Description

Estee Lauder grand daughter, Aerin Lauder, has decided to honor the memory of her grandmother by creating a new perfume which is based on the fragrance Private Collection created at the beginning of 1970s especially for Estee Lauder’s use. The company is preparing for launch of Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia at the end of summer 2007.

The fragrance composition is based on two flowers that Estee Lauder appreciated most, gardenia and tuberose, surrounded by orange flower, jasmine and white lily. In the top notes are neroli, lilac, and rosewood, and the base is composed of carnation and vanilla bourbon. The perfume is created in line with the Aerin Lauder’s conception by noses of Firmenich.

The perfume bottle design was inspired by Josef Hoffmann brooch, the top is gold, encrusted with semi-precious gemstones such as aventurine, citrine, green and yellow jade, and nephrite. Each bottle will be unique, as each gemstone is unique.

Instant love. Not sure why it took me so many years to test this on my skin. I immediately bought a couple of bottles and intend to live in Tuberose Gardenia for a while. Very elegant, crisp, radiant white flowers with a citrusy spicy backbone. Abundance of compliments, fit for any occasion. I feel like Harry Fremont took some of his ideas from Cerruti Image and delivered something classy, refined, upscale, but never aloof.

This is a very mentholated tuberose. I don’t get the creaminess I was hoping this to be. I expected a higher quality Gucci Bloom. I loved that one but I just like this. Don’t get me wrong, tuberose lovers will probably really dig this one. And it does smell of high quality. Tuberose just isn’t my favorite flower. I usually like it blended with some of my other favorite notes (like vanilla or gardenia).
I don’t really get any gardenia to speak of. Which is disappointing as that was what I was counting on to fall in love with this. In this version I think the orange blossom is very noticeable on my skin. Which is a shame because I don’t really like orange blossom either. It wasn’t a note I was expecting to be so prominent.
I’ll use my bottle but I won’t repurchase. This will be a good church fragrance next spring. I can see it on early spring days. This would be a good Easter scent.
There is a green/soapy woodiness in the dry down. I find that it stays very green throughout. You don’t just get the flowers with this fragrance, but rather the whole plant and the grass growing all around it.
Longevity and sillage are pretty good, but I don’t get 12+ hours with killer sillage either. It’s actually sitting pretty close to the skin on me.

This fragrance will always remind me of my hotel and travels in Bali.

An instant love! It opens up with tuberose and gardenia (well what do you know!) with, strangely enough, a hint of calone for some melon-y freshness. The lilac lingers in the background, which reminds me of Aerin’s Lilac path, gives the scent an atmosphere of a shaded path in the garden on a bright summer day. I don’t get any vanilla at all in the dry down, just greenness of fresh carnation. It’s a elegant, versatile spring/summer scent. Projection is moderate.

I’m definitely in the minority when it comes to this perfume. I didn’t like it, which was shocking to me since I love both Gardenia and tuberose. I thought the scent as a whole smelled tinny, like it had been stored in a tin can instead of the glass bottle it was housed in. Then the lemon topnote stuck around and lingered on my skin , smelling like a lemon household cleaning prduct.I couldn’t get past it. It just never seemed to subside. I would have to recommend trying before you buy. Then , there is always the chance I got a bottle that was old and maybe it had turned. I don’t know. But good luck to those of you who love it! 🙂

This is the perfect summer floral scent. It reminds me of Spring when I was a child, My mum used to put gardenia’s from our garden in our bathrooms. It smells exactly how it should- purely of gardenia & tuberose. I bought my bottle when I was in Sorrento in Italy one Summer, so it holds very fond memories for me. It lasts all day on my skin and I can even smell it on my clothes the next few days after initial wear too. Although for some reason this perfume does make me sneeze when I first spray it, the scent is absolutely worth it. It is a very classy floral scent, I always receive compliments when I wear it. Definitely worth the price.

This perfume plays back and forth between the two main attractions, both sharing the starring role: gardenia is dominant, then it switches back to tuberose. There’s a reason why this perfume is beloved, and I finally can understand the appeal.
I do enjoy Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia, but I’m wishing for something more, like an unexpected twist or turn, and this doesn’t deliver. It’s a straight road from start to finish, just losing a little power along the way.
I’m still on the hunt for a natural smelling gardenia, one of my favorite summer flowers. (I know this scent is created in the lab, but I can still hope for it to be a good dupe)
I’ll take this out again with the top down when the summer heat is turned up. If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past couple of years, it’s how temperature can effect performance. If I change my opinion I’ll report back.
    Lovely, but not a masterpiece.

