I stumble onto Realm for Women over 20yrs ago… It was my fav of all time! I loved the smell and so did others – I could still smell it on me the next day. Price was so amazing I’d buy 6 bottles at a time ($7 each). Suddenly EDP Realm became unavailable, then EDT became hard to find, next almost nonexistent to costing $50-$100 when found. I wanted Realm so bad, I went to Fragrantica to find a replica. So far, nothing compares to the smell, sillage or longevity… I want my Realm EDP back!

Fragrance Review For Realm Women Erox
    Top Notes: Mandarin Orange Cassia
    Middle Notes: Peony Water Lily
    Base Notes: Honey Vanilla
This cheapie beauty was a pleasure to discover. I hadn’t expected it to be this good. It has notes in it that I love: cassia, water lily, honey and vanilla. I can see why others who have experienced it compare to frags like Bijan, Charlie Gold and Black Pearls. This is a beautiful, spicy honeyed floral fruited fragrance. It smells more luxurious than it’s affordable price. It smells like a warm summer night in Tahiti. It’s a light Oriental so in no way does this serve as an introduction to Oriental fragrances but it has an Oriental slant. There is a citrusy opening that I really enjoy. It’s a classic fresh citrus top note and it’s made even fruitier with the additional note of cassia/cassis which is a perfumy grape scent. It’s heart is floral with peony flower and water lily. The water lily is the dominant floral note. It’s aquatic and green scented, and for whatever reason it matches up with the cassis scent. It’s got a deliciousness that develops from floral to honey and vanilla. I also detected an amber. This amber gives it a warmth and balsamic quality but at the same time it’s subtle. The honey is stronger to my nose than the vanilla. It smells so good and it lasts just long enough for me at over 4 and a half hours. It’s a beautiful perfume and worthy of more purchases.

The smell isn’t one of my favorite. I feel nauseous while wearing it but it put me in a mellow mood. The dried down scent smells a little like blood. I realized the perfume comes out red so it may stain clothes.

This one is amazing! On me, it’s initially a spicy citrus with a touch of floral (like one of those orange pomander balls with cloves in them), and then after a while, it deepens to a soft, warm, spicy honey-vanilla combo. It reminds me of a slightly subtler Bijan, which I also love. 4 of 5 stars only because it’s not quite as long-lasting, but it works great with my body chemistry (fortunately, there aren’t many scents that I can’t wear). It’s also inexpensive; I got a 2-pack of the 1.7 ounce bottles for $12.99 at Burlington Coat Factory! If you like spicy, vanilla, or sweet scents, definitely give this a try. It’s also a great relaxer for me, perhaps because of the pheromones, and it’s not so strong that you couldn’t wear it to work. Because it’s a slightly heavier scent, though, I’d wear it in the fall or winter.

I wish I could smell this. I put it on and smell something very light for like 2 minutes, and then I smell nothing at all.

I liked this. I didn’t love it. It smelled like a standard oriental and then faded into a lovely honey vanilla skin scent. I used to work in a preschool and the children loved this. Men didn’t seem to care so much. This is pretty strong as well. One spray will last you all day.

I have had this perfume for quite awhile now… like 3-4 years… and I wasnt exactly impressed- i thought it was too strong for my taste (though my bf at the time- now my hubby- said he loved it.) But I decided to try it again… and I think it has grown on me (maybe im just a little more mature? lol) I am usually drawn to very sweet smells, gourmand, or light aquatics, but this is a nice night time scent for me. I have a hard time imagining wearing this in the florida heat, especially during the day, but I think this may become a regular part of my date night and cold weather arsenal. 😉
Immediately hit with a strong and spicy floral note, then it cools down a little to a sweet (honey/vanilla) slightly spicy floral…. why did it take me so long to try this one out again?

I’ve had my bottle of Realm for several years now and have rarely used it. It’s always been….”nice” but nothing that I ever craved. I’ve always thought it was a bit on the too-sweet side as well and I’d have to be in the right mood to wear it. It’s officially fall now and for whatever reason, I reached for my bottle today. Maybe the issue was that I was trying to wear this when the weather was too warm…it came off as too syrupy sweet. In a bit cooler weather, Realm…on me anyway…is a tantalizing, beeswax and honey concoction, laced with cinnamon and clove and delicate flowers. There’s something “balmy” and almost medicinal about it.Reminds me of venturing through the TCM aisle of an Asian grocery store. Realm is my new (old) friend.
Update: The drydown is worth the wait on this one. If the SUPER sweet opening scares you off…..just hold on!

To me, this a more toned down version of Charlie Gold. I can smell vanilla and honey, but I can also smell cinnamon in here too! I like it, but I love it when I layered it with Jeanne Arthes Sultane!! It made it last longer too! All in all it is nice, but it doesn’t last long. This is harmless and nice for everyday wear.

