Description

Heartfelt love captured in a fragrance. A contemporary take on the eternal symbol of love: the rose. Inspired by the perfect love between two people, P.S. I Love You encapsulates the giddy excitement and shared secrets of timeless love. A timeless yet refreshingly modern take on the classic bloom, P.S. I Love You reinterprets the rose with an exotic blend of alluring ingredients, creating a modern fragrance that exudes addictive femininity.

P.S. I Love You joins the Signature Collection line as the latest expertly blended fragrance created by the world’s top perfumers. Among fragrance aficionados and Bath & Body Works shoppers alike, Signature Collection scents are considered a best-kept secret—carefully calibrated blends of superior ingredients for a fraction of the cost of prestige brands.

The master perfumer behind P.S. I Love You combined velvet rose and pink peony with golden amber and exotic incense to create a fragrance that evokes pure love. For this project, Symrise perfumer Dave Apel chose to take a more sophisticated approach to rose and explore its mystery, sensuality and intoxicating characteristics. “P.S. I Love You builds a sensual, amber warmth on a canvas of black roses as sparkling fruits and watery lychee lend the fragrance a youthful quality,” Apel explains. “The fragrance takes the vintage appeal of a classic rose and surrounds it with exuberant freshness for a totally modern experience.”

TOP NOTES

Fresh Citrus, Lychee, Peony, Yellow Rose Accord, Riesling Vitessence

MID NOTES

Scarlet Velvet Rose, Orchid, Purple Lilies, Jasmine, Exotic Incense

DRY NOTES

Creamy Sandalwood, Patchouli, Golden Amber, Musk

In addition to the signature bath and body fragrance forms, P.S. I Love You is available as a limited-edition decorative hand soap as well as an exclusive Eau de Parfum. A modern interpretation of antique inkwell bottles used to pen romantic love notes, the limited-edition Eau de Parfum lets you put your signature on any modern love story.

P.S. I Love You was launched in 2009. The nose behind this fragrance is David Apel.

This is a very bad fragrance from BBW . very strong, smokey, powdery, and rotten flowers smell. Has a bug repellent tinge to it. reminds me of a really bad bar with womens stale perfume…yuck

This was made when Bath & Body Works made worth-while fragrances rather than run of the mill, overly sweet, shampoo concoctions. I received a vintage bottle of this beauty in a swap. I don’t know what I was expecting for a BBW scent but this one is a beauty! It’s a powdery, smoky, rose and peony scent. As with all BBW scents it’s extremely linear. It is seductively feminine. I love it!

I still have this, and I like it. I have to be in the mood to wear it. I think just because I used to wear it so much. If you do not like rose in a fragrance you will not like this. This is a resinous, somewhat smokey, full-blooming rose. The rose in this is not dew kissed or fresh. The rose in this reminds me of the rose in Boudoir by Vivianne Westwood, though the two fragrances are nothing alike. I was unaware that this had been discontinued, that’s too bad. When I wore this a lot, I always got complements.
***edit***wearing this today (about a week after the review) for the first time, in a long time. I see why I used to wear this so much. It really is nice. I had forgotten how musky the base is! I love musk. If you like rose in fragrances, give it a try. I will say, the longevity is not great, but at this price point you can afford to reapply often.

I am never sure how I stand with this one. Sometimes I quite like it, sometimes I absolutely despise it, but it always kinda makes me not want to eat.

When this first came out I strongly disliked it – took one smell and dismissed it quite firmly.
(As a little aside – I will never understand Bath and Body Works’ logic when it comes to bringing back fragrances. I really couldn’t tell you why this came back last winter and has remained available, while others like the gorgeous Magnolia Blossom, which I know is a fragrance that loyal customers like myself would DIE to be able to purchase again, are not. Anyway, on to the review of the fragrance at hand…)
Forward a few years, and PS I Love You mist becomes available online. In order to meet a free shipping requirement I added the mist to my cart. My reaction to this fragrance is a sure indication that my taste in perfumes has evolved in a big way.
I originally found this heavy and stuffy. Now, somehow, the heavy impression is gone (as long as it is sprayed with a light hand). I am really picky about roses in fragrances as they tend to wear me instead of the other way around. PS I Love You actually blends pretty well with my chemistry, so the rose doesn’t totally overtake the other notes. I can smell hints of the earthy patchouli, and the incense is warm and REALLY blends well with the rose. Slightly sweet, but not sweet like most of their fragrances are these days – sweet in a flowery way rather than sugary. Slightly musky.
This is not a fragrance I would ever call a signature. However, I do find it to be really wearable, a good casual night out scent. I give this a 3.2/5 (above average, but just slightly so).

I got this in a swap with a very generous fragrantican and I think it is a lighter version of Enchanted Forest by Vagabond Prince—a rosier, less intimidating version. The nose who created this has always been so good with florals. This is not bad for the price. If you fragrances like Stella and Moroccan Rose by The Body Shop, you will love this. I definitely get the wine note (riesling). Simply put, it is like wine and roses.
    I like it.

