as much as i hope that i’m gonna love this beautifully sound fragrance, i must say that Peony & Blush Suede isn’t for me.
tbh in my imagination when i bought this (it was a blind buy btw), it will be like L’occitane Pivoine Flora. ugh, this one is way far than that.
i dont get the apple and jasmine at all, and i’m quite sure that there’s no rose either in this. however, i never smell carnation before so i dont know how carnation smells like. what i get from the very beginning to the end is only strong dry flowers (like the ones you smell in hand made greeting card or letter/paper). too strong to triggered my migraine

I feel more apple and suede. My hopes were on peony.

I do not like peony notes, so I always gave this a wide berth at the Jo Malone counter. But recently was given a couple samples (“two samples, yay. Oh, this. And another one also? duh…”) and finally took my time to try it. And surprisingly I like it a lot. It’s very balanced all throughout, the peony is there right at the beginning, the suede (leather, maybe, I can’t really distinguish suede from leather) gives it a certain weight. And fragrantica database is so useful, so it is carnation right there in the drydown, that is the source of that spicy-ness. Rose also in the dry-down.
A very interesting, very balanced fragrance.

I can’t stop sniffing my arm when I wear this. To me Peony & Blush Suede is perhaps a little slightly intoxicating, but not in a ‘boozy’ scent, if that makes sense. One of the more feminine frag’s from the Malone lineup, which typically tend to lean unisex.
To my nose this is a hint of sweetness with a little fruitiness detected in the background, and the suede and rose cleverly balancing this out, keeping this from smelling too sweet nor distinctly “fruity”. The suede lends a warmth, a comforting vibe. And the suede definitely comes out more on the dry down, taking away a little of the soft sweetness. The peony lends a freshness here to my nose/on my skin. I love this one. However, in keeping with the seeming typical Malone tradition, soft sillage and not good on longevity. But I still love this one and can’t stop smelling my arms when I wear this.
    L❤️ve.

I had such high hopes when i ordered a small decant of this perfume….i was deeply disappointed. It smells synthetic to me….the search goes on….

This was my first ever JML fragrance and I love peonies. But this particular perfume gives me nothing but headache!
It must be the suede I guess because I wear other peony perfumes and I love them. I tried layering this perfume with JML English Pear and Freesia, and the suede completely overpowered all the floral notes and I ended up smelling like poo. To top it all I bought the 100ml bottle…ughh !!

Thinking about the Peony & Blush Suede is strikingly, achingly elegant..The smell is longevity and smell like some lady lipstick! In my opinion a nice spring, summer floral. Bridal fragrance.

I avoided this scent for a long time for two reason. First, I usually can’t stand peony and second, it’s often recommended as a bridal scent. I’m not much of a fan of ladylike and pure scents. However, I was in Nordstrom naming off some of my favorite fragrances to the SA and she insisted I should try this one because she thought I would like it. I politely let her spray it on a card and sniffed it. My eyes widened with surprise. I can not for the life of me imagine why a bride would want to smell like this, lol!
It’s a very dry, strong suede fragrance to my nose with a lovely mature floral background which doesn’t smell much like peony at all. There’s a crispness to it as well and while it’s not sugary sweet the edges are softened. To me it smells like what I think a powerful women who has it all together should smell like. In fact, I think my favorite aunt might have worn this and she’s the head of the entire health department in a major metropolitan city. She’s in her early 60’s and still gorgeous with dark black hair with a silver streak on one side and exotic almond eyes. To this day men still plead for her to marry them. Once when she visited me my handsome 30 and 40 year old friends were mesmerized by her. She doesn’t need men though. She dates but is happy with her life the way it is. She’s not a cold person but she’s practical and commanding. The one the family calls when something important and maybe unpleasant needs to be done. However, when you really know her you find out she’s actually quite loving and when she smiles her eyes light up like stars. She is happiest on sunny New England days sitting on a beach dune staring out at the ocean, lost in her thoughts.
This is the woman I imagine this fragrance for and I doused myself in it because I’m not her…yet, but at least I can smell like her! A sueded and mature floral with an almost unapproachable elegance…almost.

