Description

Estee Lauder introduced (July 2010) a new fruity floral version of their iconic fragrance Pleasures, – Pleasures Bloom.

“We wanted to take the timeless core concept of pleasures – the enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures as the balance to a life that is often over connected and overextended – and express it with a new level of animation and vibrancy that reflects the world we live in today,” said Karyn Khoury, Senior Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development Worldwide, The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.

The notes of this fragrance are:

grapefruit, raspberry, lychee, violet flower
pink peony, rose, jasmine, green lily,
musk, patchouli, creamy vanilla. Pleasures Bloom arrives in a reinterpretation of the original flacon with a metallic cap decorated with a pink fuchsia flower, while the outer carton has floral pattern.

I was open minded about this and then pleasantly surprised. A very pretty, clean, well blended fruity floral, where the fruit (not tons of heavy berries, thank god, but a more refreshing combination) is in second place and complements the flowers. I much prefer this to the original Pleasures. This isn’t super strong either, it wears quite soft after an hour, so it’s an ideal office scent, pleasant and feminine. It’s not my usual, but it is very good. I could be persuaded into a FB just because it’s so pleasant and cheerful. Good stuff x

Smells delicious<3 Like the orginal, a bouquet of flowers – a walk in the garden. Really smells like real flowers!

Floral and creamy and the same time more fruity and sweet than the original Pleasures. Not in a bad way but I prefer the freshness of the mother fragrance.

Very feminine and beautiful rose note done right not overpowering. This smells wonderful all notes blend well together long staying power. No artificial smell non offensive just lovely floral scent. The dry down is a bit on the sweet side but not in a repulsive way.

My Goodness! Yes finally a Pleasures that is so delicious and so wearable. It’s everything u ever wanted from Pleasures original but without that “reedy resin” “stale expired” note that spoiled the original. I remember having to buy the pleasures body spray knock off back in the 1990’s to avoid that note. Welp….no more! ENTER Pleasures Bloom! My God this is just marvelous I will have to have this it’s a must have. I would say if u have the money and want a floral get this.

This is lovely. So florally, fresh and rosy. Very strong. Beautiful. Glorious.

Beautiful! Pleasures certainly do Bloom! It’s a gorgeous, delicate, sweet floral with delicious fruity notes – fresh and enticing. Very strong, but light, and fresh. An absolute pleasure, truly.
A lovely soft delightful bouquet of the most perfect gentle flowers, mixed with the sweet and tangy fruit, and smoothed and creamed by the patchouli, musk and vanilla. The base is so gently supportive – not heavy at all, and hardly noticeable really – the focus is always on the flowers and fruit.
The whole experience is one of pleasure, from beginning to end; and that’s a lovely long time on me, 13 hours and more, and the fragrance maintains the strength it begins with, virtually to the very end, only softening for a further couple of hours, which is very amazing for such a (deceptively) light scent.
There’s nothing harsh or soapy about it, just a delicate powdery/creaminess in the dry down, which I love completely. Very smooth.
It’s such a heavenly feminine perfume. I adore Pleasures too. Both of them are of my all time favourites, and I couldn’t possibly live without them. They both make me feel very happy and content.

    A bouquet of red flowers!
    A garden hugging my skin!
A spring walk in the bloomed fields!
Oh, my! Am I a poet?

Estee lauder perfumes are not easy to find in my town so I ordered bloom without a single test, and I knew that this is a risky blindbuy,I am a rose lover and a floral fan,but I don’t like florals like pink narciso(edp) and guerlain idylle,I’m also afraid of bitter very classic florals that don’t seem proper for my age(25)
But about pleasures bloom I can say that it’s absolutely gorgeous,it’s lovely and I love it more than what I’ve expected..it’s a real pink scent,a lovely pink spring/summer floral, but not a childish pink one,it’s ladylike but also youthful
Florals are not serious and bitter here, like classic florals, they are not candyish either, sweetness is delicate and just the right amount,I can feel a lovely combination of young, fresh blooming flowers, roses, peony and a little bit of violets,I love powdery fragrances and I can detect soft powderyness here, but really soft
Fruits just stand behind florals, make the scent colorful and cheerful
I also love it’s drydown, soft creamy florals with a hint of clean musk
It’s not a generic floralfruity, not a classic clean floral..it’s something between, very easy to love and wearable
It can be used as a daily spring/summer/even early fall perfume or you can just save it for special occasions like romantic dates,or your engagement or wedding day!
Pleasures bloom is a longlasting scent on my almost dry skin, and I’m really thankful about this, sillage is moderate, noticable for people around you
I even love pleasure’s simple bottle and now I’m looking forward to test other flankers and even other EL perfumes
Thanks god they didn’t have 1.7 oz bottle and sent me a 3.4 one
One of the best florals I own
Edit: it’s exactly what I wanted Guerlain Idylle to be.it’s like a more delicate, less sharp,,better balanced Idylle
It has also a lot in common with the original Pleasures, they’re like mother and daughter.it’s like a more youthful and modern, slightly sweeter and more fruity and easier to wear Pleasures
But the most similar perfume to Pleasures Bloom to my nose is Lancome Miracle So Magic.they’re like 90% similar, both lovely
    9/10

