When I first sprayed this, I got lots of lemon and pepper. The patchouli came later, and the reviewer before me, lots of wood in the end. It was very foody-savory with just a little patchouli throughout. Not very Imperial. Also had the sweetness of a lot of the CB water-based fragrances, which probably helped the lemony part.

Somehow it reminded of Twin Peaks. The first time I sprayed Patchouli Empire on my wrist it was a nice smell of cold, wet earth after the rain. But then the fragrance changed never to return to that again. After a while it is more wood than patchouli. I feet like I’m at a sawmill. Weird.
