I sprayed this on my right hand in Sephora on Saturday morning and could tell right away that it is more intense than Polo Red. Fruity and sweet. It lasted almost the whole day and I couldn’t stop smelling my hand. I like it, although I like Polo Red more.

Sweet and fruity. A cranberry explosion with hints of coffee, leather and amber.
It does stay true to its original scent in Polo Red but the scent is amplified. Polo Red on steroids from the initial spray but it does settle down.
Possibly suited more for the younger gentleman but can be worn day/night. Blind buy safe!

One of the best fruity men’s fragrances ever. It’s def in my top ten. Beautiful coffee note. It’s not better than extreme

This and Montblanc Individuel dry down almost identically.

Cheap, synthetic, unsophisticated, excessively fruity. As a 29 year old not much good to say about this as most people who have smelled it cannot stand it. However I’m sure this is a decent scent for a young guy in casual settings with good longevity. Better options in the polo lineup.

In general I’m not a fan of Polo, but this is really nice. This is my favorite in their lineup. Like other posted the cranberry in the dominant scent. It is different and non-offensive. Very fresh and pleasant. Definitely a thumbs up. I’d rate it 8/10.

I picked up a 125ml bottle of this year’s back for an absolute bargain (18 Pounds!) I never really liked it much back then as I felt the cranberry dominated the scent a bit too much, but have started to appreciate it a bit more now. The combination of notes is very well done and depending on the temp it tends to go sweeter or more to the leathery side. Good Longetivity aswell and isn’t too over projecting.
I’d give it a solid 7/10 seeing as Ralph Lauren blue EDP is one of my fav frags.

This smells like a manly version of red cool aid in a good way,i get no less than 8 hours with this fragrance and it could be worn all year round,i love this scent and it has became one of my favorites,a solid 9 out of 10 for me

Love this fragrance. Solid performance on me 8 hours and good sillage for 2 hours. This frag never dropped any panties for me..but definitely do get good compliments. Evening/night out, dates, clubbing scent..Good one from Ralph Lauren

A great release, it fixes Polo Red’s longevity problem and isn’t as cloying as the Extreme version. Now this is a fragrance done right!

The cranberry dominates the fragrance somthimes and that’s amazing and u could smell the amber duribg drydown and not somuch of koffee there is also hints of lavender grapefruit and leather

A superb smell..suitable for evening, Compliment getter but longevity is short and sillage is average but overall I love this smell..lady friends love it too..a sexy fragrance

My husband has this and he is on his 2nd bottle thanks to me. Lol… I absolutely love the way it smells on him. I’m proud to say, he has received compliments from other women as well. In my opinion, it’s clean, fresh with a touch of spice. The lavender is prominent at first, then softens to a creamy, citrusy spicy scent—if that makes sense. I apologize if my review of specific notes are not clear. Reviewing perfumes in my collection is a tad bit easier. What I do know is the notes blend so handsomely. The scent trail that follows him makes me want to pull him closer, inhale slowly and just breathe-in…That’s how much I enjoy it.

I really like this scent. I’ve smell the original Polo red (wasn’t a fan of), smell the Extreme which I really love but the Red intense was intriguing. I expected it to be a more cloying version of Polo red red. Was wrong!
Yes it do start with the same vibe of cranberry and citrus punch, but the amber and coffee appear quickly and leather much later to give and interesting mature mysterious edge.
Longevity is nice 6 to 7 hours.
    fair projection
    good compliment getter
I recommend this scent is early 20s.
More a night time scent yes yes it’s more versatile Office, casual, and dates. Yes fits the colder time Fall, winter and early spring.
    so 7.5/10

This is such an incredible sweet smooth amazing fruty scent when u spray this in the opening u wil get a blast of cranberry sweetness like a cranberry tart kinda sweetness u also get some grapefruit when the fragrance start to drydown the cranberry is still there but u get hints of ginger lavender and leather and the final stage the koffee amber becomes more prominent smell 9/10 projection 8/10 longlasting 8.5/10 it smells verry similair to ultra male beginning and midd specially with the lavender because the same way u can smell it in ultra male and it also reminds me of eros