I’m not sure if this is just me, but when I apply a thin layer of baseline (for longevity) on my inner elbow and spray just the slightest bit of pleasures bloom, im hit by pepper and an almost incense like smell! Barely a hint of white flower. Spicy as can be which is so strange as it is not a note listed

My mum bought this for me and I stayed away as flowery and powdery aren’t really my thing. But about 20 minutes into it being on me, it turns into the musky, sandlewoody, apricot or lychee maybe, beautiful seductive scent. It smells especially good at the inner elbow joint. I suggest spraying it, then waiting half and hour before making up your mind, it might surprise you

A more modern peony and violet than the original Pleasures, but although I have difficulty with the more recent chemicals used for these, this is still a pleasant experience.
I think it would be a safe and welcome gift for the perfume timid of any age. I can’t give a very good description since trying it a while ago. Although I prefer the older type of formulations from EL, Pleasures Intense still speaks of good quality.
    Low sillage and longevity.

  14. :

My mom have this. I am not a fan of floral frag especially the one with rose as the note. The longevity is weak, it lasts for 2h or less and smell close to skin. I can’t even detect if it still there after a few hours.
And the price to get this $$$….NOT worth it!

I love the original Pleasures, it is one of my all time favourites…I do like this version, it is very floral, violet, lily and rose…with a little citrus.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

it’s a great perfume, it lasts, it is very special, I try to be careful using it, because it is so good, it also has a price which isn’t low…
It is very delicate, feminine, has a little sporty note. I could wear it all the time!

This is great, and just a slight more floral hit than the original. Love it, and would layer with Coco Mademoiselle (Pleasures on elbow and Coco and wrist).

I’ve just bought it. I sprayed and I felt it really like Idylle by Guerlain but it’s more lovely than Idylle. Idylle’s so elegant and mature. Pleasure Bloom’s fresh, lovely and super cute scent with floral notes. I love it

i’ve recently become a humanist, pitying my colleagues in the open-space, realizing how many hours they have spend together with my vanilla-apricot-citrus perfumes around (and i loooved spritzing every 2 hrs).
Now i am more thoughtful – so I tend to chose nice but close-to-skin perfumes.
This one is PERFECT. It’s sweet and clean and not ofensive, so it’a s perfect office frag! and as i wprk from 9 to 6, 5 days a week, this gives me a positive vibe pretty much all the time! 🙂

I got very high expectation after reading all the reviews, plus all the notes seem to be my favorite, too. I decided to walk into the counter. The sale person sprayed a little onto the sample sheet, it just smelled nice. So I asked to try on my wrist then I walked around for a while just to see how it dries down. It turned out very nasty and disgusting on my skin, it was like some rotten fruits mixed with an old rusty iron (Yes, it’s that bad!). I was so disappointed how my chemistry didn’t get along very well with the fragrance! Even more unfortunately, this perfume lasts effin’ long on my skin, too. It was still there when I came home and even after I took a shower!

I was given a bottle of this today 🙂 The first two words that came to mind were “pink” and “adorable”! Pleasures Bloom is incredibly fresh, and what I consider to be a perfect fragrance for Spring and the start of Summer. On me, it opened up with juicy, pink grapefruit (rather than yellow grapefruit). After the initial blast of that, I started to smell big, plump, fresh Lychees and strawberries followed by pink roses, blooming jasmine and violets! Every note I’ve listed seems to mesh together beautifully during the drydown and makes for an incredibly feminine, fun, fresh, “I’M HERE” type of fragrance. So to me, this will now be known as my ‘Pink Adorable’ scent which I look forward to wearing a lot, especially when the weather warms up here in Australia. I’m not normally a fan of Estee Lauder perfumes, and I really don’t care for the original Pleasures at all…but this is just gorgeous.