Blind buy based on reviews here- first sniff was so-so, nothing striking stood out, today I decided to give it a try: UGH this is the first scent I had to wash off my arms! Even my husband said “fail” as I walked by him. and He enjoys my foray into the world of fragrance….. I could not wait for the scent to develop- it was that toxic. may be my chemistry, I sure wanted to try it. lesson learned.

This is one of those perfumes that smell more expensive than it is & I’m glad I found it. It is somewhat sweet but definitely not a gourmand . As another reviewer mentioned, Realm doesn’t change much so what you smell in the beginning is what you get. As far as smell goes it reminds me of Mandarin Orange Spice tea somewhat but with less spice & some honey. Despite it’s supposed pheromones this is actually a fairly innocent smelling scent but not at all immature or girly. The longevity is very poor but because it’s so cheap that’s not really a issue for me.

This smells like LANCOME TRESOR to my nose also like Ange ou Demon Givenchy. In LT share most of the same notes n i think the peach in LT = the honey orange in Realm. Very fruity honey n too sweet for my taste. Doesn’t work on my olive complexion perhaps. Not what I am into but a lot of ppl love Tresor! Swapped mine out already.

When I worked at a perfumeria, I recall the time when we were being told the lore of this fragrance being one of the first fragrances to have successfully created synthetic human pheromones. I remember having so fun with it by talking about it with some my co-workers. I would find the least attractive man and spritzed him with the male perfume…then I would lean over to smell him and I’d make my chest expand just so the top buttons of my shirt would pop open then act like if I felt this unexplained wave of lust come over me and rubbed his chest.
All laughs and parlour tricks aside, we decided to take on the challenge of its claims that it was the new Love Potion and each put the respective Realm fragrances according to our genders on, then waited to see what feedback we’d have by end of day. Well, well wouldn’t you know it…my co-workers redirected inquiring tourists to my counter and it sure would SELL. When I would mention about the human pheromones, people were ooo’ing and ahh’ing and liked the idea of something so scientific and novel in a fragrance.
Quite frankly, I felt it was just hype. It still doesn’t mean the fragrance was unpleasant, as a matter of fact, far from it imo. It did have a sort of happy, tropical, fruity but delicate scent that wasn’t offensive nor overwhelming. I liked it but wasn’t crazy about it, myself. But, if you like a perfume with a nice mix of honey, vanilla, fruit and florals with a pinch of spice that you can wear day or night, it is worth a try.

This was an interesting fragrance back in time. I owned several samples and I still have one left. Of course, I was attracted by the pheromones story! I was very Young and wanted to feel more attractive.
To be honest the scent had some mood improvement for me, but I cannot really say if it worked on other people.
The perfume itself smells quite cheap but not bad at all. I especially smell the mandarin in the opening, then White flowers and some vanillic amber-like basenotes. Quite pleasant, linear, warm, unpretentious and feminine. It had very longlasting power. I don’t know if they still sell the same stuff. Not here anyway, never seen it anymore. Why? It’s a little nice perfume and notoverpowering if not overapplied.
    The bottle is awful.

I am a Realm perfume user because it smells delicious and sweet. My first encounter with Realm was when I sold Perfume at a major retail store. There are other scents out there that incorporate pheromones but this one on me smells the best. I hope it is never discontinued. A tip I learned from my gal pals that sold Perfume with me, be very careful about the soap that you shower or bath with, it can cause a fragrance to turn bad quite fast. Use a mild bar soap or body wash to ensure that your perfume will stay the same as when you first spray it on. I comment this only due to everything I read in a negative light about Realm. Please remember that Perfume does spoil, the
lifetime of a perfume once opened is between 2 – 5 years. This is a magical combination of orange/sweet n honey/vanilla that unfolds beautifully on me each and every time worn. People smile and I get positive compliments!

Initially, the scent goes on like a strong aldehyde with notes of citrus and sweetness of honey and vanilla. BUT that disappears quickly and soon after arrives some scent that is awful. It ends up smelling like pure musky/civet dirty underwear stench. Horrible. Anyone want it?

This was a blind buy for me and I’m loving it. It is the most honey scented perfume I own and I love that about it. I do detect some vanilla too perhaps and maybe some orange? On me I don’t get much spiciness but maybe that is just my chemistry. I tend to not like spicy scents anyways. I think this is going to be one I use quite a bit. I can’t believe this isn’t more popular. I agree that it does smell as good as some expensive perfumes. I like my perfumes to be noticeable so I’m hoping this one will be. It’s not overpowering so far, so I’m hoping it will be strong enough to be noticed by others. I’m super glad I bought this. Anyone who likes a honey scent or a vanilla scent should try this one. It’s a snuggly, warm, sexy scent to me. I don’t see myself tiring of this one either.
Update: I ended up not using this perfume much. It just smelled rather 80s or 90s to me, which sometimes I love, but I guess not in this particular case. For me it is sort has such a perfumey smell. It dos have good longevity though.