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Sweet, smooth, laid back cranberry, suede and amber.
Intense? Not really. For an EDP this one sits a bit close to the skin. I could see this as an all year round scent, maybe not so much for the high summer heat…but maybe evening summers. Easily a very playful going out scent. I can smell this as a clubbing and bar scent. Slightly youthful.
Kind falls into the same genre and vibe of Versace Eros, but replace the mint and Tonka with cranberry and amber.
Not a projection monster, this one sat close to my skin rather quickly. Longevity is the sad typical average EDP of today…..maybe 4 to 5 hours lasting power. It reminds me of the same performance issue of dolce gabbana ‘the one EDP’, where the opening smells promising, but then it dies quickly into a skin scent.
Man, I wish I could turn back time and get the strong concentration strength of colognes of the early 1990s where 1 to 2 sprays would choke out a room. Seems like colognes of today are just getting weaker and weaker.

Okay Polo, you finally got my attention. This is really a nice one to savor.
I’ve for years had this opinion that Polo was that classic DAD brand. You need a gift for fathers day? Go Polo. Old, sad, nothing new. But the Red line is finally their exception. Way to go!!!
The drydown is not as fresh out of the shower as on the Red. It is more masculine with that spice end note. But keeps that new age fruitiness even more.

    Polo Red Intense…
    Not bad…
    It smells nice…
Nothing ground breaking, but it’s nice.
My dates enjoy this scent on me.
So it won my vote with that one.
I like it and the ladies like it…
    that’s good enough for me.
I don’t smell it on myself after an hour…
    But others do.
Whenever i find another 6.7 oz / 200 ml bottle for $60 or less i’ll get it.
I say it’s worth it, you are going to use it at least once a week.
I used six sprays…both wrist, behind my ears, front & back of my shirt .
    Will I buy this again?…YES!

This is my least favorite of the three reds. I still purchased a small bottle. It is a higher concentration, longevity isnt an issue. Its got that crazy, candy vibe, like dr pepper bubblegum in the beginning, but i dont feel it fits me as a personal, wearable scent..i ended up spraying it on my sheets &using it for an air freshener. Dont get me wrong, i do like it, the red line is my favorite Polo fragrance- it just seems too wild and crazy for me to wear without feeling like a clown or someone elses entertainment. Too tooty-fruity. The dry down is still just a cedar-y meh, imo.

Totally a day fragrance, it draws compliments during the first hours, and then becomes a skin fragrance, I have the other two “Red” flankers, I still have not decided which one is the best.
And yes, is very fruity and sweet but mostly during the opening, I could swear I smelled pineapple but its not listed.
Overall is an OK fragrance, but I don’t se myself getting another bottle.

  26. :

Sweet like sugar, candy, fruit. Poor longevity. Overall just ok.

  27. :

I don’t really care enough to actually say this usually… This fragrance is a panty dropper. I typically buy fragrances for myself first and my wife second… With that said, the jury is out on my right hand. She enjoys it but she can’t decide if it’s a love… But it is bordering on one, which is different from almost any other frag I have. Women like this fragrance. It’s a compliment getter.
It has a vibe similar to Mugler’s Pure Malt or several A*Men flankers. Very sweet. This one changes it up for a more fruity note mixed with leather, less the boozy tone and patch. I’d say less gourmand and more spicy but still very sweet. You understand what I’m going for here.
It’s easy to see why it would be a crowd pleaser and more importantly, pleasing to the opposite sex. It has a masculine edge that blurs the lines between a male and unisex frag. It leans towards the fresh side which makes it suitable for pretty much all weather. Since I used Pure Malt as a basis, I’ll say that is more of a sweet masculine you could use in a professional or formal setting, while this is more aloof, casual. It has excellent longevity at around 10 hours and a “bomb” is being modest in terms of the sillage. It can be found in the “cheapish” range which makes this one nearly perfect. I love it.

The coffee note ruins this fragrance for me. makes it smell somewhat generic, the first time i tried it i was like wow this smells really good however i tried it again and it wasn’t the same. it has poor projection and longevity on my skin but too late i guess i already own it so will have to use it regardless how i feel about it now.

