Description
Red Door is a popular fragrance by Elizabeth Arden, launched in 1989. Its oriental floral composition was created by perfumer Claire Cain. The official notes of this edition announce a floral opening (lily of the valley, freesia and wild violet), an opulent floral heart (red rose Moroccan orange blossom and ylang-ylang), on a fine base of honey, oak moss and sandalwood.
The same, unchanged fragrance is available in a limited red flacon shaped like a glass block with elegant frames and dents that clearly indicate the name – Red Door. Limited edition Red Door was created in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Elizabeth Arden house and is available as 50 ml EDP. Besides the flacon with perfume water, red flacon with eau de toilette was also presented. It is crowned with a golden stopper with engraved name of the brand. Its accompanying assortment offers luxurious perfumed body cream, perfumed shower gel and perfumed body powder.
Besides the beautiful jubilant flacons and the accompanying products, Elizabeth Arden presents luxurious body set that includes 100 ml EDT, luxurious body cream and perfumed body powder. The set also includes miniature Red Door. Red Door Limited Edition was launched in 2011.

One of the most beautiful linden flowers smell (even they are not listed). Classy, rosy, sweet and powdery for an adult woman, with a great longevity and sillage for an EDT. The scent that made someone fall in love with the woman who wore this essence ( me 😀 ) without knowing her, just feeling the smell in the crowd.
Miss.mixee – :
To me this is a floral chypre, one of the most beautiful I have ever smelled. All these flowers develop wonderfully on my skin on a light sweetly oakmossy base. Much style behind the red door
Artem.09 – :
This is nice, but a bit dated. The opening is intensely white floral, with big sillage. Later, it turns very powdery and a bit soapy. That is the part that i don’t really like. After 3 hours or so, i get a sweet smell, but the powder is still there. If it weren‘t so powdery, it would smell more modern.
Anyway, it is a quality fragrance and if you like powdery white florals, a safe blind buy.
sweetmomLesya – :
This was introduced, when I asked “something a little bit more classical”. I loved it right away.
Fine strong lovely flowery perfume. Heavy it is – very heavy EdT.
A simplisity… but not far from perfect. In small dose the perfume is very fine and beautiful.
I don’t know if I have the “Limited Edition” or just a normal Red Door. My bottle looks like this one that we are looking at now. May be just the normal RD after all…
neludmila – :
I cant get enough of this one lately…
It’s GOooood…
I have both the old and the new Red Door, I just love this new one much more, I get the honey sweetness in this one, and its more radiant.
Uplifting when I feel flat.
Good sillage too!
KumAsyA – :
I agree with Fabianabruna review down here…this is D&G red cap style! It´s for me a wonderful mist of flowery aldehydes with a soapy honey lush …
I smelled it today and it´s soooo chic, adult, noble, classy and assertive. But this is the scent of:”love or hate me”. As a result, I would never wear it in the Office, for example; this can ruin a Meeting.
But I would easily wear it during a cold autumn/winter day, or in a fancy dinner or formal evening occasion, completed dressy, with jewels and with a super make.
If you love D&G red cap style, and you can´t find it anymore, go for this Beauty; it´s the same vibe.
For my taste, this is better, more modern and wearable than the 1rst Version, keeping ist DNA.
Super perfume Arden…Congrats!

I got this and a little left of the old Red Door wth the Dome plastic lid. I had tried them side by side, one on each wrist.
The old one is creamier, this new one is more sparkly.
I find them both to have big sillage and good longevity.
I only spray couple of times and can wear this comfortably at the office with no complaints,
I said this is the beer income version of Dior Poison which I love and only wear on special occasions.
White Diamonds is different again, they are both by Carlos Benaim, so there is a similarity, but definitely not the same perfume. I have White Diamonds too, Its lush, creamy, white flowers, soapy and brighter.
They are both lovely to wear.
There is a lot of honey in Red Door current version, I love it!
garret-shade – :
Wow, this is Red Door???? Okay, then!!! Could have fooled me!! First off, this is crazy-light, this is sweet and fruity (yes, I am picking up fruity, despite the notes). Nothing at all like the Red Door I remember. Floral-wise, I pick up the white floral, and no rose at all. Had I NOT been expecting (at least some of) the punch and power of the Red Door that I remember, or some version close to it, I might be satisfied. But this is just a light, sweet, fruity fragrance with barely any white floral. Red Door, where are you…?
