Description

Purple is a sensual, elegant and mysterious colour, and because of that it was chosen for this floral, sensual and oriental fragrance. The heart is made of purple flowers: violet, purple orchid and lilac. Crocus, passion fruit and blueberry are in the top notes. The base is made of amber, sandalwood and musk. Designers are Antoine Lie and Guillaume Flavigny. The perfume was created in 2006.

European blueberry + crown vetch (Securigera varia).
One of the best Dali’s fragrances.
Very violet, purple, erotic but “distant”, cool, metaphysical, not sweet, introvert. I wish every perfume of Salvador Dali smelld like this.

great ! it smells like the day version of purplelips sensual
while sensual is sexy spicy and more powdery due to the cinammon
    this one is lighter
    but like others said
    it’s strong
and i believe this is quite unisex too
there’s no fruity notes that i could detect
    and about the orchid
    i’m a crazy orchid fan
still i cannot smell orchid here
but after 10 minutes it becomes a bit floral indeed
    in all, a huge like
    like rubylips
i didn;t expect them to be this good

This is a lovely scent and quite a whimsical bottle. I just acquired this perfume and several others from a gal whose downsizing her perfume boutique. Lucky me! 🙂
I wore this last night and my impression of this is that of catching wafts of smucker’s grape jam that has been refined, made more beautiful and been made sheer by being in a dense fog or mist. Sounds weird, I guess, but, I feel most of my Dali perfumes are light and breezy and give me an air of faintness, as though I am sniffing the scent through a vortex from somewhere magical very far away.

This perfume smells lovely!!! I smell blueberry with pomegranate and lilacs all together creating a sweet soothing scent. But one downside…it lasts very little sadly. :/

Pomegranate skin softened by blueberry juiciness, those vanilla orchids are sensual enough to be called “evening fragrance” or vacation fragrance..Or special date fragrance…Its very long-lasting and exotic on me.
Seems to be gone from official Dali website so – discontinued same as Dalimania.

This was my blind buy…not exactly sure what to think about it. First I sprayed it on a paper and thought – this is not the kind of perfume I wear. I think it is the amber and vanilla making it not my cup of tea. After the first ten minutes on the paper, I was questioning the scent for not being sure wheter it is men’s fragrance or women’s. So I put it under my male collegue’s nose to tell me. He told me it is definitely for women. Still disappointed I showed it to another male collegue to tell me what he thought. I prepaired him for the disappointment and told him I don’t like it. He, however, liked it very much. A brilliant perfume, put it on! So I sprayed it indecisively on my wrist. First, the sillage was quite heavy. Alcoholy, and I could finally smell the blueberries, absent on the paper. But not the home-made marmellade blueberries, but the artificial cupcake blueberry. I usually wear floral-woody-citrusy things, but this is not my usual kind of perfume. This belongs to the heavier side of barricade.
Later on, as it dissolved on my skin, I started to discover where the people take the resemblance to CK Forbidden Euphoria. However, I like CK more asi it is more of a lighter perfume than this one. After the first 30 minutes I even smell some citrusy tones there!
So, the first impression – no way. Second – there is something pretty there.
After 30-45 minutes: quite nice. Still smell the “male” side of it, cannot help myself. But as my collegue said: you have to consider male impresson of the perfume on you! Well, I think I will get used to it, after an hour it smells quite nice 🙂

This smells like a more INTENSE version of John Galliano “Parlez-Moi d’Amour”, very blueberry!

One of my buying unsniffed mistakes 🙂 Totally not me. Stays sour on me, almost citrus-like and I expected some softness. A purple acid scent…modest longevity. Maybe I will learn to like it?
P.S. Now my sister is a happy owner of this – she liked it, fortunatley 🙂

Starts with a blast of sweet/tart blueberries and then the pomegranate and sandalwood come in. Sweet, but warm and woody. Reminds me of Forbidden Euphoria a bit, but younger and brighter. On my skin it’s more fruity than floral.
Works for day for evening. Unique and inexpensive like most Dali fragrances.
Moderate sillage. Lasting power isn’t great, but really improves if you spray a bit on clothing.

