A more fresh take on Bronze Goddess eau fraiche. Also less sweet. Very Nice:)

This is OK. I expected it to be better, from the reviews.
The fragrance itself is very good – very summery and I have a hard time picking out specific notes. It is vaguely ‘oceanic/aquatic’ and has a bit of citrus and floral. Overall a very nice and uplifting ‘I just got out of the shower after spending all day on the beach’ scent.
The performance, however, was disappointing. Very soft silage and next to no longevity – I sprayed half a dozen times and still, half an hour later I could only smell it if I held my nose to my skin or clothes. If it was more resilient and projected at least a bit more it would have been an easy ‘love’. For now it’s just a soft ‘like’.

I am a basic bitch. There is no shame in being a basic bitch, for to be a self-actualized basic bitch in essence means that you are not, actually, a basic bitch. Can a basic bitch know she’s a basic bitch? Is awareness not antithetical to basicness? I digress. I love a good marine scent. I love a simple, clean composition evocative of clean linen, terrycloth towels and Dark n’ Stormy’s on the back porch. Perfume to me is the encapsulation of desire; more times than not my desire, my longing, is of a maritime nature. Give me a goddamn coconut, let me imagine that I’m Diane Lane-ing a Night in Rodanthe. I am fine with the Coppertone basicnesss. Don’t need to hateration in this dancery.

Not a fan. To me, this smells like super-strong suntan lotion with a dose of musk. I don’t smell any woody notes, and not really any marine notes. There is a very sweet note that I think must be the tiare flower. If you like that, and you like suntan lotion’s smell, this might suit you. It’s not awful, it’s just not me and it’s not very interesting.

I love this. I’ve smelled a lot of Philosophy scents and was never very impressed. On a whim, I sniffed this in Ulta. Instant love. I get the salt, the tiare flower, and the musk. I trust that the woody notes are there, anchoring the scent, but I can’t particularly identify them.
The lotion and perfume combo really have staying power. It doesn’t necessarily smell like I’m wearing perfume-it’s almost like a more natural scent like a whiff of shampoo, fabric softener, or a candle scent that sticks to clothes.
Edit:
If I were to open a bed and breakfast or rent a room seaside, I’d spritz this on the pillows and sheets while making the bed.

Smells like Pure Grace mixed with sunscreen and salt water. It’s a fun, easy to wear summer scent. Good longevity, especially when paired with the body lotion–I can smell it 8+ hours later.

Lovely. Smells just like when we dry our clean clothes in the sun on the balcony at the beach.

Musky sunscreen mixed with stale dryer sheet.

Last year I was totally in love with the Pure Grace Summer, but I never had the money to pick it up, and then the spray was gone. I’m not a huge lotion person, so I didn’t pick up the lotion either.
This year’s version, Summer Surf, is in some ways nicer. Where Summer was very sandalwood and coconut, this is more suntan lotion, light salt and sea, and subtle blonde wood and floral. It’s a bit less sultry, a bit cooler and lighter. I’m wearing this in late April and am loving it. It very much reminds me of when you go to the beach early morning and it’s still too cool outside, but you know it’s going to be gorgeous in a few hours.
I love that Philosophy also gives you a really great deal on their fragrance when you get a gift set. A 2 oz bottle was over 45.00, but a full-size bottle with a medium sized lotion was only 53.00. The firming body lotion is always nice for a lotion, so I was more than happy to pick up both for that price.
I WILL say that this is another perfume from them that you have to spray multiple times before it seems to even be noticeable, and it doesn’t last long, but it’s a light enough scent that resprays aren’t a big deal. You won’t knock anyone out with re-application.
All in all, Summer Surf is pleasant, fun, and fairly versatile between spring and summer. Just lovely!

This smells so pretty. One of my favorites in this line. Not too crazy how it smells when first sprayed, once it settles, then it smells really pretty.