I guess I can see why they decided to go with a very lightened up, sweetened up (EDT) version of this, this is certainly more crowd-friendly and “safe”….But to me, Red Door was a warm scent, and to me, this one is like a cold scent. Again, not bad, if you were not familiar with the original Red Door, you may be none the wiser. But if you are hoping for some of the same DNA of the original Red Door, you may be left bewildered with this one, as am I….Again, not a bad scent in and of itself, just no resemblance whatsoever to the original Red Door. I get the whole “flanker” idea/notion, but this is an EDT, not just a “flanker”….it should bear some resemblance to it’s original namesake….This also does not have anywhere near the longevity as the original Red Door…..about 2 to 3 hours before this becomes a skin scent….The original Red Door lasted hours and hours and hours, like the Energizer Bunny…and often would even faintly smell it on my skin even after a shower. Sadly, this is just to me Elizabeth Arden (Revlon now) trying to appeal more to the masses, thus $elling more perfumes$….
Gavrosh – :
In red door limited edition it’s all about red roses and flowers nothing interesting.its a sweet scent but i will not buy again.for it’s sillage and longevity it is average for an every day perfume.
Milkizzzzz – :
Not bad at all, but too strong and overpowering. Very intensive honey and ylang-ylang note. I guess it would be nice for winter. With an oldschool twist, if you are looking for a great silage and longevity, try it.
evgen-76 – :
Roses all DE way, can be cloying sometimes. Delivers in terms of sillage and longivity. It’s an amazing fragrance love! Love! Love it
blackjack3566 – :
This perfume is a strong one.. The sillage and longevity is enormous. But some will love it or some will hate it!.. I recieve a compliment and also a disappointment to this perfume. Some says its smells so elegant but some says its smells like a horrible honey with a strong plastic scents.. One of my friend says i smells like formaline that it makes me embarassed a little lol.? But other says.. Its mature and sexy. I love and hate it. It has a lot of weird scents specially tht strong plastic smell.. So everytime i wear it. I use another perfume to kill tht plastic scents.. Sometimes it makes me dizzy and headache. Its similar to the red door original with a plastic scents.. I prefer to use red door original than this.. What i love in this perfume is the bottle. Tht red dorr shape with a golden lid!! So i recommend this one to a mature woman who can handle a strong scents.

Freesia,rose,Jasmine,honey and oakmoss undertone.
Red door opens you into another world of fragrance. Loved by young and old,and I am a young 44 year old, this lingering scent gets compliments from my husband, the trail in the air is enveloping, it wafts femininity and ultra class.
Great all year round, but wonderful for a romantic soirée with your partner. I actually find it comforting,it is a real snuggler of a fragrance, but just use it lightly,a spray in the air one on the décollette and it lingers for hours I kid you not! Projection is strong, people notice you,if you want to be noticed for the floral honey and mossy tones this is the fragrance you need.
Red door is always forgotten but once re visited you get that aaaah feeling….beautiful!!
PHACelebrex – :
I love Red Door Limited Edition 🙂 the bright red bottle with its intricate design, the gold stopper which holds the perfume securely and the scent – it’s so sophisticated, mature and luxurious. I think this is what a successful woman should smell like. I love Elizabeth Arden fragrances because they make me feel beautiful. I own 5th Avenue, Green Tea, Arden Beauty, and now, I just recently purchased the limited edition of Red Door. A little bit over my budget but its worth it.
Kelevra084 – :
I will keep this for the drydown and flacon appearance. Initial moment from first spray is a beautiful red rose that’s almost candied with red berries, perhaps the freesia. Also, the honey is so real. After 30 seconds the oak moss takes over for 2 hours. It stays the strongest notes for me for this stage. Interesting how it’s release was not many years ago, yet, this oak moss feels vintage. I have/had several vintages in my time. This oak moss is reminiscent of 1980’s style. It gives this perfume the heavy sillage it has until drydown. I’m suprised it is voted down so low on the votes according to members above.