Had high expectations as obsessed with peonies, but still not that peony i’m looking for..this isnot a peony you can smell while sniffing the real flower. It’s nice, simple flower smell with quite good staying power

This is a truly beautiful scent that I find perfect for everyday, special occasions, and I can imagine for a bride on her special day. It is a very feminine but not overtly sweet fragrance with enough sophistication but still very approachable and warm. Upon the first application, it smells like candied apples but not sugary or too sweet – just perfect. Then the peony and florals come out to pay – again it’s not heady but a very lovely cloud of peony petals. I think peony and rose are the main florals here, and can barely detect the jasmine. I’m not sure what suede smells like, but towards the end the scent definitely has a clean skin kind of quality which makes it very comforting and lovely to wear. For me, the sillage and longevity are excellent, although I’m not the type that likes my fragrance to enter a room before I do.
Overall, this is a very beautiful fragrance. It can lean both summer/spring and fall/winter – in the spring it pairs perfectly with a beautiful white sundress and in the fall it reminds me of blush cashmere. It is also lovely layered with Jo Malone’s Myrrh and Tonka to give it extra warmth and richness.

One of my more sophisticated scents in my collection. Very floral with a musk and is not as heavy on the scent. Doesn’t last as long as it is a cologne and quite pricey. I love that you can buy the travel bottle so you can take it with you to top up. Love this and one of my favourites in my fragrance collection.
Edit: When I paired this with the Blackberry & Bay, another fragrance from Jo Malone, the composition from both fragrances transforms the scents into a more woody and spicy and the floral notes more heavier but captivating and definitely to wear in the evening.

So far this is one of my favorites in Jo Malone fragrances. It smells very sophisticated but for an older or middle aged women.

I love peonies and think this is pleasant enough. My BF says this smells like the color light pink – oddly specific. I agree it’s for a true girly girl. A sophisticated one perhaps.

  14. :

    5 out of 5

There is an edge of spice from the suede, giving it that sophisticated sense. This perfume is gorgeously floral, the apple scent strong in the top, serving up a simple and slightly sweet corner. It is light and clear and powdery.

  15. :

    4 out of 5

Well, the beauty is in the eye (or nose for that matter) of the beholder. I have a sensitive nose and hate too “synthetically” smelling perfumes (mind that almost every perfume that we own is purely synthetic).
However, I do find this particular cologne to be pleasant and harmonious. Apple, peony and suede, with a light aquatic accord. Smells simple and just… good, this is exactly what I would expect from Jo Malone, sold out to EL or not 🙂 I don’t see Christine Nagel creating a mess anyway, but this is my nose which is sending positive signals to my brain. Yumm, fresh apples… a new purse… Something like that.
This is my feel good, easy going scent.

  16. :

    5 out of 5

I used to work for Jo Malone creative, and I hate to deride them, but their absolute worst, most horrific (and of course one of their best selling) fragrances is this monstrous overdose of musks and poorly worked out accords. The ‘suede’ and ‘apple’ notes just read as a single, cloying, sickly sweet note that is as tenacious as it is nauseating, and there is no peony scent anywhere. I find this particular scent baffling since Christine Nagel did it, and she has done a large number of their good scents. I can only attribute it to poor creative direction, and they have that in staves at Estee Lauder.
Any time we ran promos and scent strip ads for this fragrance I had to wear a face mask. If you want something lovely and unpretentious from JML, try their Red Roses, Blackberry and Bay, or one of their garden fragrances from a couple years ago, like Sorrel and Lemon Thyme.
Another side note, steer well clear of their ‘high end’ line, called Rare Teas…some of the most preposterous conceits in all of tea-themed perfumery, which is saying something. Bitter, musk-laden garbage in a series of gigantic bottles that completely perverts the beautiful, delicate nature of the teas they are purported to be inspired by.

