Gosh, Porta Alchemica, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…I might have to wax poetic and get all emotional, and break the rules of professional reviewing by using lots of adjectives like: Gorgeous and unisex–like Campari, you’re spicy, bitter and sweet–not too sweet for a gentleman to wear, but not too masculine for the ladies. You are so refreshing in this summer heat, and you make me think of Mediterranean blue seas, and green herbs growing wild on Tuscan hillsides. Somewhere deep down I smell some mysterious woods, and after several hours I get a whiff of tobacco and hay. Your spices are refined and subtle–definitely present but never loud. You waft from my wrist for a number of hours, but are never vulgar. I could take you to work, or to an elegant dinner…I’m yours, I give you five stars!

So far, this is my favorite of the Alkemia Spring/Summer 2016 Releases, and I have already placed a special order for a 10ml Ultime bottle (ultimate strength). The darkness of the Spring release is vital in order to focus the senses on the luminescence of other components… some of which will not be disclosed due to proprietary concerns: Violet leaf, lavender, myrtle leaf, neroli, cedar, tonka, hay, tobacco (which puffs and wafts with changes in ambient or body temp), and woods/spices which will remain unnamed.
