I was lucky to find it at GUM and prefered this over “Carmen – Le bolshoi”.
Take the classic “Guerlinade” and engulf it in flowery sweetness.
Heliotrope, violet, jasmine, a touch of orange blossom and lovely underlying musk, this is a modern twist on the excellent Guerlain’s oldies.
I own Apres L’Ondee and indeed they are not the same – ALO is powdery and flowery and tender, kind of “blue”. Place Rouge is slightly more boisterous, sweet and even a tad artificial, but I love it very very much – you can’t help but feeling festive and elegant while wearing it.
Yes, it’s probably meant to be a crowd pleaser, but that doesn’t prevent it from being unique and pampering.
Very happy with this olfactory jewel 🙂

My Sacks doesn’t have it. I want all inspired by MArie Antoniette.

Well, I was rather disappointed… It is said to be a perfume version of Après L’Ondée (given that it is just a reissue of Quand Vient La Pluie), but what I found was rather synthetic sweet smell with a bit of taste of Après L’Ondée. I have the vintage bottle of the extrait of ALO, it has really few to do.. It also reminded me Tonka Imperiale and some remainings of Petite Robe Noire. The green grassy part of ALO is absent altogether. Though longetivity is very good but again conditionally that one cares for just another smell in the direction of robe noire, miss dior cherie or coco mademoiselle.. The current ALO is infinitely more classy and lovely.