Spring in a bottle!Lovely flowers and some freshness… I don’t feel suede there, maybe just for a minute in dry down.
Not the smell after the rain but beautiful flowers on the balcony on a sunny day. Peonies smell always elegant to me.

  18. :

Peony & Blush Suede is strikingly, achingly elegant. I’m struggling to find the right words to describe its clean, high-end clarity. Ever so slightly bracing, with very little sweetness but NOT lacking sweetness; it’s better off without it. Very feminine, I find it to be mainly about the peony with the lovely, dry suede just prominent enough to add plenty of interest. THE light floral fragrance for warm weather.

This was my first Jo Malone fragrance and my favorite. I bought it on the run, whisking through the airport in Dubai. I am so glad I bought it. I have been through 3 bottles this year. Such a beautiful scent. It’s romantic and nostalgic. Lasts long on me and when it settles I get a lovely floral and suede smell. Just lovely.

oh lala if you layer this with pomegranate noir it becomes a beautiful warm winter scent, rich and velvety. Wow I want to eat my arm where I experimented hh

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Very floral from the start. There is a light freshness keeping this on the edge and preventing it from becoming your typical heady headache inducing floral.
Unfortunately my brain categorises it in the group of the “nothing original here” fragrances.
Pleasant, but not so much that I would ever want to smell like this. Can’t detect any leather.
It becomes more and more pleasant as time goes by and the scent smells rounder and more balanced.

I smell nothing sweet, flowery or girly in this at all after about five seconds. In fact, it ends up smelling butch to me, although that can be interesting and intriguing in itself, of course; it just does not suit me particularly. I can’t imagine a bride wanting to smell like this on her special day!

This particular Jo Malone I experienced when a kind sales assistant (see Tammy if you’re ever at David Jones, Melbourne) gave me a sample when I was picking up my second scent from them (English Oak & Hazelnut) and she suggested layering. Now, I’ve not yet tried this by itself yet but on top of E.O& H, it smells AMAZING.
The peony in this is so beautiful, paired next to the woodiness of english oak and the suede seems to be amplified. It’s so beautiful and enjoyable… might need to get it next. Perfect for Spring!

Peony is a tricky note to wear when it comes to my skin chemistry. Quite often this floral accord will turn sour and sharp when in contact with my skin, despite it smelling pretty and flowery on a paper strip. Thankfully the peony note in Jo Malone’s Peony & Blush Suede does not turn on me and maintains much of its prettiness even after a few hours of wear.
The peony note in this composition is quite powdery and soft all thanks to the smooth suede accord which grounds the scent considerably. I expected this fragrance to smell slightly masculine, along the same lines as Hermes Kelly Caleche and Bottega Veneta EDP. Since testing this fragrance I have found that the suede accord is a lot less harsh than a leather accord, and as a result Peony & Blush Suede smells very feminine and romantic.
I was curious about trying Peony & Blush Suede when I heard that it was Jo Malone’s most popular scent for a bride on her wedding day. As a soon-to-be bride myself, I thought it worthwhile to visit my local Jo Malone counter to see if this fragrance could be all that I was looking for.
In terms of peony scents, Peony & Blush Suede is definitely one of my favourite interpretations of this floral note. It is one of the very few peony dominant scents I can wear. It doesn’t quite meet my requirements as a bridal scent, but I can certainly see why some brides would choose to wear it. I may re-visit this fragrance however if I decide to test some layering combos whilst at the Jo Malone counter in future.

Peony & Blush Suede by Jo Malone London smells of fresh peony blossoms, powdery-soft suede, and crisply sweet apples. I love that Jo Malone’s colognes smell exactly like what they are named – very straight forward, simple scents that are expertly blended as the notes complement each other so well! I have always been tentative of suede notes in perfumes as it can change drastically on your skin from start to finish, but the balance of the floral and suede notes is bridged nicely with the apple as it is very subtle. I feel like since Jo Malone hit Sephora this fragrance has skyrocketed in popularity with Peony & Blush Suede becoming the Coco Mademoiselle of the Jo Malone line. It smells very elegant and refined which makes it great for women as it is youthful, trendy, and tres chic!