It’s actually a pretty good one! Worth a try but it can can cause a headache if sprayed to much in one go.

I’m hooked on this now, and sad that it’s been discontinued. The litchi and amber is dominant on my skin (especially in the form of the lotion). This is not powdery on me, oddly enough. It’s definitely one of the classier BBW scents that I’ve experienced.

  12. :

This is like pure baby powder in a bottle. If you like that type of thing, then this is for you. If it’s not really your cup of tea like me, then stay AWAY from this. I call this a headache in a bottle.

  13. :

I tested P.S. I love you, when it first came out. I hated the scent. There was nothing even remotely romantic about it. P.S. I love you is an overpowering floral musk. I suppose it didn’t sell well, which is why it is now discontinued.

This is the most appealing smell from Bath&Body Works
I really like it, i do not find it aimlessly being a fruity-floral… I feel like it has got its own story, instead of trying to be extremely mainstream.
Or maybe there was something wrong with my nose? I just ordered it and have not received it as of yet…

  15. :

It’s a powdery, slightly spicy rose scent. I’ve never been a fan of rose, but I think rose lovers would really enjoy this. I can see why it was discontinued though. I’ve smelled more memorable rose fragrances elsewhere. :/

There are few rose-based scents that work with me. This is NOT one of them. It smells lovely and light on a few other women I’ve met at work but on myself, it’s heavy, powdery, dusty rose. Blech! I have been trying desperately to get rid of this body spray (not by using it on myself, of course) and it just won’t empty… Oh well, at least it smells nice on certain people.

A friend of mine was given this for Christmas, it was not her style, nor mine smelling it out of the bottle. And it is not my favorite smell, Sand and Sable, tendre Poison, flowery smells are ones I like, but once I put it on…… I recieved so many compliments!!!!
I never receive compliments! My skin never retains the scent either, but this one sticks around all day! It mixes with my chemistry and forms a scent that I love and apparently so do others. I drive a truck for a living, have for 12 years now. Have only received one compliment once on the Sweet Pea scent. But this one…. I have people sidling up to me, smelling me on purpose and asking what I am wearing!
I have been looking for that scent that will stay and be “my scent” my entire life. I am so disappointed that they Dc’d this. They told me to try Paris Amour, but it is not the same… way too much vanilla.

very strong, very floral. almost gives me heart burn lol. i don’t hate it, its alright but not something i would buy again. its overpowering and doesnt wash off.

I only wear this when going out or at night. I am a more fruity/ fresh scent type, but my boyfriend loves this. I the blend of light floral scents are nice, but too strong for my taste to wear at work, and the perfume gives me a headache. But for some reason I can wear the lotion, as its not as strong. The body spray and perfume smell really alcohol-ey, but I am glad this scent doesn’t smell too sweet or like vanilla and musk at the end of the day like most BBW scents.

I figured this would be a boring, carbon copy floral just from hearing the name. However, at my great-grandmother’s house about a month ago, my hands were dry and I desperately needed lotion. A bottle of this was on her sink, so I figured, “Ehh, better floral hands than dry hands.”
I was pleasantly surprised. An ultra girly and yet not overpowering or boring floral. Sweet, cute, and approriate for ladies of all ages.

very rose/floral and also woody to my nose. it starts of very alcoholy to me, but that quickly fades to the floral/wood that i seem to smell. its not long lasting as i thought it would be because it does go on strong. i reapply this often. i think you could also wear this day or evening. i would give it a 6 out of 10.

P.S. I love you is an incredibly lovely perfume for both its scent and its allusion to a great Beatles song! The different scents are incredibly sweet and strong on me, which proved to be very convenient for eliminating the smell of chlorine after swimming. No matter what reviews it may get, I will always have a soft spot for this perfume. I know for a fact that I’m not the only fan since I wore this perfume when I got my first kiss, and the person I was with really liked it too!

Love this marvelous combination: riesling, rose and patchouli!!! Those are what I smell when I wear this. The sharpness of the riesling combined with the soft rose and patchouli make this one of my favorites. I am sorry they are discontinuing this.

My skin just projects certain things. For this P.S. I Love You, it smells peachy fruits, floral, and incense/sadalwood. Everytime I use this, I think of Burberry Body without the powderyness. I hope I could find someone else to agree… Sigh.

Body Spray review. I love this one it is such a nice floral. I can really smell the peony, and orchid mixed with a tad bit of incense. Unfortunatly it only lasts about an hour although I can still smell a bit of the musky amber that the dry-down has. It’s very pretty and a little more complex for B&BW. I don’t know if the EDT EDP lasts longer then the spray, but if it does then it is worth getting (pending you can find it) Best for Spring Summer Daytime wear 🙂

  26. :

    5 out of 5

This is not your typical sharp and clearly defined summer rose scent. P.S. I Love You is more of a cool weather rose scent. Warm, woody, ambery. With some depth and smokyness (created by the incencse) Casual yet kinda romantic.
Longevity and projection are excellant. (This one definately draws compliments.)

