scent. Also hard to believe because they only share few notes. I will soon try them on my arms for a better comparison.
Samsara can very well be considered a queen among fragrances, and I get the feeling this one is not called Regine without a reason.
Update: With Samsara on one arm and Regine’s on the other they are less similar… this is much sweeter while the other blends in my skin in a refined way. Seems their similarities cancel each other out to my nose, and the sweetness emerges from it.
New update: My nose makes a real fool of me, or, rather,y the way my brain is wired. This is nothing like Samsara. However, this doesn’t make it any less, they are just different, amazing scents.
So, Regine’s is opulent, rich, heady, like golden honey drops, with a deep animalistic, slightly smoky murmur. Today it was more animalic than its notes would suggest. Lasts for a full day.

I had the original formulation of this in the late 1990s, but the reformulation to my nose is a completely different beast. The new formulation, to my nose, is very synthetic and has nothing natural about the notes. It’s a sort of chemical cacophony, discordant notes that aren’t even slightly close to a “dupe” of the original.
Sure, with IFRA and all the new regulations now: this is common for reformulations to not be quite as they were. However: the cheap price on this particular reformulation doesn’t even merit a place in my “ultra casual” collection.
To be fair: maybe I bought an “off” bottle, but I’m not sure I want to spend even USD 12$ to give this another try. I bought my bottle BNIB from a reputable website where I often buy other fragrances. Maybe I’ll try a sample for comparison to my bottle if ever I have the chance.
I have been trying to find a vintage, but apparently they are quite elusive, in my own experience.
The original was a robust, lush, and succulent bouquet of white florals, kept calm and not overly-sweet by the patchouli and a bit of a dry, semi-salty amber. Yes, it was a sillage monster, and yes: it lasted for 10+ hours on my skin. (Would you expect differently coming from Regine)? 😉
Still: applied with a light hand, or walking through a mist of this in the air? Marvelous. Not an every day type of fragrance in my opinion.
I will still most certainly buy a vintage if I can find one, but for now? I choose to stay far and away from the new, reformulated edition.

Perhaps in order to appreciate this scent you have to have a different scent background/exposure. I’m early 30’s, and have grown up loving well layered, organically composed scents that lack the synthetic punch this perfume is packing.
This stuff, to put it diplomatically, is an acquired taste. If your taste runs toward synthetic, acridly composed drugstore perfume, then this is a jackpot.
In purchasing some perfumes online I added this to my order, since it was very cheap. Just opened and sniffed it, and I am not a fan. I’m pretty open to all scents, with a weakness for woody-floral scents, but this is not something I’d use even as a room spray. It is also beyond CLOYING. Reminds me of the scent I’d expect to come across in a cheap nail salon…

I bought a bottle of this perfume online because I remember it from decades ago when there was an add with a bottle in a bowl with ice cubes. I remember trying it and liking it. I am very sentimental about scents I have known for a long time. I do not remember the scent though and did not open my 100 ml bottle yet. I like keeping the expectation. I also find the bottle very beautiful.

I own my second bottle of this perfume. The first bottle I purchased at Neiman Marcus the year it came out.(?? early 80’s or late 70’s— sorry to elderly to remember!) as stated by passionate20, it lasts and lasts. I ALWAYS receive compliments whenever I wear it. That is not often as it is so very rare and difficult to obtain. I cannot imagine ever not having it so will make it last until I reach my 70’s. I keep it boxed in a cool closet in the dark to avoid breakdown. I also agree that the bottle is one of the most impressive and artistic that I have owned and I own MANY scents. I am leary of buying online because of the potential of spoilage and so if anyone has a well preserved bottle of EDP no toilet please, let me know. I would definitely be interested in purchasing.

    16. may 2013
Let me just start by saying simply: i have a lot of love for this perfume! And it happened by accident!
I have never heard of “Regine” and her perfumes in my life. Yes, i have stumbled upon them here on Fragrantica, but somehow neither the bottle nor the notes impresed me much to search for it. Then one day i was buying as usual in bulk and the seller had 100ml EDT (vintage!!) that has been on sale for a long time and nobody seemed to be interested in it, so i grabed it, because it was only 10 eur because i never seem to refuse on a good deal for a huge amount of perfume (now i know how lucky i am!). Didn´t expect nothing at all, i thought it would be some old fashioned pefume of not a very good quality, since the house is not famous and perfume seemed to be not very popular. I thought it was some kind of a drugstore perfume.
Oh, this happy moment when i unpacked my parcel and took out this huge bottle. Let me start by saying first,t hat the bottle is huge and in real life a very beautiful one. Honestly, i rarely admire bottles, but this one impresses me in a good way. The lid slides very smoothly up and down. That is very pleasant.
But the fragrance is simply amazing! I don´t know what happened to miniature, that user below reviewed, maybe it was refilled with something else or just gone off? My vintage juice is completly intact. And it is extremly gorgeous. I am very much surprised that the tuberose is not listed amongst the notes, i swear i can smell it in perfume. Either my nose is letting me down, or the notes are incorrect, however i checked their website and the notes listed there are the same). Very strange. Let me tell you one thing: i have a huge collection and i have a lot of heavy orientals and florals, i love florals, tuberose and i have many of those but this perfume is really perfect. The composition is very well balanced, it is sweet – yes, it is on the heavier side – yes, it has a bit of animalistic notes – yes, but all this is blended into a wonderful bouquet. It reminded me very much of another great perfume – “Moments” by P.Presley, almost the same feeling, but honestly “Regine´s” is way much better for me. Somehow it lacks that harsh tuberose and agressive animalistic note, that is present in “Moments” in EDP and yet it is more intense than EDT of “Moments”. Of course they are not the same completly, but they are definitly similar.
The longevity is brilliant, up to 24hrs for EDT and has also great sillage. I do believe that this perfume is not that much enjoyable in more humid climate than here up north, and is absolutly perfect for colder days, however just today when i wasn´t feeling well and wasn´t in a good mood i thought i will wear it again and it was almost 20degrees Celsius outside, so at first i was afraid it won´t work well but it did actually. But still i believe this is more suitable for autumn-winter-early spring time.
I also have a 15ml bottle of pure parfum, named “structure de parfum” and it has an amazing lasting power: just one dab beghind the ears lasts for 12 hrs and it is even more deeper version of the fragrance in EDT. The juice is really the same, but more intense, more lush, a-m-a-z-i-n-g! I am really lucky to being able to experience this beauty.
P.S. This fragrance is not discontinued, it is featured on their official web-site and even on ” cheap smells” website (you know which one, right). Most probably it has been reformulated, maybe even ruined, i don´t know. All i know is this perfect creation is a true gem in my collection.
UPDATE: (11.september 2013) Based on the few reviews on here i guess this gem isn´ twell known or just too outdated for the main public, but i keep on enjoying this perfume very much. You know, just recently i purchased another bottle of Cartier´s “Panthere” in vintage parfum de toilette formula and the smell of vintage Panthere somehow reminds me of Regine´s as well. the drydown has a lot in common. Regine ´s however is cheaper and much softer. I also get compliments for my choice of this perfume and that means people like it. Heavy floral oriental lovers should defenitly at least try this one.