I’ve bought Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia, because I was looking for less expensive and longer lasting alternative for Chanel Les Exclusifs Gardenia (EDT or EDP). I was lucky to get 75 ml for the price of 30ml. Now I can say it is not similar to Chanel, which is softer, fruitier and seems more refined to my nose. To me EL is a straightforward GARDENIA… powerful, slightly headache inducing. It almost does not change on me and lasts long on skin and even loner on clothes. I can smell very little of other notes: tuberose of course and a little bit of lilac. So to me this perfume is more close to Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia (minus some very “green” base notes in the latter). I am keeping both for now and probably will use them a lot this summer, but sadly none of them is a substitute to Chanel Les Exclusifs Gardenia. All three “tales of gardenia” are unique and beautiful.

I walked past a woman wearing this and I had to stop and ask her what she is wearing. I instantly loved it. It is so sweet and reminds me of the gardens in Epcot.
The fragrance becomes more complex on my skin after about 20 minutes and sticks around for the whole day.
I think it is a Statement and I have not come across a fragrance as powerful as this on my skin.

    This is beautiful.
Although sweet, and not overly so, it is not candy-ish. There is nothing cheap smelling about this perfume at all. It is just classy, bright, and happy. Yet, I could easily wear this on a summer evening special night.
It is fitting for a classy, charming, sophisticated woman who does not take herself too seriously – very Audrey or Katherine Hepburn.
    Longevity: 6-8 hrs
Projection: 1 spray and it wafts gently, complimented
For whom and when: for warmer weather, day or night, if you’re looking for understated sophistication few else will be wearing

Love the scent, although the first 5-10 minutes on me are a bit cloying. A first blast of fleshy, overwhelming Tuberose that doesn’t let anything else come through instead of the listed top notes. But! Worth the wait, because the rest of the scent is lovely on me. Great quality, A+. Strong. I prefer this on hot nights

This Estee Lauder white-floral scent is elegant and perfectly blended with a creamy dry down that keeps me loving it spring through summer. I agree with another reviewer who noted that Estee Lauder should be more highly credited for their creations. Personally, I Love the ES products, and this delicious scent is no exception. After trying so many white floral scents–this one has such a lovely composition, it’s my all-time favorite. Personally, I love the subtle green notes that peek through in the top. Then the rich rosewood appears throughout out each floral layer keeping the scent rich and grounded. But that creamy blend of vanilla with turberose and gardenia are the bomb!! Exquisitely blended, beautiful white floral scent. Love it!!

I really enjoy this perfume! I have been looking for a good gardenia scent for awhile and this is it. Strangely enough when i first put it on it smells like melted plastic 🙁 but after about 10 minutes it smells luscious and rich and pretty. The gardenia really comes through for me. This is a perfume I wear at home alone just because it smells so good.

The ex-girlfriend of my father (a very remarkable, successful journalist and business woman who I hold in high regard) just gave me this perfume today. It is her signature fragrance.
I must say I´m astonished by this creation. It captures delicately the essence of my favorite flowers that bloom in springtime… lilac, orange blossom, jasmine… All the notes are perfectly balanced.
This perfume makes me remember the carefree, good times I spend in Seville during a student exchange – it was the middle of April and the scent of blooming orange trees filled the streets of that romantic, Andalusian city.
Private Collection is the finest floral perfume I´ve ever smelled. I´m so happy to have my own bottle. No seller offers this perfume here in the Czech Republic… not even the official Estee Lauder boutique! I can´t understand why.

I wish this had more Gardenia as the tuberose overwhelmed the gardenia…Overall nice nothing in comparison to Estēe Lauder Private collection 1973 Omg Deliciously one of my fav classic scents of all times…
I wished it had more of the private collection signature the original had and mind ya Private collection didn’t have gardenia nor tuberose as any notes…this one is very floral, nice and Omg so expensive indeed ridiculous smh!

Adoro le gardenie in questo profumo… Inebriante. Invitante. È troppo forte per indossare più di uno spray, quindi ogni volta che lo indosso lo nascondo dietro le orecchie.

