Description
Betty Barclay will enrich her collection of fragrances with another perfume in April 2010. Pure Style is a clean and white fragrance for women aiming at self-confident business women.
Composition of the new perfume Pure Style brings us notes of bergamot, white freesia and white peach in a top, adding jasmine, lily of the valley and magnolia in a heart. Base notes include a blend of white amber, cedar and white musk. Its outer carton is also white, just like minimalist flacon with sporty, curvy edges which accentuate union of cleanliness and femininity. The whole ‘white theme’ of the edition is presented in an advertising campaign where the colour of white dominates.
Fragrance Pure Style is available as 20ml edp, 20ml and 50ml edt spray, 75ml deo spray, 200ml shower cream and 200ml body lotion.

A bit unisex. Fresh and good for office but not expressive enough.
strong47 – :
Jasmine+magnolia=headache. I should not buy any perfume which has those.

A couple of minutes after spraying this, it became very much like CK One. It’s the same kind of thing. If you enjoy that classic, you’ll most likely be into this too. It’s easygoing, very simple to wear. Especially welcome in the heat, just like CK One is. If you want a scent to express the feel of cleanliness, this is it.
NEMONUMENT – :
Clean, creamy, but smells too sterile to me. Apart from that, it is really unoriginal, it just smells like a generic body lotion.
Main Notes for me are peach, magnolia and musk. Sillage and longevity are average.
A forgetable perfume.
sasho79 – :
so creamy, milky, fresh, neutral, like a soft Body Lotion smell, not parfumy at all, just a lovely clean creaminess. love it, but just like everyday scent, no statement, no seductiveness there
plus the bottle fits perfectly the smell, pure, milky, round, minimalistic

To me this is one of the most beautiful ‘clean’ fragrances, maybe even the most beautiful one.
It’s not destinctively soapy, and neither warm& cozy nor cool (like lovely Narciso Rodriguez Essence which makes me freeze..).
Instead it has the most light fluffiness to it, like new snow, and freshly washed linen hung up to dry on a summery meadow.
Pure Style is very modern smelling in the sense that it gives a clear and minimalistic vibe.
It doesn’t smell natural or remind me of any real flowers, it’s abstract and artificial, yet it’s soft and no screechy laundry detergent. Clean and fresh with a bit of powder, no sweetness.
Don’t expect a strong message from this one, it is pretty quiet, polite and makes you happy without seeking attention for it.
Sillage and lasting power are decent, and while I don’t get along with other Betty Barclay frangrances too well, nor most other scents I found on similar drugstore shelves (which is also why I overlooked it for so long), this is a gem to me and I don’t ever want my collection to be without it.

“Pure Style” (the eau de parfum) is the first perfume ever by Betty Barclay which I acquired. It is housed in a rather minimalist white bottle, very fitting for the scent. It starts very white with freesia, a bit of bergamot and already lily-of-the-valley joins in. In the dry down this is supported by musk; I can not notice the other notes.
All in all it is floral, but a fresh greenish floral without a hint of sweetness and a slightly powdery touch. I would go so far to call it minimalistic and somehow it reminds me of “Blanc” by Paul&Joe. Also I think Jil Sander, but why?
It can be worn everyday, even for business and fits well for spring. The small bottle is good to take along, which is needed for touch ups as longevity is about half a work day.

i bought betty barclay without knowing what it is.But for little money, it’s okay to have at home.It is a bit of a gamble when you buy cheap perfumes in a store, but otherwise just do not know.
But this is a pretty strong floral and fragrant soap smell, for little old ladies, I can imagine. sitting course in quite some time, atleast for me, so it’s positivt.but it’s not a favorite with me directly, you think that oh well there is the perfume, yes it might test how it smelled back then ….
Maga_05 – :
I have to agree qith Anmo who compares it to a room refresher. It’s just a somehow fresh scent, but not very nice – just drugstore kind of stuff.

Betty Barclay scents are usually nice and well done and i love clean pure fragrances, so i thought this would be my new ‘to buy’ product.
However, top notes was completely artificial smelling and i actually found that peach doesnt mix well with my skin.
The middle notes were quite pretty but as it dryed down it resembled nice cleaning product/room freshener rather than a perfume.
Somewhat clean and even pleasant scent in some way, but not pleasant enough to be used as a perfume.
