Description

In the second half of 2018, Rihanna launches her tenth perfume in cooperation with Parlux. The new Reb’l Fleur Love Always introduces a variation on the theme of her first perfume Reb’l Fleur from 2011.

Reb’l Fleur Love Always is announced as a rich, sexy and more refined version of the chypre-fruity original. The fragrance is made to portray the power, sexappeal and mystery that Rihanna exudes. The composition contains identical accords of the first version created by Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien, only it is said to be re-dosed, richer and intensified.

Rihanna Reb’l Fleur Love Always is available as a 30 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Well since I am so kookoo about Rebl Fleur as it is and my bottle is running kinda low, me seeing this version popping up, I just HAD TO – woah, this is something I have to give a go! Ordered tonight for a very decent price and cannot wait to get it, very excited!

All I’m going to say about this is that it’s a stronger, more intense version of the original. I will say the dry down is way creamier and smells a bit spicier.

Yeah, I cant believe its $60. I was really looking forward to this but im not ever paying that for a celebrity fragrance.

I skin tested both versions Reb’l Fleur and Reb’l Fleur Love Always on my arms and they turned out smelling up to 90-95% identical to each other. The 5-10% difference is that Love Always is a little bit smoother, fruitier and creamier (due to the fact that on my skin, Love Always performed with a tat STRONGER peach, plum and coconut, with a SOFTER patchouli and musk in the dry down. The whole composition was also a little “sweeter”!?!?). Love Always’s longevity also lasted a little longer and it sustained a “better” quality in scents. I do prefer the dry down of Love Always over the patchouli and musky dry down of Reb’l Fleur. It projected so much better too.
Overall, I think that the notes from both fragrances are pretty much the same but they are slightly different in ratios and order, giving them different perspectives. If you haven’t been introduced to this line at all, or sorta “had” issue with Reb’l Fleur before, I would say try this Love Always and skip the original Reb’l Fleur.
I really enjoyed Love Always. IMO, it is “better” than Reb’l Fleur. Just a “warning” with the purchase process though. I bought my bottle from FragranceNet.com at a much lower price compared to its original price tag. When I placed my order, even though the perfume was listed and sold as in “new condition”, it reached my destination with the cellophane wrap on the bottom of the box being “re-sealed” by clear tape. The bottle inside was still “full” when it was delivered to me, but I’m sure that it was a returned item from a retail store, and FragranceNet re-stocked and re-sold it at a more affordable price. Don’t take me wrong, the perfume bottle is legit and in great condition, and I’m happy that I got it for cheap. I just wanna give you guys a heads up with that website, that’s all.

Although i think i know what kind of marketing ploy Rihanna has goin on here; 1-make the original great
2-water it down and change bottle slightly so that everyone complains how much weaker it is now
3- Re release it but stronger and better so that everyone who was annoyed about the first reformation( me included) will repurchase at a higher price
    Well played Rihanna

A little sweeter than the original Reb’l Fleur, and a tad less musky.
As I wear and compare both, I actually prefer the Love Always version on my skin. I already loved the original, but the sweetness cutting through the heavier ingredients is a really nice touch.
But I gotta say that the looks are deceiving. Because of the smokiness of the bottle, I had assumed that the new one would be more dark, mysterious and smokey/woodsy/patchouli. But I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. Works for me 🙂

Since I am kookoo for the original Rebelle Fleur, I am very anxious to get my hands on this. And since I’m in Canada, I’m probably going to have to look hard for this, because we seem to be the last to get anything new, if at all. Sigh.
Edit – I just saw this on fragrancenet. I’ve never ordered from them before so I’m a bit nervous but since I can’t find it anywhere else and I want it badly I’m going to take the plunge. Plus they have Ted Lapidus Orissima which I also want badly and can’t find anywhere else so I’m excited. I heard from fellow fragranticians that fragrancenet is quite slow to deliver, I better get a move on before holiday rush.

I sampled “Love Always” today at the perfume part of our local beauty mart and I must say…it is very well done. This, quite frankly, is a stronger version of “Reb’l Fleur.” There are very assertive plum, coconut and red berry notes. I live in a tropical country and grew up smelling hibiscus, picking them and stripping them for integrated science class and I must say the hibiscus note is more of a phantasmal one than anything else. Hibiscus has a very faint smell and in most, I daresay there is no smell, hence why it does not show up in this scent.
Again, I say, this is an updated version of “Reb’l Fleur”
So if you don’t like this one you might not really appreciate “Love Always.” This one is more there…more full-bodied and slightly less caramelized. A very fruity and sexy perfume. The bottle is all black this time, a black high heel! Good for a night out dining. Quite good!
