Description

Fig as a note is not available to the natural perfumer, so JK DeLapp set out to duplicate the scent of juicy, delicious ripe fig for this honeyed-wood composition.

Poisoned Fig by The Rising Phoenix Perfumery is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women. This is a new fragrance. Poisoned Fig was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is JK DeLapp. Top notes are yuzu, citruses and bergamot; middle notes are lavender, jasmine, nutmeg and allspice; base notes are tonka bean, vetiver, oakmoss, balsam fir and sandalwood. The fragrance is available in 4 ml glass bottles at parfum extrait concentration of 37%.

I’ve worn this twice, the first time I thought this would fit better to a man and found it rather herbaceous. The second time on a bit warmer day wearing it through all my dance and Yoga classes,it turns out sweeter and more floral. I can’t make out single notes very well in this, but Honeyed wood is a quite accurate description. I also get this impression of a breeze wafting to you, warm and sunny. For me this works definitely for warmer days (or with a lot of sweating action).
Hmmmm…the sillage is good and it lasts all day. Like the other scents from this house, a little goes a long way and I look forward to use it again from my sample. Thanks again to JK DeLapp.

I finally got my Poisoned Fig. This is something you do not see every day… its smell that strokes you like on hot summer day walking on the Adriatic beach and suddenly breeze brings you something so nice… you smell with full lungs and you know that smell will be gone in next 5-10 seconds and you cannot go to the fig tree to feel it again… it has to be right time, right temperature, right concentration of evaporated smell in the tree that wind brings to you and it’s gone in that moment… it shows up from time to time and on some special places but you cannot plan to smell it. It has to come to you. I tough it is not possible to capture in the bottle. Poisoned fig is let’s say able to picture it… not exactly replicate it but it clicks in my brain that note YES that’s it… it’s there… some smells are so challenging and this one has something special. I have tried every single fig my hands could get close to and this is for the first time it clicked.