Such a beautiful every day scent. Very inoffensive, easy to wear. It’s a staple of mine.

I agree that it smells like old fashioned tinned sweeties. I adore this for Spring and Summer. Youthful but not too sweet, just floral and lovely. A classic scent that smells expensive.

Soft and sweet floral scent for a young woman.

  29. :

I don’t pick up the suede at all. I do get an aldehydic opening, and something fruity perfectly blended with some musky florals I can’t distinguish. I’m not sure if it is the peony cuz I don’t know what that smells like. It’s very well blended resulting a very nice, pretty, youthful, feminine, likeable, casual, and easy to wear fragrance.
    7/10

I find this to be in the same family as classic soap floral such as Coco Mademoiselle, Dior Blooming Bouquet, J’adore Lumiere. It is very floral. Very feminine if you are into this type of classic feminine, floral scent. It has a young feel to it, but you cannot escape the maturity smell of classic red floral.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

Not your mothers peony, that’s for sure. It’s a soft, not in your face floral. Quietly turns into “that girl” who wore the leather skirt and chiffon ruffle top in the 1980’s. You all knew her. Badass leather with a ladylike top. Can a bride (that’s who it’s recommended to) wear it? Sure. But with a leather garter underneath that white dress. It’s a decent blind buy. Easy to wear. Go for it!!

  32. :

    5 out of 5

This is not a sweet pink. It’s not in the vein of Flowerbomb, Jimmy Choo, Valentina, Mon Guerlain, Fantasy, etc. It is barely sweet at all. For a few minutes there’s a mild sweetness from the crisp red apple – then it is gone. Do not judge Peony & Blush Suede with other “pink” fragrances – it deserves a different category. Think of it as a non-sweet pink. Think of it as smelling like fresh flowers unadulterated.
Depending on which mood I’m in, the peony either comes out loud and strong, or not at all. When I can smell it, I find this perfume to be a pretty, feminine concoction that is not immature but smells like (and is) an expensive, complex floral. It shifts between light pink and baby blue in my mind. Which is an odd effect that played upon me so much that I had to buy a full bottle.
When I can’t smell the peony, this whole fragrance seems bland, generic-flowery and slightly aquatic. I think I can detect a hint of calone (synthetic melon), similar to the composition Wild Bluebell. I pick up suede on these occasions too – I’m not sure how – it must be a funny note to capture in perfumery. Maybe suede is one of those imaginary notes, like orchid, which technically doesn’t have a smell? I am less impressed with Peony & Blush Suede when I can’t pick up any peony. But that is not a fault with the perfume… I think that after I have been on a bender of orientals I am desensitized to delicate florals like this.

  33. :

    4 out of 5

This smells of flowers, evoking sort of cottage garden feel. It’s flowery, not floral, if it makes sense. It’s doing what it is doing very well, and it has incredible longevity which I wish fragrances I actually would like to smell of had.
Which takes me neatly to the issue: I don’t want to smell of flowers. Or fruit (there si fruit here too, and sweet fruit it is). Flowers should smell of flowers. Gardens should smell of flowers. Orchards could smell of flowers too. But people shouldn’t really, in my mind, not really.
So, its’ very good and I hate it – scrubbed my wrists after few hours of wear.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Fruity, floral, sweet, powdery, sort of a modern 50’s-60’s girly perfume to wear to the hop. Starts off with a delicious juicy red apple. I wish this had a matching body lotion or shower gel. The red apple note is sweet and fresh, harmonizing with the florals. The big floral note here is the peony, my favorite pink flower. The peony can smell like rose in perfumery as a note so it’s well blended with rose and plus a carnation. The white floral note of jasmine keeps it in a floral realm but it’s not big and flowery either, not mature. In fact this is so youthful and so girlish that it’s like a Paris Hilton or Victoria Secret perfume. The scent lingers on with a very candied sweetness before it gets into a dry base of some musk and lots of elegant suede and leather. I wish it lasted longer but I don’t mind reapplying. A spring time perfume to wear out on dates, and to events where I want to smell good but not necessarily making a statement. Feminine, sweet and irresistible. I get tons of compliments on it and you will too.