  27. :

    5 out of 5

It is going to be discontinued 🙁
This is actually one of BBW scents that is somewhat original. All of their scents are so heavily laced with vanilla and/or musk at the end, that they become nothing but trash and hardly desirable.
The very first whiff of P.S. I Love You while in the body souffle is amazing; I smell the beautiful richness of rose muted with amber. To my nose it is rich, unique and somewhat mysterious, without being heavy or too spicy. HOWEVER, the very minute the product hits my skin it is ALL incense–the kind used at church. It loses all its dark floral essence and turns to only incense…quite strange really. I would like to smell this frag on someone else to see how it suits them.

It’s really a gorgeous scent. I enjoy using it for everyday events cause it makes for a very successful daily scent, too. Not so sure about nighttime, but there’s no problem in trying. Still, this scent reminds me of more classic days in perfume, and I love how effortless it is. You definitely smell the rose; not so much the amber, at least when I have it on. But I’m pretty close to having the complete collection (got a free body lotion with the perfume so that was a score) and it’s just something I love to wear. Very sophisticated, and I get many compliments.

My friend had the body lotion of p.s. i love you at her house and i decided to try it on. Oh my god, the entire day I smelled like a grandma. I asked 5 of friends to smell my arm and they all agreed. IF YOU’RE A TEENAGER, STAY THE HELL AWAY. Please don’t buy it, to me it was the most disgusting BBW scent I have tried in a while.

Wow, this is really a perfume I can’t stand the smell of. My daughter bought it for me for Christmas and it’s the only one I have that I don’t use often. However, BOTH times I have worn it I have had my brother and others ask what it is and say how good it smells. So I will still wear it on occasion. Men really seem to like it a lot.

Last year a bunch of people gave this to me for Christmas. I like it, though it isn’t a thriller for me. It’s floral and very nice. I must say though that everyone else LOVES it on me. I have gotten more compliments weaing this than anything else. This is the only thing someone has actually stopped me to ask what I was wearing. Then men especially seem to adore it- my husband’s favorite.

Its a rather fruity floral more floral than fruity.

“Love is in the air” or, rather, “Desire for love is in the air,” must have been the recent forecasts of the marketing gurus at the nation’s major mass market fragrance retailers, TBS, VS, and last but not least, BBW, whose P.S. I LOVE YOU definitively proves that love is a toothache. Or so it seems.
P.S. I LOVE YOU is a super-fruity fruity floral, with nary a rose to be found by my nose! The oh-so-trendy and requisite patchouli is in abundance, and the jamlike fruitiness coats the flowers into an indistinguishable pinkish-red blob. I thought that I’d see the infamous “red berries” listed among the notes, but the uebersweetness of this frag appears be due to “Riesling essence”. Which makes a lot of sense, in fact: Riesling is probably my least favorite wine. Well, not counting Mogen David.
Way too sweet! Can love really be a toothache, after all? This seems to be more a scent of teenage infatuation, strong and sweet while it lasts, but fairly shortlived. Yes, indeed, P.S. I LOVE YOU could be the celebrity Twitter scent of, well, n’importe qui!

I got a lotion sampler of this and wasn’t thrilled with the smell. I read reviews from another site that this smells like pantyliners! So I didn’t gave this scent another try. But I got curious with its other version P.S. I Love You Spring Fling. I ordered it unsniffed and to my surprise its good! Lovely, fresh and summery crisp.

  36. :

Got it at the half yearly sale , great spring summer scent. I believe it is only going to last as long as you layer it or reapply as any lite, fresh floral secent to last. The EDP AND THE BODY CREAM makes it last at least 4hrs before you have to reapply.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Oddly, I got almost no rose from this. I got instead a fruity musk with hairspray overtones. It fadesd down some to a creamier scent, a clear light musk, slightly powdery in a makeup way, with watery floral notes like Freesia. This was better, but I’m not a huge fan of Freesia and the watery floral notes. The body mist is much lighter than the EdP and has almost no sillage. YOu have to press your nose to your wrist to smell it. The EdP is much better by far and longer lasting. Still, not my thing, and the opening notes are too acidic to be pleasant.

  38. :

I have the travel size mist of P.S. I Love You, and it’s surprisingly strong for a body spray. This scent is rosy, it reminded me of Stella when I first sprayed it on. Then, after a moment, a chocolately note starts to come out, and things get interesting! A complex chocolate rose scent, from Bath and Body Works! I can’t wait to try this in the special EDP edition.

  39. :

I really like the smell; unfortunately it dos not last long on me AT ALL. I sprayed a fair amount on me at 7am this morning…by 9am I could barely smell it and by 10am it was gone completely 🙁

  40. :

    4 out of 5

The EDT is a very nice rose that smells classy and wears well. This is a young, slightly sweet rose, but there is enough base to keep it from being too sugary, and it never veers into rose soap territory. A very good scent from BBW that I will definitely purchase.

P.S. I Love You Bath and Body Works