    Sex in a bottle
    I can’t stop smelling myself…
Juicy cranberries coming across as fruit punch mixed with something that reminds me of tonka beans must be the coffee note
*Smells self again* omg this should be illegal I get the citrus and lavendar but they don’t stand out more like blend in to create a fuller effect
Now I do smell the leather but like the other notes it doesn’t stand out and just blends in
The star of the show is the juicy fruit punch like cranberry the coffee and amber makes this smooth with their warming ad-libs while the other notes create a woody deep harmony

This perfume is very similar to polo red but more sweet thing around it that make me feel vomit sometimes and make me dizzy. I own both red and intense but i much prefer the original polo red morethan this.

After several samples, I bought a travel bottle of 30ml. It’s definately better than Polo Red Extreme, which I won’t be buying and it’s better than Polo Red which I had, liked, got compliments and finished the bottle, but did not re-buy. For me, Red Intense is the best of the Polo fragrances, followed by Red. Intense is a strong LIKE. However, it simply is not as good at my FAVORITES. When I narrow down my possible choices for any given day, Intense just doesn’t make the final two or three that I consider for any given day. I just don’t reach for this one. It’s good, but it is NOT a ‘go to’ fragrance for me. I have NO COMPLAINTS about this fragrance, it’s really good, but just not among the best that I have. I will enjoy this frag on occassion and will finish the travel bottle, but I won’t re-buy.

Polo Red Intense is the Eau de Parfum version of the Eau de Toilette which is the original Polo Red. I wear both atop each other meaning I layer both fragrances. When they merge the fragrance is fuller stronger and longer lasting, warm and wintery coffee and amber, spicy and leathery with a ah such an amazing aroma. The first Polo Red is a subtle scent, with barely any sillage and a tragically short life. What you want is Intense if you’re a guy who likes strong cologne and you’re a mature guy but who favors modern unisex scents or gourmands. Polo Red is not bad but it’s best applied as a base to another fragrance with similar notes or with this Intense edition which is the newest flanker.
The top notes are citrus courtesy of a lemon a tart lemon with a cranberry scent which is hard to miss. True to the color theme of ‘red’ this is a red cranberry juice, with a slick slightly aldehydic and powerful freshness. The opening is very masculine and quite strong, with classic lemon but with that unusual red berry note, adding a touch of sweetness which is later enhanced with juniper (not listed). The fruity top also consists of a blood red grapefruit. The grapefruit and cranberry mélange is most inviting and smells like when you catch whiffs of a Thanksgiving dinner table with cranberry and grapefruit. Not quite a dessert but as tempting. This is a holiday fragrance to my nose. Smells like something you want in the air around you from the Thanksgiving to Christmas period (late November through December) as you go out to social gatherings in the evenings when the weather is colder.
The middle stage of the frag is greenish with sage and herbal. There are spices and a saffron a spicy floral note and for me this part of the fragrance wears like a unisex Oriental. The Intense version really steps up the spices. Then one smells the warmth of a coffee note. While it is caffeine it has a dark red rum or spiked coffee scent, boozy, a cognac, and very satisfying and warm, hot even, with a balsamic note of amber. There’s red wood and this is a very polished and good wood scent, clean and similar to a skin scent. The dry stage is lacking musk and traditional male cologne ingredients (no patchouli vetiver or a lot of wood) but it is like I said modern. The fragrance has nothing of the old school era men’s cologne airs and though younger guys can wear this it has a maturity and an elegance that befits men of experience.
This is a good clean red scent to wear for the evenings in winter. Cozy and spicy like a scent of a café. In fact this is for me in the same league as Tom Ford Café Rose. The rose note in that one is supplanted by the saffron here and by something that is a bit aromatic like lavender. This can be worn to cafes and to restaurants for fancy dinners. It’s formal but not too conservative. It’s like a dress shirt slacks and blazer but no tie. It’s also great with a tweed jacket/suit.
A great purchase and I’m very satisfied with the service from sales ladies at the Macy’s in Times Square. Thank you for introducing me to this fragrance which I would have overlooked as an unnecessary flanker to the orignal Red. This is terrific and highly recommended if you like orignal Red and wished that it was stronger and fuller. This is Red with the volume up. One spritz is all you need with this baby. Outside of Macy’s this cologne is available on Amazon.com. Great for the holidays but not for summer. So I will have to wait and keep this in my bathroom until it’s late autumn.

