Perry Ellis Portfolio deserves more attention. It’s an elegant, clean, dressy rose with a nice sandalwood base. Blackcurrant makes the rose darker, while vanilla deepens and sweetens it. Just gorgeous and extremely wearable. And unlike any other scent I own. Light to moderate sillage but good longevity. I don’t get tired of this or become anosmic. It’s quietly by my side all day.
My only criticism is the cheap looking plastic cap. A scent this nice deserves better packaging, yet I suppose that’s how they keep this affordable. And after all, there are plenty of expensively packaged and heavily marketed scents that don’t come close to this one in beauty. Creed Floralie comes to mind immediately.
Do you ever stop to think that perfumes are a lot like people? We judge the bottle, the outward covering, the marketing, prestige, and reputation; sometimes these perceptions skew our judgment of what’s really on the inside. Plenty of my favorite scents, the ones I want to hang out with all day, the ones I am loyal to, don’t come in the fanciest packages – but of course, some are expensive and in pretty bottles. Same thing with my friends: some do come in fancy “bottles,” but others are in plain looking “packaging.” Sorry for the moralizing. …strange I never saw the correlation before.

Try this one if you love Chloe eau de parfum but want something less expensive. I have both and actually prefer Portfolio…more freshness to the rose and less ‘cleaning product’ astringent. Great lasting power with medium sillage.

This is very nice. It smells like roses with a little bit of citrus and green. Very wearable and won’t offend anyone.

I bought this in the early 00s as a blind buy.
I was pleasantly surprised. The main accords confirmed what I always thought…it’s very balanced. To my nose it’s a beautiful blend of rose, white woods and just a tad of spice. It’s really gorgeous and unique…I never smell it on anyone else, which is great. 🙂

I bought this also untested and was pleased when I smelled it. I bought my Perry Ellis when I visited Singapore in 2004 I used it and my future Husband then loved the smell. I saved the last for my weeding day.
I through the empty bottle away Saturday 11 August 2012. I didn’t want to part with it. We do not get this beautiful fragrance in South Africa.

I bought this untested. As I have always loved my Perry Ellis purchases I figured it was a no brainer. I was right. Compared to my signature fragrance Perry Ellis 360 (which is modern and non-floral), this is romantic and dressy with heavy floral. I am doubtful this will become a signature perfume for me but it is definitely one I am glad I made. The Perry Ellis line of fragrances are inexpensive but smell great.