I came little late to the gardenia-tuberose party, it’s the only thing I regret. Estee Lauder does not receive the recognition and appraisal they should. Their creations worth much more than they already worth.
They’re beautiful. So is gardenia-tuberose. They who love true white florals are going to be happy with the scent. If you especially love Diorissimo, you possibly need Gardenia-Tuberose too. For those who love the “idea” of a floral, which is better interpreted in shampooish fruity florals, Gardenia-Tuberose is not a good fit.
Overall this is a love from me. The perfume opens with straight up tuberose, the headache inducing variety, but true intense plummy powdery tuberose which after some minutes unfurls into the main scent of gardenia, on which this perfume focuses. Of course, as everybody knows by now, extracting gardenia oil is not succesful, so with the help of the other notes, the scent of gardenia is reconstructed.
You get good amounts of lily of the valley here. And a clear gardenia, not clean, CLEAR. There is an earthy note and a well measured soily smell to this gardenia. And that metholated note in the background belonging to tuberose; so tuberose is there, it’s not really missing. Metallic, green, truly luminous. It’s a floral but not completely revealing like J’adore, there is mystery in the scent that is so womanly. With a vintage vibe, a nod to the classics.
    A gem
    Heaven, heaven, heaven!

  19. :

When I read “Tuberose Gardenia” I didn’t think they meant that literally. Be forewarned, this is not the idyllic sunshiny version of these flowers. The interpretation is more like having the actual petals shoved in your face (and IMO more Gardenia-ish than Tuberosey). Very heady. Very natural smelling.
I strongly agree with the resounding chorus here that it isn’t worth the price. At best a full-sized bottle should go for no more than sixty bucks. Yes, the scent is lovely in its own way- but the cost is inexcusable. Highway robbery. You can do way, way better for the over-two-hundred-dollar range.
Do not blind buy! Sample first!

Oh my gosh, yes! I have a few other fragrance tastes, but I am a floral girl through and through. I blame it on the grandmother who wore Joy. 🙂 I bought this on a blind buy and just tried it, and it is the utter immersion in heady floral that I love. It’s not overly sweet or overwhelming, it’s very well balanced. This one is definitely going into the rotation for those days when I want to feel enveloped in gorgeous floral loveliness!

I live in Sydney and Gardenia’s are in full bloom in my garden and on my front porch right now. The floral smell which wafts out as I walk past smells exactly like this perfume. I always get comments on the beautiful Gardenia smell when I get visitors. And I usually get comments when I wear this perfume. It smells 100% gardenia to me – without a doubt. I love it!

Almost 12 hours after testing this in store, I can still smell traces of it. Although now very faint and demure, it bloomed and bloomed throughout the day. I had gone into the store to purchase another perfume but now I want to own this one too. Estėe Lauder is not my favourite perfume house and I know very little about it, but this was beautiful. Like a huge bouquet of freshly blooming highly fragranted flowers. I almost regret my Chanel purchase and wish I had bought this instead.

I adore this, and am not a tuberose fan at all. So, if that’s you too, don’t let the name keep you away from this beauty, mainly gardenia. Not much tuberose at all. This is no Fracas.
One squirt on my cleavage lasts most of the day and two squirts is overpowering.
Expensive, but everything from the bottle, sillage and longevity makes it a decent enough value for me.
I appreciate the dry down and the slight if not dramatic aroma changes through the day and, of course, the way it smells overall.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

I tried this one on, as I love gardenia and tuberose. I have to agree wholeheartedly with perfumempress. I smell mostly gardenia and nothing else, which is ok but ends up quite one dimensional…and so outrageously overpriced for a one note that can be had for a fraction of the price. Combine this with a longevity of two hours, and the price is even more outrageous.
If it was cheaper, much cheaper, I would buy it for the odd time it struck my fancy.
But at this price…I expect much, much more.

  25. :

I got a sample of this from a nice SA. It’s ok, but really nothing to write home about. On me, the tuberose – which is what I wanted to smell the most – is barely noticeable. It is a fresh, inoffensive, soapy, way too polite, way too ephemeral scent. And it is ABSURDLY overpriced. I’m not forking out $90-120 for what I consider to be an after-shower splash cologne.

I first bought this late in 2007 when it was first launched, I think I was in Perth on business. They were celebrating the launch by spraying this on test strips for customers at David Jones and I was so enraptured by the fragrance that I didn’t hesitate to purchase the large bottle (around $500) there and then…ouch!
10 years later, I have a little left in the bottle, and it smells as utterly beautiful now as it did then, in fact I am going to replace it. The tuberose is absolutely voluptuous and sillage is extreme. I wore this to a business meeting (I had forgotten I had it on) and when my client walked into the room, she said the whole place smelled like a spring garden. I don’t think you can do better than that!
    UPDATE
Visited the Estée Lauder outlet store in Sydney today, it’s official, Private Collection has been discontinued and they haven’t had stock for more than a year. The sales assistant told me the very last bottle of PC had been sold that morning. Not being one to take what’s said as set in stone, I repeated my request to the other sales assistant…Turns out she had put a bottle aside for a friend some time ago, and it had never been collected. I bought it, the last bottle of PC Tuberose Gardenia in any Estée Lauder outlet retail store in Sydney…feeling just a little smug and terribly lucky.
DJ’s still have stock though in some of their stores.

