At first, this is so delicious! Creamy, sticky sweet oranges that give way to a subtle rum note. Your first encounter with Paris Fidji smells like something that should be poured into your glass over ice on a hot summer day. Then the sandalwood takes the sparkling citrus down a few notches, eventually taming things until there’s just a gentle warm glow sitting closer to the skin and the sweetness is all but gone. Definitely very distinct stages to this one, like day and night.

Despite an odd, slightly metallic/dusty note in the opening stage, this fragrance really wows me. It’s all about slightly candied oranges on a creamy sandalwood base.
The rhum note is definitely there, emerging very gradually through time and adding a lovely, summery cocktail vibe to the composition. I’m usually shy about spirits in fragrances because I wouldn’t like to smell like a drunkard, but I’m fine with this one because the sandalwood dose is enough to dilute the alchol effect of rhum.
It’s definitely a relax time scent, worth trying if you like oranges.