Sorceressofthedark, great review! I just wanted to add that this fragrance is high quality, and can hold its own next to more expensive brands. Smells like $50, costs $15. Love it!

Realm fills my space with fumes of honey, a rich, pure, sweet honey that drips down me, enveloping me in a deep aroma, tempered by its sweet mandarin orange note. I am at heaven’s door with this perfume. It is a glorious, uplifting scent that goes on through sleeping and the next day. Realm stays pretty much the same flavor except for adding a vanilla touch that is rich and mature. I absolutely love that it’s natural smelling and not a synthetic version. This is what a warm, vanilla should smell like. One that is heated by the body and natural. It lies underneath the honey to wrap you in a very comfortable blanket. You just feel good wearing this. I also detect a cinnamon in it which is pure. Realm is a fragrance to make you want to pull out your favorite movie and curl up, or go out and relax while shopping or just doing your favorites. It just seems to put a smile on your face and lifts your spirits. The box also says it’s never tested on animals so kudos to the company. This is one that is season-less and the wearers choice in when and where to wear. A little does go a long way as it seems to magnify as the day goes on, so be careful the first time you spritz. As far as the pheromones, who knows? I can’t answer that. But I do know that Realm is quite the hidden gem.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

I don’t know about pheromones in perfume, and no men were throwing themselves at me at the grocery store when I wore this, but it is an enjoyable scent.
Erox Realm is a sweet vanilla, with a touch of powder; for a few minutes in the beginning it had some peppery-spice to it, but then just vanilla. The sweetness must be the honey, and there is a bit of depth and animality that only comes with honey. It stayed a fairly constant scent throughout, after it settled from the initial blast. But it waxed and waned oddly in projection–after the first hour, I thought it was fading into a skin scent, and then from about 3-7 hours it smelled quite powerfully (although this is really not a sillage monster at all). I thought this increase in projection as it aged on my skin was unique, but maybe I’m easily amused.
Overall, I found Realm to be a mild, pleasant vanilla; inoffensive and unassuming, something to wear to the office or out shopping when you want to smell nice and feminine. A note about the bottle: it’s like a huge red glacier, extremely solid feeling with angled edges, but with a cheezy gold cap that kind of ruins the effect.

Going back and looking at the notes here. I wore it many years ago. You could knock me over with a feather…I thought this was absolutely warm. Would have never guessed all the sweet in it whatsoever. In fact it was my winter “spicy turtleneck” smell in a lot of my college years. This and Raffinee. Whaddya know…..

I picked this up fairly inexpensively on Amazon and I’ve been giving it a test run for a few weeks now. I wasn’t expecting much as far as the scent goes but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It smells like a very melodic floriental on me, with a touch of citrus, and as a previous reviewer stated, I also detect cloves in it to start. Nothing too overpowering or headache-inducing.
I finally started wearing it out of my house recently and I’ve received some rather enthusiastic compliments on how good I smell from strangers. The last fragrance I wore where I received random compliments like this was Liz Claiborne’s Vivid, so I think I might go ahead and make this my new signature.

TRY THIS BEFORE BUYING… it smells BAD and HORRIFYING …yuk yuk..it was hard to get it off.. Scrubbed still could smell it… OMG couldn’t it off… had to take a shower…finally..
update: glad it works for some people not me….:(

I’m right now in to my first hour of testing this perfume and so far I just love it!
The first 15 min. were a bit odd, I swear I can smell cloves in it, but that tones quite quickly down to a more spicy, sweet, rounded vanilla with a citrus touch.
I honestly don’t care if the pheromones work with men, but it certainly did lift my mood after the dry down.
Pretty strong with descent sillage, so I’ll spray sparingly.
I’m normally a Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, Gianfranco Ferre or Giorgio Armani Code kinda girl, but this one will certainly be a new member of my perfume collection.

I’ve worn this fragrance since it first came out many years ago. It’s great that it can now be bought at Ross for around $10. This fragrance is for me more of a winter fragrance, as it’s very warm in mood. It lasts and lasts, and every time I wear it people hang close to me and ask me what I’m wearing. Oh, and the lotion is WONDERFUL!

  28. :

    4 out of 5

This scent works great with my body chemistry. I bought it on a whim, I think it was $10 at Ross. I had read about it and was interested in trying pheromones. On myself, it starts out as a pretty oriental fragrance. It then dries down to a vanilla and honey base with a touch of citrus. I used to wear this a lot when i worked at a preschool and the children used to tell me I smelled good all the time.