So, this is a weird one…
I, rather stupidly, forked out blind for the 75ml bottle, on the EL website.
As I love tuberose and have a history of quite liking EL perfumes.
I also admit I rather liked the bottle cap…
Looking at the notes, it looks like a semi upside-down fragrance and that is kind of borne-out when you use it.
Wood in the top notes, but not in the base.
The first thing I get, though and the thing that endures most throughout the entire experience, is seapray.
It’s just hugely briny, on me.
    I assume it’s the lily?
It’s like I’m standing in a rather polite, not hugely scented (certainly, not to begin with, anyway) garden, on top of a cliff, by the sea.
I then get a ton of carnation.
I know, very well, what carnation smells like, because in the UK, flower sellers go into all the restaurants and try to pressure the men to buy a carnation for their date!
You then spend the rest of the evening having to carry it around and sniffing it, from time to time.
Fortunately, I quite like (or don’t dislike) carnation.
Although, that is certainly not what I was looking for, when I bought this.
    I was looking for tuberose.
    I’m not getting any tuberose.
    Literally, none.
Not sure if I’m getting gardenia?
May be getting a little – there’s a slightly mushroomy smell.
But, mostly, it’s a slightly sweet, VERY briny, carnation and lily scent, on me.
    It’s also very polite.
So polite, in fact, it’s virtually passive aggressive.
It’s what I imagine the cast of Big Little Lies might smell like…
I love that show, but I’m not sure I want to smell like the eBay woman?
    I don’t dislike it.
In fact, it’s quite pretty, if you like carnations and sea spray, with a hint of vanilla (eventually).
But, tuberose it is not – or not yet on me, anyway and I must be about an hour in, by now?
Will update if any ever emerges. 🙂
Update: So, just over two hours in and I think the faintest hint of tuberose may have (finally) emerged?
Or, at least, a slight, rubbery note has appeared (on one wrist!); which is normally associated with tuberose.
I still can’t smell an actual, fully-formed, tuberose note, however and even the rubbery suggestion of one is definitely losing the battle to the, ever-powerful, carnation.

Tuberose gardenia. This is the stuff perfume dreams are made of. In my book this is one of the classics and the longevity is definitely there. If you love strong scents and white flowers, this is for you. A true flowerbomb without sweetness to try to tame it. Just pure perfection that you can smell from afar. Not a skin scent but a Perfume that tells you have arrived. The flower shop pales in comparison. I will definitely get this in future and hope that Estee Lauder never discontinues this.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

The first spray is a gorgeous and strong floral. I can smell almost every note listed, if I try.
But the drydown… that’s where my heart lies.
The deep drydown—after the other notes have receded and the vanilla has come forward some—is a true and creamy gardenia petal. But not until the drydown.
    A+++
    Huge love.

Oh, my God, this is GORGEOUS! Such a beautiful, fresh, genuine tuberose gardenia fragrance. I love it. It lasts all day and overnight , and it’s so lovely I can’t bear to be without it. I wish they would make a bath gel in this fragrance. To die for.

  33. :

I think this is an absolutely exquisite interpretation of gardenia and tuberose. It’s fresh and multifaceted, lush and voluptious, naturally sweet and creamy, and not at all too heavy, artificial or cloying. A superb quality pure white floral with pleasant sillage and excellent longevity!

  34. :

I went to Estee Lauder counter to buy Private Collection 100ml but ends up with a smaller bottle of 30ml of Turberose for the same price. Definitely one of the best perfume; love the fresh and green jasmin scent. jasmin can be overpowering; but in this perfume, they manage to balance the right jasmin smell without the sharpness. Longevity is great.
This perfume smells almost identical to Annick Goutal le Jasmine which is the most precious perfume I have in my collection at the moment.
    Definitely worth the money!!!