I have to admit I hated the Nacho Figueras red polo adds where honestly he looked more like some race car driver than a polo player so stupidly I didnt smell the perfume, till my little brother came close to me to say hi, And wow!! What are you wearing? Polo red – he replied.
So I went and smelled them all and bought Polo Red Intense for my boyfriend… I find it sweet and spicey and with great longevity I love smelling his neck it stays on him the whole day!!
Perfect mixture between sweet and spice but still manly enough. I really love it.

To me this is an amazing fragrance, so much better than anything else i have tried from Ralph Lauren, it is in my top ten along with much more exclusive perfumes. This is a sweet, comforting and soothing fragrance to me, i cant pick out individual notes so much but the overall blend is excellent.

I own this cologne and love it. SO heavenly in my opinion. It opens with notable fruity and floral smell and could smell hint of ginger, cranberry, lavender etc. It is one of those colognes that makes you feel so refreshing. It feels like I am walking in a flower garden. It lasts 6+ hours and silage is great as well.
    A great cologne to have.

Just got my sample of this yesterday when I purchased the extreme version. I’ll be buying the actual bottle soon enough. Another gem from Ralph’s house, his entire red line screams sex, smelling amazing and enjoying life. Just picked up a full size bottle of this a few weeks ago from Macy’s
Scent:10 The creamy cranberry hits you instantly
    Longevity:8
    Sillage:7
    Unique/Industry First:6

It is such an incredible scent, I wanted to get a 2nd bottle. I ordered the 2nd bottle off Ebay May 4 2017, it was a tester with the cap in a white box with cellophane for $41.91 from Magicscents. The outer cellophane has an Arabic writing sticker on it, and the smell is somewhat different, not as sweet or as long lasting. About 95% sure the tester is fake, I’m still doing my due diligence, the seller hasn’t guaranteed me it’s 100% authentic, all they said was that no other buyers have complained and if I want I can return it. I’m currently dealing with the manufacturer to get to the bottom of this and see if they sell/supply testers with arablic writing stickers on the cellophane.

This is one of the best fragrance I have. I have 10 bottles and I would say that I really love this one. It’s best for office wear and Semi casual outfits
    Polo Red Intense
    Starts w/ a
Sweet cranberry scent somehow vanilla like
Coffee and leather is also present on the top notes
    Dries down w/ a
floral sweet musk which I kinda dislike
This perfume has a manly opening but a feminine drydown
still one of the best. Maybe they can work on the dry down and make it a bit more manly. more musk and and coffee
Sillage is 7 / 10 weak for a Eau de Parfum
    Projection 8 /10
    Scent 9 /10
    overall rating 8 / 10
    **Highly recommended

People always hate on fragrance projection and long lasting even if it,s a good fragrance they always has somthing to say. That it,s smells good it,s amazing it,s wonderfull but it does not las long or project…….let me say this straight polo red intense smells better than the original polo red …it,s jore stronger more devinded more smoother and more fruitier and more pronounced but they are like 80% same….polo red intense is a sweet fruty berry amber koffie smell ..whit bits of grapefruit and ginger in the backgroud……but the 4 tops note are berry koffie amber ginger…..its smells so amazing it also smell abit of gourmand in it because it,s sweet i also get chocolade smell in it which is delicious and the fruty cranberry is perfect…..smell 9/10 projecting 8/10 longlasting 8.5/10

Good and pleasant starting but really awful development.. the good sweet citrusy opening just lasts half an hour before an unpleasant scent of rotten fruits and poor quality coffee takes over.. Sabotage !!

@kevinbritton i believe you tried the Polo Red and not this Intense version. The Polo Red is very soft and doesn’t last long, but they did a great job on this Intense one.