I got this years ago when it was new. The sleek gold rollerball was unique at the time and I think the perfect way to apply this strong scent. All you need is a dab. In facti think I may have turned away from this after buying a bottle. I now have a rol on and apply only on occasion, but never smell anything bad. All the overly dramatic comments seem to be just that. There are certainly much more offensive scents out there.

I really love this affordable, little-known gem of a perfume! I feel so lucky that I’ve discovered this! It is a gorgeous, creamy, citrus delight deepened by honey and cassia (The difference between the effect of cassia as opposed to cinnamon is that cassia is a tad earthier/bitter to my nose.) 10 minutes into the dry down it resembles my most beloved L de Lolita. If I had to describe the differences between them, it would be that L de Lolita is a blonde beauty and Realm is her equally pretty older brunette sister. I can’t say much about the effects of the human pheromones they’ve used in this perfume; whether they really have added to the compliments and affectionate behavior I received while wearing it. My perfumes frequently get positive attention and when I smile most people respond in the same manner. 🙂 For those of you who are looking for a slightly “noir” edition of L de Lolita, give Realm a try. I’m glad I did!

do not over spray this!I cant stress it enough! one spritz is perfect! I had a bad experience with that because of my nose being overwhelmed(gave me a headache), I didnt notice the strong scent and made the mistake of over spraying this!(yep even 3 sprays is too much) if you want a good experience, only spray one time! thats it! just one time on the wrist and I promise you that’s all you will need! the lasting power is amazing and the scent is nice and spicy smelling(but as said, in a one single dose! does the pheromones work? yep, its not magical or anything and it didnt make every guy come after me, but I did get alot of guys hitting on me and telling me how nice I smelt, you will get lots of attention(like compliments and looks) but this wont make everyone fall for you, so dont get to excited K?

I love Realm!! I was single for over 12 years then I bought a bottle of Realm! Within 5 weeks I noticed that men were more attracted to me and payed more attention to me! About the 5th week of wearing it, I met and fell in love with my husband! He would constantly say that he “loved my smell”! we were married within that year!! Then I couldn’t find the perfume anywhere….I looked and looked. I was told it wasn’t made any more! I was thinking about it today and decided to look it up on the computer….and there it was! I was so thrilled to be able to buy it because I had thought, all these years, it wasn’t made any more!! I am so anxious to rwecieve it and start wearing it again! THANK YOU
EROX for still making this great perfume!

I had the worst perfume experience of my life with this foul brew. After I sprayed it, I was assaulted with the stench of burning plastic, which soon settled into a bouquet of “burning plastic garbage can full of rotten fruit, pickles, and old rainboots”. Its monster silage more than makes up for the bad scent: you’ll smell bad from a distance, for a very long time. I bought this at a local discounter as a 2-for-1 deal, but I could have found a better-blended scent at the dollar store. If this perfume is your kind of thing, I’ve got two full bottles on my exchange shelf, and I’m willing to accept any reasonable trade.

Acid, bitter rotted fruit odor does not do as it claims with the monkey pheromones and all, not a turn on for anybody. Does the chemical attractant work? I think not, unless you count placebo effect. I give this one a big yuck.

This smells ok at first but the dry down smells like a public washroom on my skin.I’m pretty sure its the Water Lily contained in this scent.I’ve always thought that water lilies smelled like pee or something.I’m going to try to layer the scent with something softer to see if its wearable.I have a really large bottle of this and would hate for it to just sit on my Vanity.

I have had this perfume for 2 days now. As soon as I put it on my son remarked that I smell great. My husband loves it, and I have had a few others, men and women tell me that I smell good. I smell the mandarin as soon as I put it on. Then it dries down to a sweet honey and vanilla. I love vanilla. I don’t know that I would say this smells better than the other floral fruity perfumes, and to me it seems to have a little spiciness to it. But there is something there that people love. You definitley attract attention when you wear this.

I just received a bottle of this as a gift, and had a bottle back in my single lady days… It was a man magnet back then, and now it’s a great attention getter with my husband. He isn’t even aware he is reacting, hahaha… I usually spray it underneath my hair, the scent is very powerful in a good way.. a little goes a long way and it has great staying power. I have also layered this with Aquolina Pink Sugar, to tone it down some and keep him guessing as to what is different about me upon occasion. This is a verrry sexy scent.

I just saw this fragrance being sold in a gift box with the big bottle of lotion for $9.99 and on top of that it was an extra 25% off!! now I’m thinking why on earth did I passed this one up. I”m going again today and hopefully they still have it. I remember the box had the little scratch off sticker and it smelled really good.