This is pretty and girly. To me, it smells like a old fashioned pastel candy, the kind that were sold in tins, and sat by grandmother’s bedside on her nightstand. I get some peony, but not the glorious grandiflora scent of peonies in June. It is more of a soft powdery peony, owing to the suede note, and possibly the apple. I like this, and think it would go well with an airy, flowing dress. Those who said this is a wedding scent, you are exactly right!

  36. :

    3 out of 5

This is really pretty, definitely not something I’d naturally gravitate to based on the description alone but that I actually do find myself enjoying for special occasions. It does capture peony really well. I will say until I landed on this page I actually had no idea apple was meant to be a note in this – I can’t say I have picked up on that at all. To me its really a sweet peony scent, very feminine and floral. Definitely agree with some of the other posts recommending it as a bridal scent, it really would be perfect for that. Something I’d bring out for dates or special occasions when I want to feel pretty and girly, but a little bit too much so for me for an everyday perfume.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

I have wanted this perfume for the longest time, and I finally got it on a recent trip to Chicago! I absolutely love how this smells. It is floral, but the suede gives it a slight edge that makes it so much more interesting. It isn’t a childish floral, and it isn’t overly sweet. Don’t get me wrong; I love Daisy and wear it often, but this perfume is more mature while still being sweet and youthful.

  38. :

    3 out of 5

The only words that I can think of to describe this fragrance is pleasantly complicated… I know that odd, but stay with me. The dry down of this perfume is well worth the wait if you aren’t fond of the initial spray. Initially, you smell the strong floral notes, and it can be a little overpowering. However, the florals are blended very well, and its hard to pick out just one at a time. As the fragrance dries down, you start to get the sweet apple smell and the florals mellow down. Also, the leather note really warms the florals and helps the fragrance to melt into the skin. I was skeptical of this fragrance, but it is really lovely. I love this with English Pear & Freesia, and Wild Bluebell from the line.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

This one is very soft, hence the suede. Don’t get much of the apple, and the peony is dulled down so that its not too floral. Pleasant springy scent. I don’t feel very romantic though, not like when I wear the Gucci Envy Me. If I had to compare peony fragrances, love the Envy Me much much more.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

This is a beautifully composed scent of flowers and suede. People also claim there is an apple note in here, a note I’m not really getting.
But, like Wild Bluebell, this just isn’t the perfume for me. Light, sweet, girly, pretty – not up my alley at all. I prefer Grapefruit, Blackberry and Bay, Basil and Neroli, Wood Sage and Sea Salt or Pomegranate Noir.
This is too sweet and feminine for me.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Opens with a blast of rosey apple and a background of jasmine. Dries down to the sweetest, most beautiful peony-suede skinscent. Feminine and sophisticated.
This is for the grown-up girly girl, not for teens. A lady in a pink silk dress and tan trench coat, running her hand over dew-drenched peony bushes.
Back story-I’ve been searching for a wedding scent for over a year now after my love and I got engaged. A long-time Jo Malone fan, of course I visited her counter first.
“Peony and Blush Suede is our most popular bridal fragrance,” the lady told me. As soon as she said that, I crossed it off my list.
Like others, I had a very strong idea in my mind about what I wanted, and this didn’t tick any of the boxes. Wild Bluebell has always been my favourite from the line, and I wanted something in a similar vibe to that and Dior Forever and Ever.
But I’ve now used up almost two sample of this fragrance, and I have to admit defeat. I love Peony and Blush Suede, and it’s now on my list of possible wedding fragrances. It makes me feel beautiful and womanly. Maybe my nose is growing up.

