Description
Adolfo Dominguez has introduced the new and exclusive Private Collection of fragrances in late 2010. The collection offers three exquisite female perfumes – Ambar, Mahonia and Freesia. Each of them represents a different organic element that defines a different character, each inspired by a special ancient story.
Mahonia embodies the Indian legend of the Mohican called Silent Eagle who was traveling downriver with his canoe Mahonia until he crashed and sank. On this coast, an unknown fragrant wood was discovered and a new canoe was made, also named Mahonia. This intensive and strong oriental woody fragrances features notes of bergamot, pink pepper, rose, jasmine, mahnonia or Oregon grape, patchouli and musk.
Highly decorative bottle design represents a mixture of materials and textures in contrast with golden details. The bottles are made of glass of different colors (blue, dark wood and burgundy red), with large luxurious wooden stopper on top. The fragrances are available as 50 ml EDP.

This is actually a really interesting scent, more depth and less run-of-the-mill than you might think by looking at the notes!
Here it would LOOK like just a polite, typical, feminine rose/white musk/clean jasmine, right?
WRONG! It’s got some skank to it! There are some indoles in the jasmine, making it richer and much more interesting. The musk/bergamot combo have a certain pleasant, almost sour tang to them that combines and enhances your average rose into something robust, the way vinegar greatly enhances the flavor of the right dish.
It’s really a delight, a true chypre rose. It’s nice to find a feminine scent that doesn’t flutter her eyes and look away shyly, but instead stands up taller, tosses her hair and meets your gaze with a coquettish smile when she catches you looking. I like. Also it’s STRONG, 1 spray is enough for me and it lasts quite a while. More than that & the patch/musk are a bit scratchy around the edges for me.

I would love to smell this scent! I had to read about the fragrance as soon as I saw the name! Mahonia is the name of the Governor’s House here in Oregon, it is also our state “flower”, the Oregon grape. Obviously I am very curious as to what it smells like!

I love Mahonia. I purchased it while in Spain. Can I purchase it online?
