I have their Sleeping Beauty perfume which I spritz on myself when I’m in costume on Disney Cruises. I perform in the shows as Aurora and Cinderella. When I’m Cinderella I prefer to scent my costume and myself with Vera Wang Princess. I will be portraying Belle on my next cruise job in a brunette wig. I was surprised to read the notes in this fragrance: galbanum seriously? Violet rose jasmine amber and woods? That sounds like a chypre, a very mature sophisticated adult woman’s perfume not a child’s perfume. So I bought it blindly because I was dying to know what it smells like. Wow. This is the best and most sophisticated “grown up” of the Disney princess fragrances. The others are light fruity florals. This one is a woodsy perfume with a dominant rose note. It’s also got plenty of amber. Again all these are very adult fragrance ingredients. It’s not strong and it’s subtle and it does not have a very long life like the other Disney Princess perfumes but while it’s on you it smells like it could be a girl’s first introduction to what an adult perfume would smell like. This smells so beautiful, so elegant, so feminine, classy, and like a fragrance for a French brunette who prefers notes like that green plant smell of galbanum or woods than flowers. It smells like a forest in fact it smells like the opening scene in Beauty and the Beast with the forest and the rose bushes as the camera zooms into the Beast’s castle with the narrator saying: “Once upon a time in a far away land a prince lived in a shining castle”. A fairy tale fragrance. A rose in the forest. This scent really does fit with Belle’s personality. It perfectly describes her. The rose note is the strongest of the floral scents and that’s so appropriate because the Rose is a big player in the movie with the enchanted rose the Beast keeps in the West Wing of his castle to remind him he has very little time left to get a girl to fall in love with him. Such a beautiful fragrance. In technical terms it’s a green apple-rose-on-wood base fragrance. It’s light and inoffensive but if you do put on too much of it the greener notes of galbanum come out. I can’t put too much of any perfume on because as an entertainer on cruises people are always very close to me and hugging me including children so I can’t wear any fragrance that is too strong. I love this very much. I can’t wait to turn into Belle.

Smells like flowers with sandalwood. I like it but not a lot, maybe because of the weak notes and the poor lasting.
Good for children, less good for me.