After the drydown frees itself from the heavy oak moss,it gives way to a hint of old school pancake pressed powder, ylang and honeyed rose. Not as much freesia. It becomes a good and light drydown on skin despite the intense sillage upon the first few hours. Sprayed on clohing is another story. My laundry hamper permeated of heavy oak moss for over a week due to a blouse lying within it.
Do take the warnings seriously to spray lightly. The first time i sprayed this, i applied behind neck, the elbow-pulse points and my bust. Talk about headache that day! It’s times like that which have led me sticking to summer aquatics for enough days until i recover from olfactory overload. Like trying to hit a reset button.
Utikastykip – :
My mom wore this in the 90s and I’d occasionally steal a couple of spritzes, as it was a big departure from Estee Lauder’s Pleasures, which I wore at the time. I recently received a bottle as a gift from my children and it’s just not the same as I remember, although time has a way of doing that.
The perfume smells very sweet and almost grape-soda like to me. I like the smell and I spritz it in the air as room freshener but I’ll have to let the scent mature some and see if I can grow into it. Too fruity for me right now.
SlavaBondarenko – :
This fragrance was launched in the year that I was born, so whenever I use it now I remember my childhood years and that is probably cause a lot of adults were wearing this around me when I was a kid. It is such a comforting and nostalgic scent, the warmth of the honey and the power of the rose. Exceptionally beautiful, powerful and longlasting. Will forever stay in my memory.
xss253Diobtetty – :
A mature fragrance but absolutely beautiful!
This is probably a lighter and less complicated version of the EDP of the original Red Door. I tested that one 3 years ago and could not stand it. Too much for me at that time. Now I have transitioned to florals but I’m still taking it one step at a time. This perfume is a honeyed floral in the vein of such fragrances as Elie Saab. The honey note is fantastic! It smells like bees picking up honey from the flowers in this perfume!
Rose is the dominant floral note and it’s red, velvety and romantic. But she is not alone. Jasmine is also there, showy and silken, and accompanied by white floral scents of freesia and lily. I think there’s an ylang and violet as well. Beautifully floral with sweet syrupy honey.
The dry down is a bit of moss and musk, warm, and powdery at the same time. This smells so elegant and so beautiful that it’s like going from GAP to Prada. This is a perfume of luxury, glamour, sophistication, and graceful womanly manners. This makes me want to sit up straight in a chair, speak very little and do a lot of listening, to smell the flowers and to drink tea. It’s not old lady ish but it is for grown ups. I can see this perfume on newly weds and mothers.
Beautiful
Рошах – :
This was is and always will be my luxurious evening cologne for what my daughter – when she was a talkative 5 year old – used to call “fancy lady night”. I only wore this on romantic dinners and getaways with my husband Scott. He loves this fragrance on me. It’s a special occasion perfume and can hardly be called a casual or ordinary perfume. I picked this up at Macy’s the first time they launched it and yes it’s still selling at Macy’s as far as I know. This is perfume with a capital P. At the first spritz of Red Door, there is a scent of a distinct violet and lily of the valley, as a floral whisper. Sweetly floral, sweetly floral. There’s freesia and what I believed was a carnation. Then there’s lots of red roses, so many of them in fact that it takes over the fragrance. These are velvet English roses, dark, perfumy, elegant, like roses that I’ve seen on display in the Rose Parade in Anaheim California every New Years Day. This is a dreamy, absolutely beautiful red rose perfume. If you like red roses, check this out. The fragrance dries down softly into a sweet honey. I consider this perfume to be romantic and womanly. It’s long lasting and throws out such an intoxicating aroma. My husband always wants to hold me close and smell my neck and ears when I put on this perfume. I have the luxurious gift set that comes equipped with the perfume Eau de Parfum spray, a miniature dab-on bottle, the body lotion and the body powder. The body lotion smells pretty lackluster and it’s a faint rose scent but when you wear it with the perfume fresh out of the shower this turns into an amazing honeyd rose with a bit of powder. The body powder also smells really good and hardly old lady ish. I recommend the gift set so that you can better appreciate the fragrance and it’s many facets. Beautiful!

