Description

“The scents commonly used in these Palaces such as oud, jasmin and Taif rose are at the heart of this limited edition. Incredibly rare, precious ingredients, handpicked and blended create this sublime and extravagant pure parfum oil.

Rare Indian oud, aged for 12 years have been exclusively created for this fragrance. It is combined with high quality Indonesian oud and then sensually intertwined with intense notes of wild Egyptian jasmine and Arabian rose from Taif. Cedar wood from the Atlas mountains in Morocco has been enhanced with light notes of amber and the addition of a Cambodian sandalwood strengthens the woody impact of the precious oil.

With only 100 bottles this fragrance is truly exclusive. Palace Oud is 30 ml of a pure fragrance oil, presented in an exclusive handmade decanter of the finest English crystal” — press release of the brand. Palace Oud was launched in 2013.

I’m not an oud fan. It’s a smell I can take or leave, but mainly leave to be honest. That burnt plastic, BandAid thing that oud can do leaves me cold.
    Then I tried Palace Oud.
Every oud I’ve tried before this had got it wrong. This is exquisite. Really. I detect lovely aldehydes in this too, like a vintage Chanel No. 5 or similar. The scent is very complex.
I wish this perfume came in an ordinary flacon. The price would be significantly less.
Until I become rich and foolish, I’ll just be content being foolish for the thought of Palace Oud. Le sigh.

Smelled this from the bottle at Selfridges London last night and OMG it smelled incredible.
I could instantly smell Taif rose and creamy sandalwood. Those were the two most potent notes. The price for the bottle was over GBP£2.5k, so well beyond my budget, but I had a momentary glimpse of heaven!
