I did not like this one at all. On me it was oddly floral and powdery smelling, very perfumey, kind of “mature” in an unpleasant way. A friend said I smelled like hairspray. 🙁 It’s strange because every other Alkemia honey, amber, or vanilla I’ve tried has been great on me. Maybe Alkemia’s tonka does weird things on my skin?

I’m faintly anosmic to many musks, which unfortunately seems to affect this fragrance on me. I was hoping for a honey note, but I’m mostly getting a faintly smoky, woody, rather dry amber. Not unpleasant, but odd and faintly unbalanced-seeming. I suspect it would be perfect on someone with different body chemistry, but if you have trouble with musk notes, approach with care.

This was a blind buy and one I was nervous about because I generally don’t love gourmand but I was so pleased I took the risk.
The opening of this is VERY different to how is continues. It is pure gourmand at the beginning, total honey-almond nougat, much like standing is a sweet shop that actually makes nougat. After half an hour or so, progresses to lightly skanky honeyied vanilla and finally finishes with honey musk. It lasts and lasts, probably one of the longest last Alkemias. It’s never overly loud and remains a decent, medium volume till right near the end. Despite the skankiness, it’s pretty inoffensive and calming. I’d be surprised if anyone was headache triggered by this scent.

What a perfect description TeeTeeRarr! “Sexy, skanky, and spiritual all at the same time”. This is not a sickeningly sweet gourmand. In fact, it’s one of the first sweet scents I truly loved. I swear I smell a bit of chocolate in here too. It truly is a magical potion.

Sexy, skanky AND spiritual all at once! What a combination to pull off. The honey is very fresh, complete with a slightly skanky edge to it that keeps it from being sickly sweet. This combined with the amber, vanilla and dry tonka beans somehow give off a meditative and sexy vibe at the same time. This is my favourite scent from Alkemia. Delicious, soothing, skanky!