Fragrance Review For Red Door Limited (Anniversary) Edition By Elizabeth Arden
Top Notes
Lily of the Valley Freesia Violet
Middle Notes
Rose Jasmine Ylang Ylang African Orange Flower
Base Notes
Honey Sandalwood Oakmoss
First of all I’d like to start this review by stating that this is NOT a limited edition, it is the official Anniversary Edition, which has never been discontinued and is a top seller at the Elizabeth Arden section of any Macy’s perfume department. I walked into Macy’s today to buy some fragrances with my mother. We both bond over perfume. She adores the original Red Door and had never experienced this new formula. The bottle is shaped like a red door which is very attractive as a dresser table perfume. It always made me want to go inside that red door and discover the pleasure and joys of womanhood which lay ahead on the other side.
This is exactly what this fragrance is like for me. It’s a doorway to adulthood. It smells like you’ve just arrived into the big leagues, and have entered into high society. Such a feeling would not have been lost on Elizabeth Arden herself, a poor Canadian girl who made it big at the turn of the century when she opened her boutique on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. She became one of the biggest business moguls of the 1900’s and 1920’s with her signature red door salon which sold beauty products: make up, body powder, skin care and fragrance. Blue Grass was her first perfume and for years throughout the 20th century she became a major fragrance line to rival other entrepreneurs like Estee Lauder and Revlon.
Red Door’s newest formula is a beautifully romantic floral bouquet. The flowers are front and center. A rose of the same color as the Red Door blooms in the heart of the fragrance, warmed up with honey and balsam. The rose is accompanied by floral notes of jasmine, but she is not a showy jasmine, and with a more extroverted ylang and African orange flower (similar to orange blossom). Right away, the ylang and orange flower mix and mingle with the honey. It’s clearly honey but it’s so full and viscous that it can almost pass for amber or a balsamic oil. It’s fragrant with a sandalwood as well. This is coming off as an Oriental.
I would not call this a fruit scented fragrance in the least. This is strictly floral. It’s flowers for days. The rose is a romantic rose, quite like a Valentine’s Day bouquet of red roses. The honey note is delectable, but not on the gourmand side, more of an Oriental dark honey or myrrh. This is a dark perfume, velvety, rich, even exotic. The red color and packaging matches up with the scent, whose color is indeed a scarlet. The mood it creates is romantic but mature and even a tad aggressive; a perfume on the dresser table of a seductress who is older but has younger lovers and who has money to burn. Mrs. Robinson. This is not as glamorous as White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor, nor even Elizabeth Arden’s own 5th Avenue perfume, but it is very intoxicating and inviting.
Longevity is spectacular. It’s a long lasting fragrance to wear all day and all night. I think it’s flexible enough as a fragrance to wear both day or night but it is formal and not casual. This matches up with a very beautiful elegant dress, evening gown or cocktail dress. It’s a perfume to wear on a romantic date or night out with your significant other. I would indeed classify it as as mature woman’s perfume, and it seems to be tailor made for happily married women. As it is an anniversary edition I think of it as a perfume to wear at a wedding anniversary.
This is not a sweet single girl who smells of raspberry candy or gourmand scents of cotton candy or vanilla cream. It’s a woman who smells of honeyed flowers, who is bold as the lady in red. She is married but her husband never fails to fall for her charms, even after years of being with the same woman.
And I can live happily with this same perfume for years and years.
Thank You Elizabeth Arden for allowing me through your Red Door.
Assassino131 – :
Mistake even a penny paid for this…. very disappointing smell (cannot name it as scent)
pav – :
Growing up as a teen in the 90’s this is THE ultimate glamor of fragrance (OK, maybe along with Giorgio’s Red, which my much older blond, buxom and tanned house mate used to wear). I used to wander gleaming department stores thinking when I’d be mature/elegant/glamorous enough to wear it… Fast forward almost 20 years later, I finally got myself a 100ml bottle… Yes, why 20 years later? I know the old adage of not judging a book by its cover but the old packaging with the red semicircle cap always put me off. This new bottle is sleek, red, really red and the scent is just as potent, just two or three sprays will do. I could finally channel the likes of Arden’s spokespersons Vendela Kirsebom or Amber Valleta whom I used to admire in the pages of glossies, and this time I could finally be wearing it with red, with black satin gown and diamonds, pearls, the heels… the works!
dosikus – :
I often do not go through the Red Door. Indeed, one spray is plenty. Also understandable how Red Door has mixed reviews like Truth or Dare. Both are not gentle perfumes. This isn’t a daily wear to me. Bold fumes are always in my cup of tea. Noticed that it is important to have many types of tea to fill my cup because any one of them I cannot really wear on a daily basis. They need to rotate. Always power, well sometimes a bit easy fragrance, but not ever just one Authoritarian. Today is a Red Door day. She is affordable and offers quite a nice structure and notes selection. An oriental floral with some bite. I like her. She is like family. Just know to take her in small doses. That way, when she is worn, it is very much an enjoyable experience.