I just got it as a sample. It’s soft but it lasts. To me it smells like Tresor.

I find this scent, very grown up, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing it on a day to day basis. Just spray onto a cotton bud and dab around the ears, kneck and on the chest, this way it doesn’t becoming too cloying. Some days it stays on longer, on other days it just completely disappears after an hour or two. But still, a wonderful perfume.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

I got this scent because I thought I’d love it as much as I love the original one. I didn’t, though. I know that among the notes there’s no milk, cream or white chocolate…. but on me the dry down is absolutely milky… it might be the vanilla. The problem here is that I don’t like milk. I can get the violets and the peony but in the end the milky smell overpowers everything. I really, really wanted to tove this, but I just like it enough to wear it. I don’t think I’ll repurchase. 🙁

This is a present from a dear friend. I find it nice on its own but finds it quite ‘off’ on my skin. I finally realized that the grapefruit note which my skin reacted, is the main culprit. Fortunately, it did not turn bitter like other perfumes with grapefruit note. It turns me into a grapefruit sorbet and when the vanilla note comes in, I smell like a grapefruit-vanilla sweet! I think that this not the original intention of this perfume which is meant to be floral. It smells divinely floral on my friend but turn me into one big walking grapefruit.

  26. :

    3 out of 5

It is floral scent. Not that fruity, a bit more feminine – i love it!
Remind me of DKNY blossom scent, however, the jasmin & vanilla could probably differentiate both of these ‘blossoms’. Dkny a bit fresh while estee lauder almost gives a little musky scent. If u love floral scent, and feeling feminine and elegence at the same time, this is just as nice and sweet.
Probably less suitable for matured women that are 47 and above – whom may prefer a stronger, musky scent.

When I decided to buy this perfume it was because I was looking for a floral scent that reminded me of a perfume I had when I was in high school. This was the closest thing I could find to it, but really not that close. (One that I later found in Elizabeth Arden’s Pretty). It had a slightly powdery scent to it and was a bit harsh. I’ve since misplaced this perfume and while I wish I hadn’t lost it, I would not repurchase.

I forgot to say that I tried this last month & it was all about flowers. It smells like beautiful flowers after rain, so beautiful & way better than the original pleasures in my humble openion. I can’t describe the scent better cause I tried it on a haste.

If you love flower scents, this is for you! I love it. It`s fresh, flowery, sweet. I still think it`s more adult woman scent than teenagers. Today it`s cold winter morning here in north and first sprit on my wrist made me so happy and made me reminds the summer. I think this is a good work scent, sophisticated and womanly. I think it reminds me little bit SF Incanto dream, but this is not that sweet. Something similar I just don`t grasp what. I recommend highly! It`s stays over 6 hours!

I get a lot of lychee, peony and rose… its a floral fruity scent and I have to apply it with a heavy hand. Stays close to the skin and is very understated but young. Doesn’t overpower so its great for work. Lacks a certain presence though which I look for in perfume. So, its more of a palate cleanser 🙂

I tried this fragrance yesterday, I don’t generally like EL frags but I was thinking of someone else who loves them. Pleasures Bloom opens with a typical EL assault to the nostrils and I couldn’t discern much other than it was floral and had a powdery note. An hour later and my nose is still burning, the sillage is powerful and I’m sure everyone else in the post office can smell me. Since their nostrils were not exposed to the initial assault it probably smells quite nice to them.
A few more hours pass and it starts to smell nice on me, I thought I could smell roses and musk but that’s about all I could identify.
I think it is a nice floral, well rounded and not heavy. It should be a hit for Estee Lauder fans but I can’t endure the opening.

Mostly light pink peony fragrance. And the raspberry and lychee notes make this fragrance more pink:)
Not bad. Just not my cup of tea.

This smells creamy and expensive and like it’s just excellent quality. Reminds me of my teenage years for some reason. this scent is familiar to me, but why and how, I don’t know.. Not my sort of scent (anymore) but very good anyway 🙂
Edit. 3 hrs later and the scent is still there, and it’s getting a bit cloying.

On a recent trip to treat myself, I was offered another New Estee Lauder perfume. Not being one to follow the crowd, I asked about this fragrance sitting on the shelf. I am not a fruity fragrance girl, but this one really appealed to me. It was so floral and like a old fashioned cologne with a new twist – amazing new flower (not the usual rose) and amazing lasting power. Bought it at once. Any time I need a real floral kick or want to feel really girly instead of professional working woman, I wear this.

