Description
Pop Rock! is the third fragrance from the Rock! by Shakira collection, launched in early 2016. It is preceded by the original Rock! from 2014 and Love Rock! from 2015. The new perfume is a limited edition that supposedly reflects the natural and pure energy of the singer, inspired by an explosion of energy and color on the scene.
“The concert reaches a crescendo… An explosion of color and energy bursts from the stage. The volume intensifies and passions are unleashed. The crowd is powerless to resist Pop Rock! by Shakira.”
The composition begins with notes of juicy mandarin, black currant, pear and peach. The heart blends floral notes of gardenia, Bulgarian rose and jasmine with a strong raspberry fruity character. Woody notes of patchouli and cedar end the composition together with musk and amber.
The fragrance is available as a 50 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette.

I can truly sense the whole composition of a perfume when I smell it on my skin outside in the clean air. Not indoors. Outdoors, I get a sweet& sour blast of mandarin, raspberry and some of the pear, as it settles I get the amber and the cedar mostly – it softens & gets woody. I think the patchouli is out of place and not fitted. But as a whole, the scent is def unique for me. Now indoors a different story.. oh boy. I smell popcorn, yes sour pop corn LOL, i know weird. Wears close to the skin.
Update: As time passes I realize it’s the patchouli not being in harmony with the rest of the notes. There’s a weird synthetic greenish popcornish smell that bothers me in the drydown which comes rather quickly. I do enjoy smelling this at an outdoor setting at the beginning. As i smell the sprayer on the bottle its wonderful and i see where they were TRYING to go with this perfume. Slightly woody, a little sweet a little earthy, but the patchouli is weird in here. I wear it alot when I ride or when i walk my dogs to smell it in the clean air and I get used to it. In all its weirdness it’s actually quite addicting. Initial spray i just LOVE it. Im someone that loves patchouli. In this genre you can try the Playboy generation for her, its quite similar but no weird notes there.
Update: Identical dupe of Mon Paris the EDP! not the EDT. But id say Shakira’s is fruiter so way better and more dimensional. The Mon Paris EDP is patchouli citrus bomb, pop corn smell in my face haha.

I see I’m not the only one who struggled to find this fragrance, given that it was a limited edition. I actually wanted her 2017 release (I Am Rock), but it was out of stock and doesn’t appear to be selling here.
This was a blind buy and I am very happy with it. I’ve not been using it for long since I recently got it, but so far, I’m impressed.
This is such a beautiful cocktail of fruity, flowery, and creamy. It opens a little sharp with the fruits but doesn’t take long to settle and dry down. I’m wary about musk in a lot of perfumes, as it’s usually much too strong and therefore offensive (to me). With Pop Rock, the musk and amber are really beautiful in the dry-down.
This fragrance has moderate longevity and sillage, and a sweet, lovely, clean, warm finish to it when it dries down.
For lack of better words, the sweet smell in the dry down is comfortable and pleasant, *not* the sickening type of sweetness that guarantees nausea and a migraine by the end of the day.
Unlike my other fragrances, less is more with this one (for me). I prefer to catch a nice whiff of this, not get slammed with it from using too much. As such, I dab it on my neck but spray my other pulse points and my top so it’s not overwhelming.
Would I repurchase it? Probably. Give it a try!

I’m sooooo glad to have Pop Rock now! I found a website that sold the 80ml for $25! Thank god, I didn’t spend a fortune to get this off of eBay. Anyway, I love the box and bottle. And the scent is not what I expected! I thought that it will smell basic, but it isn’t. It smells like a designer perfume. Very expensive-smelling (if that makes sense). It does remind me of one of my mother’s perfume. It is so soft! The fruits and flowers make a nice balance to get this softness. At the initial spray, I get all of the top fruits mixed together to get a nice fruity cocktail: the mandarin and black currant make this sparkling citrus scent but is dethroned by the delicate softness of the pear and peach. The fruity/floral heart has raspberry in it. It dominates the fruits so you can smell it. The rose and jasmine are out there mixed with the raspberry and the fruits in the top notes when the fragrance dries. The gardenia is also out there but is a little shy to show itself at its best. The musk made its way through all of the notes. The rest are there to have a long lasting fragrance. I’m very surprised with Pop Rock. Shakira did a great job with this one! I hope that I could also get Magnetic Elixir!

My first impression of this perfume after one day of wearing it, is that to me this is a better, and more in depth version of Love Rock just not as spicy. Now I see why I wanted this so bad for 6 plus months. Is has a patchouli, black current and amber mix which isn’t too intense, it gives it the right amount of spiciness imo, also i smell a slight raspberry, and peach, and musk but to me it’s not overbearing musk. The floral notes are there, but to me they aren’t the most intense notes on skin to me they play in the background. If you like Love Rock most likely you will like this perfume. Overall I give this perfume a 9/10 will do a full review on youtube later in the week. Also if you get this when you spray a lot comes out with one spray. She Also has two more new perfumes coming out in this line Sweet Candy, and Fruity Vibes, two Summer perfumes.

I finally got to order a bottle of this on ebay, it’s a US seller it’s $42.99 free ship for the 80ml, and they have 3. Rachel told me so I really appreciate that, even though I was looking a few times a week. I just hope we get Dance in the US.