ира7483 – :
It’s ok/good but I understand how it doesn’t suit everyone. I felt it was a bit spicy… And powdery. If you want to wear it often, one spray is enough.
oll63 – :
I like this reformulation. The soapy clean quality reminds me of the soaps from the Indian Cash and Carry store that I go crazy with.
zliden86 – :
I can’t remember why I always avoided this one, maybe it was worn by too many people at the time. Maybe I was just too in love with YSL Opium to give anything else a chance.
Fast forward to 2012/13 when my sister gave me a gift set for my birthday which I kept for sentimental reasons. I opened it and tried it. Immediately recognisable as RD even though it was my first time smelling it from a bottle. Maybe I knew someone previously who wore it.
I liked it, it smells like proper perfume, sweet, floral and inviting. Larger than life even.
I wear it occasionally to bed for myself to enjoy and sometimes I find myself yearning for it and wanting to wear it. I haven’t worn it in public yet, which is unusual for me as I don’t worry about what others think. It’s that potent. Even in this new reformulation it is huge and certainly not for little girls. This lady is all woman and is certainly fit to be a signature scent. A classic. This could be one I grow to love.
максим123123 – :
It starts out with some sweet florals. Settles in and ends with pure honey. Sweeter than honey dare I say. Lasts 3-4 hours.
Mesoi505JeomiWogkig – :
Despite calling this ‘Limited Edition’, it’s pretty obvious by now that this is the new Red Door.
It does smell like the original in the bottle. There is no doubt that this is Red Door, and could be mistaken for none other. BUT.
Due to its reformulation, my mother gave me the 100ml bottle of the new Red Door, which was more than half full, because the loss in longevity and sillage on her disappointed her to the point she’s searching for a new signature scent.
And so, here I am with the new Red Door, and I am totally satisfied with how it smells on me.
The old Red Door for some reason, seemed to die and rot the moment it hit my skin, turning it into a car air freshener that was as weak as water, where it was so potent on my mother it was like a whole other entity. THAT was what I loved about it. On her. I wanted what she had, because it was divine, strong, and powerful, like my mother.
But on my skin, the new Red Door blooms into everything strong, honeyed, rosy, woody and thick that I loved about the original on my mother, but couldn’t achieve on myself. With reformulation, our roles have reversed. A Red Door will always have a place in my collection now.
Nikolasha – :
Oh, Red Door!
My dear, sweet love.
Thank god i found you now lighter and wearable.
Welcome into my life again.
Won’t let you go never ever again.
I have 30ml already, but i also bought a biggest bottle there is.
АВРОРА – :
I simply love this perfume. Sezy and classic, very elegant and it make a statement “I’ve arrived”. But a little spritz goes a long way and it’s very long lasting. It’s floral sroma gives away the sexyness within and feminality but you feel the woody scent just behind it to give it an elegant classic boost. Recommendnit fo those you like smoothly woody perfumes but with a floral taste to it.
akai1989 – :
Here is a perfume with many seasonal faces. The first half hour, my husband says it reminds him of a Christmas candle. I totally get that. You know, those red candles that smell slightly of sweet cinnamon and pine. So most people associate that with wintertime. After that half hour, the middle becomes a bouquet of blooming roses which most would think spring. I’m not sure how this would smell in the summer, but fall would be a good time to wear this too since it reminds me slightly of the cinnamon in apple cider. I do smell the honey but more so upon the first few minutes of spraying.