My male best friend bought this for me last summer and I have been in love with it ever since. It is youthful but not in a teenaged sense. It’s a light. fresh, sweet almost jubilantly carefree blast of fun in a bottle. It isn’t subtle in the least, it is a scent that projects and gets noticed. Granted that it does smell like a lot of other stuff out there but at the same time there is just something different about it to me and very distinct, for those of us who own it we can tell what it is when someone else is wearing it almost instantly, at least I and two of my other female friends who got bottles for themselves can. I think that it is sexy but not in a femme fatale kind of way but rather in a more fun flirtatious batting of the eyelashes kind of way. Great for everyday use and wonderful in warmer weather. Every time I wear it I get asked what I am wearing or i receive compliments on the scent from both men and women.

One day I run some perfume marathon, trying to discover a new frag for myself, without knowing what I was looking for. After some two hours (yeah :-D) of sritzing and sniffing, when no part of my arma didn’t get its scented treatment, the only thing I could still distinguish was Pleasures delight. So I bought it. But I won the battle! It was also how I learned that I like violet. It’s not an old-fashioned vi at all, because combined with the rose and peony it enhances the whole to a really good mood potion. It’s so bright as the pink flower they put on the bottle neck, I suppose pink peony. But not offending, as one would think about the colour. Happy pink, decent but somehow daring, smiling. It’s very springy, though I’ve chosen it in high summer. Yes, like a bunch of flowering pink peonies! Well, that all – good mood soul food

I have never tried it, but from the notes it seems that it should be one of my favourite fragrance! Most of my favourite notes are in this fragrance: citrus, muskus, vanilla… And flowery smells. And it seems it is quite soft, romantic, and not very sweet… I will try it as sonn as I get to! I really want to try it out…

  40. :

I am a huge fan of peony, but definitely not in this context.. I mean, the fragrance itself is pretty good – I would describe it as a ‘fresh floral’, but the problem is.. the lasting power. On me, it lasts A LOT and gets really overwhelming. I have a feeling it will strangle me!! 🙁 If there was an EDT version of this, it would definitely be mine! but not the Eau de Parfum. Sorry, but no, no, no….

Everything is perfect about this fragrance! Firstly, the smell is really delicious, soft and attractive! In addition I really like its design: a peony flower on the top!)

  44. :

I bought this, knowing that Estee Lauder’s fragrances are long-lasting and of high quality. I wanted something similar to Lancome’s Miracle, but longer lasting. And this smelled very similar to that with the opening of litchi in it. I, however, do like my perfumes a bit spicier than this composition. The grapefruit note lasts like 20 minutes and then it morphs into violets with peony and raspberry. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice, but the violets darken up the scent too much. I would rather there be more citrus to this one. This dries down a florally vanilla on me.

  45. :

Really nice, soft and girly fragrance. It’s not ‘in your face’ floral and it’s a wearable everyday perfume. I like it.

I think overall its such a pretty smell, in my opinion it smells somewhat powdery and delicate, theres definatly more floral then fruit i think. I bought my mum this for christmas and its a really sweet not too overpowering pretty fragrance, love it! x

I test at the counter today, but now I’m confused because I test it along with Pleasures. Pleasures Bloom closely resembles Pleasures with a little fruity in the beginning(a little sour). Then it reminds me of Pleasures Delight. I think Pleasures collections (excluding Pleasures Exotic) smell the same, but the scent is nice and feminine anyway.

  48. :

    5 out of 5

    Hmmm…more like Pleasures Blah.
It opens up rather generically citrus/floral. I caught a fast glimpse of grass. I was hoping that the grass would stick around but it was here and gone. Then it was a floral bugspray, and the drydown…complete Pink Lemonade. Really. Pink Lemonade.
C’mon Estee Lauder, I KNOW you have better than this!

My favorite Estee Lauder Pleasures is Delight, but this one is next in line. Smells fabulous. It smells the closest to the original Pleasures for Women but so much better. I love this one. Sprayed one spritz on myself in Macys and then had to have it. Too good not to get I think

I am also in LOVE with this fragrance right now. My olfactory senses are itching for fruity florals this time of year, and so I’ve added a few more fragrances to my collection in just the past month! This is similar to both Ralph Lauren Romance and Lancome Miracle. The grapfruit is so beautiful when you first spray it on and a few minutes later I can smell the raspberry and litchi which adds a sweetness and after a while it dries down to this beautiful floral composition. Well-done, with pretty good staying power.