I love this. I’ve had my bottle for more than a year and freely admit to hoarding it jealously. PCTG is the only white floral I have in my collection, and honestly, it’s the only one I need. The gardenia is sublime, in the truest sense of the word. It is achingly beautiful. After the gardenia fades, a creamy, lush white floral composition takes over. I can’t detect the individual flowers at this point, but it is still gorgeous. I do wish the longevity was better. I get about 4 hours before it disappears completely, but my skin notoriously eats fragrances. I don’t wear it often, but when I’m in the mood, simply nothing else will do.

Purchased this as a gift for my Mother for Christmas. Oh! does this smell nice, lovely floral fragrance which I chose to not only smell great but to remind her of her garden which is her pride and joy. It projects really well and it leaves a beautiful scent trail of floral heaven. Longevity is also very well done, you will get some good hours out of this. I’m really glad I can come to Fragrantica and trust the reviewers insights on certain perfumes. Thanks!

This is a lovely scent, soft, not overpowering, I think this would be a crowd-pleaser. The notes all blend effortlessly and nothing is sharp nor screaming. More of a grown woman’s fragrance, and a little sophisticated but not a ‘snobby’ scent, classy and timeless and lovely. HOWEVER..this is not a unique scent. The first thing that came to my mind with this is Sebastian Design, which can be purchased for a fraction of this price, as for lasting power, I think Sebastian Design lasts me longer during the day than this Lauder fragrance. This Lauder fragrance all but disappears off of me within a few hours, whereas Design lasts me all day. There are also fragrances similar to this I have smelled before, I am sure (Michael Kors and Coach also come to mind). But this is quite lovely, very soft, comforting, relaxing and feminine. Not overly sweet, which is appreciated. I like this quite well but it is just not the unique fragrance I had hoped for. I actually think I prefer the other fragrances a little bit better, and the other fragrances I mentioned last me longer. Still, this is quite lovely and feminine. Not overly girly, which is also appreciated. A slight sexiness in the background. Nicely done, but just not original in my opinion. But it is nice to get when they have those freebies gift with purchase deals. Other than that, I think for me, this is seen it, have/had it, is/was lovely, but won’t buy it again.

My favorite, and probably my signature now that I’m 23 and need to get past the younger scents. This feels perfectly ladylike and very put together. A linear composure of quite simply what’s written on the bottle – tuberose and gardenia. I don’t get any of the other notes, honestly, but I do amp white flowers so maybe that’s why.

  39. :

A lovely tuberose/gardenia combination, simple but well-mannered, none of the indole bomb or synthetic headache. It’s soft and straightforward, long lasting with a lingering sillage.

  40. :

A straight forward tuberose/gardenia scent. Its very linear, lasts a long time, and nice sillage. If you like a more soliflore type perfume, its for you. I wanted a little more complexity than tuberose/gardenia but it is done well

This is elegance in a bottle: a floral fragrance done perfectly. There are not enough words to describe how magnificent this fragrance is. The only reason i don’t own this right now is because of its hefty price tag!

I purchased this recently and am so glad I did, it’s so beautiful and elegant and I felt like I was immediately surround by a beautiful fresh bouquet of roses, but not a heavy or cloying smell. A very delicate fragrance with quite a good longevity, which gave me an air of confidence and just made me smile.
A real feel good fragrance and very feminine – a winner in my eyes.

This is a marriage made in Heaven! Creamy tuberose and vibrant gardenia have been skilfully blended to create a masterpiece. It’s long lasting and the silage is supreme. As a lover of orientals, I’m totally smitten with this superlative floral fragrance. It’s pricey – $150 for 30ml, but it gives me such pleasure to experience its beauty. I’ll wear it it the warmer months when I want to feel very special.

This is such a Beautiful Gardenia Tuberose scent .
Lifts the mood up to higher plaises 😉 This is perfect for spring time , It has a warm almost blanket kind of feal on my skin , Lingers and swirls around me when i move around and such a people pleaser . I have had sevral people stoping and sniff in the air when i pases and they all goes .mmmm what a divine scent .
I must edmit i have been a bit scared of tuberose and gardenia in the past thinking it did not fit me . But luckely that time has past. Now i can wear this proud and with joy . I would call this a young scent . Many tuberose gardenia scents i feal are for mature style only , But this is for as slightly younger audiense aswell,( not to say that this can only be worn by a specific age..)
To me the florals has a almost fruity touch aswell. it isent screachy or cold to green or to much of anything , its just perfect.