This fragrance will forever have a very special place in my heart because I wore it on my wedding day this past June. It’s a GORGEOUS sophisticated and soft yet long- lasting floral. The suede note brings a warmth to it and compliments the floral and apple notes very nicely. This is a great spring and summer perfume and is just downright pretty.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

I adore peony and anything floral really so I really liked this one. The only thing that turns me slightly off is the ‘suede’ element I just don’t get why anyone would like to smell like leather so I was a bit dissapointed at first. But I love the peony in this so much and the red apple so gave it another chance. Now I think perhaps the suede gives it a warm, inviting, ever so slightly seductive vibe. I’m debating weather to get it or not..this is def a girly girls perfume which is right up my street. Perfect for anyone 16 or in their twenties, thirty s or indeed anyone young at heart. It’s like a burst of spring time and also like a warm summer night. On an other note I wish joe malne would do a purely floral perfume..something without fruit and without darkness.

This is my initial review for peony and blush suede so expect an edit later on, as I literally just bought this.
So I’m not a seasoned perfume buyer. I only buy perfumes very occasionally, and that’s when I’m feeling rich. Perfumes for me don’t usually mix well with my chemistry, even though I love them. They usually are either quite cloying or disappear on me within 3 seconds. For ages I have been longing for an every day, clean, sophisticated, but not too mature scent that I can wear daily. Something that goes perfectly with that just showered clean feeling as sometimes when you put a perfume on you feel like you need to shower again, but also isn’t so light that its as if you didn’t even bother to spray anything! I’m the type of person who likes to be understated but polished – clear polish on my short fingernails, dainty jewellery, simple monochromatic chic clothes etc. I wanted my perfume to match. Basically I want to be put together but not trying too hard, I think that look is the best especially for everyday as I prefer to get the fancy stuff out for special occasions. (Thats what makes them so special right?)
I randomly decided to give this a try one day. I have never bought a Jo Malone scent or anything from there before, as they’re bloody expensive – £43 for 30ml is a lot! As soon as I smelt this one I was intrigued. It wasn’t anything like anything else I’d smelt, there was no cloying base note. It starts off sharp and fresh and then dries to a creamy scent that envelopes but doesn’t suffocate. It’s like you know its there, but don’t at the same time. Throughout the day I kept getting subtle hints of florals, but don’t get me wrong this isn’t a run of the mill floral perfume. I actually hate florals and powdery scents – Think Chloe, which I despise. The florals in this one have something in the background that offsets them and this makes the whole perfume unique. It kind of smells like flowers on a rainy day if that makes any sense. This scent is also quite fresh and light, but not aquatic or citrus – its quite unusal for a floral scent to be fresh I think! So far this scent lasts the whole day on me, but the silage is low which I don’t mind as I work in healthcare and wouldn’t want a perfume with massive silage anyway. And its ticking every box and what I was looking for, so far I’m loving it. I’ve done some research and its actually one of the most popular wedding fragrances which says a lot about its clean, simple, understated and classic vibe. Really excited to wear this more and to report back.

I loved this perfume when I tried it in the shop, however after wearing it a few times I just don’t think it smells good on my skin….. It’s a large bottle too! Have the original packaging – new to fragantica – does anyone want to swap?

Every once in a while I find a perfume that fulfills a need I never knew I had. Flowerbomb was like that, as was Amazone and Fidji for me. They are very different but the revelation is the same. My nose perked up and I felt like I was enveloped in beauty. This scent is simple, gorgeous and a work of art. Too bad about the sillage. That is my only complaint.

  47. :

A lovely scent. Delicate and feminine like a ballerina. Nothing too complex here…it’s just a pure peony scent with a light hint of suede. Very similar to Prada Candy Florale, just more rubbery and less citrusy. I would buy this for a graceful young lady’s 16th birthday. It smells like young love.

I moved to michigan this past summer. The moment I moved here it started raining at least once a week if not more. This has been the scent to cheer me up. I have been homesick over the past few weeks. when I start to get too down, I smell my wrist. This is just such a happy sent. Also, since it stays close to the skin I dont have to worry about my office mates being overpowered. Did I mention I went from having my own office to a cubical. Sigh.