I try it last September, but only now I feel like to write a review here. As much as I love the original version of Pleasures, I do expected something from this perfume as well. After I got my test paper strip, I try to wave the paper in front of me so I don’t get shock if I directly smell it. Then I got high pitch of sweet floral and fruity notes. It really please me. Very summery perfume.
The perfume start with burst of floral and fruity notes that really catchy. Really blooming, the name really suggest something from inside the bottle. The flower ribbon on the bottle neck also telling me “I’m blooming”. I’m not good as describe from the notes because I do enjoy perfume as a scent – it’s a mix from lots essential oil and what I need to know is whether I like it, or hate it.
The perfume make me feel clean, fresh and very ‘vibrant’ kinda feeling. It’s on my list for my next perfume purchase. But I need to finish the perfume that I don’t like first.LOL…

Nothing to do with the original Pleasures. This one is very sweet, all I could detect was white chocolate, cotton candy, pink marshmallows and peony. It’s not bad, but it falls into the category of the headache inducers for me.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

similar to original pleasures. very common-scent and very ‘safe’

  54. :

    5 out of 5

This fragrance is a little similar to the original Pleasures, however it is a tad fruitier and not as soapy.
Opening with lively fruits and citrus, Pleasures Bloom is perfect for those hot Summer days. Pretty and feminine, this fragrance is relatively strong like most Estee Lauder scents are.
Despite my respect for the brand, Estee Lauder’s scents have something about them that grates on my nerves. Although I find most of their fragrances pleasant enough, they smell ‘plasticky’ to me. Pleasures Bloom is guilty of this strange synthetic note that allows me detect an Estee Lauder scent from miles away.
Disregarding my dislike of the way in which Estee Lauder’s fragrances are constructed, this is a very pleasant balance of fruits and flowers. In terms of packaging, I’ve always liked the bottle design for the Pleasures bottles, however the strange fabric flower around the neck of the bottle is just odd and looks cheaply made.
My guess is that this fragrance is intended to appeal to a younger generation as well as the established Pleasures fans. In my opinion, Pleasures Bloom caters to both.
The lasting power and the sillage are both excellent, as can be expected from this brand. If you had no problems with the way Pleasures smelt, you may possibly enjoy this newer, fruitier creation.

I tried this today and it’s so nice. Not outstanding by any means but one you’ll want even if you have 30 other florals. I don’t smell the fruity part at all but I suppose it’s what keeps this from being a huge stuffy bouquet of the same ol’ same ol’. So consider this an UNstuffed floral! lol I think you surely would use this bottle up sooner than later. Great present for someone who wears that moldy old scent that makes you dread to inhale your very first step within 40 feet of them!

got a test on paper today without intent. They gave away sampels on sticks to people passing by.
it made me think of R L Romance… could’t compare then and there and see if that was the case. But I guess this can be popular by Romance lovers. But what do I know …
I have no experiences of this Pleasures-line by E.Lauder. Maybe I should get some?

I bought it yesterday, tried the sample, sprayed it on my wrist and was hooked! I love it and had to buy it, I could wear this sexy fragrance everyday! The dry down is amazing! Starts out fruity and ends with a sexy flirty musk that lingers all day into the night. I really like this one. I’ve been told several times you smell really good. Fruity, Lush, Playful, Clean, Sexy Floral. Smells really good in hot weather but could be worn anytime of the year to me.

I tried this and it smelled like raspberries. What could be more July than the scent of fresh raspberries ? I think this is a good summer fragrance with the fruit and not too heavy scent.

  60. :

    4 out of 5

I have never been a huge fan of the original Pleasures or any of its subsequent flankers, but a friend of mine was able to get me a few samples of this before it was released and I loved it instantly.
There is nothing subtle about it – it is definitely a very bright, energetic experience that errs more toward the floral than the fruity. However, the fruit notes that are present give the floral notes a boost and a hint of sweetness without being over the top. There is nothing sticky, cloying, or candy-like here.
This fragrance is extremely fresh, youthful, clean, and perfect for the hot months of summer, especially for those of us who live in really humid climates.
As of today, a 3.4 oz. bottle of Pleasures Bloom has been added to my perfume wardrobe – the very first Estee Lauder fragrance to make the cut!