I see some stating that there is a fruitiness to this grapefruit/cranberry type… and I get that as well. Not in a feminine way but a darker, condensed way.
Enjoyable for me, I’m about finished with mine and have gone this past month ( February ) with it. Definitely got compliments for it and people asking me about it from the younger crowd.
Enjoyable for me, but is it something to rush out for? Nah. Something to have for the cooler times? Sure.

Great scent, but I believe it has been reformulated. The one I have, lasts for a good 10 hours. I tried it the other day at Airport duty free and is was very weak and did not last more than an our.
    Update:
I did not test the old Polo Red, it was definitely Polo Red Intense. It may of been one of the bottles that should never of gotten to the shop floor.

a wonderful scent. very warm and cozy. but longevity lacks big time on me. better than polor red original but still fleeting projection and sillage. beautiful simple scent that is safe but smooth. i bought the 2.5 oz and im spraying so much it will be gone fast but kinda disgruntled that the “extreme” verison is coming out now!!!!! i feel hornswoggled into getting this fugazi so called “intense” because its for sure better than original in preformance but still struggle bus maybe 3 hours on my skin. The original smells better but it is basically pee water in terms of longevity……the intense is like pee water but with 30% more pee concentrate………overall im happy with intense just wished i had a TRUE EDP…….

Ralph Lauren Polo Red Intense is similar to the original Polo Red but it is expanded upon. One thing I don’t like about Polo Red Intense is the red velvet accord from Polo Red isn’t here. That is what I loved about Polo Red so for Polo Red Intense to not have it is a bit of a let down. Instead, I get an expanded upon Polo Red with more citrus and a bit more herbs than I get in the original. The coffee note I find is a bit more distinct on its own than it was in Polo Red as does the cranberry.
The performance is weird. I currently own a .5oz splash bottle but the projection at tops was what I experienced with Polo Red spray, a good moderate range though at first it did border heavy for about the first ten minutes despite being an eau de parfum compared to the original’s eau de toilette formulation. The longevity is where this scent shines. The scent lasts through a whole work-day and then some while the original only lasts about 6 tops. That is a huge plus for Red Intense. It projects about an hour and a half to two versus an hour.
Polo Red Intense is great for work and dating settings due to it being a gourmand and good enough to work in a suit and tie. Red Intense is not as strong as a use in different settings as Polo Red original is. Seasonality, this is only really a fall/winter scent due to the eau de parfum formulation.
While I do like Ralph Lauren Polo Red Intense, I honestly love the original more. To me the eau de parfum formulation is a bit weak to my nose (could be due to the splash) but I do like the coffee being more standalone. That said the red velvet accord I love in Polo Red is non-existent here. For these reasons, I give Polo Red Intense a 7.7 out of 10. There’s a start here but it went a little too far from Polo Red in my book.

it could have been perfect. the mix of cranberry and coffee is oddly very pleasant but the cranberry is too strong and takes over the other notes. more coffee and leather would have really helped to balance the fragrance out. as a result it comes off feminine and not in a black orchid mature feminine but a Jacqueline girl feminine.

I was minding my own business, shopping for clothes a couple of months back and was taken by surprise at a captivating scent i walked into. Had to go and find where it was coming from and discovered it was this that people had been spraying so i had to splash some more cash and get it. I like the opening a lot and it is a nice scent but the downside is that it doesn’t last very long unfortunately!

  54. :

    5 out of 5

Confused with this one. The performance is average, opening is synthetic and feminine, in the drydown I cant actually name a single note (not that it has no notes, they are just too mixed together and not well defined). But you know what? I like it! I enjoy the bubblegummy beginning while getting to the meeting place, I enjoy the confusing drydown I get when I arrive to the place. It is like if they mixed some random stuff together and it somehow worked.
However, the price tag on this one is INSANE!!! I like buying bargain gems that perform and smell great, but this is definitely not the case. The price tag on 125ml bottle is some 60€. They cant be serious! I bought a tester for some 30€ as the only difference is the color of the box it comes in (white instead of red) and I thought it was a pretty good deal.
Since then, I found out you can buy way better fragrances for half the price from Arabian houses…

I was wearing Polo Red Intense this morning and had a shower after the gym and sprayed on Valentino Uomo Intense. I was wearing the same sweater and I guess he t had both fragrances on it because I kept getting whiffs of them both together and it smelled really great. So, I decided to test it out just now and layered one spray of PRI with one of VUI and the result is amazing!! One of the best layering combos I have smellled! If you have both I suggest you give it a try!

