I love this parfum… Not so fancy nor expensive, but the best parfüme I ever had! I felt it once in my teen ages, but I was not able to find the scent for years, but I’ve never forgot it! When I have found it after 8 years, you can imagine how happy I was.. So wear it, love it! 10/10

EDIT: I have found a seller on Ebay that sells it also for a few bucks. I will surely rebuy this gem in the future!
I owned this fragrance when I was 11, in 2007. This scent was beyond lovely and very cheap. I remember it very simple, yet elegant. Fruity and flowery, yet fresh. It was also very versatile. I used it in every season without any problems, beacuse its freshness appealed both to the cold and hot weather. Flowery in spring and creamy in fall. I am sure it is discontinued, since I can’t find it anywhere. I hope to find something similar in the future.

This fragrance is like a piece of art, when i smell it, immediately i have a feeling of softness and peace, it’s wonderful! about the fragrance, when you spray it at the beginning it’s a little citrus with bergamot and something like lemon, then it lends a beautiful soft but strong sillage of citrus- frutal smell on your skin with black currant and freesia, about longevity is really good, about 8 hours. I highly recommend to try this one because it’s unique.

Perfect choise for the spring/summer season. Modarate longevity I definetely would wear it again if I find it…

I absolutely love it!!! It was my signature scent in my teens – the most innocent and clean scent I’ve ever smelled. I missed it for a long time, fortunately it’s available again. A great selection of notes by Ulric de Varens. It opens up with a blast of bergamot, which for the first 5 seconds is a little bit sharp to my nose, but then it comes the freesia and the beautiful journey begins – fields of soothing tea, walks through gardens with lily, magnolia, peony…And last but not least, the forest fruits, which are so tasty on my skin.
The longevity of this frag is phenomenal for its price.

To all Rue Pergolese lovers: good news! I think I’ve finally found the (more expensive) alter ego of this beloved, but unfortunately discontinued fragrance.
It is Trussardi – A Way for Her. It has the same fresh and powdery elegance of freesia and white/green notes, especially 10-15 min after application, and I would say it encapsulates 85% of the fairy magic Rue Pergolese had. Meaning it gets remarkably close.
Rue Pergolese was my signature scent in college but it was discontinued. Such a pity. Such a lovely character and great value for money.

Just bought 2 bottles on ebay.de It is a lovely fragrance (just as I remembered it from 90s). Bold freesia and bergamot fade away quickly giving place to lily, magnolia and tea. All that time you can still smell zesty black currant. It’s a feminine, warm and energizing fragrance. Not sweet but still very fresh. Easy to wear – ideal for spring or summer! 🙂

I have a small amount of this (about 15-20ml in a 50ml bottle) which was given to me by my mother-in-law as she said she was getting tired of the scent.
I actually cannot stand the smell from the bottle (too much alcohol), but it’s quite different when I spray it on my wrist. The first thing I feel is definitely the black currant, mixed with citrus and green tea notes – definitely a rather sharp, spicy smell. The spicyness does dry down quite soon though, leaving a softer floral background which still has the currant notes, only they become a tiny bit sweeter and not as spicy. It’s really interesting how this fragrance develops so rapidly, with all these different notes coming out one by one.
Although I know the rose isn’t there – I do believe I smell it! However, that could just be me confusing it with the lily and freesia, as I’m not very good with defining different flower scents.
Some minutes later – surprise – the tea makes an appearance once again! This time it’s warmer, softer, mixed with the florals and musk, but still a fresh, spring-like scent, a definite yes for those cooler spring/early summer days or evenings when you just need that little bit of warmness to compensate for the light chill.
I must say this perfume is elegant, classical – even if a tiny bit old fashion. It should sit on the same shelf with classical scents like Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue, Laura Biagiotti Venezia.
Although it’s an interesting perfume, I tried wearing it a few times – it’s not for me. I would be happy to share or swap this with someone in Sweden.

I understand this perfume is discontinued….I have been searching for it for years! no luck! but does anyone know of a perfume with a similar scent…i know nothing would be exact but at least something as good as this stuff? I think it should come on the market again for a short period and give everone who posted on this perfume a gigantic bottle!

There is still something a little bit magical in this perfume. It was one of my first eau de parfums which I bought with my saved pocket money when I was still in a school. It is somehow hard to discribe this, I would say, peculiar smell, that make you feel special, which is a very complimentary for such a nonexpensive perfume. It is softly enclosing you in a mild, white and smooth linen with some fresh breeze of spring mood. Especially soft and a little bit powdery scent for the watery spring. You really can’t compere this to any other. And the exquisite bottle is a perfect artefact and symbol of 90ties.

I used this perfume in my early 20’s and it was my favorite, I loved it’s freshness, it was a period when I was obsessed with all things french, so when I wore it I used to close my eyes and imagine myself wandering through parisian flea markets on a warm April day:)I’m in my late 30’s now(I still love many things french),I don’t have this perfume any more but looking at the picture above I remember how the bottle felt in my hand and I vividly recall its scent! Mon Dieu!:)

As i remember smell is very gentle and powderly. After using it i felt some kind of softness and warm around me but no sweetness.MAybe a little bitter at the beginning. It is rare smell which leaved my skin very carefully, not note by note but as a whole composition, more gentle as time was passing. My first bottle of fragrance when i was about 16 !!!:)

My mother used to have this as her signature fragrance, so everytime I think about Rue Pergolese, I always remember her. It’s a really fruity fragrance with a lovely bottle. It can still be easily found in some retail stores in Brazil; you just have to search.
    Highly recommended.