I’m not sure what the original smells like but I think a very long time ago, I dismissed it before my perfume loving days for whatever reasons. I can’t compare this reformulation, but I like it. As many have advised, spray lightly, especially if you’re daring enough to wear it to the office. I have seen lots of comments mentioning this to be an old school perfume. I wouldn’t say it like that. I would say it’s not for a nose that hasn’t been too open to experience varieties.
yakov-matashev – :
omg! that’s one of the sexiest perfumes ever…
it kinda reminds me of Amarige Givenchy, and Giordani Gold by Oriflame (first vintage version)
nerkam – :
Just not the same as the old bottle (original juice). I feel this one is slightly sweeter and missing the ylang-ylang tangy sweetness and powdery honey. I just don’t want to wear this one, I am tracking down all of the old bottles whilst I still can!
gio325 – :
This perfume is very nice. I really enjoy the powdery note that stands out most on me. This fragrance has a very comferting scent but sexy at the same time. I like how it smells and mixes with my chemistry. Good jod Elizabeth!!!!!!
Tefisiori – :
Is it only me, or anyone else felt DG for her red cap?!
Its a little more more of an “old” fragrance but its very interesting if you like that kind of vintage smell!
demonnoid – :
Very disappointed. I love Red Door but I wanted my refill in the new bottle. Big mistake.
katinazis – :
Been in love with this perfume since it came out in 1989. Became so known for wearing it, that each year at Christmas and my birthday, I received a bottle.
It’s just beautiful.
As fas as the reformulation goes, it is there. It’s the same perfume, but some of the “punch” is missing. What it is, instead, at least on me, is a “powdery” element, where there was just plain “attitude” before!
But it’s not enough to turn me off of it.
I don’t always wear it now, I became a real Chanel fan in recent years, but I always keep a few, small bottles of the edp around. So this afternoon, for old times sake, I put EXACTLY THREE drops on. One on each wrist and one at the throat and I’ve been smelling beautiful, ever since. I applied the perfume at about 3:30pm, and it is now about 5:00am, and it’s faint, but very much there.
Th other reviewers are right. This perfume is a masterpiece of a beauty, but you can’t use a heavy hand. Very little goes a long way.
Classic and gorgeous.
harius181 – :
I had almost forgot just how beautiful this floral fragrance is until the reformulated version came out this year. I was delighted to see Red Door being promoted again, & had to try it for old times sake (I often bought the original for my mom). This version is very similar to the original (thank goodness), & just as beautiful, bold, & in your face with attitude. As gorgeous as it is, the silage can be intense, so a light hand should be used when applying. Longevity is amazing, I tried just a few drops on my hand & it lasted all day. This scent can be ruined when over applied, so I cannot stress it enough to only use a small amount in order to truly enjoy this beauty.
bosvasilij – :
My mom have this. Its been 5 years my mom kept using it. This frag is for a sensual women 30yrs and above, it’s not for the younger generation. The floral and oriental notes are balanced making it great, rose was noticeable.
chatvcems – :
I wore the first bottles when it was launched around 89,all my school teachers and a lot of colleagues talked about how I smelled then, one male teacher asked for its name. This new bottle(edt) smells nice and kind of closer to the first bottles. This new shape bottle has a new nicer formula. Top note has changed a little ,for 5 minutes only I smelled masculine aquatic note, but when it’s gone completely after 15mnts the real RedDoor arrived plus my teenage memory(: The old bottle is a master piece and I want it back. The golden stopper of the edt is adorable in the new bottle. One of greatest scents out there, love love love it.
Edit: very long lasting,in an Estée Lauder way.
egorov1979 – :
Looove this is my signature flowery goergous. I need to buy the edp !
Grinigor – :
The opening is acrid and screechy, very sour and not at all pleasant. But there’s a hint of powdery sweetness lurking, one that I found myself hoping to experience more of.
A little bit of patience pays off with Red Door! After about 15 minutes, the acrid notes calm and blend, and a sweet, powdery soft, intensely floral scent emerges. Red Door is deep, but not dark, and very sophisticated. It’s classic, and when I smell it after about 2 hours, I think “This smells like perfume.” (in a good way!)