Haven’t tried the original polo red, but comparing their notes which basically reverse of one another, and according to reviews this is an improvement. Scent is nice and unique. Sweet but dark, maybe because of its cranberry and coffee notes. How I wish projection and longevity were better, at least the same level with Polo Blue perhaps?

Not really what I was expecting. Still like the original polo red scent better. This one is still very nice. Darker, warmer, and more fruitier. It does last a lot longer than polo red. Projection was a little bit better, but not as heavy as I expected. Maybe I need to wait for colder weather so it can really shine through. Still an improvement though. Haven’t got any compliments like they say so far, but we’ll see when the weather here cools off.

I love this cologne. One of my favorites. I get a ton of compliments with this scent. Ladies do love this. I find 3-4 sprays last me 8-12 hours.
    Scent 9.5/10
    Projection 8/10
    Longevity 8.5/10
    Compliments 9/10
I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like this scent. Previous Polo red smelled great but didn’t last, this is great Overall 9/10

If you’re a fan of citrusy fragrances, look no further for your cold weather go-to.
Polo Red Intense starts off with notes of grapefruit and cranberry. Once it dries down a little, the warm, spicy ginger starts to come through.
It eventually calms down to a sophisticated woody scent with notes of cedar, but it doesn’t lose any of that sweet citrus.
My overall impression of this fragrance is “sugared grapefruit”, in a masculine way, of course.
It’s bright and fresh like a summer scent, but strongly anchored with wood and spice.
    Scent 8.5/10
    Sillage 9/10
    Longevity 8/10…Peace…

I really don’t see how this scent is so popular? Well, I do, but I don’t see how Calvin Klein IN2U wasn’t more poplar. It’s the same type of smell! With lemon, minus the kool-aid-esque cranberry, that is.
I purchased this scent for that reason, because I thought it would be a more “red” variation on that scent, and I was right, it is. Yet, even with it being an EDP, I was less than impressed with its longevity. I got 3 1/2 hours out of this one with both 5 sprays, and even 9! And to be honest, I didn’t care much for the cranberry.
Another cheapy with a similar smell is Rocawear Evolution, which I just bought for $11. Evolution is darker and more manly, thanks to the incense, and it has mango instead of the cranberry, with a bit of a darker, more boozy vibe. In my opinion, for what I wanted Polo Red Intense for, Rocawear Evolution is a direct replacement.
I’ll be sticking with my cheapies that give me the same type of smell. I just bought another 3.4oz bottle of IN2U for only $13, and a 3.4oz bottle of Rocawear Evolution for $11. Both of them last longer on me, for some reason, and although you might have to apply more sprays, it’s more than worth it for their price!
Shame. I really wanted to like this one. I DO like this one. I just wish it would last longer. I might cheat and purchase a fragrance oil clone of this one.

In 2013, the market met Polo Red for Men, which brought a new olfactory signature to the Polo fragrances line, bringing warm and vibrant accords, as the red color of its bottle. It stayed among the ten best-selling perfumes in the world, besides having conquered Fragrance of the Year and Consumer Choice awards.
In 2015, won its first variation, this time more intense and in Eau de Parfum concentration. Polo Red Intense for Men lives up to the name and deserves praise for the outcome, within the proposal. It is another one of those cases where the fragrance really is a stronger version of the original, respecting the DNA and showing more power.
It has notes of blood grapefruit (also know as ruby grapefruit), cranberries, lemon and red saffron, in the top of its composition. Then, in the body of the fragrance, notes of red ginger, roasted coffee, red root Sage and lavender. Finally, at the bottom of the olfactory pyramid, notes of amber, red cedar and leather.
If you compare both compositions, you will notice several notes in common, except for the fact that in this stronger version some of them changed their positions, as was the case of the saffron, which now gives more power, right in the output. The coffee also appears earlier in this version, making room for leather, which left the dry down stronger and long lasting.
The red color is still the inspiration of the man who wears th
