I wish they would bring this back in EDT and EDP form and come back to the regular US market. I love this brand, love their multi-textured, sunny smelling blends and I think they offer something unique and distinctive compared to the competition.
“Papilon” is like sunshine sparkle with a buzz of hot bark running throughout. It opens tart and slightly sweet, like a complex punch of citrus and flower petals and quickly develops into a fibery, multi-textured blend of citrus peel, flower waxes and woods.
There’s also a kick of something nostalgic in there for me, almost like a specific kind of early in the genre, fruity-floral note that’s particular to the early 2000’s but I can’t tell if that’s just personal or if others would smell the same thing.
The tart citrus top notes also include a subtle cherry syrup note that reminds me of the cherry in “Cartier Delices”, which was pretty popular in the early 2000’s / noughts, so that might be it. it’s more like the cordial syrup in a chocolate covered cherry sweet than fresh cherries, which for this blend works because the other notes feel so natural.
Bring this back, Oilily and bring it back to The USA! We need your sunny, creative brand!
(1/19/2018 I just wanted to add that the packaging they released this in is just lovely. The whole thing feels like a work of art and the design and weight of the bottle makes it very satisfying to hold. Oilily’s packaging is always a treat. I really wish they’d bring this one back as a regular.)

Another friendly fruity-floral fragrance in the spirit of MUSE, Oilily PAPILLON is slightly sweeter but just as nice. In this composition, a touch of wood appears in the drydown, but otherwise the notes meld together harmonically with the ultimate effect of making the wearer smell, well,…good!
I’m glad that I decided to check out the Oilily line, which I had never even heard of before spotting their samples at beautyencounter.com. I recommend this line to those looking for light but high-quality fruity floral frags with good staying power.

Pretty floral. I do get the lily in the opening mixed with some fruits and roses. Light and good for summer. Supposedly this fragrance also has cherry notes. Not overly original nor easily found in the US but price is usually decent if you can find it.