Longevity isn’t bad, silage is quite good, and the price (if you get it at a discount retailer) is unbeatable. I’m not in love, but I like it very much. Red Door is worth a try.
ashotik – :
All i can smell is Yland -Ylang. And i hate perfumes with it. 🙁 but it’s less cloying than the original red door.
wregrarvedund – :
I love this. I used to wear it in my late 20’s/early 30’s. I got compliments all the time, especially from men. Then one day my boyfriend gets into the car (im thinkin im looking good, smellin sexy….) and says “you smell like my grandma”. Oh hell, well, there goes that haha. Come to find out, i DID smell like his grandma. Its her signature lol. I still have a small bottle, but it’s in the back of the drawer 🙁
RoorieMer – :
This smells pretty much like guerlain insolence which i prefer more than Red door.
alsu.sobaka – :
i dont like it 1stly, but my hubby love it so much when im wearing this perfume at night…. 😉
ProPoster82 – :
I think you either love this stuff or you hate it. I personally love it! It’s very sexy and unique in my opinion. But I do admit it is VERY powerful and you only need a tiny bit or else you may get a headache.
zlfed – :
am wearing it now .. and i must say my first impression was horrible, but later on am beginning to like the much calmer and softer scent its giving out… definitely a good buy.
bleheris – :
sniff it on the dept.store, first impression was way too strong and little bit like cat pee because the sales girl sprayed it twice on a paper. but my mind keep telling me to keep it! you will be back to sniff it again ! and I kept it on my Bag. 2 days after I opened my bag and found this strip paper of Red Door and it’s smell amazingly classic just like shopisticated women on night social gathering with her backless black dress, simple balerina updo, gold earring, red lipstick, thick eyelashes, daring smile and a glass of champagne on her hand and welcoming every guests with her top class manners. could be Madonna, Jennifer Lawrence, Cher, Diane Lane, Eva Longoria, Cheryl Cole, Penelope Cruz, or even Anne Hathaway. so then I decide to buy it via online. sometimes some perfumes need to be very perfumey because the way it is. not a barely floral or fruity or boring vanilla cake. the shynthetic ingredient made it fabulous as natural ingredients gave natural scent, right? If you want everybody sniff behind your back, wear this, don’t be shy. it’s like aroma therapy that gives you a feeling like you have all that money to buy high end dresses and jeweleries from Chanel or Dior. Yes..smell like expensive product.
serega777d2008 – :
I connect this scent so strongly with my mother, who’s worn it for as long as I can remember. She was a singer, and used to wear this in the evenings. I remember her hugging me before going on stage, and enveloping me in the musky white floral scent.
For women uncertain if this is wearable at a younger age, my mum started wearing this in her late 20s, so go for it!
††††† – :
The smell reminds me of white diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor . This kind of perfume is meant to be for older ladies!!!!.
maximk2001 – :
Red Door Limited Edition by Elizabeth Arden is not a perfume a young woman like Vanessa would most likely find appealing. It is a little to grown up for ladies under thirty with young noses still enamored of the sweet and yummy smells of the recently abandoned teen years. That is of course unless they have a nose for something more sophisticated than the hot house fruity florals or candied confections that are all the rage these days. And how does a young woman expand her horizons in a world drowning in Floriantals and exploding cotton candy machines? As in our story sometimes a young lady needs the counsel of an older woman of the world, someone with experience who can open that Red Door of possibilities to a wider world of Yes.
I have wanted to try this perfume and see what it is all about for some time. I have smelled the “original” and found it to be interesting and lovely, so when I came across a 30mil bottle of Red Door Limited for twenty dollars I thought why not? I was very pleasantly surprised at what was in this little red bottle. This is a new take on the old classic, a tiny bit more modern without loosing the sophisticated allure of a really elegant perfume. It is a bouquet of red roses wrapped in rich creamy satin tied with a velvet ribbon.
It opens with a shimmery and sparking bell notes of lily of the valley. The lily is followed by a dash of peppery freesia blended into a purple tinged green haze of violets. This is an elegant and inviting opening of promises made in midnight misty gardens.
The promise made is sealed with a warm deep kiss of Roses whose petals are brushed ever so lightly with honey. Never too sweet the honey rises like burnished gold from the base notes to titillate and make hungry where most it satisfies as it falls from the rose petals to the notes below. African Orange flowers, Ylang-Ylang, and jasmine are the three sisters who benefit from the marriage of the rose and the honey.