It has the strangest notes…like I smell tea and some sort of woood smell… yes it has the 1980s synthetic smell but not overall bad… it not my favorite but it just strange… mine said France on the bottle not sure what company is still make this but I can’t find it no where….

I really love this one. It is synthetic, but something about it makes me so sooo happy! 🙂 Maybe it reminds me of something. When I was a child my parents bought me a “make your own perfume set” from Toys R Us for Eid. There are quite a few frags that I love purely becuase they remind me of that set I had, and of course coming home from the Mosque on Eid day, opening presents, and just the joyousness of that day as a young and carefree child, some of the best memories a person can have, no?
I remember there being vanilla, rose, berries, and there were quite a few more you could use to mix. But, this definetely reminds me of that set. 🙂
If you don’t mind some synthetics, regardless of preference, you will love this. It is very very sweet.
Also, something about this reminds me of one of my favorite books as a child, Madeline! So many lovely feelings and places that this one evokes.
Sugary Lilac and Violet petals, velvety Orchid, smooth Sandalwood, yummy bitter sweet Berries and Passion fruit, and a sensual Musk. Whats not to love? 🙂
1 part Hypnose, 1 Part YSL Elle, 1 Part Midnight Fantasy, 2 parts Euphoria.

I like this fragrance. It really makes my mood better:)
Most of all I feel the pomegranate note, the purple granadilla note and the violet note in it.
Because of the pomegranate note it remindes me Euphoria a little bit. Only I like this fragrance more, because Euphoria seems sour enough to me and opens on me like a pomegranate vine.
The only thing that I don’t like a little bit in this fragrance – the purple granadilla dries my nose somehow:) But at the same time exactly this tropical fruit note makes my mood always better:)))
And the violet note makes this fragrance mysterious enough. So it’s good for wearing not only in a day tome, but also at night.
My favorite by Salvador Dali by far.

I think it is a pleasant mix of Cacharel Amor amor (original red one) and a bit of Britney Midnight Fantasy.
I smell clearly the white musk, and some gentle berry aroma without the disturbing sugary note which contains MF.
Lasting power is not great but average from an EDT.
I love the design of the bottle.

not bad. Reminds me of YSL’s Elle. But somehow this is more appealing to me than that one.

SMells like blueberry pancakes at first with a touch of lilacs.I get crocus sticking their heads out of the snow.THe musky amber drydown is sweet and sexy. Its one of my doing nuttin special fumes.Good but wouldnt win any prizes.

it’s great during the top and middle notes, but truth is… the drydown has an obvious synthetic edge.
smells like forest fruits, yes, very very veeery charming. It’s very calming to wear it and lasts quite long.
I agree, it’s very feminine and elegant… the only minus for me is the synthetic drydown.

This one is more special than the first impression gives. After a few months it surprised me with its PURPLE soul. That would be my way to describe it. A perfume with a purple soul..

I get very predominant violets with this one, not much else. It’s just ok, not something I will wear. Way too sugary for me.

I received this one as a gift from a dear friend. 😀
Longlasting, uplifting, comfortable, the purple bottle is beautiful. Purple is a special color for me, dramatic, mystical.

This is okay, nothing special. This would need to be a little more daring and sensual to deserve Salvador Dali’s name on it.
It smells pretty much as the notes read, some berries, violet and then amber and musk. Pretty good lasting power.

The lilac fragrance its pretty notable in purplelips…
Its delicious, airy, very feminine, elegant… and for me, very romantic 🙂
Have a tiny touch of the smell of “le roy soleil” that i love¡¡¡ this fragrance its warm but nothing overwhelming 🙂 Its wonderful for spring, autumn or for warm days… for my mood this one have something extremely pleasant 😀
In my opinion its more similar to ‘inspiration’ of lacoste than ‘amor amor’ of cacharel… and this one its trully better than both 🙂

This magic fragrance has intrigued me. It smells like a picnic in forest in the summer evening. Here full juicy mature blueberries, grow bitter herbs, forest violets, smells bark of tree, and I eat vanilla sweet dessert. Topping, rich, but not heavy composition. Warm but not stuffy. Very feminine, fine and elegant.