After searching high and low for a realistic gardenia fragrance, I was thrilled to discover Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia! Such a clean, fresh, linear composition. Similar to Fracas–minus the initial blast of aldehydes. I’ve fallen madly in love with Tuberose Gardenia! Sillage is moderate & longevity is far above average (7+hours)–can still smell this after several hours on the beach. It seems that perspiration “reactivates” this juice!!
LOVE the versatility of Tuberose Gardenia–perfect for the office or evening wear! A five star stunner! It is no surprise that Luca Turin, biophysicist and perfume critic extraordinaire, gave Tuberose Gardenia one of his very rare five-star ratings 🙂 Go out and get yourself a bottle of this beauty!

The lady at the Estée Lauder counter talked me into this one back when it launched in 2007. I have never been able to wear EL perfumes–they make me sneeze and/or feel nauseated. But I LOVE gardenias in my garden. I so wanted to love it. Alas, on me the heavy gardenia was past its prime, cloyingly sweet to the point of decay. Please someone explain what EL puts into their scents to sicken me? I recently passed this one over to my mother who is impervious to that EL X-factor. She loves it.

Somewhat confused. I just called Estee Lauder website, and they said Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia has NOT been discontinued. One of the reviews on their site said their original TG creme had been replaced with a body lotion/moisturizer…. At any rate, I love EL Tuberose Gardenia! Also a request to other reviewers to compare/contrast other gardenia perfumes. In addition to EL Tuberose Gardenia, I’m currently trying Isabey Gardenia, Tom Ford Velvet Gardenia, and I have a tiny decant of the infamous Jar Jardenia. The last sadly being an enormous mushroom accord with a faint gardenia note, for those of you wondering. (I prefer the proportions to be just the opposite.) Probably just as well, since it is soooo expensive.

I don’t wear Lauder very often so this immediately reminded me of Beyond Paradise’s ozonic tang. The crystalline effect is common to most Lauder scents, in this case it’s icy and very accomplished, much less tuberose than gardenia, although one can smell both. The combination is very well done. The gardenia is good, worlds better than Floris (which I used to like) and probably as good as one can get. It lasts well, and I feel I should be wearing a business suit. A departure from my usual and therefore a treat for my nose! Recommended xx

I found this at a Neiman Marcus outlet last weekend in the U.S. I was able to sample this on my wrist for the first time and was taken by the blooming gardenia & tuberose basting in the glory of their green-ness. As if almost equal amounts of each flower are present, or it may seem like. Maybe it’s just harmony with the right doses of each flower, but i could also detect lily and even a tad of carnation.
This compososition unfolds complexity as each hour passes.
This is not at all sweet. Projection is above moderate and lasted til the next shower with several handwashings along the way.
Overall a sophisticated scent in which almost any sophisticated white floral lover could appreciate.

Estée Lauder’s Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is gorgeous! Green tuberose, creamy gardenia, and heady jasmine. The lily is very crisp and the orange blossom sweet. I found out that the Private Collection by Estée Lauder has been discontinued and after reading the rave reviews, I figured I would go pick up a bottle before they became unavailable or obscenely priced. It was a nice investment because I love white florals and I will definitely enjoy wearing this!

This perfume is one of the truest, natural “lei” scents I have smelled. It really smells like you have a lei around your neck! I have smelt it on other people and mistaken it for Jo Malones Orange Blossom (which I love but turns bitter on me). Very fresh!

Gardenia, tuberose, lilac, jasmine: always a winning combo in my book. Together they smell lush and sweet. There is a hint of freshness.
The spicy dry notes of carnation and lily offset the sweetness with some bitterness. I’m glad for this as it sets this fragrance apart from White Shoulders, another white-floral & lilac bouquet, which I like a lot but can be overwhelmingly sweet. Overall this fragrance is very lovely.
Wearing it I feel quite ladylike and posh. Makes me want to drink tea with white gloves, nice dress, pink lipstick, and pearls.

I was a bit underwhelmed by this scent – I think I was expecting a little too much. Trying to be objective, so I will say that it is a lovely scent. At first, you get a very animalic orange blossom/neroli, that is very old school and deep and lovely. I just had a hard time appreciating it because I was expecting a burst of real life tuberose. The drydown involves more of the white florals – lily, tuberose, and sweet gardenia – and they are all buttered up by vanilla. I think it smells lovely – but it’s a little heavy on the vanilla for me. I wish it was more the natural sweetness of white flowers instead of the heavy sweetness of vanilla. The lily and tuberose are there, but they are somewhat drowning in butter. The search for the perfect gardenia/tuberose scent continues! Also, something about this reminds me of Beyond Paradise.<