Smellicious0000 – you stated my thoughts 100%. Fantastic scents but EVERYONE I have sampled prove to have very low longevity and sillage isn’t even nose to wrist! Annick Goutal is very similar to me for the same reasons. I just don’t even look anymore…..

After purchasing this scent I overheard someone saying it reminded her of candy floss after she sprayed copious amounts of it all over the place. It’s pretty but not for me. Poor sillage and longevity. I found that the small, expensive bottle did not last long as had to keep re-applying. The poor lasting power of Jo Malones fragrances means I won’t be go back for more. It is a shame as they have other pretty scents with pretty names.

Fresh fruity sweet opening notes. On skin, it goes really floral with warmth. I was expecting animalic scent due to suede leather but somewhat smells like moist, elegant and clean gent’s skin which is almost addicting and slightly alluring. It’s not that complicated of a scent but it’s very unique for me. Very Jo Malone. It’s suitable for spring. Not for intense summer heat. Great for rainy season. It lasts pretty long on me. It’s not your ordinary girly pink! It’s very elegantly pink.

if you could see this perfume on the skin it could be described as ‘pretty’.
It is a very nice; flowery and somewhat powdery fragrance with a constant sweetness that could be described as over bearing. While I did’nt rush to wash it off, less is definitely more.
A ‘summer’ fragrance and definitely a ladylike occasion perfume. It is not girly, it is grown up and oozes class, but not sex appeal.
Would I buy it? Absolutely!! But I would spray lightly upon my skin and possibly upon my clothes.
    Hope this helps

Combo Note: Peony Blush Suede body cream all over + spritzes of Diptyque’s L’Ombre dans L’Eau on arms and clothes. Refresh with Peony Blush Suede spritzes all around neck. OMG! Fresh beautiful flowers all around. I think the sweetness of the PBS balanced out that strong greeness of LODLE very well. And who doesn’t love a bouquet of beautiful peonies and roses together?

Juicy (borderline aquatic) apple and soft musk. I am no fan of aquatic fragrances, but this composition is so well-balanced that it works for me anyway.
Elegant, solar rather than just sunny, very alive.
The musk somehow makes it seem city-like to me.
This is the first Jo Malone I’m trying, and it was love at first sniff! I’m so happy I found it!
upd: just realized the nose is Christine Nagel who composed 2 other perfumes I loved – Encre Noire for Lalique and Hypnose Senses for Lancome… it makes even more sense now! Makes me think that I’m going to pay more attention to the nose rather than the group to find new perfumes from now on!

Peony and Blush Suede would be an extremely pleasant fragrance, were it not for the fresh, sharp, borderline aquatic musk on the dry down. I detect this same cheap musk in Guerlain’s My Insolence. It’s masculine, jarring, and clashes with the overall mood of the fragrance. This one is a miss for me. Without that aquatic musk it would have been very pretty.
The opening smells surprisingly boozy, like apple cider.

Meh. This is a little too direct for me. I like my loud scents to have a little more sophistication. This is so brash; apple, carnation, and jasmine. All very loud and distinct notes. And then there’s that leather accord that frames it all.
Everyone on the subway nearby me was coughing. I’m sure this is a winner with many but I’m really into a well-composed fragrance. I would believe you if you told me this was an low-selling Tokyomilk fragrance or Versace flanker or something.

    Beautiful and elegant.
I came across this scent by accident. I visited the Jo Malone shop and purchased a bottle of pomegranate noir (another great scent). I went to lunch with a few friends and all I could smell was the perfume the sales assistant sprayed on the packaging… I couldn’t resist, I went back after my lunch and went to the sales assistant and asked what did you spray on the bag, she told me it was this beauty! I then proceeded and bought another bottle of it!
I can see myself wearing this fragrance in the Spring moths as well as the Autumn. At the first spray or two, all I could get was an sweet apple scent… but after my nose became accustom to its smell, all I can ge
